1Bwana akasema na Mose baada ya kifo cha wale wana wawili wa Aroni waliokufa walipokaribia mbele za Bwana. 2Bwana akamwambia Mose: “Mwambie ndugu yako Aroni asije wakati wowote atakavyo yeye ndani ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, nyuma ya pazia pale mbele ya kiti cha rehema kile kilichoko juu ya Sanduku la Agano, la sivyo atakufa, kwa sababu huwa ninatokea ndani ya wingu juu ya kile kiti cha rehema. 3“Hivi ndivyo Aroni atakavyoingia katika mahali patakatifu: atachukua fahali mchanga kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi, na kondoo dume kwa ajili ya sadaka ya kuteketezwa. 4Atavaa koti takatifu la kitani, pamoja na nguo za ndani za kitani; atafunga mshipi wa kitani kiunoni, na kuvaa kilemba cha kitani. Haya ni mavazi matakatifu, kwa hiyo ni lazima aoge kwa maji kabla ya kuyavaa mavazi hayo. 5Atachukua mbuzi dume wawili kutoka kwa jumuiya ya Israeli kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi, na kondoo dume kwa ajili ya sadaka ya kuteketezwa. 6“Aroni atamtoa huyo fahali kwa ajili ya sadaka yake ya dhambi ili afanye upatanisho kwa ajili yake mwenyewe na nyumba yake. 7Kisha atawachukua wale mbuzi dume wawili na kuwaleta mbele za Bwana kwenye ingilio la Hema la Kukutania. 8Aroni atapiga kura kwa ajili ya hao mbuzi wawili, mmoja kwa ajili ya Bwana na mwingine kwa ajili ya kubebeshwa dhambi. 9Aroni atamleta yule mbuzi ambaye kura ya Bwana imemwangukia na kumtoa dhabihu kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi. 10Lakini mbuzi aliyechaguliwa kwa kura kuwa wa kubebeshwa dhambi atatolewa akiwa hai mbele za Bwana, atumike kwa kufanya upatanisho kwa kumwacha aende jangwani akiwa amebebeshwa dhambi. 11“Aroni atamleta yule fahali kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi yake mwenyewe, ili kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yake na nyumba yake, naye atamchinja huyo fahali kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi yake mwenyewe. 12Atachukua chetezo kilichojaa makaa yanayowaka kutoka madhabahuni mbele za Bwana, na konzi mbili za uvumba laini uliosagwa vizuri wenye harufu, na kuvipeleka nyuma ya pazia. 13Ataweka uvumba juu ya moto mbele za Bwana, na moshi wa uvumba utafunika kile kiti cha rehema kilicho juu ya Ushuhuda, ili asife. 14Atachukua sehemu ya damu ya fahali, na kwa kidole chake atanyunyiza sehemu ya mbele ya kiti cha rehema; kisha atanyunyiza sehemu ya hiyo damu kwa kidole chake mara saba mbele ya kiti cha rehema. 15“Kisha atamchinja mbuzi wa sadaka ya dhambi kwa ajili ya watu, na kuichukua damu yake nyuma ya pazia, na aifanyie kama alivyofanya kwa damu ya fahali: Atanyunyiza juu ya kiti cha rehema na mbele yake. 16Kwa njia hii atafanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu kwa sababu ya unajisi na uasi wa Waisraeli, kwa dhambi zao zozote. Atafanya hivyo kwa ajili ya Hema la Kukutania, ambalo liko miongoni mwao katikati ya unajisi wao. 17Mtu yeyote haruhusiwi kuwa ndani ya Hema la Kukutania, kuanzia wakati Aroni anapoingia kufanya upatanisho katika Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, hadi atakapotoka nje, baada ya kujifanyia upatanisho yeye mwenyewe na nyumba yake, pamoja na jumuiya yote ya Israeli. 18“Kisha atatoka aje kwenye madhabahu yaliyo mbele za Bwana na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yake. Atachukua sehemu ya damu ya fahali na sehemu ya damu ya mbuzi, na kuiweka kwenye pembe za madhabahu. 19Atanyunyiza baadhi ya hiyo damu juu ya madhabahu kwa kidole chake mara saba, ili kuitakasa na kuiweka wakfu kutokana na unajisi wa Waisraeli. 20“Aroni atakapokuwa amemaliza kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, Hema la Kukutania na madhabahu, atamleta mbele yule mbuzi aliye hai. 21Aroni ataweka mikono yake miwili juu ya kichwa cha mbuzi aliye hai na kuungama juu yake uovu wote na uasi wa Waisraeli, yaani dhambi zao zote, ili kuziweka juu ya kichwa cha huyo mbuzi. Atamwachia huyo mbuzi akimbilie jangwani kwa uangalizi wa mtu aliyepewa wajibu huo. 22Yule mbuzi atachukua juu yake dhambi zao zote mpaka mahali pasipo na watu; naye yule mtu atamwachia akimbilie jangwani. 23“Kisha Aroni ataenda ndani ya Hema la Kukutania na kuvua yale mavazi ya kitani aliyoyavaa kabla ya kuingia katika Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, naye atayaacha pale. 24Ataoga kwa maji katika mahali patakatifu na kuvaa mavazi yake ya kawaida. Kisha atatoka na kutoa dhabihu ya sadaka ya kuteketezwa kwa ajili yake na sadaka ya kuteketezwa kwa ajili ya watu, ili kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yake mwenyewe, na kwa ajili ya watu. 25Pia atachoma mafuta ya mnyama wa sadaka ya dhambi juu ya madhabahu. 26“Yule mtu anayemwachia yule mbuzi wa kubebeshwa dhambi ni lazima afue nguo zake na kuoga kwa maji; baadaye anaweza kuingia kambini. 27Yule fahali na mbuzi waliotolewa kwa ajili ya sadaka za dhambi, ambao damu yao ilikuwa imeletwa Patakatifu pa Patakatifu kwa ajili ya kufanya upatanisho, ni lazima watolewe nje ya kambi. Ngozi zao, nyama, na matumbo pamoja na mavi vitateketezwa kwa moto. 28Mtu atakayevichoma ni lazima afue nguo zake na aoge kwa maji; baadaye ataweza kuingia kambini. 29“Hili litakuwa agizo la kudumu kwa ajili yenu: Katika siku ya kumi ya mwezi wa saba ni lazima mfunge, wala msifanye kazi yoyote, iwe mzawa au mgeni anayeishi miongoni mwenu, 30kwa sababu siku hii upatanisho utafanyika kwa ajili yenu ili kuwatakasa. Kisha mtakuwa safi mbele za Bwana kutokana na dhambi zenu zote. 31Ni Sabato ya mapumziko, na lazima mfunge; ni agizo la kudumu. 32Kuhani ambaye ametiwa mafuta na kuwekwa wakfu ili kuingia mahali pa baba yake kama kuhani mkuu atafanya upatanisho. Atavaa mavazi matakatifu ya kitani, 33na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya Patakatifu pa Patakatifu, Hema la Kukutania na madhabahu, na pia kwa ajili ya makuhani, pamoja na jumuiya yote ya watu. 34“Hili litakuwa agizo la kudumu kwa ajili yenu: Upatanisho utafanywa mara moja tu kwa mwaka kwa ajili ya dhambi zote za Waisraeli.” Ndivyo ilivyofanyika, kama vile Bwana alivyomwamuru Mose.

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before Yahweh, and died; 2and Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother, not to come at all times into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die: for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat. 3“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. 4He shall put on the holy linen coat. He shall have the linen breeches on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on. 5He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. 6“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house. 7He shall take the two goats, and set them before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting. 8Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats; one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for the scapegoat. 9Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer him for a sin offering. 10But the goat, on which the lot fell for the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away for the scapegoat into the wilderness. 11“Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself. 12He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahweh, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: 13and he shall put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die. 14He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times. 15“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat. 16He shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. 18“He shall go out to the altar that is before Yahweh and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar. 19He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel. 20“When he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat. 21Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall let the goat go in the wilderness. 23“Aaron shall come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there. 24Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people. 25The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar. 26“He who lets the goat go for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. 27The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire. 28He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. 29“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, the native-born, or the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you: 30for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins you shall be clean before Yahweh. 31It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever. 32The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments. 33Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as Yahweh commanded Moses.

1En de HEERE sprak tot Mozes, nadat de twee zonen van Aaron gestorven waren, als zij genaderd waren voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, en gestorven waren; 2De HEERE dan zeide tot Mozes: Spreek tot uw broeder Aaron, dat hij niet te allen tijde ga in het heilige, binnen den voorhang, voor het verzoendeksel, dat op de ark is, opdat hij niet sterve; want Ik verschijn in een wolk op het verzoendeksel. 3Hiermede zal Aaron in het heilige gaan: met een var, een jong rund ten zondoffer, en een ram ten brandoffer. 4Hij zal den heiligen linnen rok aandoen, en een linnen onderbroek zal aan zijn vlees zijn, en met een linnen gordel zal hij zich gorden, en met een linnen hoed bedekken; dit zijn heilige klederen; daarom zal hij zijn vlees met water baden, als hij ze zal aandoen. 5En aan de vergadering der kinderen Israels zal hij nemen twee geitenbokken ten zondoffer, en een ram ten brandoffer. 6Daarna zal Aaron den var des zondoffers, die voor hem zal zijn, offeren, en zal voor zich en voor zijn huis verzoening doen. 7Hij zal ook beide bokken nemen, en hij zal die stellen voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, aan de deur van de tent der samenkomst. 8En Aaron zal de loten over die twee bokken werpen: een lot voor den HEERE, en een lot voor den weggaanden bok. 9Dan zal Aaron den bok, op denwelken het lot voor den HEERE zal gekomen zijn, toebrengen, en zal hem ten zondoffer maken. 10Maar de bok, op denwelken het lot zal gekomen zijn, om een weggaande bok te zijn, zal levend voor het aangezicht des HEEREN gesteld worden, om door hem verzoening te doen; opdat men hem als een weggaanden bok naar de woestijn uitlate. 11Aaron dan zal den var des zondoffers, die voor hemzelven zal zijn, toebrengen, en voor zichzelven en voor zijn huis verzoening doen, en zal den var des zondoffers, die voor hemzelven zal zijn, slachten. 12Hij zal ook een wierookvat vol vurige kolen nemen van het altaar, van voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, en zijn handen vol reukwerk van welriekende specerijen, klein gestoten; en hij zal het binnen den voorhang dragen. 13En hij zal dat reukwerk op het vuur leggen, voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, opdat de nevel des reukwerks het verzoendeksel, hetwelk is op de getuigenis, bedekke, en dat hij niet sterve. 14En hij zal van het bloed van den var nemen, en zal met zijn vinger op het verzoendeksel oostwaarts sprengen; en voor het verzoendeksel zal hij zevenmaal met zijn vinger van dat bloed sprengen. 15Daarna zal hij den bok des zondoffers, die voor het volk zal zijn, slachten, en zal zijn bloed tot binnen in den voorhang dragen, en zal met zijn bloed doen, gelijk als hij met het bloed van den var gedaan heeft, en zal dat sprengen op het verzoendeksel, en voor het verzoendeksel. 16Zo zal hij voor het heilige, vanwege de onreinigheden der kinderen Israels, en vanwege hun overtredingen, naar al hun zonden, verzoening doen; en alzo zal hij doen aan de tent der samenkomst, welke met hen woont in het midden hunner onreinigheden. 17En geen mens zal in de tent der samenkomst zijn, als hij zal ingaan, om in het heilige verzoening te doen, totdat hij zal uitkomen; alzo zal hij verzoening doen, voor zichzelven, en voor zijn huis, en voor de gehele gemeente van Israel. 18Daarna zal hij tot het altaar, dat voor het aangezicht des HEEREN is, uitkomen, en verzoening voor hetzelve doen; en hij zal van het bloed van den var, en van het bloed van den bok nemen, en doen het rondom op de hoornen des altaars. 19En hij zal daarop van dat bloed met zijn vinger zevenmaal sprengen, en hij zal dat reinigen en heiligen van de onreinigheden der kinderen Israels. 20Als hij nu zal geeindigd hebben van het heilige, en de tent der samenkomst, en het altaar te verzoenen, zo zal hij dien levenden bok toebrengen. 21En Aaron zal beide zijn handen op het hoofd van den levenden bok leggen, en zal daarop al de ongerechtigheden der kinderen Israels, en al hun overtredingen, naar al hun zonden, belijden; en hij zal die op het hoofd des boks leggen, en zal hem door de hand eens mans, die voorhanden is, naar de woestijn uitlaten. 22Alzo zal die bok op zich al hun ongerechtigheden in een afgezonderd land wegdragen; en hij zal dien bok in de woestijn uitlaten. 23Daarna zal Aaron komen in de tent der samenkomst, en zal de linnen klederen uitdoen, die hij aangedaan had, als hij in het heilige ging, en hij zal ze daar laten. 24En hij zal zijn vlees in de heilige plaats met water baden, en zijn klederen aandoen; dan zal hij uitgaan, en zijn brandoffer, en het brandoffer des volks bereiden, en voor zich en voor het volk verzoening doen. 25Ook zal hij het vet des zondoffers op het altaar aansteken. 26En die den bok, welke een weggaande bok was, zal uitgelaten hebben, zal zijn klederen wassen, en zijn vlees met water baden; en daarna zal hij in het leger komen. 27Maar den var des zondoffers, en den bok des zondoffers, welker bloed ingebracht is, om verzoening te doen in het heilige, zal men tot buiten het leger uitvoeren; doch hun vellen, hun vlees en hun mest zullen zij met vuur verbranden. 28Die nu dezelve verbrandt, zal zijn klederen wassen, en zijn vlees met water baden; en daarna zal hij in het leger komen. 29En dit zal voor u tot een eeuwige inzetting zijn: gij zult in de zevende maand, op den tienden der maand, uw zielen verootmoedigen, en geen werk doen, inboorling noch vreemdeling, die in het midden van u als vreemdeling verkeert. 30Want op dien dag zal hij voor u verzoening doen, om u te reinigen; van al uw zonden zult gij voor het aangezicht des HEEREN gereinigd worden. 31Dat zal u een sabbat der rust zijn, opdat gij uw zielen verootmoedigt; het is een eeuwige inzetting. 32En de priester, dien men gezalfd, en wiens hand men gevuld zal hebben, om voor zijn vader het priesterambt te bedienen, zal de verzoening doen, als hij de linnen klederen, de heilige klederen, zal aangetrokken hebben. 33Zo zal hij het heilige heiligdom verzoenen, en de tent der samenkomst, en het altaar zal hij verzoenen; desgelijks voor de priesteren, en voor al het volk der gemeente zal hij verzoening doen. 34En dit zal u tot een eeuwige inzetting zijn, om voor de kinderen Israels van al hun zonden, eenmaal des jaars, verzoening te doen. En men deed, gelijk als de HEERE Mozes geboden had.
