Yeremia 19

1Beginilah firman TUHAN, “Pergi dan belilah buli-buli tanah liat tukang periuk, dan bawalah beberapa tua-tua bangsa itu dan tua-tua para imam. 2Kemudian, pergilah ke Lembah Ben-Hinom, di dekat Pintu Gerbang Beling, dan serukanlah di sana firman yang Aku beritahukan kepadamu. 3Katakanlah, ‘Dengarkanlah firman TUHAN, hai raja-raja Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalem. Beginilah firman TUHAN semesta alam, Allah Israel: Lihatlah, Aku akan mendatangkan bencana ke atas tempat ini sehingga telinga setiap orang yang mendengarnya tergelitik. 4Karena mereka telah meninggalkan Aku dan menjadikan tempat ini asing, dan telah membakar kurban di situ untuk ilah-ilah lain, yang tidak dikenal oleh mereka atau nenek moyang mereka atau oleh raja-raja Yehuda, dan karena mereka telah memenuhi tempat ini dengan darah orang-orang yang tidak bersalah. 5Mereka telah membangun tempat-tempat tinggi untuk Baal, untuk membakar anak-anak mereka dalam api sebagai kurban bakaran untuk Baal, yang tidak Aku perintahkan atau firmankan, maupun terlintas dalam pikiran-Ku.’ 6‘Karena itu, lihatlah, waktunya akan datang, firman TUHAN, ‘ketika tempat ini tidak lagi disebut Tofet, atau Lembah Ben-Hinom, tetapi Lembah Pembantaian. 7Aku akan mengagalkan rancangan-rancangan Yehuda dan Yerusalem di tempat ini, dan akan membuat mereka jatuh oleh pedang di hadapan musuh-musuh mereka, dan oleh tangan-tangan orang-orang yang berusaha membunuh mereka. Aku akan memberikan mayat-mayat mereka kepada burung-burung di udara dan kepada binatang-binatang di bumi. 8Aku akan membuat kota ini menjadi suatu kengerian dan helaan napas. Setiap orang yang melewatinya akan ketakutan dan akan menghela napas karena semua lukanya. 9Aku akan membuat mereka memakan daging anak-anak laki-laki dan anak-anak perempuan mereka, dan setiap orang akan memakan daging sesamanya dalam pengepungan dan kesengsaraan, yang digunakan oleh musuh-musuh mereka dan orang-orang yang berusaha membunuh mereka.’ 10Kemudian, kamu harus memecahkan buli-buli itu di hadapan orang-orang yang pergi bersamamu 11dan berkata kepada mereka, ‘Beginilah perkataan Tuhan semesta alam: Seperti itulah Aku akan memecahkan bangsa ini dan kota ini, seperti orang yang memecahkan bejana tukang periuk, yang tidak dapat diperbaiki lagi. Tofet akan menjadi tempat mengubur karena tidak ada lagi tempat untuk mengubur. 12Itulah yang akan Aku lakukan terhadap tempat ini,’ firman TUHAN, ‘dan kepada penduduknya, yaitu menjadikan kota ini seperti Tofet. 13Rumah-rumah Yerusalem dan rumah-rumah raja-raja Yehuda akan dicemari seperti tempat Tofet, yaitu semua rumah yang di atapnya orang-orang membakar persembahan untuk semua tentara langit dan menuangkan persembahan curahan kepada ilah-ilah lain.’” 14Kemudian, Yeremia datang dari Tofet, tempat TUHAN telah mengutusnya untuk bernubuat, dan berdiri di pelataran rumah TUHAN dan berkata kepada semua orang, 15“Beginilah firman TUHAN semesta alam, Allah Israel, ‘Ketahuilah, Aku akan mendatangkan ke atas kota ini dan ke atas semua kota-kotanya semua bencana yang telah Aku nyatakan kepadanya karena mereka telah mengeraskan leher mereka sehingga mereka tidak mendengarkan firman-Ku.’”

1Thus said Yahweh, Go, and buy a potter’s earthen bottle, and take some of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests; 2and go out to the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the gate Harsith, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you; 3and say, Hear Yahweh’s word, kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, which whoever hears, his ears shall tingle. 4Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods, that they didn’t know, they and their fathers and the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with the blood of innocents, 5and have built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons in the fire for burnt offerings to Baal; which I didn’t command, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind: 6therefore, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter. 7I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life: and their dead bodies will I give to be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. 8I will make this city an astonishment, and a hissing; everyone who passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues. 9I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters; and they shall eat everyone the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies, and those who seek their life, shall distress them. 10Then you shall break the bottle in the sight of the men who go with you, 11and shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that can’t be made whole again; and they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury. 12Thus will I do to this place, says Yahweh, and to its inhabitants, even making this city as Topheth: 13and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, shall be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky, and have poured out drink offerings to other gods. 14Then came Jeremiah from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people: 15Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.

1Zo zegt de HEERE: Ga henen en koop een pottenbakkerskruik, en neem tot u van de oudsten des volks, en van de oudsten der priesteren. 2En ga uit naar het dal des zoons van Hinnom, dat voor de deur der Zonnepoort is, en roep aldaar uit de woorden, die Ik tot u spreken zal; 3En zeg: Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij koningen van Juda en inwoners van Jeruzalem! Alzo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal een kwaad brengen over deze plaats, van hetwelk een ieder, die het hoort, zijn oren klinken zullen; 4Omdat zij Mij verlaten, en deze plaats vervreemd, en andere goden daarin gerookt hebben die zij niet gekend hebben, zij, noch hun vaderen, noch de koningen van Juda; en hebben deze plaats vervuld met bloed der onschuldigen. 5Want zij hebben de hoogten van Baal gebouwd, om hun zonen met vuur te verbranden, aan Baal tot brandofferen; hetwelk Ik niet geboden, noch gesproken heb, noch in Mijn hart is opgekomen? 6Daarom, ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat deze plaats niet meer zal genoemd worden het Tofeth, of dat des zoons van Hinnom, maar Moorddal. 7Want Ik zal den raad van Juda en Jeruzalem in deze plaats verijdelen, en zal hen voor het aangezicht hunner vijanden doen vallen door het zwaard, en door de hand dergenen, die hun ziel zoeken; en Ik zal hun dode lichamen het gevogelte des hemels en het gedierte der aarde tot spijze geven. 8En Ik zal deze stad zetten tot een ontzetting en tot een aanfluiting; al wie voorbij haar gaat, zal zich ontzetten en fluiten over al haar plagen. 9En Ik zal hunlieden het vlees hunner zonen en het vlees hunner dochteren doen eten, en zij zullen eten, een iegelijk het vlees zijns naasten, in de belegering en in de benauwing, waarmede hen hun vijanden, en die hun ziel zoeken, benauwen zullen. 10Dan zult gij de kruik verbreken voor de ogen der mannen, die met u gegaan zijn; 11En gij zult tot hen zeggen: Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen: Alzo zal Ik dit volk en deze stad verbreken, gelijk als men een pottenbakkersvat verbreekt, dat niet weder geheeld kan worden; en zij zullen hen in Tofeth begraven, omdat er geen andere plaats zal zijn om te begraven. 12Zo zal Ik deze plaats doen, spreekt de HEERE, en haar inwoners; en dat om deze stad te stellen als een Tofeth. 13En de huizen van Jeruzalem en de huizen der koningen van Juda zullen, gelijk alle plaatsen van Tofeth, onrein worden, met al de huizen, op welker daken zij aan al het heir des hemels gerookt en aan vreemde goden drankofferen geofferd hebben. 14Toen nu Jeremia van Tofeth kwam, waarhenen hem de HEERE gezonden had, om te profeteren, stond hij in het voorhof van des HEEREN huis, en zeide tot al het volk: 15Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal over deze stad, en over al haar steden, al het kwaad brengen, dat Ik over haar gesproken heb; omdat zij hun nek verhard hebben, om Mijn woorden niet te horen.
