Osée 2

1Cependant le nombre des enfants d’Israël sera comme le sable de la mer, qui ne peut ni se mesurer ni se compter ; et au lieu qu’on leur disait : Vous n’êtes pas mon peuple ! on leur dira : Fils du Dieu vivant ! 2Les enfants de Juda et les enfants d’Israël se rassembleront, se donneront un chef, et sortiront du pays ; car grande sera la journée de Jizreel. 3Dites à vos frères : Ammi ! et à vos sœurs : Ruchama ! 4Plaidez, plaidez contre votre mère, car elle n’est point ma femme, et je ne suis point son mari ! Qu’elle ôte de sa face ses prostitutions, et de son sein ses adultères ! 5Sinon, je la dépouille à nu, je la mets comme au jour de sa naissance, je la rends semblable à un désert, à une terre aride, et je la fais mourir de soif ; 6et je n’aurai pas pitié de ses enfants, car ce sont des enfants de prostitution. 7Leur mère s’est prostituée, celle qui les a conçus s’est déshonorée, car elle a dit : J’irai après mes amants, qui me donnent mon pain et mon eau, ma laine et mon lin, mon huile et ma boisson. 8C’est pourquoi voici, je vais fermer son chemin avec des épines et y élever un mur, afin qu’elle ne trouve plus ses sentiers. 9Elle poursuivra ses amants, et ne les atteindra pas ; elle les cherchera, et ne les trouvera pas. Puis elle dira : J’irai, et je retournerai vers mon premier mari, car alors j’étais plus heureuse que maintenant. 10Elle n’a pas reconnu que c’était moi qui lui donnais le blé, le moût et l’huile ; et l’on a consacré au service de Baal l’argent et l’or que je lui prodiguais. 11C’est pourquoi je reprendrai mon blé en son temps et mon moût dans sa saison, et j’enlèverai ma laine et mon lin qui devaient couvrir sa nudité. 12Et maintenant je découvrirai sa honte aux yeux de ses amants, et nul ne la délivrera de ma main. 13Je ferai cesser toute sa joie, ses fêtes, ses nouvelles lunes, ses sabbats et toutes ses solennités. 14Je ravagerai ses vignes et ses figuiers, dont elle disait : C’est le salaire que m’ont donné mes amants ! Je les réduirai en une forêt, et les bêtes des champs les dévoreront. 15Je la châtierai pour les jours où elle encensait les Baals, où elle se paraît de ses anneaux et de ses colliers, allait après ses amants, et m’oubliait, dit l’Éternel. 16C’est pourquoi voici, je veux l’attirer et la conduire au désert, et je parlerai à son cœur. 17Là, je lui donnerai ses vignes et la vallée d’Acor, comme une porte d’espérance, et là, elle chantera comme au temps de sa jeunesse, et comme au jour où elle remonta du pays d’Égypte. 18En ce jour-là, dit l’Éternel, tu m’appelleras : Mon mari ! et tu ne m’appelleras plus : Mon maître ! 19J’ôterai de sa bouche les noms des Baals, afin qu’on ne les mentionne plus par leurs noms. 20En ce jour-là, je traiterai pour eux une alliance avec les bêtes des champs, les oiseaux du ciel et les reptiles de la terre, je briserai dans le pays l’arc, l’épée et la guerre, et je les ferai reposer avec sécurité. 21Je serai ton fiancé pour toujours ; je serai ton fiancé par la justice, la droiture, la grâce et la miséricorde ; 22je serai ton fiancé par la fidélité, et tu reconnaîtras l’Éternel. 23En ce jour-là, j’exaucerai, dit l’Éternel, j’exaucerai les cieux, et ils exauceront la terre ; 24la terre exaucera le blé, le moût et l’huile, et ils exauceront Jizreel. 25Je planterai pour moi Lo-Ruchama dans le pays, et je lui ferai miséricorde ; je dirai à Lo-Ammi : Tu es mon peuple ! et il répondra : Mon Dieu !

1“Say to your brothers, ‘My people!’ and to your sisters, ‘My loved one!’ 2Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her prostitution from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts; 3Lest I strip her naked, and make her bare as in the day that she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst. 4Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy; for they are children of unfaithfulness; 5For their mother has played the prostitute. She who conceived them has done shamefully; for she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’ 6Therefore behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she can’t find her way. 7She will follow after her lovers, but she won’t overtake them; and she will seek them, but won’t find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.’ 8For she did not know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal. 9Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my new wine in its season, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness. 10Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of my hand. 11I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies. 12I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, about which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me; and I will make them a forest,’ and the animals of the field shall eat them. 13I will visit on her the days of the Baals, to which she burned incense, when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me,” says Yahweh. 14“Therefore behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. 15I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. 16It will be in that day,” says Yahweh, “that you will call me ‘my husband,’ and no longer call me ‘my master.’ 17For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by name. 18In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely. 19I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. 20I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh. 21It will happen in that day, I will respond,” says Yahweh, “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth; 22and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel. 23I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will tell those who were not my people, ‘You are my people;’ and they will say, ‘My God!’”

1Zegt tot uw broederen: Ammi, en tot uw zusteren: Ruchama. 2Twist tegen ulieder moeder, twist, omdat zij Mijn vrouw niet is, en Ik haar Man niet ben; en laat ze haar hoererijen van haar aangezicht, en haar overspelerijen van tussen haar borsten wegdoen. 3Opdat Ik ze niet naakt uitstrope, en zette ze als ten dage, toen zij geboren werd; ja, make ze als een woestijn, en zette ze als een dor land, en dode ze door dorst; 4En Mij harer kinderen niet ontferme, omdat zij kinderen der hoererijen zijn. 5Want hunlieder moeder hoereert, die henlieden ontvangen heeft, handelt schandelijk; want zij zegt: Ik zal mijn boelen nagaan, die mij mijn brood en mijn water, mijn wol en mijn vlas, mijn olie en mijn drank geven. 6Daarom, ziet, Ik zal uw weg met doornen betuinen, en Ik zal een heiningmuur maken, dat zij haar paden niet zal vinden. 7En zij zal haar boelen nalopen, maar dezelve niet aantreffen; en zij zal hen zoeken, maar niet vinden; dan zal zij zeggen: Ik zal henengaan, en keren weder tot mijn vorigen Man, want toen was mij beter dan nu. 8Zij bekent toch niet, dat Ik haar het koren, en den most, en de olie gegeven heb, en haar het zilver en goud vermenigvuldigd heb, dat zij tot den Baal gebruikt hebben. 9Daarom zal Ik wederkomen, en Mijn koren wegnemen op zijn tijd, en Mijn most op zijn gezetten tijd; en Ik zal wegrukken Mijn wol en Mijn vlas, dienende om haar naaktheid te bedekken. 10En nu zal Ik haar dwaasheid ontdekken voor de ogen harer boelen; en niemand zal haar uit Mijn hand verlossen. 11En Ik zal doen ophouden al haar vrolijkheid, haar feesten, haar nieuwe maanden, en haar sabbatten, ja, al haar gezette hoogtijden. 12En Ik zal verwoesten haar wijnstok en haar vijgeboom, waarvan zij zegt: Deze zijn mij een hoerenloon, dat mij mijn boelen gegeven hebben; maar Ik zal ze stellen tot een woud, en het wild gedierte des velds zal ze vreten. 13En Ik zal over haar bezoeken de dagen des Baals, waarin zij dien gerookt heeft, en zich versierd met haar voorhoofdsiersel, en haar halssieraad, en is haar boelen nagegaan, maar heeft Mij vergeten, spreekt de HEERE. 14Daarom, ziet, Ik zal haar lokken, en zal haar voeren in de woestijn; en Ik zal naar haar hart spreken. 15En Ik zal haar geven haar wijngaarden van daar af, en het dal Achor, tot een deur der hoop; en aldaar zal zij zingen, als in de dagen harer jeugd, en als ten dage, toen zij optoog uit Egypteland. 16En het zal te dien dage geschieden, spreekt de HEERE, dat gij Mij noemen zult: Mijn Man; en Mij niet meer noemen zult: Mijn Baal! 17En Ik zal de namen der Baals van haar mond wegdoen; zij zullen niet meer bij hun namen gedacht worden. 18En Ik zal te dien dage een verbond voor hen maken met het wild gedierte des velds, en met het gevogelte des hemels, en het kruipend gedierte des aardbodems; en Ik zal den boog, en het zwaard, en den krijg van de aarde verbreken, en zal hen in zekerheid doen nederliggen. 19En Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in eeuwigheid; ja, Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in gerechtigheid en in gericht, en in goedertierenheid en in barmhartigheden. 20En Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in geloof; en gij zult den HEERE kennen. 21En het zal te dien dage geschieden, dat Ik verhoren zal, spreekt de HEERE; Ik zal den hemel verhoren, en die zal de aarde verhoren. 22En de aarde zal het koren verhoren, mitsgaders den most en de olie; en die zullen Jizreel verhoren. 23En Ik zal ze Mij op de aarde zaaien, en zal Mij ontfermen over Lo-ruchama; en Ik zal zeggen tot Lo-ammi: Gij zijt Mijn volk; en dat zal zeggen: O, mijn God!
