Zacharie 9

1Oracle, parole de l’Éternel sur le pays de Hadrac. Elle s’arrête sur Damas, Car l’Éternel a l’œil sur les hommes Comme sur toutes les tribus d’Israël ; 2Elle s’arrête aussi sur Hamath, à la frontière de Damas, Sur Tyr et Sidon, malgré toute leur sagesse. 3Tyr s’est bâti une forteresse ; Elle a amassé l’argent comme la poussière, Et l’or comme la boue des rues. 4Voici, le Seigneur s’en emparera, Il précipitera sa puissance dans la mer, Et elle sera consumée par le feu. 5Askalon le verra, et elle sera dans la crainte ; Gaza aussi, et un violent tremblement la saisira ; Ékron aussi, car son espoir sera confondu. Le roi disparaîtra de Gaza, Et Askalon ne sera plus habitée. 6L’étranger s’établira dans Asdod, Et j’abattrai l’orgueil des Philistins. 7J’ôterai le sang de sa bouche, Et les abominations d’entre ses dents ; Lui aussi restera pour notre Dieu ; Il sera comme un chef en Juda, Et Ékron sera comme les Jébusiens. 8Je camperai autour de ma maison pour la défendre contre une armée, Contre les allants et les venants, Et l’oppresseur ne passera plus près d’eux ; Car maintenant mes yeux sont fixés sur elle. 9Sois transportée d’allégresse, fille de Sion ! Pousse des cris de joie, fille de Jérusalem ! Voici, ton roi vient à toi ; Il est juste et victorieux, Il est humble et monté sur un âne, Sur un âne, le petit d’une ânesse. 10Je détruirai les chars d’Éphraïm, Et les chevaux de Jérusalem ; Et les arcs de guerre seront anéantis. Il annoncera la paix aux nations, Et il dominera d’une mer à l’autre, Depuis le fleuve jusqu’aux extrémités de la terre. 11Et pour toi, à cause de ton alliance scellée par le sang, Je retirerai tes captifs de la fosse où il n’y a pas d’eau. 12Retournez à la forteresse, captifs pleins d’espérance ! Aujourd’hui encore je le déclare, Je te rendrai le double. 13Car je bande Juda comme un arc, Je m’arme d’Éphraïm comme d’un arc, Et je soulèverai tes enfants, ô Sion, Contre tes enfants, ô Javan ! Je te rendrai pareille à l’épée d’un vaillant homme. 14L’Éternel au-dessus d’eux apparaîtra, Et sa flèche partira comme l’éclair ; Le Seigneur, l’Éternel, sonnera de la trompette, Il s’avancera dans l’ouragan du midi. 15L’Éternel des armées les protégera ; Ils dévoreront, ils vaincront les pierres de la fronde ; Ils boiront, ils seront bruyants comme pris de vin ; Ils seront pleins comme une coupe, Comme les coins de l’autel. 16L’Éternel, leur Dieu, les sauvera en ce jour-là, Comme le troupeau de son peuple ; Car ils sont les pierres d’un diadème, Qui brilleront dans son pays. 17Oh ! quelle prospérité pour eux ! quelle beauté ! Le froment fera croître les jeunes hommes, Et le moût les jeunes filles.

1An oracle. Yahweh’s word is against the land of Hadrach, and will rest upon Damascus; for the eye of man and of all the tribes of Israel is toward Yahweh; 2and Hamath, also, which borders on it; Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise. 3Tyre built herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver like the dust, and fine gold like the mire of the streets. 4Behold, the Lord will dispossess her, and he will strike her power in the sea; and she will be devoured with fire. 5Ashkelon will see it, and fear; Gaza also, and will writhe in agony; as will Ekron, for her expectation will be disappointed; and the king will perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon will not be inhabited. 6Foreigners will dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. 7I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth; and he also will be a remnant for our God; and he will be as a chieftain in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite. 8I will encamp around my house against the army, that no one pass through or return; and no oppressor will pass through them any more: for now I have seen with my eyes. 9Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. 10I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow will be cut off; and he will speak peace to the nations: and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. 11As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water. 12Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope! Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. 13For indeed I bend Judah as a bow for me. I have filled the bow with Ephraim; and I will stir up your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and will make you like the sword of a mighty man. 14Yahweh will be seen over them; and his arrow will go flash like lightning; and the Lord Yahweh will blow the trumpet, and will go with whirlwinds of the south. 15Yahweh of Armies will defend them; and they will destroy and overcome with sling stones; and they will drink, and roar as through wine; and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar. 16Yahweh their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they are like the jewels of a crown, lifted on high over his land. 17For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.

1De last van het woord des HEEREN over het land Chadrach en Damaskus, deszelfs rust; want de HEERE heeft een oog over den mens, gelijk over al de stammen Israels. 2En ook zal Hij Hamath met dezelve bepalen; Tyrus en Sidon, hoewel zij zeer wijs is; 3En Tyrus zich sterkten gebouwd heeft, en zilver verzameld heeft als stof, en fijn goud als slijk der straten; 4Ziet, de HEERE zal haar uit het bezit stoten, en Hij zal haar vesting in de zee verslaan; en zij zal met vuur verteerd worden. 5Askelon zal het zien, en zal vrezen; desgelijks Gaza, en zal grote smart hebben, mitsgaders Ekron, dewijl hetgeen, waar zij op zagen, hen heeft te schande gemaakt; en de koning van Gaza zal vergaan, en Askelon zal niet bewoond worden. 6En de bastaard zal te Asdod wonen, en Ik zal den hoogmoed der Filistijnen uitroeien. 7En Ik zal zijn bloed uit zijn mond wegdoen, en zijn verfoeiselen van tussen zijn tanden; alzo zal hij ook onzen God overblijven; ja, hij zal zijn als een vorst in Juda, en Ekron als de Jebusiet. 8En Ik zal Mij rondom Mijn huis legeren, vanwege het heirleger, vanwege den doorgaande, en vanwege den wederkerende, opdat de drijver niet meer door hen doorga; want nu heb Ik het met Mijn ogen aangezien. 9Verheug u zeer, gij dochter Sions! juich, gij dochter Jeruzalems! Ziet, uw Koning zal u komen, rechtvaardig, en Hij is een Heiland; arm, en rijdende op een ezel, en op een veulen, een jong der ezelinnen. 10En Ik zal de wagens uit Efraim uitroeien, en de paarden uit Jeruzalem; ook zal de strijdboog uitgeroeid worden, en Hij zal den heidenen vrede spreken; en Zijn heerschappij zal zijn van zee tot aan zee, en van de rivier tot aan de einden der aarde. 11U ook aangaande, o Sion! door het bloed uws verbonds, heb Ik uw gebondenen uit den kuil, daar geen water in is, uitgelaten. 12Keert gijlieden weder tot de sterkte, gij gebondenen, die daar hoopt! ook heden verkondig Ik, dat Ik u dubbel zal wedergeven; 13Als Ik Mij Juda zal gespannen, en Ik Efraim den boog zal gevuld hebben; en Ik uw kinderen, o Sion! zal verwekt hebben tegen uw kinderen, o Griekenland! en u gesteld zal hebben als het zwaard van een held. 14En de HEERE zal over henlieden verschijnen, en Zijn pijlen zullen uitvaren als een bliksem; en de Heere HEERE zal met de bazuin blazen, en Hij zal voorttreden met stormen uit het zuiden. 15De HEERE der heirscharen zal hen beschutten, en zij zullen eten, nadat zij de slingerstenen zullen ten ondergebracht hebben; zij zullen ook drinken, en een gedruis maken als de wijn; en zij zullen vervuld worden, gelijk het bekken, gelijk de hoeken des altaars. 16En de HEERE, hun God, zal ze te dien dage behouden, als zijnde de kudde Zijns volks; want gekroonde stenen zullen in Zijn land, als een banier, opgericht worden. 17Want hoe groot zal zijn goed wezen en hoe groot zal zijn schoonheid wezen! Het koren zal de jongelingen, en de most zal de jonkvrouwen sprekende maken.
