1Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Chớ nào từ để mà ta đã để mẹ các ngươi ra ở đâu? Ai là người chủ nợ mà ta đã bán các ngươi cho? Nầy, các ngươi bị bán, là tại tội lỗi mình; mẹ các ngươi bị bỏ, là tại sự bội nghịch các ngươi. 2Cớ sao khi ta đến, chẳng thấy có người nào? Cớ sao khi ta gọi, chẳng có ai thưa lại? Tay ta há ngắn quá không chuộc được sao? hay là sức ta không đủ mà cứu được sao? Nầy, ta chỉ nạt một cái thì biển liền cạn. Ta biến sông thành đồng vắng; cá dưới sông vì khan nước phải chết khát, hóa ra hôi thối. 3Ta lấy sự tối tăm mặc cho các từng trời, và khoác cho một cái bao gai. 4Chúa Giê-hô-va đã ban cho ta cái lưỡi của người được dạy dỗ, hầu cho ta biết dùng lời nói nâng đỡ kẻ mệt mỏi. Ngài đánh thức tai ta để nghe lời Ngài dạy, như học trò vậy. 5Thật, Chúa Giê-hô-va đã mở tai ta, ta không trái nghịch, cũng không giựt lùi. 6Ta đã đưa lưng cho kẻ đánh ta, và đưa má cho kẻ nhổ râu ta; ai mắng hoặc giổ trên ta, ta chẳng hề che mặt. 7Chúa Giê-hô-va sẽ giúp ta, nên ta chẳng bị mắc cỡ; vậy ta làm cho mặt ta cứng như đá; vì biết mình sẽ chẳng có điều chi xấu hổ. 8Ðấng xưng ta công bình đã đến gần; ai dám kiện với ta? Hãy cùng ta đều đứng lên! Ai là kẻ đối địch ta? Hãy lại gần ta! 9Thật, Chúa Giê-hô-va sẽ đến giúp ta: Ai định tội lỗi ta được? Nầy, hết thảy chúng nó sẽ cũ đi như áo, bị sâu cắn rách. 10Trong vòng các ngươi nào có ai kính sợ Ðức Giê-hô-va, và nghe tiếng của tôi tớ Ngài? Kẻ nào đi trong tối tăm và không có sự sáng thì hãy trông cậy danh Ðức Chúa Trời mình. 11Kìa, hết thảy các ngươi là kẻ thắp lửa và đốt đuốc vây lấy mình, thì hãy đi giữa ngọn lửa mình và giữa những đuốc mình đã đốt! Ấy là sự tay ta đã làm cho các ngươi, các ngươi sẽ nằm trong sự buồn bực!
1Thus says Yahweh, “Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away. 2Why, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can’t redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst. 3I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.” 4The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. 5The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward. 6I gave my back to the strikers, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair; I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting. 7For the Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be disappointed. 8He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. 9Behold, the Lord Yahweh will help me; who is he who shall condemn me? Behold, all they shall wax old as a garment, the moth shall eat them up. 10Who is among you who fears Yahweh, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in Yahweh’s name, and rely on his God. 11Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who adorn yourselves with torches around yourselves; walk in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that you have kindled. You shall have this of my hand; you shall lie down in sorrow.
1Alzo zegt de HEERE: Waar is de scheidbrief van ulieder moeder, waarmede Ik haar weggezonden heb? Of wie is er van Mijn schuldeisers, aan wien Ik u verkocht heb? Ziet, om uw ongerechtigheden zijt gij verkocht, en om uw overtredingen is uw moeder weggezonden. 2Waarom kwam Ik, en er was niemand, waarom riep Ik, en niemand antwoordde? Is Mijn hand dus gans kort geworden, dat zij niet verlossen kan, of is er in Mij geen kracht om uit te redden? Ziet, door Mijn schelding maak Ik de zee droog, Ik stel de rivieren tot een woestijn, dat haar vis stinkt, omdat er geen water is, en sterft van dorst. 3Ik bekleed den hemel met zwartheid, en stel een zak tot zijn deksel. 4De Heere HEERE heeft Mij een tong der geleerden gegeven, opdat Ik wete met den moede een woord ter rechter tijd te spreken; Hij wekt allen morgen, Hij wekt Mij het oor, dat Ik hore, gelijk die geleerd worden. 5De Heere HEERE heeft Mij het oor geopend, en Ik ben niet wederspannig, Ik wijk niet achterwaarts. 6Ik geef Mijn rug dengenen, die Mij slaan, en Mijn wangen dengenen, die Mij het haar uitplukken; Mijn aangezicht verberg Ik niet voor smaadheden en speeksel. 7Want de Heere HEERE helpt Mij, daarom word Ik niet te schande; daarom heb Ik Mijn aangezicht gesteld als een keisteen, want Ik weet, dat Ik niet zal beschaamd worden. 8Hij is nabij, Die Mij rechtvaardigt, wie zal met Mij twisten? Laat ons te zamen staan; wie heeft een rechtzaak tegen Mij? hij kome herwaarts tot Mij. 9Ziet, de Heere HEERE helpt Mij, wie is het, die Mij zal verdoemen? Ziet, zij zullen altemaal als een kleed verouden, die mot zal hen eten. 10Wie is er onder ulieden, die den HEERE vreest, die naar de stem Zijns Knechts hoort? Als hij in de duisternissen wandelt, en geen licht heeft, dat hij betrouwe op den Naam des HEEREN, en steune op zijn God. 11Ziet, gij allen, die een vuur aansteekt, die u met spranken omgordt! wandelt in de vlam van uw vuur, en in de spranken, die gij ontstoken hebt. Dat geschiedt u van Mijn hand, in smart zult gijlieden liggen.
