Michea 5

1(H4-14) Ora, o figliuola di schiere, raduna le tue schiere! Ci cingono d’assedio: colpiscon con la verga la guancia del giudice d’Israele! 2(H5-1) Ma da te, o Bethlehem Efrata, piccola per essere tra i migliaia di Giuda, da te mi uscirà colui che sarà dominatore in Israele, le cui origini risalgono ai tempi antichi, ai giorni eterni. 3(H5-2) Perciò egli li darà in man dei loro nemici, fino al tempo in cui colei che deve partorire, partorirà; e il resto de’ suoi fratelli tornerà a raggiungere i figliuoli d’Israele. 4(H5-3) Egli starà là e pascerà il suo gregge colla forza dell’Eterno, colla maestà del nome dell’Eterno, del suo Dio. E quelli dimoreranno in pace, perché allora ei sarà grande fino all’estremità della terra. 5(H5-4) E sarà lui che recherà la pace. Quando l’Assiro verrà nel nostro paese, e metterà il piede nei nostri palazzi, noi faremo sorgere contro di lui sette pastori e otto principi di fra il popolo. 6(H5-5) Essi pasceranno il paese dell’Assiro con la spada, e la terra di Nimrod nelle sue proprie città; ed egli ci libererà dall’Assiro, quando questi verrà nel nostro paese, e metterà il piede nei nostri confini. 7(H5-6) Il resto di Giacobbe sarà, in mezzo a molti popoli, come una rugiada che vien dall’Eterno, come una fitta pioggia sull’erba, le quali non aspettano ordine d’uomo, e non dipendono dai figliuoli degli uomini. 8(H5-7) Il resto di Giacobbe sarà fra le nazioni, in mezzo a molti popoli, come un leone tra le bestie della foresta, come un leoncello fra i greggi di pecore, il quale, quando passa, calpesta e sbrana, senza che alcuno possa liberare. 9(H5-8) Si levi la tua mano sopra i tuoi avversari, e tutti i tuoi nemici siano sterminati! 10(H5-9) E in quel giorno avverrà, dice l’Eterno, che io sterminerò i tuoi cavalli in mezzo a te, e distruggerò i tuoi carri; 11(H5-10) sterminerò le città del tuo paese, e atterrerò tutte le tue fortezze; 12(H5-11) sterminerò dalla tua mano i sortilegi, e tu non avrai più pronosticatori; 13(H5-12) sterminerò in mezzo a te le tue immagini scolpite e le tue statue, e tu non ti prostrerai più davanti all’opera delle tue mani. 14(H5-13) Io estirperò di mezzo a te i tuoi idoli d’Astarte, e distruggerò le tue città. 15(H5-14) E farò vendetta nella mia ira e nel mio furore delle nazioni che non avran dato ascolto.

1Now you shall gather yourself in troops, daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel. 4He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God: and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth. 5He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land, and when he marches through our fortresses, then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight leaders of men. 6They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border. 7The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass, that don’t wait for man, nor wait for the sons of men. 8The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is no one to deliver. 9Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries, and let all of your enemies be cut off. 10“It will happen in that day”, says Yahweh, “that I will cut off your horses out of your midst, and will destroy your chariots. 11I will cut off the cities of your land, and will tear down all your strongholds. 12I will destroy witchcraft from your hand; and you shall have no soothsayers. 13I will cut off your engraved images and your pillars out of your midst; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands. 14I will uproot your Asherah poles out of your midst; and I will destroy your cities. 15I will execute vengeance in anger, and wrath on the nations that didn’t listen.”

1Nu, rot u met benden, gij dochter der bende, hij zal een belegering tegen ons stellen; zij zullen den rechter Israels met de roede op het kinnebakken slaan. 2En gij, Bethlehem Efratha! zijt gij klein om te wezen onder de duizenden van Juda? Uit u zal Mij voortkomen, Die een Heerser zal zijn in Israel, en Wiens uitgangen zijn van ouds, van de dagen der eeuwigheid. 3Daarom zal Hij henlieden overgeven, tot den tijd toe, dat zij, die baren zal, gebaard hebbe; dan zullen de overigen Zijner broederen zich bekeren met de kinderen Israels. 4En Hij zal staan, en zal weiden in de kracht des HEEREN, in de hoogheid van den Naam des HEEREN, Zijns Gods, en zij zullen wonen, want nu zal Hij groot zijn tot aan de einden der aarde. 5En Deze zal Vrede zijn; wanneer Assur in ons land zal komen, en wanneer hij in onze paleizen zal treden, zo zullen wij tegen hem stellen zeven herders, en acht vorsten uit de mensen. 6Die zullen het land van Assur afweiden met het zwaard, en het land van Nimrod in deszelfs ingangen. Alzo zal Hij ons redden van Assur, wanneer dezelve in ons land zal komen, en wanneer hij in onze landpale zal treden. 7En Jakobs overblijfsel zal zijn in het midden van vele volken, als een dauw van den HEERE, als droppelen op het kruid, dat naar geen man wacht, noch mensenkinderen verbeidt. 8Ja, het overblijfsel van Jakob zal zijn onder de heidenen, in het midden van vele volken, als een leeuw onder de beesten des wouds, als een jonge leeuw onder de schaapskudden; dewelke, wanneer hij doorgaat, zo vertreedt en verscheurt hij, dat niemand redde. 9Uw hand zal verhoogd zijn boven uw wederpartijders, en al uw vijanden zullen uitgeroeid worden. 10En het zal te dien dage geschieden, spreekt de HEERE, dat Ik uw paarden uit het midden van u zal uitroeien, en Ik zal uw wagenen verdoen. 11En Ik zal de steden uws lands uitroeien, en Ik zal al uw vestingen afbreken. 12En Ik zal de toverijen uit uw hand uitroeien, en gij zult geen guichelaars hebben. 13En Ik zal uw gesneden beelden en uw opgerichte beelden uit het midden van u uitroeien, dat gij u niet meer zult nederbuigen voor het werk uwer handen. 14Voorts zal Ik uw bossen uit het midden van u uitroeien, en Ik zal uw steden verdelgen. 15En Ik zal in toorn en in grimmigheid wrake doen aan de heidenen, die niet horen.
