1Nầy, Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ cất lấy chói và gậy khỏi Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, tức là cả bánh nó cậy và cả nước nó nhờ. 2Ngài sẽ cất lấy những người mạnh mẽ, chiến sĩ, quan xét, đấng tiên tri, thầy bói, trưởng lão, 3cai đội, dòng quí phái, mưu sĩ, lương công, và thuật sĩ. 4Ta sẽ ban cho họ những người trai trẻ làm quan trưởng, và con nít sẽ cai trị họ. 5Dân sự hà hiếp nhau, người với người, lân cận với lân cận; con nít lấn lướt kẻ già cả, người hèn hạ lấn lướt người tôn trọng. 6Khi một người sẽ bắt anh em mình tại nhà cha mà nói với rằng: Ngươi có áo choàng; hãy làm đầu chúng ta, và sự bại hoại nầy hãy thuộc về dưới tay ngươi! 7Trong ngày đó người kia lên tiếng đáp rằng: Không, ta không làm thầy chữa lành, và trong nhà ta không có bánh cũng không có áo; chớ lập ta làm quan cai dân sự. 8Giê-ru-sa-lem phải nghiêng úp, và Giu-đa xiêu đổ; vì lời nói việc làm của họ nghịch cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va, và trêu chọc con mắt của uy nghiêm Ngài. 9Bộ mặt họ làm chứng nghịch cùng mình; họ bêu tội rõ ràng như thành Sô-đôm chẳng giấu chút nào. Khốn thay cho linh hồn họ! vì họ đã làm hại cho mình! 10Hãy rao cho kẻ công bình được phước; vì họ sẽ ăn trái của việc làm mình. 11Khốn cho kẻ hung ác, ắt mang họa! Vì họ sẽ thâu lại việc tự tay mình làm ra! 12Dân ta bị con nít hà hiếp, và đờn bà cai trị nó. Hỡi dân ta, kẻ dẫn ngươi làm cho ngươi sai lạc, và họ phá hoại đường lối ngươi. 13Ðức Giê-hô-va dấy lên đặng biện luận, Ngài đứng mà xét đoán các dân. 14Ðức Giê-hô-va xét đoán các trưởng lão của dân Ngài với các quan trưởng nó: Ấy chính các ngươi là kẻ đã nuốt vườn nho; của cướp bóc kẻ nghèo đương ở trong nhà các ngươi! 15Các ngươi có ý gì mà đè ép dân ta, giày vò mặt kẻ nghèo khó? Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán vậy. 16Ðức Giê-hô-va lại phán rằng: Vì những con gái Si-ôn kiêu ngạo, ngóng cổ bước tới, liếc mắt trêu ngươi, vừa đi õng ẹo, vừa khua động tiếng dưới chơn, 17nên Chúa sẽ làm cho đỉnh đầu con gái Si-ôn đóng vảy, và Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ lột truồng chúng nó. 18Trong ngày đó, Chúa sẽ cất những vòng mắt cá họ trang sức đi, cái lưới và cái cài; 19hoa tai, xuyến và lúp; 20mão, chuyền mắt cá, nít lưng, hợp hương và bùa đeo; 21cà rá và khoen đeo mũi; 22áo lễ, áo lá rộng, áo choàng, túi nhỏ; 23gương tay, vải mỏng, khăn bịt đầu và màn che mặt. 24Sẽ có mùi hôi hám thay vì thơm tho; dây tói thay vì nịt lưng; đầy sói thay vì tóc quăn; bao gai quấn mình thay vì áo dài phấp phới; dấu phỏng thay vì sắc đẹp. 25Lính chiến ngươi sẽ ngã dưới gươm, những kẻ anh hùng ngươi sẽ bị tử trận. 26Các cửa nó sẽ than khóc và thảm sầu; nó vắng vẻ ngồi trên đất.
1For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water; 2the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder, 3the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter. 4I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them. 5The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable. 6Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, “You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.” 7In that day he will cry out, saying, “I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing. You shall not make me ruler of the people.” 8For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against Yahweh, to provoke the eyes of his glory. 9The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They don’t hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought disaster upon themselves. 10Tell the righteous “Good!” For they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. 11Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them; for the deeds of his hands will be paid back to him. 12As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths. 13Yahweh stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples. 14Yahweh will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and their leaders: “It is you who have eaten up the vineyard. The plunder of the poor is in your houses. 15What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies. 16Moreover Yahweh said, “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking to trip as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet; 17therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and Yahweh will make their scalps bald.” 18In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, the headbands, the crescent necklaces, 19the earrings, the bracelets, the veils, 20the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume bottles, the charms, 21the signet rings, the nose rings, 22the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses, 23the hand mirrors, the fine linen garments, the tiaras, and the shawls. 24It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty. 25Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war. 26Her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate and sit on the ground.
1Want ziet, de Heere, HEERE der heirscharen, zal van Jeruzalem en van Juda wegnemen den stok en den staf, allen stok des broods, en allen stok des waters; 2Den held en den krijgsman, den rechter en den profeet, en den waarzegger, en den oude; 3Den overste van vijftig, en den aanzienlijke, en den raadsman, en den wijze onder de werkmeesters, en dien, die kloek ter tale is. 4En Ik zal jongelingen stellen tot hun vorsten, en kinderen zullen over hen heersen; 5En het volk zal gedrongen worden, de een zal zijn tegen den ander, en een iegelijk tegen zijn naaste; de jongeling zal stout zijn tegen den oude, de verachte tegen den eerlijke. 6Wanneer iemand zijn broeder uit het huis zijns vaders zal aangrijpen, zeggende: Gij hebt een kleed, wees ons ten overste, laat toch dezen aanstoot onder uw hand wezen; 7Zo zal hij in dien dag zijn hand opheffen, zeggende: Ik kan geen heelmeester wezen; er is ook geen brood en geen kleed in mijn huis; zet mij niet tot een overste des volks. 8Want Jeruzalem heeft aangestoten, en Juda is gevallen, dewijl hun tong en handelingen tegen den HEERE zijn, om de ogen Zijner heerlijkheid te verbitteren. 9Het gelaat huns aangezichts getuigt tegen hen, en hun zonden spreken zij vrij uit, gelijk Sodom; zij verbergen ze niet. Wee hunlieder ziel; want zij doen zichzelven kwaad. 10Zegt den rechtvaardige, dat het hem wel gaan zal; dat zij de vrucht hunner werken zullen eten. 11Wee den goddeloze, het zal hem kwalijk gaan, want de vergelding zijner handen zal hem geschieden. 12De drijvers Mijns volks zijn kinderen, en vrouwen heersen over hetzelve. O Mijn volk! die u leiden, verleiden u, en den weg uwer paden slokken zij in. 13De HEERE stelt Zich om te pleiten, en Hij staat, om de volken te richten. 14De HEERE komt ten gerichte tegen de oudsten Zijns volks en deszelfs vorsten, want gijlieden hebt dezen wijngaard verteerd; de roof des ellendigen is in uwe huizen. 15Wat is ulieden, dat gij Mijn volk verbrijzelt, en de aangezichten der ellendigen vermaalt? spreekt de Heere, HEERE der heirscharen. 16Verder zegt de HEERE: Daarom dat de dochteren van Sion zich verheffen, en gaan met uitgestrekten hals, en lonken met de ogen, al gaande en trippelende daarhenen treden, en alsof haar voeten gebonden waren. 17Zo zal de HEERE den schedel der dochteren van Sion schurftig maken, en de HEERE zal haar schaamte ontbloten. 18Ten zelfden dage zal de HEERE wegnemen het sieraad der kousebanden, en de netjes, en de maantjes. 19De reukdoosjes, en de kleine ketentjes, en de glinsterende kledingen, 20De hoofdkroning, en de armversierselen, en de bindselen, en de reukballetjes, en de oorringen, 21De ringen en de voorhoofdsierselen, 22De wisselklederen, en de manteltjes, en de hoedjes, en de buidels, 23De spiegels, en de fijn-linnen deksels, en de hulledoeken, en de sluiers. 24En het zal geschieden, dat er voor specerij stank zal zijn, en lossigheid voor een gordel, en kaalheid in plaats van haarvlechten, en omgording eens zaks in plaats van een wijden rok, en verbranding in plaats van schoonheid. 25Uw mannen zullen door het zwaard vallen, en uw helden in den strijd. 26En haar poorten zullen treuren, en leed dragen, en zij zal, ledig gemaakt zijnde, op de aarde zitten.
