1E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo: 2Filho do homem, dirige teu rosto contra Jerusalém, pronuncia contra os santuários, e profetiza contra a terra de Israel; 3E dize à terra de Israel: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu sou contra ti, e tirarei minha espada de sua bainha, e exterminarei de ti o justo e o perverso. 4E dado que exterminarei de ti ao justo e o perverso, por isso minha espada sairá de sua bainha contra todos, desde o sul até o norte. 5E todos saberão que eu, o SENHOR, tirei minha espada de sua bainha; ela nunca mais voltará. 6Porém tu, filho do homem, suspira com quebrantamento de lombos, e com amargura; suspira diante dos olhos deles. 7E será que, quando te disserem: Por que tu suspiras? Então dirás: Por causa da notícia que vêm; e todo coração se dissolverá, todas as mãos se enfraquecerão, todo espírito se angustiará, e todos joelhos se desfarão em águas; eis que já vem, e ela se cumprirá, diz o Senhor DEUS 8E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo: 9Filho do homem, profetiza, e dize: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Dize: A espada, a espada está afiada, e também polida; 10Para degolar matança está afiada, para reluzir como relâmpago está polida. Por acaso nos alegraremos? A vara de meu filho despreza toda árvore. 11E ele a deu para polir, para usar dela com a mão; esta espada está afiada, e esta polida está, para a entregar na mão do matador. 12Grita e uiva, ó filho do homem; porque esta será contra meu povo, será contra todos os príncipes de Israel. Entregues à de espada são os do meu povo; portanto bate na coxa. 13Pois tem que haver provação. E o que seria se a vara que despreza não mais existir?diz o Senhor DEUS. 14Por isso tu, filho do homem, profetiza, e bate uma mão com outra; por que a espada se dobrará até a terceira vez, a espada dos que forem mortos; esta é espada da grande matança que os cercará, 15Para que os corações desmaiem, e os tropeços se multipliquem; eu pus a ponta da espada contra todas as suas portas. Ah! Ela feita foi para reluzir, e preparada está para degolar. 16Ó espada ,move-te; vira-te à direita, prepara-te, vira-te à esquerda, para onde quer que tua face te apontar. 17E também eu baterei minhas mãos uma com a outra, e farei descansar minha ira. Eu, o SENHOR, falei. 18E veio a mim a palavra de SENHOR, dizendo: 19E tu, filho do homem, propõe para ti dois caminhos por onde venha a espada do rei da Babilônia; ambos procederão de uma mesma terra; e põe um marco num lugar, põe um marco no começo do caminho da cidade. 20Propõe um caminho, por onde venha a espada contra Rabá dos filhos de Amom, e contra Judá, contra a fortificada Jerusalém. 21Porque o rei de Babilônia parará em uma encruzilhada, no começo de dois caminhos, para usar de adivinhação; ele sacudiu flechas, consultou ídolos, olhou o fígado. 22A adivinhação será para a direita, sobre Jerusalém, para ordenar capitães, para abrir a boca à matança, para levantar a voz em grito, para pôr aríetes contra as portas, para levantar cercos, e edificar fortificações. 23E isto será como uma adivinhação falsa aos olhos daqueles que com juramentos firmaram compromisso com eles; porém ele se lembrará da maldade, para que sejam presos. 24Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Dado que fizestes relembrar vossas maldades, manifestando vossas rebeliões, e revelando vossos pecados em todas vossos atos; por teres feito relembrar, sereis presos com a mão. 25E tu, profano e perverso príncipe de Israel, cujo dia do tempo do fim da maldade virá, 26Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Tira o turbante, tira a coroa; esta não será a mesma; ao humilde exaltarei, e ao exaltado humilharei. 27Ruína! Ruína! Ruína a farei; e ela não será restaurada , até que venha aquele a quem lhe pertence por direito, e a ele a darei. 28E tu, filho do homem, profetiza, e dize: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS sobre os filhos de Amom, e sua humilhação; Dize pois: A espada, a espada está desembainhada, polida para a matança, para destruir, para reluzir como relâmpago, 29Enquanto te profetizam falsidade, enquanto te adivinham mentira; para te porem sobre os pescoços dos perversos condenados à morte, cujo dia virá no tempo do fim da maldade. 30Torna tua espada à sua bainha! No lugar onde foste criado, na terra de teu nascimento eu te julgarei. 31E derramarei sobre ti minha ira; assoprarei contra ti o fogo do meu furor, e te entregarei na mão de homens violentos, habilidosos em destruir. 32Para o fogo tu serás combustível; teu sangue estará no meio da terra; não haverá memória de ti; porque eu, o SENHOR, falei.
1Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel; 3and tell the land of Israel, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, and will draw my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked. 4Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: 5and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, have drawn my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more. 6Sigh therefore, you son of man; with the breaking of your thighs and with bitterness you will sigh before their eyes. 7It shall be, when they tell you, Why do you sigh? that you shall say, Because of the news, for it comes; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh. 8Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 9Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says Yahweh: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished; 10it is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it condemns every tree. 11It is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yes, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the killer. 12Cry and wail, son of man; for it is on my people, it is on all the princes of Israel: they are delivered over to the sword with my people; strike therefore on your thigh. 13For there is a trial; and what if even the rod that condemns shall be no more? says the Lord Yahweh. 14You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one who is deadly wounded, which enters into their rooms. 15I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter. 16Gather yourselves together, go to the right, set yourselves in array, go to the left, wherever your face is set. 17I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest: I, Yahweh, have spoken it. 18Yahweh’s word came to me again, saying, 19Also, you son of man, appoint two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they both shall come out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city. 20You shall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified. 21For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows back and forth, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver. 22In his right hand was the lot for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts. 23It shall be to them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths to them; but he brings iniquity to memory, that they may be taken. 24Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because you have come to memory, you shall be taken with the hand. 25You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end, 26thus says the Lord Yahweh: Remove the turban, and take off the crown; this will not be as it was; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high. 27I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it. 28You, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning; 29while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day has come in the time of the iniquity of the end. 30Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, will I judge you. 31I will pour out my indignation on you; I will blow on you with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver you into the hand of brutish men, skillful to destroy. 32You shall be for fuel to the fire; your blood shall be in the midst of the land; you shall be remembered no more: for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.
1En des HEEREN woord geschiedde tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zet uw aangezicht tegen Jeruzalem, en drup tegen de heiligdommen, en profeteer tegen het land van Israel; 3En zeg tot het land van Israel: Alzo zegt de HEERE: Ziet, Ik wil aan u, en Ik zal Mijn zwaard uit zijn schede trekken; en Ik zal van u uitroeien den rechtvaardige en den goddeloze. 4Omdat Ik dan van u uitroeien zal den rechtvaardige en den goddeloze, daarom zal Mijn zwaard uit zijn schede uitgaan tegen alle vlees, van het zuiden tot het noorden. 5En alle vlees zal weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, Mijn zwaard uit zijn schede getrokken heb; het zal niet meer wederkeren. 6Maar gij, mensenkind, zucht; zucht voor hun ogen met verbreking der lenden en met bitterheid. 7En het zal geschieden, als zij tot u zeggen zullen: Waarom zucht gij, dat gij zeggen zult: Om het gerucht, want het komt! en alle hart zal versmelten, en alle handen zullen verslappen, en alle geest zal inkrimpen, en alle knieen als water henenvlieten; ziet, het komt, en het zal geschieden, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 8Wederom geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 9Mensenkind, profeteer en zeg: Alzo zegt de HEERE: Zeg: Het zwaard, het zwaard is gescherpt, en ook geveegd. 10Het is gescherpt, opdat het een slachting slachte; het is geveegd, opdat het een glinster hebbe; of wij dan zullen vrolijk zijn? het is de roede Mijns Zoons, die alle hout versmaadt. 11En Hij heeft hetzelve te vegen gegeven, opdat men het met de hand handelen zou; dat zwaard is gescherpt, en dat is geveegd, om hetzelve in de hand des doodslagers te geven. 12Schreeuw en huil, o mensenkind, want hetzelve zal zijn tegen Mijn volk, het zal zijn tegen al de vorsten van Israel; verschrikkingen zullen vanwege het zwaard bij Mijn volk zijn; daarom klop op de heup. 13Als er beproeving was, wat was het toen? Zou er dan ook geen versmadende roede zijn, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 14Daarom gij, mensenkind, profeteer, en sla hand tegen hand; want het zwaard zal verdubbeld worden ten derden male, het is het zwaard dergenen, die verslagen zullen worden; het is het zwaard der groten, die verslagen zullen worden, dat tot hen in de binnenste kameren indringen zal. 15Ik heb de punt des zwaards gezet tegen al hun poorten, opdat het hart versmelte, en de aanstoten vermenigvuldigen; ach, het is toegemaakt, opdat het glinstere, het is ingewonden om te slachten. 16Houd u bijeen, o zwaard! keer u rechtsom, schik u, keer u linksom, waarhenen uw aangezicht gesteld is. 17En Ik Zelf zal ook Mijn hand tegen Mijn hand slaan, en Mijn grimmigheid doen rusten; Ik, de HEERE, heb het gesproken. 18Wederom geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 19Gij nu, mensenkind, stel u twee wegen voor, waardoor het zwaard des konings van Babel komt; uit een land zullen zij beide voortkomen; en kies een zijde, kies ze aan het hoofd van den weg der stad. 20Gij zult een weg voorstellen, waardoor het zwaard inkomen zal tegen Rabba der kinderen Ammons, of tegen Juda, tot de vaste stad Jeruzalem. 21Want de koning van Babel zal aan de wegscheiding staan, aan het hoofd van de twee wegen, om waarzegging te gebruiken; hij zal zijn pijlen slijpen; hij zal de terafim vragen, hij zal de lever bezien. 22De waarzegging zal aan zijn rechterhand zijn op Jeruzalem, om hoofdmannen te stellen, om den mond te openen in het doodslaan, om de stem op te heffen met gejuich, om stormrammen te stellen tegen de poorten, om sterkten op te werpen, om bolwerken te bouwen. 23Dit zal hun in hun ogen als een ijdel waarzeggen zijn, omdat zij met eden beedigd zijn onder hen; maar hij zal der ongerechtigheid gedenken, opdat zij gegrepen worden. 24Daarom zegt de Heere HEERE alzo: Omdat gijlieden uwer ongerechtigheid doet gedenken, doordien uw overtredingen ontdekt worden, zodat uw zonden gezien worden in al uw handelingen; omdat uwer gedacht wordt, zult gij met de hand gegrepen worden. 25En gij, o onheilig, goddeloos vorst van Israel, wiens dag komen zal, ten tijde der uiterste ongerechtigheid; 26Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Doe dien hoed weg, en hef dien kroon af, deze zal dezelfde niet wezen; Ik zal verhogen dien, die nederig is, en vernederen dien, die hoog is. 27Ik zal die kroon omgekeerd, omgekeerd, omgekeerd stellen; ja, zij zal niet zijn, totdat hij kome, die daartoe recht heeft, en dien Ik dat geven zal. 28En gij, mensenkind, profeteer en zeg: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE, van de kinderen Ammons, en van hun smading; zo zeg: Het zwaard, het zwaard is uitgetrokken, het is ter slachting geveegd om te verdoen, om te glinsteren; 29Terwijl zij u ijdelheid zien, terwijl zij u leugen voorzeggen, om u op de halzen te stellen dergenen, die van de goddelozen verslagen zijn, welker dag gekomen was ten tijde der uiterste ongerechtigheid. 30Keer uw zwaard weder in zijn schede!
