1Kaj aperis al mi vorto de la Eternulo, dirante: 2Ho filo de homo, turnu vian vizaĝon al la monto Seir, kaj profetu pri ĝi; 3kaj diru al ĝi: Tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo: Jen Mi iras kontraŭ vin, ho monto Seir, kaj Mi etendos Mian manon kontraŭ vin kaj faros vin absoluta dezerto. 4Viajn urbojn Mi ruinigos, kaj vi mem dezertiĝos; kaj vi ekscios, ke Mi estas la Eternulo. 5Ĉar vi havis eternan malamon, kaj elmetadis la Izraelidojn al glavo en la tempo de ilia malfeliĉo, kiam iliaj malbonagoj finiĝis: 6tial, kiel Mi vivas, diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo, Mi faros vin sanganta, kaj sanga venĝo vin persekutos; ĉar vi ne malamis sangon, tial sanga venĝo vin persekutos. 7Kaj Mi faros la monton Seir absoluta dezerto, kaj Mi malaperigos sur ĝi ĉian pasanton. 8Mi plenigos ĝiajn altaĵojn de mortigitoj: sur viaj montetoj, en viaj valoj, kaj en ĉiuj viaj terfendoj kuŝos falintoj, mortigitaj de glavo. 9Mi faros vin eterna dezerto, kaj viaj urboj ne estos loĝataj; kaj vi ekscios, ke Mi estas la Eternulo. 10Pro tio, ke vi diris: Tiuj du popoloj kaj du landoj apartenos al mi, kaj ni ekposedos ilin, kvankam tie estas la Eternulo: 11tial, kiel Mi vivas, diras la Eternulo, Mi agos kun vi konforme al via kolero, kaj al via envio, kiun vi elmontris en via malamo kontraŭ ili; kaj oni ekkonos Min ĉe ili, kiam Mi juĝos vin. 12Kaj vi ekscios, ke Mi, la Eternulo, aŭdis ĉiujn viajn insultojn, kiujn vi eldiris pri la montoj de Izrael, dirante: Ili estas dezertigitaj kaj transdonitaj al ni, por ke ni konsumu ilin. 13Vi faris vin grandaj antaŭ Mi per via buŝo, kaj vi multe parolis kontraŭ Mi; Mi tion aŭdis. 14Tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo: Kiam la tuta tero ĝojos, Mi faros vin dezerto. 15Kiel vi ĝojis pri la heredaĵo de la domo de Izrael, kiam ĝi dezertiĝis, tiel Mi agos kun vi: vi fariĝos dezerto, ho monto Seir kaj la tuta Edomujo; kaj oni ekscios, ke Mi estas la Eternulo.

1Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment. 4I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 5Because you have had a perpetual hostility, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; 6therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns. 8I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword. 9I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 10Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there: 11therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you. 12You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour. 13You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. 14Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

1Wijders geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zet uw aangezicht tegen het gebergte Seir, en profeteer tegen hetzelve, 3En zeg tot hetzelve: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o gebergte Seir! en Ik zal Mijn hand tegen u uitstrekken, en zal u stellen tot een verwoesting en een schrik. 4Ik zal uw steden stellen tot eenzaamheid, en gij zult een verwoesting worden, en zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 5Omdat gij een eeuwige vijandschap hebt, en hebt de kinderen Israels doen wegvloeien door het geweld des zwaards, ten tijde huns verderfs, ten tijde der uiterste ongerechtigheid; 6Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE; Ik zal u voorzeker ten bloede bereiden, en het bloed zal u vervolgen; alzo gij het bloed niet hebt gehaat, zal u het bloed ook vervolgen. 7En Ik zal het gebergte Seir tot de uiterste verwoesting stellen; en Ik zal uit hetzelve uitroeien dien, die er doorgaat, en dien, die wederkeert. 8En Ik zal zijn bergen met zijn verslagenen vervullen; uw heuvelen, en uw dalen, en al uw stromen, in dezelve zullen de verslagenen van het zwaard liggen. 9Tot eeuwige verwoestingen zal Ik u stellen, en uw steden zullen niet bewoond worden; alzo zult gij weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 10Omdat gij zegt: Die twee volken en die twee landen zullen mij geworden, en wij zullen ze erfelijk bezitten, ofschoon de HEERE daar ware; 11Daarom, zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE: Ik zal ook handelen naar uw toorn en naar uw nijdigheid, die gij uit uw haat tegen hen hebt te werk gesteld; en Ik zal bij hen bekend worden, wanneer Ik u zal gericht hebben. 12En gij zult weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, al uw lasteringen gehoord heb, die gij tegen de bergen Israels gesproken hebt, zeggende: Zij zijn verwoest, zij zijn ons ter spijze gegeven. 13Alzo hebt gij u met uw mond tegen Mij groot gemaakt, en uw woorden tegen Mij vermenigvuldigd; Ik heb het gehoord. 14Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Gelijk het ganse land verblijd is, alzo zal Ik u de verwoesting aandoen. 15Gelijk gij u verblijd hebt over de erfenis van het huis Israels, omdat zij verwoest is, alzo zal Ik aan u doen; het gebergte van Seir, en gans Edom, zal geheel een verwoesting worden; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
