1E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo: 2Filho do homem, dirige teu rosto contra o monte de Seir, e profetiza contra ele, 3E dize-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó monte de Seir; estenderei minha mão contra ti, e te tornarei em desolação e devastação. 4Tornarei as tuas cidades em ruínas, e tu serás desolado; e saberás que eu sou o SENHOR. 5Porque tiveste inimizade perpétua, e fizeste os filhos de Israel serem dispersos pelo poder da espada no tempo de sua aflição, no tempo do castigo final. 6Por isso, vivo eu, diz o Senhor DEUS, que eu te preparei para o sangue, e o sangue te perseguirá; dado que não odiaste o sangue, o sangue te perseguirá. 7E tornarei o monte de Seir em extrema desolação, e exterminarei quem passar por ele ,e quem voltar por ele . 8E encherei seus montes de seus mortos; em teus morros, em teus vales, e em todas as tuas correntes de águas, cairão os mortos à espada. 9Eu te tornarei em desolações perpétuas, e tuas cidades nunca mais serão habitadas; assim sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR. 10Dado que disseste: As duas nações, as duas terras serão minhas, e delas tomaremos posse, ainda que o SENHOR ali estivesse; 11Por isso, vivo eu, diz o Senhor DEUS, que agirei conforme tua ira e conforme tua inveja com que agiste, por causa de teu ódio contra eles; e serei conhecido por entre eles, quando eu te julgar. 12E saberás que eu, o SENHOR, ouvi todas as tuas blasfêmias que disseste contra os montes de Israel, dizendo: Já estão destruídos; já nos foram entregues para que os devoremos. 13Assim vos engradecestes contra mim com vossa boca, e multiplicastes vossas palavras contra mim. Eu ouvi. 14Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Enquanto toda a terra se alegrará, eu te tornarei em desolação. 15Tal como te alegraste sobre a herança da casa de Israel, porque foi desolada, assim eu também farei a ti; o monte de Seir, e todo o Edom se tornarão em desolação; e saberão que eu sou o SENHOR.
1Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment. 4I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 5Because you have had a perpetual hostility, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; 6therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns. 8I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword. 9I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 10Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there: 11therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you. 12You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour. 13You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. 14Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
1Wijders geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zet uw aangezicht tegen het gebergte Seir, en profeteer tegen hetzelve, 3En zeg tot hetzelve: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o gebergte Seir! en Ik zal Mijn hand tegen u uitstrekken, en zal u stellen tot een verwoesting en een schrik. 4Ik zal uw steden stellen tot eenzaamheid, en gij zult een verwoesting worden, en zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 5Omdat gij een eeuwige vijandschap hebt, en hebt de kinderen Israels doen wegvloeien door het geweld des zwaards, ten tijde huns verderfs, ten tijde der uiterste ongerechtigheid; 6Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE; Ik zal u voorzeker ten bloede bereiden, en het bloed zal u vervolgen; alzo gij het bloed niet hebt gehaat, zal u het bloed ook vervolgen. 7En Ik zal het gebergte Seir tot de uiterste verwoesting stellen; en Ik zal uit hetzelve uitroeien dien, die er doorgaat, en dien, die wederkeert. 8En Ik zal zijn bergen met zijn verslagenen vervullen; uw heuvelen, en uw dalen, en al uw stromen, in dezelve zullen de verslagenen van het zwaard liggen. 9Tot eeuwige verwoestingen zal Ik u stellen, en uw steden zullen niet bewoond worden; alzo zult gij weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 10Omdat gij zegt: Die twee volken en die twee landen zullen mij geworden, en wij zullen ze erfelijk bezitten, ofschoon de HEERE daar ware; 11Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE: Ik zal ook handelen naar uw toorn en naar uw nijdigheid, die gij uit uw haat tegen hen hebt te werk gesteld; en Ik zal bij hen bekend worden, wanneer Ik u zal gericht hebben. 12En gij zult weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, al uw lasteringen gehoord heb, die gij tegen de bergen Israels gesproken hebt, zeggende: Zij zijn verwoest, zij zijn ons ter spijze gegeven. 13Alzo hebt gij u met uw mond tegen Mij groot gemaakt, en uw woorden tegen Mij vermenigvuldigd; Ik heb het gehoord. 14Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Gelijk het ganse land verblijd is, alzo zal Ik u de verwoesting aandoen. 15Gelijk gij u verblijd hebt over de erfenis van het huis Israels, omdat zij verwoest is, alzo zal Ik aan u doen; het gebergte van Seir, en gans Edom, zal geheel een verwoesting worden; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
