1Y RESPONDIÓ Job á Jehová, y dijo: 2Yo conozco que todo lo puedes, y que no hay pensamiento que se esconda de ti. 3¿Quién es el que oscurece el consejo sin ciencia? por tanto yo denunciaba lo que no entendía; cosas que me eran ocultas, y que no las sabía. 4Oye, te ruego, y hablaré: te preguntaré, y tú me enseñarás. 5De oídas te había oído; mas ahora mis ojos te ven. 6Por tanto me aborrezco, y me arrepiento en el polvo y en la ceniza. 7Y aconteció que después que habló Jehová estas palabras á Job, Jehová dijo á Eliphaz Temanita: Mi ira se encendió contra ti y tus dos compañeros: porque no habéis hablado por mí lo recto, como mi siervo Job. 8Ahora pues, tomaos siete becerros y siete carneros, y andad á mi siervo Job, y ofreced holocausto por vosotros, y mi siervo Job orará por vosotros; porque de cierto á él atenderé para no trataros afrentosamente, por cuanto no habéis hablado por mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job. 9Fueron pues Eliphaz Temanita, y Bildad Suhita, y Sophar Naamatita, é hicieron como Jehová les dijo: y Jehová atendió á Job. 10Y mudó Jehová la aflicción de Job, orando él por sus amigos: y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job. 11Y vinieron á él todos sus hermanos, y todas sus hermanas, y todos los que antes le habían conocido, y comieron con él pan en su casa, y condoliéronse de él, y consoláronle de todo aquel mal que sobre él había Jehová traído; y cada uno de ellos le dió una pieza de moneda, y un zarcillo de oro. 12Y bendijo Jehová la postrimería de Job más que su principio; porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, y seis mil camellos, y mil yuntas de bueyes, y mil asnas. 13Y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas. 14Y llamó el nombre de la una, Jemimah, y el nombre de la segunda, Cesiah, y el nombre de la tercera, Keren-happuch. 15Y no se hallaron mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job en toda la tierra: y dióles su padre herencia entre sus hermanos. 16Y después de esto vivió Job ciento y cuarenta años, y vió á sus hijos, y á los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación. 17Murió pues Job viejo, y lleno de días.
1Then Job answered Yahweh, 2“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained. 3You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know. 4You said, ‘Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’ 5I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you. 6Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” 7It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has. 8Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.” 9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job. 10Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before. 11Then came there to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold. 12So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. 13He had also seven sons and three daughters. 14He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren Happuch. 15In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. 16After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, to four generations. 17So Job died, being old and full of days.
1Toen antwoordde Job den HEERE, en zeide: 2Ik weet, dat Gij alles vermoogt, en dat geen van Uw gedachten kan afgesneden worden. 3Wie is hij, zegt Gij, die den raad verbergt zonder wetenschap? Zo heb ik dan verhaald, hetgeen ik niet verstond, dingen, die voor mij te wonderbaar waren, die ik niet wist. 4Hoor toch, en ik zal spreken; ik zal U vragen, en onderricht Gij mij. 5Met het gehoor des oors heb ik U gehoord; maar nu ziet U mijn oog. 6Daarom verfoei ik mij, en ik heb berouw in stof en as. 7Het geschiedde nu, nadat de HEERE die woorden tot Job gesproken had, dat de HEERE tot Elifaz, den Themaniet, zeide: Mijn toorn is ontstoken tegen u, en tegen uw twee vrienden, want gijlieden hebt niet recht van Mij gesproken, gelijk Mijn knecht Job. 8Daarom neemt nu voor ulieden zeven varren en zeven rammen, en gaat henen tot Mijn knecht Job, en offert brandoffer voor ulieden, en laat Mijn knecht Job voor ulieden bidden; want zekerlijk, Ik zal zijn aangezicht aannemen, opdat Ik aan ulieden niet doe naar uw dwaasheid; want gijlieden hebt niet recht van Mij gesproken, gelijk Mijn knecht Job. 9Toen gingen Elifaz, de Themaniet, en Bildad, de Suhiet, en Zofar, de Naamathiet, henen, en deden, gelijk als de HEERE tot hen gesproken had; en de HEERE nam het aangezicht van Job aan. 10En de HEERE wendde de gevangenis van Job, toen hij gebeden had voor zijn vrienden; en de HEERE vermeerderde al hetgeen Job gehad had tot dubbel zoveel. 11Ook kwamen tot hem al zijn broeders, en al zijn zusters, en allen, die hem te voren gekend hadden, en aten brood met hem in zijn huis, en beklaagden hem, en vertroostten hem over al het kwaad, dat de HEERE over hem gebracht had; en zij gaven hem een iegelijk een stuk gelds, een iegelijk ook een gouden voorhoofdsiersel. 12En de HEERE zegende Jobs laatste meer dan zijn eerste; want hij had veertien duizend schapen, en zes duizend kemelen, en duizend juk runderen, en duizend ezelinnen. 13Daartoe had hij zeven zonen en drie dochteren. 14En hij noemde den naam der eerste Jemima, en den naam der tweede Kezia, en den naam der derde Keren-Happuch. 15En er werden zo schone vrouwen niet gevonden in het ganse land, als de dochteren van Job; en haar vader gaf haar erfdeel onder haar broederen. 16En Job leefde na dezen honderd en veertig jaren, dat hij zag zijn kinderen, en de kinderen zijner kinderen, tot in vier geslachten. 17En Job stierf, oud en der dagen zat.
