1Lời mà Ê-sai, con trai A-mốt, đã thấy về Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem. 2Sẽ xảy ra trong những ngày sau rốt, núi của nhà Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ được lập vững trên đỉnh các núi, cao hơn các đồi. Vì luật pháp sẽ ra từ Si-ôn, lời Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ ra từ Giê-ru-sa-lem. 4Ngài sẽ làm sự phán xét trong các nước, đoán định về nhiều dân. Bấy giờ họ sẽ lấy gươm rèn lưỡi cày, lấy giáo rèn lưỡi liềm. Nước nầy chẳng còn giá gươm lên nghịch cùng nước khác, người ta chẳng còn tập sự chiến tranh. 5Hỡi nhà Gia-cốp, hãy đến, chúng ta hãy bước đi trong sự sáng của Ðức Giê-hô-va. 6Thật Chúa đã bỏ dân Ngài, là nhà Gia-cốp, vì họ đầy dẫy tục phương đông, và bói khoa như người Phi-li-tin, lại giao ước với con cái dân ngoại. 7Xứ nó đầy bạc và vàng, của cải vô cùng; xứ nó đầy những ngữa, xe cộ vô số. 8Xứ nó chan chứa những hình tượng, họ thờ lạy đồ tay mình làm ra, đồ ngón tay mình tạo nên. 9Kẻ hèn sẽ bị khuất, người sang sẽ bị hạ mình; vậy Chúa đừng tha họ! 10Ngươi khá vào nơi vầng đá, ẩn mình trong bụi đất, đặng tránh khỏi sự kinh khiếp Ðức Giê-hô-va và sự chói sáng của uy nghiêm Ngài. 11Con mắt ngó cao của loài người sẽ bị thấp xuống, sự kiêu ngạo của người ta sẽ bị hạ đi; trong ngày đó chỉ Ðức Giê-hô-va là tôn trọng. 12Vì sẽ có một ngày của Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân đến trên mọi vật kiêu căng, ngạo mạn, tự cao; nó sẽ bị hạ xuống; 13lại đến trên mọi cây dẽ của Ba-san; 14cùng trên mọi núi cao, mọi đồi cả, 15trên mọi tháp cao và mọi vách thành vững bền, 16trên mọi tàu bè của Ta-rê-si, và mọi vật chi đẹp mắt. 17Sự tự cao của loài người sẽ bị dằn xuống, và sự cậy mình của người ta sẽ bị hạ đi; trong ngày đó chỉ Ðức Giê-hô-va là tôn trọng. 18Bấy giờ các thần tượng sẽ qua hết đi. 19Người ta sẽ vào trong hang đá, trong hầm đất, đặng tránh khỏi sự kinh khiếp Ðức Giê-hô-va và sẽ chói sáng của uy nghiêm Ngài, khi Ngài dấy lên đặng làm rúng động đất cách mạnh lắm. 20Trong ngày đó, người ta sẽ ném cho chuột cho dơi những thần tượng bằng bạc bằng vàng mà họ làm ra cho mình thờ lạy; 21và vào trong hang đá, trong kẽ đá, đặng tránh khỏi sự kinh khiếp Ðức Giê-hô-va và sự chói sáng của uy nghiêm Ngài, khi Ngài dấy lên đặng làm rúng động đất cách mạnh lắm. 22Chớ cậy ở loài người, là loài có hơi thở trong lỗ mũi; vì họ nào có đáng kể gì đâu?
1This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of Yahweh’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. 3Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go out, and Yahweh’s word from Jerusalem. 4He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5House of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of Yahweh. 6For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners. 7Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots. 8Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made. 9Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them. 10Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty. 11The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the haughtiness of men will be bowed down, and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day. 12For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low: 13For all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan, 14For all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up, 15For every lofty tower, for every fortified wall, 16For all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery. 17The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day. 18The idols shall utterly pass away. 19Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily. 20In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21To go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily. 22Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
1Het woord, dat Jesaja, de zoon van Amoz, gezien heeft over Juda en Jeruzalem. 2En het zal geschieden in het laatste der dagen, dat de berg van het huis des HEEREN zal vastgesteld zijn op den top der bergen, en dat hij zal verheven worden boven de heuvelen, en tot denzelven zullen alle heidenen toevloeien. 3En vele volken zullen heengaan en zeggen: Komt, laat ons opgaan tot den berg des HEEREN, tot het huis van den God Jakobs, opdat Hij ons lere van Zijn wegen, en dat wij wandelen in Zijn paden; want uit Sion zal de wet uitgaan, en des HEEREN woord uit Jeruzalem. 4En Hij zal rechten onder de heidenen, en bestraffen vele volken; en zij zullen hun zwaarden slaan tot spaden, en hun spiesen tot sikkelen; het ene volk zal tegen het andere volk geen zwaard opheffen, en zij zullen geen oorlog meer leren. 5Komt, gij huis van Jakob, en laat ons wandelen in het licht des HEEREN. 6Maar Gij hebt Uw volk, het huis van Jakob, verlaten, want zij zijn vervuld met goddeloosheid, meer dan het oosten, en zij zijn guichelaars gelijk de Filistijnen, en aan de kinderen der vreemden tonen zij hun behagen. 7En hun land is vervuld met zilver en goud, en hunner schatten is geen einde; hun land is ook vervuld met paarden, en hunner wagenen is geen einde. 8Ook is hun land vervuld met afgoden; voor het werk hunner handen buigen zij zich neder, voor hetgeen hun vingeren gemaakt hebben. 9Daar bukt zich de gemene man, en de aanzienlijke man vernedert zich; daarom zult Gij het hun niet vergeven. 10Ga in den rotssteen, en verberg u in het stof, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en om de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit. 11De hoge ogen de mensen zullen vernederd worden, en de hoogheid der mannen zal nedergebogen worden; en de HEERE alleen zal in dien dag verheven zijn. 12Want de dag des HEEREN der heirscharen zal zijn tegen allen hovaardige en hoge, en tegen allen verhevene, opdat hij vernederd worde; 13En tegen alle hoge en verhevene cederen van Libanon, en tegen alle eiken van Basan; 14En tegen alle hoge bergen, en tegen alle verhevene heuvelen; 15En tegen allen hogen toren, en tegen allen vasten muur; 16En tegen alle schepen van Tarsis, en tegen alle gewenste schilderijen. 17En de hoogheid der mensen zal gebogen, en de hoogheid der mannen zal vernederd worden; en de HEERE alleen zal in die dag verheven zijn. 18En elkeen der afgoden zal ganselijk vergaan. 19Dan zullen zij in de spelonken der rotsstenen gaan, en in de holen der aarde, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en vanwege de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit, wanneer Hij Zich opmaken zal, om de aarde te verschrikken. 20In dien dag zal de mens zijn zilveren afgoden, en zijn gouden afgoden, welke zij zich gemaakt hadden, om zich daarvoor neder te buigen, wegwerpen voor de mollen en de vledermuizen; 21Gaande in de reten der rotsen en in de kloven der steenrotsen, vanwege den schrik des HEEREN, en vanwege de heerlijkheid Zijner majesteit, wanneer Hij Zich opmaken zal, om de aarde geweldiglijk te verschrikken. 22Laat gijlieden dan af van den mens, wiens adem in zijn neus is, want waarin is hij te achten?
