1ENTONCES cantó Moisés y los hijos de Israel este cántico á Jehová, y dijeron: Cantaré yo á Jehová, porque se ha magnificado grandemente, echando en la mar al caballo y al que en él subía. 2Jehová es mi fortaleza, y mi canción, y hame sido por salud: éste es mi Dios, y á éste engrandeceré; Dios de mi padre, y á éste ensalzaré. 3Jehová, varón de guerra; Jehová es su nombre. 4Los carros de Faraón y á su ejército echó en la mar; y sus escogidos príncipes fueron hundidos en el mar Bermejo. 5Los abismos los cubrieron; como piedra descendieron á los profundos. 6Tu diestra, oh Jehová, ha sido magnificada en fortaleza; tu diestra, oh Jehová, ha quebrantado al enemigo. 7Y con la grandeza de tu poder has trastornado á los que se levantaron contra ti: enviaste tu furor; los tragó como á hojarasca. 8Con el soplo de tus narices se amontonaron las aguas; paráronse las corrientes como en un montón; los abismos se cuajaron en medio de la mar. 9El enemigo dijo: Perseguiré, prenderé, repartiré despojos; mi alma se henchirá de ellos; sacaré mi espada, destruirlos ha mi mano. 10Soplaste con tu viento, cubriólos la mar: hundiéronse como plomo en las impetuosas aguas. 11¿Quién como tú, Jehová, entre los dioses? ¿quién como tú, magnífico en santidad, terrible en loores, hacedor de maravillas? 12Extendiste tu diestra; la tierra los tragó. 13Condujiste en tu misericordia á este pueblo, al cual salvaste; llevástelo con tu fortaleza á la habitación de tu santuario. 14Oiránlo los pueblos, y temblarán; apoderarse ha dolor de los moradores de Palestina. 15Entonces los príncipes de Edom se turbarán; á los robustos de Moab los ocupará temblor; abatirse han todos los moradores de Canaán. 16Caiga sobre ellos temblor y espanto; á la grandeza de tu brazo enmudezcan como una piedra; hasta que haya pasado tu pueblo, oh Jehová, hasta que haya pasado este pueblo que tú rescataste. 17Tú los introducirás y los plantarás en el monte de tu heredad, en el lugar de tu morada, que tú has aparejado, oh Jehová; en el santuario del Señor, que han afirmado tus manos. 18Jehová reinará por los siglos de los siglos. 19Porque Faraón entró cabalgando con sus carros y su gente de á caballo en la mar, y Jehová volvió á traer las aguas de la mar sobre ellos; mas los hijos de Israel fueron en seco por medio de la mar. 20Y María la profetisa, hermana de Aarón, tomó un pandero en su mano, y todas las mujeres salieron en pos de ella con panderos y danzas; 21Y María les respondía: Cantad á Jehová; porque en extremo se ha engrandecido, echando en la mar al caballo, y al que en él subía. 22E hizo Moisés que partiese Israel del mar Bermejo, y salieron al desierto de Shur; y anduvieron tres días por el desierto sin hallar agua. 23Y llegaron á Mara, y no pudieron beber las aguas de Mara, porque eran amargas; por eso le pusieron el nombre de Mara. 24Entonces el pueblo murmuró contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿Qué hemos de beber? 25Y Moisés clamó á Jehová; y Jehová le mostró un árbol, el cual metídolo que hubo dentro de las aguas, las aguas se endulzaron. Allí les dió estatutos y ordenanzas, y allí los probó; 26Y dijo: Si oyeres atentamente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, é hicieres lo recto delante de sus ojos, y dieres oído á sus mandamientos, y guardares todos sus estatutos, ninguna enfermedad de las que envié á los Egipcios te enviaré á ti; porque yo soy Jehová tu Sanador. 27Y llegaron á Elim, donde había doce fuentes de aguas, y setenta palmas; y asentaron allí junto á las aguas.
1Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. 2Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name. 4He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea. 5The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone. 6Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces. 7In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble. 8With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea. 9The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ 10You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them. 13“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation. 14The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. 15Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away. 16Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over who you have purchased. 17You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established. 18Yahweh shall reign forever and ever.” 19For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. 20Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. 21Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” 22Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. 24The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them; 26and he said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.” 27They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Het paard en zijn ruiter heeft Hij in de zee geworpen. 2De HEERE is mijn Kracht en Lied, en Hij is mij tot een Heil geweest; deze is mijn God; daarom zal ik Hem een liefelijke woning maken; Hij is mijns vaders God, dies zal ik Hem verheffen! 3De HEERE is een krijgsman; HEERE is Zijn Naam! 4Hij heeft Farao's wagenen en zijn heir in de zee geworpen; en de keure zijner hoofdlieden zijn verdronken in de Schelfzee. 5De afgronden hebben hen bedekt; zij zijn in de diepten gezonken als een steen. 6O HEERE! Uw rechterhand is verheerlijkt geworden in macht; Uw rechterhand, o HEERE! heeft den vijand verbroken! 7En door Uw grote hoogheid hebt Gij, die tegen U opstonden, omgeworpen; Gij hebt Uw brandenden toorn uitgezonden, die hen verteerd heeft als een stoppel. 8En door het geblaas van Uw neus zijn de wateren opgehoopt geworden; de stromen hebben overeind gestaan, als een hoop; de afgronden zijn stof geworden in het hart der zee. 9De vijand zeide: Ik zal vervolgen, ik zal achterhalen, ik zal den buit delen, mijn ziel zal van hen vervuld worden, ik zal mijn zwaard uittrekken, mijn hand zal hen uitroeien. 10Gij hebt met Uw wind geblazen; de zee heeft hen gedekt, zij zonken onder als lood in geweldige wateren! 11O HEERE! wie is als Gij onder de goden? wie is als Gij, verheerlijkt in heiligheid, vreselijk in lofzangen, doende wonder? 12Gij hebt Uw rechterhand uitgestrekt, de aarde heeft hen verslonden! 13Gij leiddet door Uw weldadigheid dit volk, dat Gij verlost hebt; Gij voert hen zachtkens door Uw sterkte tot de liefelijke woning Uwer heiligheid. 14De volken hebben het gehoord, zij zullen sidderen; weedom heeft de ingezetenen van Palestina bevangen. 15Dan zullen de vorsten van Edom verbaasd wezen; beving zal de machtigen der Moabieten bevangen; al de ingezetenen van Kanaan zullen versmelten! 16Verschrikking en vrees zal op hen vallen; door de grootheid van Uw arm zullen zij verstommen, als een steen, totdat Uw volk, HEERE! henen doorkome; totdat dit volk henen doorkome, dat Gij verworven hebt. 17Die zult Gij inbrengen, en planten hen op den berg Uwer erfenis, ter plaatse, welke Gij, o HEERE! gemaakt hebt tot Uw woning, het heiligdom, hetwelk Uw handen gesticht hebben, o HEERE! 18De HEERE zal in eeuwigheid en geduriglijk regeren! 19Want Farao's paard, met zijn wagen, met zijn ruiters, zijn in de zee gekomen, en de HEERE heeft de wateren der zee over hen doen wederkeren; maar de kinderen Israels zijn op het droge in het midden van de zee gegaan. 20En Mirjam, de profetes, Aarons zuster, nam een trommel in haar hand; en al de vrouwen gingen uit, haar na, met trommelen en met reien. 21Toen antwoordde Mirjam hunlieden: Zingt den HEERE; want Hij is hogelijk verheven! Hij heeft het paard met zijn ruiter in de zee gestort! 22Hierna deed Mozes de Israelieten voortreizen van de Schelfzee af; en zij trokken uit tot in de woestijn Sur, en zij gingen drie dagen in de woestijn, en vonden geen water. 23Toen kwamen zij te Mara; doch zij konden het water van Mara niet drinken, want het was bitter; daarom werd derzelver naam genoemd Mara. 24Toen murmureerde het volk tegen Mozes, zeggende: Wat zullen wij drinken? 25Hij dan riep tot den HEERE; en de HEERE wees hem een hout, dat wierp hij in dat water; toen werd het water zoet. Aldaar stelde Hij het volk een inzetting en recht, en aldaar verzocht Hij hetzelve, 26En zeide: Is het, dat gij met ernst naar de stem des HEEREN uws Gods horen zult, en doen, wat recht is in Zijn ogen, en uw oren neigt tot Zijn geboden, en houdt al Zijn inzettingen; zo zal Ik geen van de krankheden op u leggen, die Ik op Egypteland gelegd heb; want Ik ben de HEERE, uw Heelmeester! 27Toen kwamen zij te Elim, en daar waren twaalf waterfonteinen, en zeventig palmbomen; en zij legerden zich aldaar aan de wateren.
