Ezequiel 1

1E sucedeu que, aos trinta anos, no quarto mês , aos cinco do mês, estando eu em meio dos exilados, junto ao rio Quebar, os céus se abriram, e vi visões de Deus. 2Aos cinco do mês, que foi no quinto ano do cativeiro do rei Joaquim, 3verdadeiramente veio a palavra do SENHOR ao sacerdote Ezequiel, filho de Buzi, na terra dos caldeus, junto ao rio Quebar; e ali a mão do SENHOR esteve sobre ele. 4Então olhei, e eis que um vento tempestuoso vinha do norte, uma grande nuvem, e um fogo incandescente, e ao seu redor um resplendor, e no meio do fogo uma coisa que parecia como de âmbar, 5E no meio dela havia a semelhança de quatro animais; e esta era sua aparência; eles tinham semelhança humana. 6E cada um tinha quatro rostos, e cada um quatro asas. 7E suas pernas eram retas, e a planta de seus pés como a planta de pé de bezerro; e reluziam como o bronze polido. 8E tinham mãos humanas debaixo de suas asas, em seus quatro lados; assim os quatro tinham seus rostos e suas asas. 9Suas asas se juntavam umas às outras. Não viravam quando se moviam; cada um andava na direção de seu rosto. 10E a aparência de seus rostos era como rosto de homem; e rosto de leão à direita nos quatro; e à esquerda rosto de boi nos quatro; também havia nos quatro um rosto de águia; 11Assim eram seus rostos. E suas asas estavam estendidas por cima, cada um duas, as quais se juntavam; e as outras duas cobriam seus corpos. 12E cada um se movia na direção de seu rosto; para onde o espírito se dirigia, eles iam; não viravam quando se moviam. 13Quanto à semelhança dos animais, sua aparência era como pedaços de carvão acesos, como aparência de tochas acesas; o fogo se movia entre os animais; e brilhava intensamente, e do fogo saíam relâmpagos. 14E os animais corriam e voltavam, à semelhança de relâmpagos. 15E enquanto eu estava vendo os animais, eis que uma roda estava na terra junto aos animais, junto a seus quatro rostos. 16E a aparência das rodas, e sua feitura, era como da cor do berilo; e as quatro tinham uma mesma semelhança; sua aparência e sua obra era como se uma roda estivesse no meio de outra roda. 17Quando andavam, moviam-se sobre seus quatro lados; não viravam quando se moviam. 18E seus aros eram altos e espantosos; e seus aros estavam cheios de olhos ao redor das quatro rodas . 19E quando os animais andavam, as rodas andavam junto a eles: e quando os animais se levantavam da terra, levantavam-se também as rodas. 20Para onde o espírito queria ir, iam, para onde era o espírito ia; e as rodas também se levantavam com eles, pois o espírito dos animais estava nas rodas. 21Quando eles andavam, elas andavam; e quando eles paravam, elas paravam; e quando se levantavam da terra, as rodas se levantavam com eles; pois o espírito dos animais estava nas rodas. 22E sobre as cabeças dos animais havia algo semelhante a um firmamento, da cor de um cristal espantoso, estendido acima sobre suas cabeças. 23E debaixo do firmamento estavam suas asas deles estendidas uma à outra; a cada um tinha duas, e outras duas com que cobriam seus corpos. 24E ouvi o ruído de suas asas quando se moviam, como o som de muitas águas, como a voz do Onipotente, o ruído de uma multidão, como o som de um exército. Quando paravam, abaixavam suas asas. 25E quando se paravam e abaixavam suas asas, ouvia-se uma voz de cima do firmamento que estava sobre suas cabeças. 26E acima do firmamento que estava sobre suas cabeças, havia a figura de um trono, que parecia com a pedra de safira; e sobre a figura do trono havia uma semelhança que parecia com um homem sentado acima dele. 27E vi o que parecia com o âmbar, com a aparência de fogo ao seu redor do lado de dentro, da aparência de sua cintura para cima; e de sua cintura para baixo, vi que parecia como fogo, e havia um resplendor ao redor dele; 28Tal como a aparência do arco celeste, que surge nas nuvens em dia de chuva, assim era o aparência do resplendor ao redor. Esta foi a visão da semelhança da glória do SENHOR. E quando eu a vi, caí sobre meu rosto, e ouvi voz de um que falava.

1Now in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. 2In the fifth of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity, 3Yahweh’s word came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Yahweh was there on him. 4I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of its midst as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire. 5Out of its midst came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. 6Everyone had four faces, and each one of them had four wings. 7Their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot; and they sparkled like burnished brass. 8They had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and the four of them had their faces and their wings thus: 9their wings were joined one to another; they didn’t turn when they went; each one went straight forward. 10As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and the four of them had the face of a lion on the right side; and the four of them had the face of an ox on the left side; the four of them also had the face of an eagle. 11Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above. Two wings of each one touched another, and two covered their bodies. 12Each one went straight forward: where the spirit was to go, they went; they didn’t turn when they went. 13As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches: the fire went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and lightning went out of the fire. 14The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning. 15Now as I saw the living creatures, behold, one wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, for each of the four faces of it. 16The appearance of the wheels and their work was like a beryl: and the four of them had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel. 17When they went, they went in their four directions: they didn’t turn when they went. 18As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and the four of them had their rims full of eyes all around. 19When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20Wherever the spirit was to go, they went; there was the spirit to go: and the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. 21When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. 22Over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like the awesome crystal to look on, stretched out over their heads above. 23Under the expanse were their wings straight, the one toward the other: each one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies. 24When they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of an army: when they stood, they let down their wings. 25There was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads: when they stood, they let down their wings. 26Above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man on it above. 27I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it all around, from the appearance of his waist and upward; and from the appearance of his waist and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him. 28As the appearance of the rainbow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of Yahweh’s glory. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.

1In het dertigste jaar, in de vierde maand, op den vijfden derzelve maand, als ik in het midden der weggevoerden was bij de rivier Chebar, zo geschiedde het, dat de hemelen werden geopend, en ik gezichten Gods zag. 2Op den vijfden derzelve maand (dit was het vijfde jaar van de wegvoering van den koning Jojachin), 3Geschiedde het woord des HEEREN uitdrukkelijk tot Ezechiel, den zoon van Buzi, den priester, in het land der Chaldeen, bij de rivier Chebar; en de hand des HEEREN was daar op hem. 4Toen zag ik, en ziet, een stormwind kwam van het noorden af, een grote wolk, en een vuur daarin vervangen, en een glans was rondom die wolk; en uit het midden daarvan was als de verf van Hasmal, uit het midden des vuurs. 5En uit het midden daarvan kwam de gelijkenis van vier dieren; en dit was hun gedaante: zij hadden de gelijkenis van een mens; 6En elkeen had vier aangezichten; insgelijks had elkeen van hen vier vleugelen. 7En hun voeten waren rechte voeten, en hun voetplanten waren gelijk de voetplanten van een kalf, en glinsterden gelijk de verf van glad koper. 8En mensenhanden waren onder hun vleugelen, aan hun vier zijden; en die vier hadden hun aangezichten en hun vleugelen. 9Hun vleugelen waren samengevoegd, de een aan den ander; zij keerden zich niet om, als zij gingen; zij gingen elkeen recht uit voor zijn aangezicht henen. 10De gelijkenis nu van hun aangezicht was het aangezicht eens mensen, en het aangezicht eens leeuws hadden zij vier aan de rechterzijde; en ter linkerzijde hadden die vier eens ossen aangezicht; ook hadden die vier eens arends aangezicht. 11Ook waren hun aangezichten en hun vleugelen opwaarts verdeeld; elkeen had er twee samengevoegd aan de andere, en twee bedekten hun lichamen. 12En zij gingen elkeen rechtuit voor zijn aangezicht henen; waarhenen de geest was om te gaan, gingen zij; zij keerden zich niet om, als zij gingen. 13Aangaande de gelijkenis der dieren, hun gedaante was als brandende kolen des vuurs, als de gedaante der fakkelen; datzelve vuur ging steeds tussen die dieren; en het vuur had een glans, en uit het vuur kwam een bliksem voort. 14De dieren nu liepen en keerden weder als de gedaante van een weerlicht. 15Als ik die dieren zag, ziet, zo was er een rad op de aarde bij die dieren, naar vier aangezichten van hetzelve. 16De gedaante der raderen en derzelver maaksel was als de verf van een turkoois; en die vier hadden enerlei gelijkenis; daartoe was hun gedaante, en hun maaksel, alsof het ware een rad in het midden van een rad. 17Als zij gingen, zij gingen op hun vier zijden; zij keerden zich niet om, als zij gingen. 18En hun velgen, die waren zo hoog, dat zij vreselijk waren; en hun velgen waren vol ogen rondom aan die vier raderen. 19Als nu de dieren gingen, gingen de raderen bij hen; en als de dieren van de aarde opgeheven werden, werden de raderen opgeheven. 20Waarhenen de geest was om te gaan, gingen zij, waarhenen de geest was om te gaan; en de raderen werden tegenover hen opgeheven; want de geest der dieren was in de raderen. 21Als die gingen, gingen deze; en als die stonden, stonden zij; en als die van de aarde opgeheven werden, werden de raderen tegenover hen opgeheven; want de geest der dieren was in de raderen. 22En over de hoofden der dieren was de gelijkenis eens uitspansels, gelijk de verf van het vreselijke kristal, van boven af over hun hoofden uitgespreid. 23En onder dat uitspansel waren hun vleugelen rechtop, de een aan den ander; ieder had er twee, die herwaarts hun lichamen bedekten, en ieder had er twee, die ze derwaarts bedekten. 24En als zij gingen, hoorde ik een geruis hunner vleugelen, als het geruis van vele wateren, als de stem des Almachtigen, als de stem eens geroeps, als het gedreun eens heirlegers; als zij stonden, zo lieten zij hun vleugelen neder. 25En er geschiedde een stem van boven het uitspansel, hetwelk boven hun hoofden was, als zij stonden, en hun vleugelen nedergelaten hadden. 26En boven het uitspansel, hetwelk was boven hun hoofden, was de gelijkenis eens troons, als de gedaante van een saffiersteen; en op de gelijkenis als de gedaante eens mensen, daarboven op zijnde. 27En ik zag als de verf van Hasmal, als de gedaante van vuur rondom daarbinnen, van de gedaante Zijner lenden en opwaarts; en van de gedaante Zijner lenden en nederwaarts, zag ik als de gedaante van vuur, en glans aan Hem rondom. 28Gelijk de gedaante van den boog, die in de wolk is ten dage des plasregens, alzo was de gedaante van den glans rondom; dit was de gedaante van de gelijkenis der heerlijkheid des HEEREN; en als ik het zag, viel ik op mijn aangezicht, en ik hoorde een stem van Een, Die sprak.
