1E Gesù prese di nuovo a parlar loro in parabole dicendo: 2Il regno de’ cieli è simile ad un re, il quale fece le nozze del suo figliuolo. 3E mandò i suoi servitori a chiamare gl’invitati alle nozze; ma questi non vollero venire. 4Di nuovo mandò degli altri servitori, dicendo: Dite agli invitati: Ecco, io ho preparato il mio pranzo; i miei buoi ed i miei animali ingrassati sono ammazzati, e tutto è pronto; venite alle nozze. 5Ma quelli, non curandosene, se n’andarono, chi al suo campo, chi al suo traffico; 6gli altri poi, presi i suoi servitori, li oltraggiarono e li uccisero. 7Allora il re s’adirò, e mandò le sue truppe a sterminare quegli omicidi e ad ardere la loro città. 8Quindi disse ai suoi servitori: Le nozze, si, sono pronte; ma gl’invitati non ne erano degni. 9Andate dunque sui crocicchi delle strade e chiamate alle nozze quanti troverete. 10E quei servitori, usciti per le strade, raunarono tutti quelli che trovarono, cattivi e buoni; e la sala delle nozze fu ripiena di commensali. 11Or il re, entrato per vedere quelli che erano a tavola, notò quivi un uomo che non vestiva l’abito di nozze. 12E gli disse: Amico, come sei entrato qua senza aver un abito da nozze? E colui ebbe la bocca chiusa. 13Allora il re disse ai servitori: Legatelo mani e piedi e gettatelo nelle tenebre di fuori. Ivi sarà il pianto e lo stridor de’ denti. 14Poiché molti son chiamati, ma pochi eletti. 15Allora i Farisei, ritiratisi, tennero consiglio per veder di coglierlo in fallo nelle sue parole. 16E gli mandarono i loro discepoli con gli Erodiani a dirgli: Maestro, noi sappiamo che sei verace e insegni la via di Dio secondo verità, e non ti curi d’alcuno, perché non guardi all’apparenza delle persone. 17Dicci dunque: Che te ne pare? E’ egli lecito pagare il tributo a Cesare, o no? 18Ma Gesù, conosciuta la loro malizia, disse: Perché mi tentate, ipocriti? 19Mostratemi la moneta del tributo. Ed essi gli porsero un denaro. Ed egli domandò loro: 20Di chi è questa effigie e questa iscrizione? 21Gli risposero: Di Cesare. Allora egli disse loro: Rendete dunque a Cesare quel ch’è di Cesare, e a Dio quel ch’è di Dio. 22Ed essi, udito ciò, si maravigliarono; e, lasciatolo, se ne andarono. 23In quell’istesso giorno vennero a lui de’ Sadducei, i quali dicono che non v’è risurrezione, e gli domandarono: 24Maestro, Mosè ha detto: Se uno muore senza figliuoli, il fratel suo sposi la moglie di lui e susciti progenie al suo fratello. 25Or v’erano fra di noi sette fratelli; e il primo, ammogliatosi, morì; e, non avendo prole, lasciò sua moglie al suo fratello. 26Lo stesso fece pure il secondo, poi il terzo, fino al settimo. 27Infine, dopo tutti, morì anche la donna. 28Alla risurrezione, dunque, di quale dei sette sarà ella moglie? Poiché tutti l’hanno avuta. 29Ma Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Voi errate, perché non conoscete le Scritture, né la potenza di Dio. 30Perché alla risurrezione né si prende né si dà moglie; ma i risorti son come angeli ne’ cieli. 31Quanto poi alla risurrezione dei morti, non avete voi letto quel che vi fu insegnato da Dio, 32quando disse: Io sono l’Iddio di Abramo e l’Iddio d’Isacco e l’Iddio di Giacobbe? Egli non è l’Iddio de’ morti, ma de’ viventi. 33E le turbe, udite queste cose, stupivano della sua dottrina. 34Or i Farisei, udito ch’egli avea chiusa la bocca a’ Sadducei, si raunarono insieme; 35e uno di loro, dottor della legge, gli domandò, per metterlo alla prova: 36Maestro, qual è, nella legge, il gran comandamento? 37E Gesù gli disse: Ama il Signore Iddio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l’anima tua e con tutta la mente tua. 38Questo è il grande e il primo comandamento. 39Il secondo, simile ad esso, è: Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso. 40Da questi due comandamenti dipendono tutta la legge ed i profeti. 41Or essendo i Farisei raunati, Gesù li interrogò dicendo: 42Che vi par egli del Cristo? di chi è egli figliuolo? Essi gli risposero: Di Davide. 43Ed egli a loro: Come dunque Davide, parlando per lo Spirito, lo chiama Signore, dicendo: 44Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia posto i tuoi nemici sotto i tuoi piedi? 45Se dunque Davide lo chiama Signore, com’è egli suo figliuolo? 46E nessuno potea replicargli parola; e da quel giorno nessuno ardì più interrogarlo.
1Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying, 2“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son, 3and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come. 4Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’ 5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise, 6and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them. 7When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. 8“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy. 9Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’ 10Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests. 11But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing, 12and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless. 13Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’ 14For many are called, but few chosen.” 15Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk. 16They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone. 17Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” 18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites? 19Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius. 20He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” 21They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” 22When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away. 23On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him, 24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.’ 25Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother. 26In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh. 27After them all, the woman died. 28In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.” 29But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven. 31But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, 32‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching. 34But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together. 35One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him. 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” 37Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and great commandment. 39A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” 41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, 42saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.” 43He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, 44‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’ 45“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” 46No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
1En Jezus, antwoordende, sprak tot hen wederom door gelijkenissen, zeggende: 2Het Koninkrijk der hemelen is gelijk een zeker koning, die zijn zoon een bruiloft bereid had; 3En zond zijn dienstknechten uit, om de genoden ter bruiloft te roepen; en zij wilden niet komen. 4Wederom zond hij andere dienstknechten uit, zeggende: Zegt den genoden: Ziet, ik heb mijn middagmaal bereid; mijn ossen, en de gemeste beesten zijn geslacht, en alle dingen zijn gereed; komt tot de bruiloft. 5Maar zij, zulks niet achtende, zijn heengegaan, deze tot zijn akker, gene tot zijn koopmanschap. 6En de anderen grepen zijn dienstknechten, deden hun smaadheid aan, en doodden hen. 7Als nu de koning dat hoorde, werd hij toornig, en zijn krijgsheiren zendende, heeft die doodslagers vernield, en hun stad in brand gestoken. 8Toen zeide hij tot zijn dienstknechten: De bruiloft is wel bereid, doch de genoden waren het niet waardig. 9Daarom gaat op de uitgangen der wegen, en zovelen als gij er zult vinden, roept ze tot de bruiloft. 10En dezelve dienstknechten, uitgaande op de wegen, vergaderden allen, die zij vonden, beiden kwaden en goeden; en de bruiloft werd vervuld met aanzittende gasten. 11En als de koning ingegaan was, om de aanzittende gasten te overzien, zag hij aldaar een mens, niet gekleed zijnde met een bruiloftskleed; 12En zeide tot hem: Vriend! hoe zijt gij hier ingekomen, geen bruiloftskleed aan hebbende? En hij verstomde. 13Toen zeide de koning tot de dienaars: Bindt zijn handen en voeten, neemt hem weg, en werpt hem uit in de buitenste duisternis; daar zal zijn wening en knersing der tanden. 14Want velen zijn geroepen, maar weinigen uitverkoren. 15Toen gingen de Farizeen heen, en hielden te zamen raad, hoe zij Hem verstrikken zouden in Zijn rede. 16En zij zonden uit tot Hem hun discipelen, met de Herodianen, zeggende: Meester! wij weten, dat Gij waarachtig zijt, en de weg Gods in der waarheid leert, en naar niemand vraagt; want Gij ziet den persoon der mensen niet aan; 17Zeg ons dan: wat dunkt U? Is het geoorloofd, den keizer schatting te geven of niet? 18Maar Jezus, bekennende hun boosheid, zeide: 19Gij geveinsden, wat verzoekt gij Mij? Toont Mij de schattingpenning. En zij brachten Hem een penning. 20En Hij zeide tot hen: Wiens is dit beeld en het opschrift? 21Zij zeiden tot Hem: Des keizers. Toen zeide Hij tot hen: Geeft dan den keizer, dat des keizers is, en Gode, dat Gods is. 22En zij, dit horende, verwonderden zich, en Hem verlatende, zijn zij weggegaan. 23Te dienzelfden dage kwamen tot Hem de Sadduceen, die zeggen, dat er geen opstanding is, en vraagden Hem, 24Zeggende: Meester! Mozes heeft gezegd: Indien iemand sterft, geen kinderen hebbende, zo zal zijn broeder deszelfs vrouw trouwen, en zijn broeder zaad verwekken. 25Nu waren er bij ons zeven broeders; en de eerste, een vrouw getrouwd hebbende, stierf; en dewijl hij geen zaad had, zo liet hij zijn vrouw voor zijn broeder. 26Desgelijks ook de tweede, en de derde, tot de zevende toe. 27Ten laatste na allen, is ook de vrouw gestorven. 28In de opstanding dan, wiens vrouw zal zij wezen van die zeven, want zij hebben ze allen gehad? 29Maar Jezus antwoordde en zeide tot hen: Gij dwaalt, niet wetende de Schriften, noch de kracht Gods. 30Want in de opstanding nemen zij niet ten huwelijk, noch worden ten huwelijk uitgegeven; maar zij zijn als engelen Gods in de hemel. 31En wat aangaat de opstanding der doden, hebt gij niet gelezen, hetgeen van God tot ulieden gesproken is, Die daar zegt: 32Ik ben de God Abrahams, en de God Izaks, en de God Jakobs! God is niet een God der doden, maar der levenden. 33En de scharen, dit horende, werden verslagen over Zijn leer. 34En de Farizeen, gehoord hebbende, dat Hij de Sadduceen den mond gestopt had, zijn te zamen bijeenvergaderd. 35En een uit hen, zijnde een Wetgeleerde, heeft gevraagd, Hem verzoekende, en zeggende: 36Meester! welk is het grote gebod in de wet? 37En Jezus zeide tot hem: Gij zult liefhebben den Heere, uw God, met geheel uw hart, en met geheel uw ziel, en met geheel uw verstand. 38Dit is het eerste en het grote gebod. 39En het tweede aan dit gelijk, is: Gij zult uw naaste liefhebben als uzelven. 40Aan deze twee geboden hangt de ganse wet en de profeten. 41Als nu de Farizeen samenvergaderd waren, vraagde hun Jezus, 42En zeide: Wat dunkt u van den Christus? Wiens Zoon is Hij? Zij zeiden tot Hem: Davids Zoon. 43Hij zeide tot hen: Hoe noemt Hem dan David, in de Geest, zijn Heere? zeggende: 44De Heere heeft gezegd tot Mijn Heere: Zit aan Mijn rechter hand, totdat Ik Uw vijanden zal gezet hebben tot een voetbank Uwer voeten. 45Indien Hem dan David noemt zijn Heere, hoe is Hij zijn Zoon? 46En niemand kon Hem een woord antwoorden; noch iemand durfde Hem van dien dag aan iets meer vragen.
