Jesaja 13

1Profetaĵo pri Babel, kiun viziis Jesaja, filo de Amoc. 2Sur senarba monto levu standardon, laŭte voku al ili, faru signon per la mano, ke ili eniru en la pordegon de la eminentuloj. 3Mi ordonis al Miaj sanktigitoj, Mi kunvokis al Mia kolero Miajn fortulojn, kiuj ĝojas pro Mia majesteco. 4Bruo de amaso estas sur la montoj, kvazaŭ de grandnombra popolo! bruo de la regnoj de nacioj kolektiĝintaj! la Eternulo Cebaot ĉirkaŭrigardas la batalontan militistaron. 5Ili venis el lando malproksima, de la rando de la ĉielo, la Eternulo kaj la iloj de Lia kolero, por ruinigi la tutan landon. 6Ĝemu, ĉar proksima estas la tago de la Eternulo; kiel katastrofo ĝi venos de la Plejpotenculo. 7Tial ĉiuj manoj senfortiĝas kaj ĉiu homa koro senkuraĝiĝas. 8Ili estas terurataj, spasmoj kaj doloroj ilin atakas, ili sin tordas, kiel naskantino; kun miro ili rigardas unu alian, iliaj vizaĝoj flamas. 9Jen venis la tago de la Eternulo, kruela kaj kolera kaj furioza, por fari la landon dezerto kaj ekstermi el ĝi ĝiajn pekulojn. 10La steloj de la ĉielo kaj ĝiaj stelfiguroj ne donas sian lumon, la suno mallumiĝis leviĝante, kaj la luno ne briligos sian lumon. 11Mi repagos al la mondo la malbonon kaj al la malpiuloj ilian kulpon; Mi ĉesigos la fierecon de la malhumiluloj, kaj la arogantecon de la potenculoj Mi malaltigos. 12Mi faros, ke viro estos pli kara, ol oro, kaj homo estos pli kara, ol la ora metalo el Ofir. 13Por tio Mi ektremigos la ĉielon, kaj la tero skuiĝos el sia loko, pro la kolero de la Eternulo Cebaot kaj en la tago de Lia flama kolero. 14Ili estos kiel gazelo persekutata, kiel ŝafo forlasita; ĉiu sin turnos al sia popolo, kaj ĉiu kuros al sia lando. 15Ĉiu renkontita estos trapikita, kaj ĉiu kaptita falos de glavo. 16Iliaj infanoj estos frakasitaj antaŭ iliaj okuloj; iliaj domoj estos prirabitaj, kaj iliaj edzinoj estos malhonoritaj. 17Mi vekos kontraŭ ilin la Medojn, kiuj ne ŝatas arĝenton kaj oron ne avidas, 18sed per pafarkoj mortigas junulojn, frukton de ventro ne kompatas; infanojn ne indulgas ilia okulo. 19Kaj Babel, la plej bela el la regnoj, la majesta belaĵo de la Ĥaldeoj, estos kiel Sodom kaj Gomora, ruinigitaj de Dio; 20neniu iam tie sidos, kaj por eterne ĝi restos neloĝata; Arabo ne starigos tie sian tendon, kaj paŝtistoj tie ne ripozos. 21Ripozos tie sovaĝaj bestoj, kaj iliaj domoj estos plenaj de gufoj, kaj strutoj tie loĝos, kaj virkaproj tie saltados. 22Kaj ŝakaloj bruos en iliaj palacoj, kaj strigoj en la salonoj de amuzo. 1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw: 2Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. 3I have commanded my consecrated ones; yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly exulting ones. 4The noise of a multitude is in the mountains, as of a great people; the noise of an uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Yahweh of Armies is mustering the army for the battle. 5They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Yahweh, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. 6Wail; for the day of Yahweh is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. 7Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt. 8They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame. 9Behold, the day of Yahweh comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it. 10For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going out, and the moon will not cause its light to shine. 11I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible. 12I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir. 13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger. 14It will happen that like a hunted gazelle, and like sheep that no one gathers, they will each turn to their own people, and will each flee to their own land. 15Everyone who is found will be thrust through. Everyone who is captured will fall by the sword. 16Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped. 17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not value silver, and as for gold, they will not delight in it. 18Their bows will dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb. Their eyes will not spare children. 19Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be like when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. 20It will never be inhabited, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch a tent there, neither will shepherds make their flocks lie down there. 21But wild animals of the desert will lie there, and their houses will be full of jackals. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will frolic there. 22Wolves will cry in their castles, and jackals in the pleasant palaces. Her time is near to come, and her days will not be prolonged.

1De last van Babel, dien Jesaja, de zoon van Amoz, gezien heeft. 2Heft op een banier, op een hogen berg; verheft een stem tot hen; beweegt de hand omhoog, dat zij intrekken door de deuren der prinsen. 3Ik heb aan Mijn geheiligden bevel gegeven; ook heb Ik tot Mijn toorn geroepen Mijn helden, de vrolijken Mijner hoogheid. 4Er is een ruisende stem op de bergen, gelijk eens groten volks; een stem van gedruis der koninkrijken, der verzamelde heidenen; de HEERE der heirscharen monstert het krijgsheir. 5Zij komen uit verren lande, van het einde des hemels; de HEERE en de instrumenten Zijner gramschap, om dat ganse land te verderven. 6Huilt gijlieden, want de dag des HEEREN is nabij; hij komt als een verwoesting van den Almachtige. 7Daarom zullen alle handen slap worden, en aller mensen hart zal versmelten; 8En zij zullen verschrikt worden, smarten en weeen zullen hen aangrijpen, zij zullen bang zijn als een barende vrouw; een iegelijk zal over zijn naaste verbaasd zijn; hun aangezichten zullen vlammende aangezichten zijn. 9Ziet, de dag des HEEREN komt, gruwelijk, met verbolgenheid en hittigen toorn, om het land te stellen tot verwoesting, en deszelfs zondaars daaruit te verdelgen. 10Want de sterren des hemels en zijn gesternten zullen haar licht niet laten lichten; de zon zal verduisterd worden, wanneer zij zal opgaan, en de maan zal haar licht niet laten schijnen. 11Want Ik zal over de wereld de boosheid bezoeken, en over de goddelozen hun ongerechtigheid; en Ik zal den hoogmoed der stouten doen ophouden, en de hovaardij der tirannen zal Ik vernederen. 12Ik zal maken, dat een man dierbaarder zal zijn dan dicht goud, en een mens dan fijn goud van Ofir. 13Daarom zal Ik den hemel beroeren, en de aarde zal bewogen worden van haar plaats, vanwege de verbolgenheid des HEEREN der heirscharen, en vanwege den dag Zijns hittigen toorns. 14En een iegelijk zal zijn als een verjaagde ree, en als een schaap, dat niemand vergadert; een iegelijk zal naar zijn volk omzien, en een iegelijk zal naar zijn land vluchten. 15Al wie gevonden wordt, zal doorstoken worden, en al wie daarbij gevoegd is, zal door het zwaard vallen. 16Ook zullen hun kinderkens voor hun ogen verpletterd worden; hun huizen zullen geplunderd, en hun vrouwen geschonden worden. 17Ziet, Ik zal de Meden tegen hen verwekken, die het zilver niet zullen achten, en aan het goud zullen zij geen lust hebben. 18Maar hun bogen zullen de jongelingen verpletteren, en zij zullen zich niet ontfermen over de vrucht des buiks; hun oog zal de kinderen niet verschonen. 19Alzo zal Babel, het sieraad der koninkrijken, de heerlijkheid, de hovaardigheid der Chaldeen, zijn gelijk als God Sodom en Gomorra omgekeerd heeft. 20Daar zal geen woonplaats zijn in der eeuwigheid, en zij zal niet bewoond worden van geslacht tot geslacht; en de Arabier zal daar geen tent spannen, en de herders zullen er niet legeren. 21Maar daar zullen nederliggen de wilde dieren der woestijnen, en hun huizen zullen vervuld worden met schrikkelijke gedierten, en daar zullen de jonge struisen wonen, en de duivelen zullen er huppelen. 22En wilde dieren der eilanden zullen in zijn verlaten plaatsen elkander toeroepen, mitsgaders de draken in de wellustige paleizen; hun tijd toch is nabij om te komen, en hun dagen zullen niet vertogen worden.
