1Y SAULO, respirando aún amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al príncipe de los sacerdotes, 2Y demandó de él letras para Damasco á las sinagogas, para que si hallase algunos hombres ó mujeres de esta secta, los trajese presos á Jerusalem. 3Y yendo por el camino, aconteció que llegando cerca de Damasco, súbitamente le cercó un resplandor de luz del cielo; 4Y cayendo en tierra, oyó una voz que le decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues? 5Y él dijo: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y él dijo: Yo soy Jesús á quien tú persigues: dura cosa te es dar coces contra el aguijón. 6El, temblando y temeroso, dijo: Señor, ¿qué quieres que haga? Y el Señor le dice: Levántate y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que te conviene hacer. 7Y los hombres que iban con Saulo, se pararon atónitos, oyendo á la verdad la voz, mas no viendo á nadie. 8Entonces Saulo se levantó de tierra, y abriendo los ojos, no veía á nadie: así que, llevándole por la mano, metiéronle en Damasco; 9Donde estuvo tres días sin ver, y no comió, ni bebió. 10Había entonces un discípulo en Damasco llamado Ananías, al cual el Señor dijo en visión: Ananías. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, Señor. 11Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y ve á la calle que se llama la Derecha, y busca en casa de Judas á uno llamado Saulo, de Tarso: porque he aquí, él ora; 12Y ha visto en visión un varón llamado Ananías, que entra y le pone la mano encima, para que reciba la vista. 13Entonces Ananías respondió: Señor, he oído á muchos acerca de este hombre, cuántos males ha hecho á tus santos en Jerusalem: 14Y aun aquí tiene facultad de los príncipes de los sacerdotes de prender á todos los que invocan tu nombre. 15Y le dijo el Señor: Ve: porque instrumento escogido me es éste, para que lleve mi nombre en presencia de los Gentiles, y de reyes, y de los hijos de Israel: 16Porque yo le mostraré cuánto le sea menester que padezca por mi nombre. 17Ananías entonces fué, y entró en la casa, y poniéndole las manos encima, dijo: Saulo hermano, el Señor Jesús, que te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recibas la vista y seas lleno de Espíritu Santo. 18Y luego le cayeron de los ojos como escamas, y recibió al punto la vista: y levantándose, fué bautizado. 19Y como comió, fué confortado. Y estuvo Saulo por algunos días con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco. 20Y luego en las sinagogas predicaba á Cristo, diciendo que éste era el Hijo de Dios. 21Y todos los que le oían estaban atónitos, y decían: ¿No es éste el que asolaba en Jerusalem á los que invocaban este nombre, y á eso vino acá, para llevarlos presos á los príncipes de los sacerdotes? 22Empero Saulo mucho más se esforzaba, y confundía á los Judíos que moraban en Damasco, afirmando que éste es el Cristo. 23Y como pasaron muchos días, los Judíos hicieron entre sí consejo de matarle; 24Mas las asechanzas de ellos fueron entendidas de Saulo. Y ellos guardaban las puertas de día y de noche para matarle. 25Entonces los discípulos, tomándole de noche, le bajaron por el muro en una espuerta. 26Y como vino á Jerusalem, tentaba de juntarse con los discípulos; mas todos tenían miedo de él, no creyendo que era discípulo. 27Entonces Bernabé, tomándole, lo trajo á los apóstoles, y contóles cómo había visto al Señor en el camino, y que le había hablado, y cómo en Damasco había hablado confiadamente en el nombre de Jesús. 28Y entraba y salía con ellos en Jerusalem; 29Y hablaba confiadamente en el nombre del Señor: y disputaba con los Griegos; mas ellos procuraban matarle. 30Lo cual, como los hermanos entendieron, le acompañaron hasta Cesarea, y le enviaron á Tarso. 31Las iglesias entonces tenían paz por toda Judea y Galilea y Samaria, y eran edificadas, andando en el temor del Señor; y con consuelo del Espíritu Santo eran multiplicadas. 32Y aconteció que Pedro, andándolos á todos, vino también á los santos que habitaban en Lydda. 33Y halló allí á uno que se llamaba Eneas, que hacía ocho años que estaba en cama, que era paralítico. 34Y le dijo Pedro: Eneas, Jesucristo te sana; levántate, y hazte tu cama. Y luego se levantó. 35Y viéronle todos los que habitaban en Lydda y en Sarona, los cuales se convirtieron al Señor. 36Entonces en Joppe había una discípula llamada Tabita, que si lo declaras, quiere decir Dorcas. Esta era llena de buenas obras y de limosnas que hacía. 37Y aconteció en aquellos días que enfermando, murió; á la cual, después de lavada, pusieron en una sala. 38Y como Lydda estaba cerca de Joppe, los discípulos, oyendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos hombres, rogándole: No te detengas en venir hasta nosotros. 39Pedro entonces levantándose, fué con ellos: y llegado que hubo, le llevaron á la sala, donde le rodearon todas las viudas, llorando y mostrando las túnicas y los vestidos que Dorcas hacía cuando estaba con ellas. 40Entonces echados fuera todos, Pedro puesto de rodillas, oró; y vuelto al cuerpo, dijo: Tabita, levántate. Y ella abrió los ojos, y viendo á Pedro, incorporóse. 41Y él le dió la mano, y levantóla: entonces llamando á los santos y las viudas, la presentó viva. 42Esto fué notorio por toda Joppe; y creyeron muchos en el Señor. 43Y aconteció que se quedó muchos días en Joppe en casa de un cierto Simón, curtidor.
1But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 2and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him. 4He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” 5He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6Butrise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” 7The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one. 8Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. 9He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank. 10Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.” 11The Lord said to him, “Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judahfor one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying, 12and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.” 13But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem. 14Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.” 15But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel. 16For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” 17Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized. 19He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus. 20Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God. 21All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!” 22But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ. 23When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him, 24but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him, 25but his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket. 26When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. 27But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus. 28He was with them entering into Jerusalem, 29preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him. 30When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus. 31So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. 32As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. 33There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed. 34Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose. 35All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. 36Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did. 37In those days, she fell sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. 38As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. 39Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. 40Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 41He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. 42And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. 43He stayed many days in Joppa with one Simon, a tanner.

En de Heere zeide tot hem: Sta op, en ga in de stad, en u zal aldaar gezegd worden, wat gij doen moet. 7En de mannen, die met hem over weg reisden, stonden verbaasd, horende wel de stem, maar niemand ziende. 8En Saulus stond op van de aarde; en als hij zijn ogen opendeed, zag hij niemand. En zij, hem bij de hand leidende, brachten hem te Damaskus. 9En hij was drie dagen, dat hij niet zag, en at niet, en dronk niet. 10En er was een zeker discipel te Damaskus, met name Ananias; en de Heere zeide tot hem in een gezicht: Ananias! En Saulus was sommige dagen bij de discipelen, die te Damaskus waren. 20En hij predikte terstond Christus in de synagogen, dat Hij de Zoon van God is. 21En zij ontzetten zich allen, die het hoorden, en zeiden: Is deze niet degene, die te Jeruzalem verstoorde, wie dezen Naam aanriepen, en die daarom hier gekomen is, opdat hij dezelve gebonden zou brengen tot de overpriesters? 22Doch Saulus werd meer en meer bekrachtigd, en overtuigde de Joden, die te Damaskus woonden, bewijzende, dat deze de Christus is. 23En als vele dagen verlopen waren, zo hielden de Joden te zamen raad, om hem te doden. 24Maar hun lage werd Saulus bekend; en zij bewaarden de poorten, beide des daags en des nachts, opdat zij hem doden mochten. 25Doch de discipelen namen hem des nachts, en lieten hem neder door den muur, hem aflatende in een mand. 26Saulus nu, te Jeruzalem gekomen zijnde, poogde zich bij de discipelen te voegen; maar zij vreesden hem allen, niet gelovende, dat hij een discipel was. 27Maar Barnabas, hem tot zich nemende, leidde hem tot de apostelen, en verhaalde hun, hoe hij op den weg den Heere gezien had, en dat Hij tot hem gesproken had; en hoe hij te Damaskus vrijmoediglijk gesproken had in den Naam van Jezus. 28En hij was met hen ingaande en uitgaande te Jeruzalem; 29En vrijmoediglijk sprekende in den Naam van den Heere Jezus, sprak hij ook, en handelde tegen de Griekse Joden; maar deze trachtten hem te doden. 30Doch de broeders, dit verstaande geleidden hem tot Cesarea, en zonden hem af naar Tarsen. 31De Gemeenten dan, door geheel Judea, en Galilea, en Samaria, hadden vrede, en werden gesticht; en wandelende in de vreze des Heeren, en de vertroosting des Heiligen Geestes, werden vermenigvuldigd. 32En het geschiedde, als Petrus alom doortrok, dat hij ook afkwam tot de heiligen, die te Lydda woonden. 33En aldaar vond hij een zeker mens, met name Eneas, die acht jaren te bed gelegen had, welke geraakt was. 34En Petrus zeide tot hem: Eneas! Jezus Christus maakt u gezond; sta op en spreid uzelven het bed. En hij stond terstond op. 35En zij zagen hem allen, die te Lydda en Sarona woonden, dewelke zich bekeerden tot den Heere. 36En te Joppe was een zekere discipelin, met name Tabitha, hetwelk overgezet zijnde, is gezegd Dorkas. Deze was vol van goede werken en aalmoezen, die zij deed. 37En het geschiedde in die dagen, dat zij krank werd en stierf; en als zij haar gewassen hadden, legden zij haar in de opperzaal. 38En alzo Lydda nabij Joppe was, de discipelen, horende, dat Petrus aldaar was, zonden twee mannen tot hem, biddende, dat hij niet zou vertoeven tot hen over te komen. 39En Petrus stond op, en ging met hen; welken zij, als hij daar gekomen was, in de opperzaal leidden. En al de weduwen stonden bij hem, wenende, en tonende de rokken en klederen, die Dorkas gemaakt had, als zij bij haar was. 40Maar Petrus, hebbende hen allen uitgedreven, knielde neder en bad: en zich kerende tot het lichaam, zeide hij: Tabitha, sta op! En zij deed haar ogen open, en Petrus gezien hebbende, zat zij over einde. 41En hij gaf haar de hand, en richtte haar op, en de heiligen en de weduwen geroepen hebbende, stelde hij haar levend voor hen. 42En dit werd bekend door geheel Joppe, en velen geloofden in den Heere. 43En het geschiedde, dat hij vele dagen te Joppe bleef, bij een zekeren Simon, een lederbereider.
