1At nangyari pagkaraan ng maraming araw, nang mabigyan ng Panginoon ng kapahingahan ang Israel sa lahat nilang mga kaaway sa palibot, at si Josue ay matanda na at puspos ng mga taon; 2Na tinawag ni Josue ang buong Israel, ang kanilang mga matanda, at ang kanilang mga pangulo, at ang kanilang mga hukom at ang kanilang mga pinuno, at sinabi sa kanila, Ako'y matanda na at puspos ng mga taon: 3At inyong nakita ang lahat na ginawa ng Panginoon ninyong Dios sa lahat ng bansang ito dahil sa inyo; sapagka't ipinakipaglaban kayo ng Panginoon ninyong Dios. 4Narito, aking binahagi sa inyo ang mga bansang ito na nangalabi, upang maging mana sa inyong mga lipi, mula sa Jordan pati ng lahat na bansa na aking inihiwalay, hanggang sa malaking dagat na dakong nilulubugan ng araw. 5At itataboy sila ng Panginoon ninyong Dios mula sa harap ninyo, at palalayasin sila sa inyong paningin, at inyong aariin ang kanilang lupain na gaya ng sinalita ng Panginoon ninyong Dios sa inyo. 6Kaya't kayo'y magpakatapang na mabuti na ingatan at gawin ang lahat na nakasulat sa aklat ng kautusan ni Moises na huwag kayong lumiko sa kanan o sa kaliwa; 7Na huwag kayong pumasok sa mga bansang ito, sa mga ito na nangalalabi sa gitna ninyo; huwag din ninyong banggitin ang pangalan ng kanilang mga dios, ni magpasumpa sa pangalan ng mga yaon, ni maglingkod sa mga yaon, ni yumukod sa mga yaon: 8Kundi lumakip kayo sa Panginoon ninyong Dios, na gaya ng inyong ginawa hanggang sa araw na ito. 9Sapagka't pinalayas ng Panginoon sa harap ninyo ang mga malaking bansa at malakas: nguni't tungkol sa inyo, ay walang tao na tumayo sa harap ninyo hanggang sa araw na ito. 10Isang lalake sa inyo ay hahabol sa isang libo: sapagka't ipinakikipaglaban kayo ng Panginoon ninyong Dios, gaya ng sinalita niya sa inyo. 11Magpakaingat nga kayong mabuti sa inyong sarili, na inyong ibigin ang Panginoon ninyong Dios. 12Kung inyo ngang tatalikuran sa anomang paraan at lalakip sa nangalabi sa mga bansang ito, sa mga ito na nangalabi sa gitna ninyo, at kayo'y magaasawa sa kanila, at kayo'y lalakip sa kanila, at sila sa inyo: 13Ay tatalastasin ninyong lubos na hindi pa palalayasin ng Panginoon ninyong Dios ang mga bansang ito sa inyong paningin: kundi sila'y magiging silo at lalang sa inyo, at panghampas sa inyong tagiliran at mga tinik sa inyong mga mata hanggang sa kayo'y malipol dito sa mabuting lupain na ibinigay sa inyo ng Panginoon ninyong Dios. 14At, narito, sa araw na ito ay yumayaon ako sa lakad ng buong lupa: at inyong talastas sa inyong buong puso at sa inyong buong kaluluwa na walang bagay na nagkulang sa lahat na mga mabuting bagay na sinalita ng Panginoon ninyong Dios tungkol sa inyo; lahat ay nangyari sa inyo, wala kahit isang bagay na nagkulang. 15At mangyayari, na kung paanong ang lahat ng mga mabuting bagay ay nangyari sa inyo na sinalita sa inyo ng Panginoon ninyong Dios, ay gayon dadalhin ng Panginoon sa inyo ang lahat ng mga masamang bagay, hanggang sa kayo'y malipol niya dito sa mabuting lupain na ibinigay sa inyo ng Panginoon ninyong Dios. 16Pagka inyong sinalangsang ang tipan ng Panginoon ninyong Dios, na kaniyang iniutos sa inyo, at yumaon at naglingkod sa ibang mga dios at yumukod sa mga yaon; ang galit nga ng Panginoon ay magaalab laban sa inyo, at kayo'y malilipol na madali sa mabuting lupain na kaniyang ibinigay sa inyo.
1After many days, when Yahweh had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years, 2Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old and well advanced in years. 3You have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to all these nations because of you; for it is Yahweh your God who has fought for you. 4Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun. 5Yahweh your God will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as Yahweh your God spoke to you. 6“Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that you not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left; 7that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them; 8but hold fast to Yahweh your God, as you have done to this day. 9“For Yahweh has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day. 10One man of you shall chase a thousand; for it is Yahweh your God who fights for you, as he spoke to you. 11Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love Yahweh your God. 12“But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you; 13know for a certainty that Yahweh your God will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you. 14“Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Yahweh your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it. 15It shall happen that as all the good things have come on you of which Yahweh your God spoke to you, so Yahweh will bring on you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you, 16when you disobey the covenant of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them. Then Yahweh’s anger will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.”
1En het geschiedde na vele dagen, nadat de HEERE Israel rust gegeven had van al zijn vijanden rondom heen, en Jozua oud geworden en wel bedaagd was; 2Zo riep Jozua gans Israel, hun oudsten, en hun hoofden, en hun richters, en hun ambtlieden, en hij zeide tot hen: Ik ben oud geworden, en wel bedaagd; 3En gijlieden hebt gezien alles, wat de HEERE, uw God, gedaan heeft aan al deze volken voor uw aangezicht; want de HEERE, uw God, Zelf, is het, Die voor u gestreden heeft. 4Ziet, ik heb u deze overige volken door het lot doen toevallen, ten erfdeel voor uw stammen, van de Jordaan af, met al de volken, die ik uitgeroeid heb, en tot de grote zee, tegen den ondergang der zon. 5En de HEERE, uw God, Zelf zal hen uitstoten voor ulieder aangezicht, en Hij zal hen van voor ulieder aangezicht verdrijven; en gij zult hun land erfelijk bezitten, gelijk als de HEERE, uw God, tot u gesproken heeft. 6Zo weest zeer sterk, om te bewaren en om te doen alles, wat geschreven is in het wetboek van Mozes; opdat gij daarvan niet afwijkt ter rechter hand noch ter linkerhand; 7Dat gij niet ingaat tot deze volken: deze, die overgebleven zijn bij ulieden; gedenkt ook niet aan den naam hunner goden, en doet er niet bij zweren, en dient hen niet, en buigt u voor die niet; 8Maar den HEERE, uw God, zult gij aanhangen, gelijk als gij tot op dezen dag gedaan hebt. 9Want de HEERE heeft van uw aangezicht verdreven grote en machtige volken; en u aangaande, niemand heeft voor uw aangezicht bestaan, tot op dezen dag toe. 10Een enig man onder u zal er duizend jagen; want het is de HEERE, uw God, Zelf, Die voor u strijdt, gelijk al Hij tot u gesproken heeft. 11Daarom bewaart uw zielen naarstiglijk, dat gij den HEERE, uw God, liefhebt. 12Want zo gij enigszins afkeert, en het overige van deze volken aanhangt, van deze, die bij u overgebleven zijn, en u met hen verzwagert, en gij tot hen zult ingaan, en zij tot u; 13Weet voorzeker, dat de HEERE, uw God, niet voortvaren zal deze volken van voor uw aangezicht te verdrijven; maar zij zullen ulieden zijn tot een strik, en tot een net, en tot een gesel aan uw zijden, en tot doornen in uw ogen, totdat gij omkomt van dit goede land, hetwelk u de HEERE, uw God, gegeven heeft. 14En ziet, ik ga heden in den weg der ganse aarde; en gij weet in uw ganse hart en in uw ganse ziel, dat er niet een enig woord gevallen is van al die goede woorden, welke de HEERE, uw God, over u gesproken heeft; zij zijn u alle overkomen; er is van dezelve niet een enig woord gevallen. 15En het zal geschieden, gelijk als al die goede dingen over u gekomen zijn, die de HEERE, uw God, tot u gesproken heeft, alzo zal de HEERE over u komen laten al die kwade dingen, totdat Hij u verdelge van dit goede land, hetwelk u HEERE, uw God gegeven heeft. 16Wanneer gij het verbond des HEEREN, uws Gods, overtreedt, dat Hij u geboden heeft, en gij heengaat en dient andere goden, en u voor dezelve nederbuigt, zo zal de toorn des HEEREN over u ontsteken, en gij zult haastiglijk omkomen van het goede land, hetwelk Hij u gegeven heeft.
