1Si Pablo na alipin ni Jesucristo, na tinawag na maging apostol, ibinukod sa evangelio ng Dios, 2Na kaniyang ipinangako nang una sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang mga propeta sa mga banal na kasulatan, 3Tungkol sa kaniyang Anak, na ipinanganak sa binhi ni David ayon sa laman, 4Na ipinahayag na Anak ng Dios na may kapangyarihan ayon sa espiritu ng kabanalan, sa pamamagitan ng pagkabuhay na maguli ng mga patay, sa makatuwid baga'y si Jesucristo na Panginoon natin, 5Na sa pamamagitan niya'y tinanggap namin ang biyaya at pagkaapostol, sa pagtalima sa pananampalataya sa lahat ng mga bansa, dahil sa kaniyang pangalan; 6Sa mga ito kayo naman, ay tinawag kay Jesucristo: 7Sa lahat ninyong nangasa Roma, mga iniibig ng Dios, tinawag na mangagbanal: Sumainyo nawa ang biyaya at kapayapaang mula sa Dios na ating Ama at Panginoong Jesucristo. 8Kaunaunahan, ay nagpapasalamat ako sa aking Dios sa pamamagitan ni Jesucristo tungkol sa inyong lahat, na ang inyong pananampalataya ay bantog sa buong sanglibutan. 9Sapagka't ang Dios ang aking saksi, na siyang pinaglilingkuran ko sa aking espiritu sa evangelio ng kaniyang Anak, na walang patid na aking kayong binabanggit, sa aking mga panalangin, 10At laging isinasamo ko, kung ngayon sa wakas sa anomang paraan ay magkapalad ako sa kalooban ng Dios na makarating sa inyo. 11Sapagka't ninanasa kong makita kayo, upang ako'y makapamahagi sa inyo ng kaloob na ukol sa espiritu, upang kayo'y mangagsitibay; 12Sa makatuwid baga, upang ako't kayo ay maaliw sa inyo, ang bawa't isa sa atin sa pananampalataya ng iba, ang sa inyo at sa akin. 13At hindi ko ibig, mga kapatid, na hindi ninyo matalastas na madalas kong inaakalang makarating sa inyo (datapuwa't hanggang ngayon ako'y nahahadlangan), upang magkaroon naman ako sa inyo ng anomang bunga, na gaya sa mga ibang Gentil. 14Ako'y may utang sa mga Griego at gayon din naman sa mga barbaro, sa marurunong at gayon din sa mga mangmang. 15Kaya nga, sa ganang akin, ay handa akong ipangaral din ang evangelio sa inyong nangasa Roma. 16Sapagka't hindi ko ikinahihiya ang evangelio: sapagka't siyang kapangyarihan ng Dios sa ikaliligtas ng bawa't sumasampalataya; una'y sa Judio, at gayon din sa Griego. 17Sapagka't dito ang katuwiran ng Dios ay nahahayag mula sa pananampalataya hanggang sa pananampalataya: gaya ng nasusulat, Nguni't ang ganap ay mabubuhay sa pamamagitan ng pananampalataya. 18Sapagka't ang poot ng Dios ay nahahayag mula sa langit laban sa lahat na kasamaan at kalikuan ng mga tao, na mga sinasawata ang katotohanan ng kalikuan; 19Sapagka't ang nakikilala tungkol sa Dios ay hayag sa kanila; sapagka't ito'y ipinahayag ng Dios sa kanila. 20Sapagka't ang mga bagay niyang hindi nakikita buhat pa nang lalangin ang sanglibutan ay nakikitang maliwanag, sa pagkatanto sa pamamagitan ng mga bagay na ginawa niya, maging ang walang hanggan niyang kapangyarihan at pagka Dios; upang sila'y walang madahilan: 21Sapagka't kahit kilala nila ang Dios, siya'y hindi niluwalhati nilang tulad sa Dios, ni pinasalamatan; kundi bagkus niwalang kabuluhan sa kanilang mga pagmamatuwid at ang mangmang nilang puso ay pinapagdilim. 22Ang mga nangagmamarunong ay naging mga mangmang, 23At pinalitan nila ang kaluwalhatian ng Dios na hindi nasisira, ng isang katulad ng larawan ng tao na nasisira, at ng mga ibon, at ng mga hayop na may apat na paa, at ng mga nagsisigapang. 24Dahil dito'y sa karumihan ng mga pita ng kanilang mga puso ay ibinigay sila ng Dios sa kahalayan, upang alisan nila ng puri ang kanilang mga katawan sa kanikanilang sarili: 25Sapagka't pinalitan nila ang katotohanan ng Dios ng kasinungalingan, at sila'y nagsisamba at nangaglingkod sa nilalang kay sa Lumalang, na siyang pinupuri magpakailan man. Siya nawa. 26Dahil dito'y ibinigay sila ng Dios sa mga mahahalay na pita: sapagka't pinalitan ng kanilang mga babae ang katutubong kagamitan niyaong nalalaban sa katutubo: 27At gayon din naman ang mga lalake, na nang iwan na ang katutubong kagamitan sa mga babae, ay nangagningas sa kanilang karumihan ng pita ang isa't isa, na gumagawa ng kahalayan ang mga lalake sa mga kapuwa lalake, at tumatanggap sa kanilang sarili ng kagantihan ng kanilang pagkakamali. 28At palibhasa'y hindi nila minagaling na kilalanin ang Dios, ibinigay sila ng Dios sa isang mahalay na pagiisip, upang gawin yaong mga bagay na hindi nangararapat; 29Nangapuspus sila ng buong kalikuan, ng kasamaan, ng kasakiman, ng kahalayan; puspos ng kapanaghilian, ng pagpatay sa kapuwa tao, ng pagtatalo, ng pagdaraya, ng mga kasamaan; mga mapagupasala, 30Mga mapanirang puri, mga napopoot sa Dios, mga manglalait, mga palalo, mga mapagmapuri, mga mangangatha ng mga kasamaan, mga masuwayin sa mga magulang, 31Mga haling, mga hindi tapat sa tipanan, mga walang katutubong paggiliw, mga walang habag: 32Na, bagama't nalalaman nila ang kautusan ng Dios, na ang mga nagsisigawa ng gayong mga bagay ay mga karapatdapat sa kamatayan, ay hindi lamang gayon ang ginagawa, kundi naman pinapayagan ang mga nagsisigawa ng mga yaon.
1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God, 2which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, 5through whom we received grace and apostleship, for obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name’s sake; 6among whom you are also called to belong to Jesus Christ; 7to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world. 9For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers, 10requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you. 11For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; 12that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. 13Now I don’t desire to have you unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles. 14I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish. 15So, as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome. 16For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. 17For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.” 18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. 20For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse. 21Because, knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. 24Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves, 25who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. 27Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. 28Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers, 30backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
1Paulus, een dienstknecht van Jezus Christus, een geroepen apostel, afgezonderd tot het Evangelie van God, 2(Hetwelk Hij te voren beloofd had door Zijn profeten, in de heilige Schriften) 3Van Zijn Zoon,, Die geworden is uit het zaad van David, naar het vlees; 4Die krachtelijk bewezen is te zijn de Zoon van God, naar den Geest der heiligmaking, uit de opstanding der doden) namelijk Jezus Christus, onzen Heere: 5(Door Welken wij hebben ontvangen genade en het apostelschap, tot gehoorzaamheid des geloofs onder al de heidenen, voor Zijn Naam; 6Onder welken gij ook zijt, geroepenen van Jezus Christus!) 7Allen, die te Rome zijt, geliefden Gods, en geroepen heiligen, genade zij u, en vrede van God, onzen Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 8Eerstelijk dank ik mijn God door Jezus Christus over u allen, dat uw geloof verkondigd wordt in de gehele wereld. 9Want God is mijn Getuige, Welken ik diene in mijn geest, in het Evangelie Zijns Zoons, hoe ik zonder nalaten uwer gedenke; 10Allen tijd in mijn gebeden biddende, of mogelijk mij nog te eniger tijd goede gelegenheid gegeven werd, door den wil van God, om tot ulieden te komen. 11Want ik verlang om u te zien, opdat ik u enige geestelijke gave mocht mededelen, ten einde gij versterkt zoudt worden; 12Dat is, om mede vertroost te worden onder u, door het onderlinge geloof, zo het uwe als het mijne. 13Doch ik wil niet, dat u onbekend zij, broeders, dat ik menigmaal voorgenomen heb tot u te komen (en ben tot nog toe verhinderd geweest), opdat ik ook onder u enige vrucht zou hebben, gelijk als ook onder de andere heidenen. 14Beiden Grieken en Barbaren, beiden wijzen en onwijzen ben ik een schuldenaar. 15Alzo hetgeen in mij is, dat is volvaardig, om u ook, die te Rome zijt, het Evangelie te verkondigen. 16Want ik schaam mij des Evangelies van Christus niet; want het is een kracht Gods tot zaligheid een iegelijk, die gelooft, eerst den Jood, en ook den Griek. 17Want de rechtvaardigheid Gods wordt in hetzelve geopenbaard uit geloof tot geloof; gelijk geschreven is: Maar de rechtvaardige zal uit het geloof leven. 18Want de toorn Gods wordt geopenbaard van den hemel over alle goddeloosheid, en ongerechtigheid der mensen, als die de waarheid in ongerechtigheid ten onder houden. 19Overmits hetgeen van God kennelijk is, in hen openbaar is; want God heeft het hun geopenbaard. 20Want Zijn onzienlijke dingen worden, van de schepping der wereld aan, uit de schepselen verstaan en doorzien, beide Zijn eeuwige kracht en Goddelijkheid, opdat zij niet te verontschuldigen zouden zijn. 21Omdat zij, God kennende, Hem als God niet hebben verheerlijkt of gedankt; maar zijn verijdeld geworden in hun overleggingen en hun onverstandig hart is verduisterd geworden; 22Zich uitgevende voor wijzen, zijn zij dwaas geworden; 23En hebben de heerlijkheid des onverderfelijken Gods veranderd in de gelijkenis eens beelds van een verderfelijk mens, en van gevogelte, en van viervoetige en kruipende gedierten. 24Daarom heeft God hen ook overgegeven in de begeerlijkheden hunner harten tot onreinigheid, om hun lichamen onder elkander te onteren; 25Als die de waarheid Gods veranderd hebben in de leugen, en het schepsel geeerd en gediend hebben boven den Schepper, Die te prijzen is in der eeuwigheid, amen. 26Daarom heeft God hen overgegeven tot oneerlijke bewegingen; want ook hun vrouwen hebben het natuurlijk gebruik veranderd in het gebruik tegen nature; 27En insgelijks ook de mannen, nalatende het natuurlijk gebruik der vrouw, zijn verhit geworden in hun lust tegen elkander, mannen met mannen schandelijkheid bedrijvende, en de vergelding van hun dwaling, die daartoe behoorde, in zichzelven ontvangende. 28En gelijk het hun niet goed gedacht heeft God in erkentenis te houden, zo heeft God hen overgegeven in een verkeerden zin, om te doen dingen, die niet betamen; 29Vervuld zijnde met alle ongerechtigheid, hoererij, boosheid, gierigheid, kwaadheid, vol van nijdigheid, moord, twist, bedrog, kwaadaardigheid; 30Oorblazers, achterklappers, haters Gods, smaders, hovaardigen, laatdunkenden, vinders van kwade dingen, den ouderen ongehoorzaam; 31Onverstandigen, verbondbrekers, zonder natuurlijke liefde, onverzoenlijken, onbarmhartigen; 32Dewelken, daar zij het recht Gods weten,, namelijk, dat degenen, die zulke dingen doen, des doods waardig zijn) niet alleen dezelve doen, maar ook mede een welgevallen hebben in degenen, die ze doen.
