Amos 7

1Ganito nagpakita sa akin ang Panginoong Dios: at, narito, siya'y lumikha ng mga balang sa pasimula ng huling pagsibol ng suwi; at, narito, na siyang huling suwi pagkatapos ng mga gapas para sa hari. 2At nangyari, na nang kanilang matapos makain ang pananim sa lupain, akin ngang sinabi, Oh Panginoong Dios, isinasamo ko sa iyo, na magpatawad ka: paanong tatayo ang Jacob? sapagka't siya'y maliit. 3Ang Panginoo'y nagsisi tungkol dito, Hindi mangyayari, sabi ng Panginoon. 4Ganito nagpakita sa akin ang Panginoong Dios: at, narito, ang Panginoong Dios ay tumawag, upang humatol sa pamamagitan ng apoy; at sinupok ang malaking kalaliman, at susupukin sana ang lupain. 5Nang magkagayo'y sinabi ko, Oh Panginoong Dios, itigil mo, isinasamo ko sa iyo: paanong makatatayo ang Jacob? sapagka't siya'y maliit. 6Ang Panginoo'y nagsisi tungkol dito: Ito'y hindi rin mangyayari, sabi ng Panginoong Dios. 7Ganito siya nagpakita sa akin: at, narito, ang Panginoon ay nakatayo sa tabi ng isang kuta na ang pagkayari ay ayon sa pabatong tingga, na may pabatong tingga sa kaniyang kamay. 8At sinabi ng Panginoon sa akin, Amos, anong iyong nakikita? At aking sinabi, Isang pabatong tingga. Nang magkagayo'y sinabi ng Panginoon, Narito, ako'y maglalagay ng pabatong tingga sa gitna ng aking bayang Israel; hindi na ako magdadaan pa sa kanila; 9At ang mga mataas na dako ng Isaac ay magiging sira, at ang mga santuario ng Israel ay mangahahandusay na wasak; at ako'y babangon na may tabak laban sa sangbahayan ni Jeroboam. 10Nang magkagayo'y nagsugo si Amasias na saserdote sa Beth-el kay Jeroboam na hari sa Israel, na nagsasabi, Si Amos ay nagbanta laban sa iyo sa gitna ng sangbahayan ni Israel: hindi mababata ng lupain ang lahat niyang mga salita. 11Sapagka't ganito ang sabi ni Amos, Si Jeroboam ay mamamatay sa pamamagitan ng tabak, at ang Israel ay walang pagsalang dadalhing bihag mula sa kaniyang lupain. 12Sinabi rin ni Amasias kay Amos, Oh ikaw na tagakita, yumaon ka, at tumakas ka sa lupain ng Juda, at doo'y kumain ka ng tinapay, at manghula ka roon: 13Nguni't huwag ka nang manghula pa sa Beth-el: sapagka't siyang santuario ng hari, at siyang bahay-hari. 14Nang magkagayo'y sumagot si Amos, at nagsabi kay Amasias, Ako'y hindi propeta, o anak man ng propeta; kundi ako'y pastor, at manggagawa sa mga puno ng sikomoro: 15At kinuha ako ng Panginoon mula sa pagsunod sa kawan, at sinabi ng Panginoon sa akin, Ikaw ay yumaon, manghula ka sa aking bayang Israel. 16Kaya't ngayo'y dinggin mo ang salita ng Panginoon, Iyong sinasabi, Huwag kang manghula laban sa Israel, at huwag mong ihulog ang iyong salita laban sa sangbahayan ni Isaac: 17Kaya't ganito ang sabi ng Panginoon, Ang iyong asawa ay magiging patutot sa bayan, at ang iyong mga anak na lalake at babae ay mangabubuwal sa pamamagitan ng tabak, at ang iyong lupain ay mababahagi sa pamamagitan ng pising panukat; at ikaw ay mamamatay sa isang lupaing marumi, at ang Israel ay walang pagsalang dadalhing bihag mula sa kaniyang lupain.

1Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: and behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s harvest. 2When they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, “Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.” 3Yahweh relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” says Yahweh. 4Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me and behold, the Lord Yahweh called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land. 5Then I said, “Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.” 6Yahweh relented concerning this. “This also shall not be,” says the Lord Yahweh. 7Thus he showed me and behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand. 8Yahweh said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more. 9The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.” 10Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words. 11For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’” 12Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: 13but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!” 14Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs; 15and Yahweh took me from following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ 16Now therefore listen to Yahweh’s word: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t preach against the house of Isaac.’ 17Therefore thus says Yahweh: ‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”

1De Heere HEERE deed mij aldus zien; en ziet, Hij formeerde sprinkhanen, in het begin des opkomens van het nagras; en ziet, het was het nagras, na des konings afmaaiingen. 2En het geschiedde, als zij het kruid des lands geheel zouden hebben afgegeten, dat ik zeide: Heere HEERE! vergeef toch; wie zou er van Jakob blijven staan; want hij is klein! 3Toen berouwde zulks den HEERE; het zal niet geschieden, zeide de HEERE. 4Wijders deed mij de Heere HEERE aldus zien; en ziet, de Heere HEERE riep uit, dat Hij wilde twisten met vuur; en het verteerde een groten afgrond, ook verteerde het een stuk lands. 5Toen zeide ik: Heere HEERE! houd toch op; wie zou er van Jakob blijven staan; want hij is klein! 6Toen berouwde zulks den HEERE. Ook dit zal niet geschieden, zeide de Heere HEERE. 7Nog deed Hij mij aldus zien; en ziet, de Heere stond op een muur, die naar het paslood gemaakt was, en een paslood was in Zijn hand. 8En de HEERE zeide tot mij: Wat ziet gij, Amos? En ik zeide: Een paslood. Toen zeide de HEERE: Zie, Ik zal het paslood stellen in het midden van Mijn volk Israel; Ik zal het voortaan niet meer voorbijgaan. 9Maar Izaks hoogten zullen verwoest, en Israels eigendommen verstoord worden; en Ik zal tegen Jerobeams huis opstaan met het zwaard. 10Toen zond Amazia, de priester te Beth-El, tot Jerobeam, den koning van Israel, zeggende: Amos heeft een verbintenis tegen u gemaakt, in het midden van het huis Israels; het land zal al zijn woorden niet kunnen verdragen. 11Want alzo zegt Amos: Jerobeam zal door het zwaard sterven, en Israel zal voorzeker uit zijn land gevankelijk worden weggevoerd. 12Daarna zeide Amazia tot Amos: Gij ziener! ga weg, vlied in het land van Juda, en eet aldaar brood, en profeteer aldaar. 13Maar te Beth-El zult gij voortaan niet meer profeteren; want dat is des konings heiligdom, en dat is het huis des koninkrijks. 14Toen antwoordde Amos, en zeide tot Amazia: Ik was geen profeet, en ik was geen profetenzoon; maar ik was een ossenherder, en las wilde vijgen af. 15Maar de HEERE nam mij van achter de kudde; en de HEERE zeide tot mij: Ga henen, profeteer tot Mijn volk Israel. 16Nu dan, hoor des HEEREN woord: Gij zegt: Gij zult niet profeteren tegen Israel, noch druppen tegen het huis van Izak. 17Daarom zegt de HEERE alzo: Uw vrouw zal in de stad hoereren, en uw zonen en uw dochteren zullen door het zwaard vallen, en uw land zal door het snoer uitgedeeld worden; en gij zult in een onrein land sterven, en Israel zal voorzeker uit zijn land gevankelijk worden weggevoerd.
