1En la dek-unua jaro, en la tria monato, en la unua tago de la monato, aperis al mi vorto de la Eternulo, dirante: 2Ho filo de homo, diru al Faraono, reĝo de Egiptujo, kaj al lia tuta popolo: Al kiu vi similigas vin en via grandeco? 3Jen Asirio estis kiel cedro sur Lebanon, kun belaj branĉoj, kun densa foliaro, kun alta kresko, kaj ĝia supro estis inter la nuboj. 4Akvo elkreskigis ĝin, la profundo altigis ĝin, ĉirkaŭante ĝian junan trunkon per siaj riveroj kaj sendante siajn fluojn al ĉiuj arboj de la kampo. 5Tial ĝi fariĝis pli alta ol ĉiuj arboj de la kampo; ĝi ricevis multe da branĉoj, kaj ĝiaj branĉoj longiĝis, ĉar ĝi havis multe da akvo, por disetendiĝi. 6Sur ĝiaj branĉoj havis siajn nestojn ĉiaj birdoj de la ĉielo, sub ĝiaj branĉoj naskis idojn ĉiaj bestoj de la kampo, kaj sub ĝia ombro loĝis ĉiaj grandaj popoloj. 7Kaj ĝi estis bela per sia grandeco kaj per la longeco de siaj branĉoj, ĉar ĝiaj radikoj troviĝis apud abunda akvo. 8La cedroj en la ĝardeno de Dio ne estis pli altaj ol ĝi, la cipresoj ne estis egalaj al ĝiaj branĉoj, la platanoj ne povis sin kompari kun ĝiaj branĉoj; neniu arbo en la ĝardeno de Dio estis simila al ĝi per sia beleco. 9Mi faris ĝin bela per la multo de ĝiaj branĉoj; kaj ĉiuj Edenaj arboj, kiuj estas en la ĝardeno de Dio, enviis ĝin. 10Tial tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo: Pro tio, ke ĝi tro altiĝis kaj levis sian supron inter la nubojn kaj ĝia koro fieriĝis pro ĝia alteco - 11pro tio Mi transdonos ĝin en la manon de la plej potenca el la nacioj, kiu agos kun ĝi konforme al ĝia malboneco kaj elpuŝos ĝin. 12Kaj elhakos ĝin fremduloj, la plej teruraj el la nacioj, kaj disĵetos ĝin; sur la montojn kaj sur ĉiujn valojn falos ĝiaj branĉoj, kaj ĝiaj branĉetoj rompiĝos sur ĉiuj torentoj de la lando, kaj ĉiuj popoloj de la tero foriros el sub ĝia ombro kaj forlasos ĝin. 13Kaj sur ĝia renversiĝinta trunko sidos ĉiaj birdoj de la ĉielo, kaj sur ĝiaj branĉoj sidos ĉiaj bestoj de la kampo, 14por ke neniu el la arboj apudakvaj fieriĝu pri sia alteco, nek levu sian supron inter la nubojn, kaj por ke neniu akvonutrata arbo leviĝu super ilin; ĉar ĉiuj ili estas destinitaj al la morto, en la profundon subteran, kune kun la homoj, kiuj iris en la tombon. 15Tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo: En la tago, kiam ĝi iros en Ŝeolon, Mi faros funebron, Mi fermos pro ĝi la abismon, Mi haltigos ĝiajn riverojn, ke stariĝu la grandaj akvoj, Mi mallumigos pro ĝi Lebanonon, kaj ĉiuj arboj de la kampo estos afliktitaj. 16Per la bruo de ĝia falo Mi ektremigos la naciojn, kiam Mi puŝos ĝin en Ŝeolon al tiuj, kiuj iris en la tombon; kaj konsoliĝos en la profundo subtera ĉiuj arboj de Eden, la plej elektitaj kaj plej bonaj de Lebanon, ĉiuj akvonutrataj. 17Ĉar ankaŭ ili iros en Ŝeolon, al tiuj, kiuj estis mortigitaj de glavo, kaj ĝiaj kunuloj, kiuj sidis sub ĝia ombro inter la nacioj. 18Al kiu el la arboj de Eden vi estis simila per majesto kaj grandeco? tamen kune kun la arboj de Eden vi estos ĵetita en la profundon subteran; kaj vi kuŝos meze de necirkumciditoj kune kun tiuj, kiuj mortis de glavo. 1In the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness? 3Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs. 4The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field. 5Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it spread them out. 6All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field gave birth to their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow. 7Thus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters. 8The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty. 9I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it. 10Therefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; 11I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness. 12Strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him. 13On his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches; 14to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with those who go down to the pit. 15Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. 16I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth. 17They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, who lived under his shadow in the midst of the nations. 18To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.
1Het gebeurde ook in het elfde jaar, in de derde maand, op den eersten der maand, dat des HEEREN woord tot mij geschiedde, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zeg tot Farao, den koning van Egypte, en tot zijn menigte: Wien zijt gij gelijk in uw grootheid? 3Zie, Assur was een ceder op den Libanon, schoon van takken, schaduwachtig van loof, en hoog van stam, en zijn top was tussen dichte takken. 4De wateren maakten hem groot, de afgrond maakte hem hoog; die ging met zijn stromen rondom zijn planting, en zond zijn waterleidingen uit tot alle bomen des velds. 5Daarom werd zijn stam hoger dan alle bomen des velds; en zijn takjes werden menigvuldig, en zijn scheuten lang, vanwege de grote wateren, als hij uitschoot. 6Alle vogelen des hemels nestelden op zijn takjes, en alle dieren des velds teelden onder zijn scheuten; en alle grote volken zaten onder zijn schaduw. 7Alzo was hij schoon in zijn grootheid en in de lengte zijner takken, omdat zijn wortel aan grote wateren was. 8De cederen in Gods hof verduisterden hem niet, de dennebomen waren zijn takken niet gelijk, en de kastanjebomen waren niet gelijk zijn scheuten; geen boom in Gods hof was hem gelijk in zijn schoonheid. 9Ik had hem zo schoon gemaakt door de veelheid zijner takken, dat alle bomen van Eden, die in Gods hof waren, hem benijdden. 10Daarom, zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Omdat gij u verheven hebt over uw stam, ja, hij stak zijn top op boven het midden der dichte takken, en zijn hart verhief zich over zijn hoogte; 11Daarom gaf Ik hem in de hand van den machtigste der heidenen, dat die hem rechtschapen zou behandelen; Ik dreef hem uit om zijn goddeloosheid. 12En vreemden, de tirannigste der heidenen, roeiden hem uit en verlieten hem; zijn takken vielen op de bergen en in alle valleien, en zijn scheuten werden verbroken bij alle stromen des lands; en alle volken der aarde gingen af uit zijn schaduw, en verlieten hem. 13Alle vogelen des hemels woonden op zijn omgevallen stam, en alle dieren des velds waren op zijn scheuten; 14Opdat zich geen waterrijke bomen verheffen over hun stam, en hun top niet opsteken boven het midden der dichte takken, en geen bomen, die water drinken, op zichzelven staan vanwege hun hoogte; want zij zijn allen overgegeven ter dood, tot het onderste der aarde, in het midden der mensenkinderen, tot degenen, die in den kuil nederdalen. 15Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Ten dage, als hij ter helle nederdaalde, maakte Ik een treuren; Ik bedekte om zijnentwil den afgrond, en weerde de stromen van dien, en de grote wateren werden geschut; en Ik maakte den Libanon om zijnentwil zwart, en al het geboomte des velds was om zijnentwil bewonden. 16Van het geluid zijns vals deed Ik de heidenen beven, als Ik hem ter helle deed nederdalen, met degenen, die in den kuil nederdalen; en alle bomen van Eden, de keur en het beste van Libanon, alle bomen, die water drinken, troostten zich in het onderste der aarde. 17Diezelve daalden ook met hem neder ter helle, tot de verslagenen van het zwaard; en die zijn arm geweest waren, die onder zijn schaduw in het midden der heidenen gezeten hadden. 18Wien zijt gij alzo gelijk in heerlijkheid en grootheid, onder de bomen van Eden? Ja, gij zult nedergevoerd worden met de bomen van Eden, tot het onderste der aarde; in het midden der onbesnedenen zult gij liggen, met de verslagenen door het zwaard. Dat is Farao, en zijn ganse menigte, spreekt de Heere HEERE.
