1Or Gesù, ripieno dello Spirito Santo, se ne ritornò dal Giordano, e fu condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto per quaranta giorni, ed era tentato dal diavolo. 2E durante quei giorni non mangiò nulla; e dopo che quelli furon trascorsi, ebbe fame. 3E il diavolo gli disse: Se tu sei Figliuol di Dio, di’ a questa pietra che diventi pane. 4E Gesù gli rispose: Sta scritto: Non di pane soltanto vivrà l’uomo. 5E il diavolo, menatolo in alto, gli mostrò in un attimo tutti i regni del mondo e gli disse: 6Ti darò tutta quanta questa potenza e la gloria di questi regni; perch’essa mi è stata data, e la do a chi voglio. 7Se dunque tu ti prostri ad adorarmi, sarà tutta tua. 8E Gesù, rispondendo, gli disse: Sta scritto: Adora il Signore Iddio tuo, e a lui solo rendi il tuo culto. 9Poi lo menò a Gerusalemme e lo pose sul pinnacolo del tempio e gli disse: Se tu sei Figliuolo di Dio, gettati giù di qui; 10perché sta scritto: Egli ordinerà ai suoi angeli intorno a te, che ti proteggano; 11ed essi ti porteranno sulle mani, che talora tu non urti col piede contro una pietra. 12E Gesù, rispondendo, gli disse: E’ stato detto: Non tentare il Signore Iddio tuo. 13Allora il diavolo, finita che ebbe ogni sorta di tentazione, si partì da lui fino ad altra occasione. 14E Gesù, nella potenza dello Spirito, se ne tornò in Galilea; e la sua fama si sparse per tutta la contrada circonvicina. 15E insegnava nelle loro sinagoghe, glorificato da tutti. 16E venne a Nazaret, dov’era stato allevato; e com’era solito, entrò in giorno di sabato nella sinagoga, e alzatosi per leggere, 17gli fu dato il libro del profeta Isaia; e aperto il libro trovò quel passo dov’era scritto: 18Lo Spirito del Signore è sopra me; per questo egli mi ha unto per evangelizzare i poveri; mi ha mandato a bandir liberazione a’ prigionieri, ed ai ciechi ricupero della vista; a rimettere in libertà gli oppressi, 19e a predicare l’anno accettevole del Signore. 20Poi, chiuso il libro e resolo all’inserviente, si pose a sedere; e gli occhi di tutti nella sinagoga erano fissi in lui. 21Ed egli prese a dir loro: Oggi, s’è adempiuta questa scrittura, e voi l’udite. 22E tutti gli rendeano testimonianza, e si maravigliavano delle parole di grazia che uscivano dalla sua bocca, e dicevano: Non è costui il figliuol di Giuseppe? 23Ed egli disse loro: Certo, voi mi citerete questo proverbio: Medico, cura te stesso; fa’ anche qui nella tua patria tutto quello che abbiamo udito essere avvenuto in Capernaum! 24Ma egli disse: In verità vi dico che nessun profeta è ben accetto nella sua patria. 25Anzi, vi dico in verità che ai dì d’Elia, quando il cielo fu serrato per tre anni e sei mesi e vi fu gran carestia in tutto il paese, c’eran molte vedove in Israele; 26eppure a nessuna di esse fu mandato Elia, ma fu mandato a una vedova in Sarepta di Sidon. 27E al tempo del profeta Eliseo, c’eran molti lebbrosi in Israele; eppure nessun di loro fu mondato, ma lo fu Naaman il Siro. 28E tutti, nella sinagoga, furon ripieni d’ira all’udir queste cose. 29E levatisi, lo cacciaron fuori della città, e lo menarono fin sul ciglio del monte sul quale era fabbricata la loro città, per precipitarlo giù. 30Ma egli, passando in mezzo a loro, se ne andò. 31E scese a Capernaum città di Galilea; e vi stava ammaestrando la gente nei giorni di sabato. 32Ed essi stupivano della sua dottrina perché parlava con autorità. 33Or nella sinagoga si trovava un uomo posseduto da uno spirito d’immondo demonio, il quale gridò con gran voce: Ahi! 34Che v’è fra noi e te, o Gesù Nazareno? E il demonio, gettatolo a terra in mezzo alla gente, uscì da lui senza fargli alcun male. 36E tutti furon presi da sbigottimento e ragionavan fra loro, dicendo: Qual parola è questa? Egli comanda con autorità e potenza agli spiriti immondi, ed essi escono. 37E la sua fama si spargeva in ogni parte della circostante contrada. 38Poi, levatosi ed uscito dalla sinagoga, entrò in casa di Simone. Or la suocera di Simone era travagliata da una gran febbre; e lo pregarono per lei. 39Ed egli, chinatosi verso di lei, sgridò la febbre, e la febbre la lasciò; ed ella alzatasi prontamente, si mise a servirli. 40E sul tramontar del sole, tutti quelli che aveano degli infermi di varie malattie, li menavano a lui; ed egli li guariva, imponendo le mani a ciascuno. 41Anche i demoni uscivano da molti gridando, e dicendo: Tu sei il Figliuol di Dio! Ed egli li sgridava e non permetteva loro di parlare, perché sapevano ch’egli era il Cristo. 42Poi, fattosi giorno, uscì e andò in un luogo deserto; e le turbe lo cercavano e giunsero fino a lui; e lo trattenevano perché non si partisse da loro. 43Ma egli disse loro: Anche alle altre città bisogna ch’io evangelizzi il regno di Dio; poiché per questo sono stato mandato. 44E andava predicando per le sinagoghe della Galilea.
1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness 2for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry. 3The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” 5The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. 7If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.” 8Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” 9He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here, 10for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’ 11and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’” 12Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” 13When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time. 14Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area. 15He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. 16He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written, 18“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, 19and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” 20He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” 22All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” 23He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’” 24He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. 25But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land. 26Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.” 28They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things. 29They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff. 30But he, passing through their midst, went his way. 31He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day, 32and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority. 33In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!” 35Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. 36Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!” 37News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region. 38He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her. 39He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them. 40When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. 41Demons also came out of many, crying out, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ. 42When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them. 43But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.” 44He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
1En Jezus, vol des Heiligen Geestes, keerde wederom van de Jordaan, en werd door den Geest geleid in de woestijn; 2En werd veertig dagen verzocht van den duivel; en at gans niet in die dagen, en als dezelve geeindigd waren, zo hongerde Hem ten laatste. 3En de duivel zeide tot Hem: Indien Gij Gods Zoon zijt, zeg tot dezen steen, dat hij brood worde. 4En Jezus antwoordde hem, zeggende: Er is geschreven, dat de mens bij brood alleen niet zal leven, maar bij alle woord Gods. 5En als Hem de duivel geleid had op een hogen berg, toonde hij Hem al de koninkrijken der wereld, in een ogenblik tijds. 6En de duivel zeide tot Hem: Ik zal U al deze macht, en de heerlijkheid derzelver koninkrijken geven; want zij is mij overgegeven, en ik geef ze, wien ik ook wil; 7Indien Gij dan mij zult aanbidden, zo zal het alles Uw zijn. 8En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hem: Ga weg van Mij, satan, want er is geschreven: Gij zult den Heere, uw God, aanbidden, en Hem alleen dienen. 9En hij leidde Hem naar Jeruzalem, en stelde Hem op de tinne des tempels, en zeide tot Hem: Indien Gij de Zoon Gods zijt, werp Uzelven van hier nederwaarts; 10Want er is geschreven, dat Hij Zijn engelen van U bevelen zal, dat zij U bewaren zullen; 11En dat zij U op de handen nemen zullen, opdat Gij Uw voet niet te eniger tijd aan een steen stoot. 12En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hem: Er is gezegd: Gij zult den Heere, uw God, niet verzoeken. 13En als de duivel alle verzoeking voleindigd had, week hij van Hem voor een tijd. 14En Jezus keerde wederom, door de kracht des Geestes, naar Galilea; en het gerucht van Hem ging uit door het gehele omliggende land. 15En Hij leerde in hun synagogen, en werd van allen geprezen. 16En Hij kwam te Nazareth, daar Hij opgevoed was, en ging, naar Zijn gewoonte, op den dag des sabbats in de synagoge; en stond op om te lezen. 17En Hem werd gegeven het boek van den profeet Jesaja; en als Hij het boek opengedaan had, vond Hij de plaats, daar geschreven was; 18De Geest des Heeren is op Mij, daarom heeft Hij Mij gezalfd; Hij heeft Mij gezonden, om den armen het Evangelie te verkondigen, om te genezen, die gebroken zijn van hart; 19Om den gevangenen te prediken loslating, en den blinden het gezicht, om de verslagenen heen te zenden in vrijheid; om te prediken het aangename jaar des Heeren. 20En als Hij het boek toegedaan en den dienaar wedergegeven had, zat Hij neder; en de ogen van allen in de synagoge waren op Hem geslagen. 21En Hij begon tot hen te zeggen: Heden is deze Schrift in uw oren vervuld. 22En zij gaven Hem allen getuigenis, en verwonderden zich over de aangename woorden, die uit Zijn mond voortkwamen; en zeiden: Is deze niet de Zoon van Jozef? 23En Hij zeide tot hen: Gij zult zonder twijfel tot Mij dit spreekwoord zeggen: Medicijnmeester, genees Uzelven; al wat wij gehoord hebben, dat in Kapernaum geschied is, doe dat ook hier in Uw vaderland. 24En Hij zeide: Voorwaar Ik zeg u, dat geen profeet aangenaam is in zijn vaderland. 25Maar Ik zeg u in der waarheid: Er waren vele weduwen in Israel in de dagen van Elias, toen de hemel drie jaren en zes maanden gesloten was, zodat er grote hongersnood werd over het gehele land. 26En tot geen van haar werd Elias gezonden, dan naar Sarepta Sidonis, tot een vrouw, die weduwe was. 27En er waren vele melaatsen in Israel, ten tijde van den profeet Elisa; en geen van hen werd gereinigd, dan Naaman, de Syrier. 28En zij werden allen in de synagoge met toorn vervuld, als zij dit hoorden. 29En opstaande, wierpen zij Hem uit, buiten de stad, en leidden Hem op den top des bergs, op denwelken hun stad gebouwd was, om Hem van de steilte af te werpen. 30Maar Hij, door het midden van hen doorgegaan zijnde, ging weg. 31En Hij kwam af te Kapernaum, een stad van Galilea, en leerde hen op de sabbatdagen. 32En zij versloegen zich over Zijn leer, want Zijn woord was met macht. 33En in de synagoge was een mens, hebbende een geest eens onreinen duivels; en hij riep uit met grote stemme, 34Zeggende: Laat af, wat hebben wij met U te doen, Gij Jezus Nazarener? Zijt Gij gekomen, om ons te verderven? Ik ken U, wie Gij zijt, namelijk de Heilige Gods. 35En Jezus bestrafte hem, zeggende: Zwijg stil, en ga van hem uit. En de duivel, hem in het midden geworpen hebbende, voer van hem uit, zonder hem iets te beschadigen. 36En er kwam een verbaasdheid over allen; en zij spraken samen tot elkander, zeggende: Wat woord is dit, dat Hij met macht en kracht den onreinen geesten gebiedt, en zij varen uit? 37En het gerucht van Hem ging uit in alle plaatsen des omliggenden lands. 38En Jezus, opgestaan zijnde uit de synagoge, ging in het huis van Simon; en Simons vrouws moeder was met een grote koorts bevangen, en zij baden Hem voor haar. 39En staande boven haar, bestrafte Hij de koorts, en de koorts verliet haar; en zij van stonde aan opstaande, diende henlieden. 40En als de zon onderging, brachten allen, die kranken hadden, met verscheidenen ziekten bevangen, die tot Hem, en Hij legde een iegelijk van hen de handen op, en genas dezelve. 41En er voeren ook duivelen uit van velen, roepende en zeggende: Gij zijt de Christus, de Zone Gods! En hen bestraffende, liet Hij die niet spreken, omdat zij wisten, dat Hij de Christus was. 42En als het dag werd, ging Hij uit, en trok naar een woeste plaats; en de scharen zochten Hem, en kwamen tot bij Hem, en hielden Hem op, dat Hij van hen niet zou weggaan. 43Maar Hij zeide tot hen: Ik moet ook anderen steden het Evangelie van het Koninkrijk Gods verkondigen; want daartoe ben Ik uitgezonden. 44En Hij predikte in de synagogen van Galilea.
