1E sucedeu no sexto ano, no sexto mês ,aos cinco do mês, estando eu sentado em minha casa, e os anciãos de Judá estavam sentados diante de mim, que ali a mão do Senhor DEUS caiu sobre mim . 2E olhei, e eis uma semelhança, com aparência de fogo; desde a aparência de sua cintura para baixo, era fogo; e desde sua cintura para cima, com a aparência de um resplendor, como a cor de âmbar. 3E estendeu a forma de uma mão, e tomou-me pelos cabelos de minha cabeça; e o espírito me levantou entre a terra e o céu, e me trouxe a Jerusalém em visões de Deus, até a entrada da porta de dentro que está voltada ao norte, onde estava o lugar da imagem dos ciúmes, que provoca ciúmes. 4E eis que a a glória do Deus de Israel estava ali, conforme a visão que eu tinha visto no vale. 5E disse-me: Filho do homem, levanta agora teus olhos para o norte. E levantei meus olhos para o norte, e eis que ao lado norte, junto à porta do altar, estava a imagem dos ciúmes na entrada. 6Então me disse: Filho do homem, vês tu o que eles estão fazendo? As grandes abominações que a casa de Israel faz aqui, para me afastar de meu santuário? Porém ainda voltarás a ver abominações maiores. 7E levou-me à porta do pátio; então olhei, e eis que havia um buraco na parede. 8E disse-me: Filho do homem, cava agora naquela parede. E cavei na parede, e eis que havia uma porta. 9Então me disse: Entra, e vê as malignas abominações que eles fazem aqui. 10E entrei, e olhei, e eis toda figura de répteis, e animais abomináveis, e todos os ídolos da casa de Israel, que estavam pintados na parede ao redor. 11E diante deles estavam setenta homens dos anciãos da casa de Israel, com Jazanias filho de Safã, que estava no meio deles, cada um com seu incensário em sua mão; e uma espessa nuvem de perfume subia. 12Então me disse: Filho do homem, viste as coisas que os anciãos da casa de Israel fazem nas trevas, cada um em suas câmaras pintadas? Pois eles dizem: O SENHOR não nos vê; o SENHOR abandonou a terra. 13E disse-me: Ainda voltarás a ver abominações maiores que estes fazem. 14E me levou à entrada da porta da casa do SENHOR, que está ao lado norte; e eis ali mulheres que estavam sentadas, chorando a Tamuz. 15Então me disse: Viste isto ,filho do homem? Ainda voltarás a ver abominações maiores que estas. 16E ele me levou ao pátio de dentro da casa do SENHOR; e eis que estavam à entrada do templo do SENHOR, entre o pórtico e o altar, cerca de vinte e cinco homens, com suas costas voltadas ao templo do SENHOR e seus rostos ao oriente, e eles se prostravam ao oriente, para o sol. 17Então me disse: Viste isto ,filho do homem? Por acaso é pouco para a casa de Judá fazer as abominações que fazem aqui? Pois eles têm enchido a terra de violência, e voltam a irritar-me, porque eis que põem o ramo em suas narinas. 18Por isso eu também os tratarei com furor; meu olho não poupará, nem terei compaixão; e ainda que gritem em meus ouvidos com alta voz, mesmo assim não os ouvirei.
1In the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, the Lord Yahweh’s hand fell there on me. 2Then I saw, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his waist and downward, fire; and from his waist and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal. 3He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north; where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy. 4Behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain. 5Then he said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and see, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry. 6He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel do commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you shall again see yet other great abominations. 7He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall. 8Then he said to me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold, a door. 9He said to me, Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here. 10So I went in and saw; and see, every form of creeping things, and abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall. 11There stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel; and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, every man with his censer in his hand; and the odor of the cloud of incense went up. 12Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? for they say, Yahweh doesn’t see us; Yahweh has forsaken the land. 13He said also to me, You shall again see yet other great abominations which they do. 14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and see, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz. 15Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? You shall again see yet greater abominations than these. 16He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and see, at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple, and their faces toward the east; and they were worshiping the sun toward the east. 17Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger: and behold, they put the branch to their nose. 18Therefore will I also deal in wrath; my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
1Het geschiedde nu in het zesde jaar, in de zesde maand, op den vijfden der maand, als ik in mijn huis zat, en de oudsten van Juda voor mijn aangezicht zaten, dat de hand des Heeren HEEREN daar over mij viel. 2Toen zag ik, en ziet, een gelijkenis, als de gedaante van vuur; van de gedaante Zijner lenden en nederwaarts was vuur; en van Zijn lenden en opwaarts, als de gedaante ener klaarheid, als de verf van Hasmal. 3En Hij stak de gelijkenis ener hand uit, en nam mij bij het haar mijns hoofds; en de Geest voerde mij op tussen de aarde en tussen den hemel, en bracht mij in de gezichten Gods te Jeruzalem, tot de deur der poort van het binnenste voorhof, dewelke ziet naar het noorden, alwaar de zitplaats was van een beeld der ijvering, dat tot ijver verwekt. 4En ziet, de heerlijkheid des Gods van Israel was aldaar, naar de gedaante, die ik in de vallei gezien had. 5En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, hef nu uw ogen op naar den weg van het noorden; en ik hief mijn ogen op naar den weg van het noorden, en ziet, tegen het noorden aan de poort van het altaar was dit beeld der ijvering, in den ingang. 6En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, ziet gij wel, wat zij doen, de grote gruwelen, die het huis Israels hier doet, opdat Ik van Mijn heiligdom verre wegga? Doch gij zult nog wederom grote gruwelen zien. 7Zo bracht Hij mij tot de deur van het voorhof. Toen zag ik, en ziet, er was een hol in den wand. 8En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, graaf nu in dien wand. En ik groef in dien wand, en ziet, daar was een deur. 9Toen zeide Hij tot mij: Ga in, en zie de boze gruwelen, die zij hier doen. 10Zo ging ik in, en ik zag, en ziet, er was alle beeltenis van kruipende dieren en verfoeilijke beesten, en van alle drekgoden van het huis Israels, geheel rondom aan den wand gemaald. 11En zeventig mannen uit de oudsten van het huis Israels, met Jaazanja, den zoon van Safan, staande in het midden van hen, stonden voor hun aangezichten; en een ieder had zijn rookvat in zijn hand, en een overvloedige wolk des reukwerks ging op. 12Toen zeide Hij tot mij: Hebt gij gezien, mensenkind, wat de oudsten van het huis Israels doen in de duisternis, een ieder in zijn gebeelde binnenkameren? want zij zeggen: De HEERE ziet ons niet, de HEERE heeft het land verlaten. 13En Hij zeide tot mij: Gij zult nog wederom grote gruwelen zien, die zij doen. 14En Hij bracht mij tot de deur der poort van het huis des HEEREN, die naar het noorden is, en ziet, daar zaten vrouwen, bewenende den Thammuz. 15En Hij zeide tot mij: Hebt gij, mensenkind, dat gezien? Gij zult nog wederom grotere gruwelen zien dan deze. 16En Hij bracht mij tot het binnenste voorhof van het huis des HEEREN; en ziet, aan de deur van den tempel des HEEREN, tussen het voorhuis en tussen het altaar, waren omtrent vijf en twintig mannen; hun achterste leden waren naar den tempel des HEEREN, en hun aangezichten naar het oosten, en deze bogen zich neder naar het oosten voor de zon. 17Toen zeide Hij tot mij: Hebt gij, mensenkind, dat gezien? Is er iets lichter geacht bij het huis van Juda, dan deze gruwelen te doen, die zij hier doen? Als zij het land met geweld vervuld hebben, zo keren zij zich, om Mij te vertoornen; want zie, zij steken de wijnranken aan hun neus. 18Daarom zal Ik ook handelen in grimmigheid, Mijn oog zal niet verschonen, en Ik zal niet sparen; hoewel zij voor Mijn oren met luider stem roepen, nochtans zal Ik hen niet horen.
