1Ấy vậy, các công việc mà Sa-lô-môn làm cho đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va đều xong rồi. Sa-lô-môn đem đến những vật mà Ða-vít, cha người, đã biệt riêng ra thánh, tức là bạc, vàng, và các khí dụng, để vào kho của đền Ðức Chúa Trời. 2Sa-lô-môn bèn nhóm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên, các trưởng của các chi phái, và các trưởng tộc dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, các trưởng của các chi phái, và các trưởng tộc dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, đặng rước hòm giao ước của Ðức Giê-hô-va lên từ thành Ða-vít, là Si-ôn. 3Mọi người Y-sơ-ra-ên đều nhóm lại đến cùng vua nhằm kỳ lễ tháng bảy. 4Các trưởng lão Y-sơ-ra-ên đều đến, và người Lê-vi khiêng hòm đi. 5Những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi đều đem lên cái hòm, hội mạc, và các khí dụng thánh vốn ở trong trại. 6Vua Sa-lô-môn và cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên đã nhóm lại với vua, đều đứng trước hòm, dâng những chiên và bò làm của lễ nhiều, vô số không thể đếm được. 7Những thầy tế lễ đem hòm giao ước của Ðức Giê-hô-va vào nơi dọn cho hòm, tức trong nơi chí thánh của đền, dưới cánh chê-ru-bin. 8Hai chê-ru-bin sè cánh ra trên chỗ hòm, che hòm và đòn khiêng. 9Ðòn khiêng thì dài, nên đầu đòn thấy ló ra ngoài hòm, trước nơi chí thánh; nhưng ở ngoài đền thì chẳng thấy; hòm vẫn ở đó cho đến ngày nay. 10Chẳng có gì trong hòm, trừ ra hai bảng luật pháp mà Môi-se đã để vào tại Hô-rếp, khi Ðức Giê-hô-va lập giao ước với dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, lúc chúng ra khỏi Ê-díp-tô. 11Khi những thầy tế lễ ra khỏi nơi thánh (vì phàm thầy tế lễ ở đó đều đã dọn mình ra thánh sạch, mà chưa giữ theo ban thứ nào), 12và các người ca hát trong dân Lê-vi, tức A-sáp, Hê-nan, Giê-đu-thun, cùng con trai và anh em họ, đương mặc quần áo bằng vải gai mịn, cầm chập chỏa, đờn sắt, và đờn cầm, đều đứng ở phía đông bàn thờ, với một trăm hai mươi thầy tế lễ thổi kèn. 13Xảy khi kẻ thổi kèn và kẻ ca hát đồng thinh hòa nhau như một người, mà khen ngợi cảm tạ Ðức Giê-hô-va, và khi họ trổi tiếng kèn, chập chỏa, nhạc khí lên khen ngợi Ðức Giê-hô-va, rằng: Ngài từ thiện, lòng thương xót Ngài hằng có đời đời, thì đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va bị mây lấp đầy; 14đến đỗi những thầy tế lễ vì mây không thể đứng đó hầu việc được, vì sự vinh hiển của Ðức Giê-hô-va đầy lấp đền của Ðức Chúa Trời.
1Thus all the work that Solomon did for Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God. 2Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion. 3And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month. 4All the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark; 5and they brought up the ark, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; these the priests the Levites brought up. 6King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude. 7The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim. 8For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above. 9The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there it is to this day. 10There was nothing in the ark except the two tables which Moses put at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt. 11When the priests had come out of the holy place, (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions; 12also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets;) 13when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Yahweh; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever!” then the house was filled with a cloud, even Yahweh’s house, 14so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for Yahweh’s glory filled God’s house.

Daarna bracht Salomo de geheiligde dingen van zijn vader David; en het zilver, en het goud, en al de vaten legde hij onder de schatten van het huis Gods. 2Toen vergaderde Salomo de oudsten van Israel, en al de hoofden der stammen, de oversten der vaderen onder de kinderen Israels, te Jeruzalem, om de ark des verbonds des HEEREN op te brengen uit de stad Davids, dewelke is Sion. 3En alle mannen van Israel verzamelden zich tot de koning op het feest, hetwelk was in de zevende maand. 4En al de oudsten van Israel kwamen, en de Levieten namen de ark op. 5En zij brachten de ark, en de tent der samenkomst opwaarts, mitsgaders al de heilige vaten, die in de tent waren; deze brachten de priesters en Levieten opwaarts. 6De koning Salomo nu, en de ganse vergadering van Israel, die bij hem vergaderd waren voor de ark, offerden schapen en runderen, die vanwege de menigte niet konden geteld noch gerekend worden. 7Alzo brachten de priesters de ark des verbonds des HEEREN tot haar plaats, tot de aanspraakplaats van het huis, tot het heilige der heiligen, tot onder de vleugelen der cherubim. 8Want de cherubim spreidden de beide vleugelen over de plaats der ark; en de cherubim overdekten de ark en haar handbomen van boven. 9Daarna schoven zij de handbomen verder uit, dat de hoofden der handbomen gezien werden uit de ark, voor aan de aanspraakplaats, maar buiten niet gezien werden; en zij was daar tot op dezen dag. 10Er was niets in de ark, dan alleen de twee tafelen, die Mozes bij Horeb daarin gedaan had als de HEERE een verbond maakte met de kinderen Israels, toen zij uit Egypte uitgetogen waren. 11En het geschiedde, als de priesters uit het heilige uitgingen; (want al de priesters, die gevonden werden, hadden zich geheiligd, zonder de verdelingen te houden; 12En de Levieten, die zangers waren van hen allen, van Asaf, van Heman, van Jeduthun, en van hun zonen, en van hun broederen, in fijn linnen gekleed, met cimbalen, en met luiten, en harpen, stonden tegen het oosten des altaars, en met hen tot honderd en twintig priesteren toe, trompettende met trompetten.) 13Het geschiedde dan, als zij eenpariglijk trompetten en zongen, om een eenparige stem te laten horen, prijzende en lovende den HEERE; en als zij de stem verhieven met trompetten, en met cimbalen, en andere muzikale instrumenten, en als zij den HEERE prezen, dat Hij goed is, dat Zijn weldadigheid is tot in eeuwigheid; dat het huis met een wolk vervuld werd, namelijk het huis des HEEREN. 14En de priesters konden, vanwege die wolk, niet staan, om te dienen; want de heerlijkheid des HEEREN had het huis Gods vervuld.
