1Ngayon nga'y wala nang anomang hatol sa mga na kay Cristo Jesus. 2Sapagka't ang kautusan ng Espiritu ng buhay na kay Cristo Jesus ay pinalaya ako sa kautusan ng kasalanan at ng kamatayan. 3Sapagka't ang hindi magawa ng kautusan, na mahina sa pamamagitan ng laman, sa pagsusugo ng Dios sa kaniyang sariling Anak na naganyong lamang salarin at dahil sa kasalanan, ay hinatulan ng Dios sa laman ang kasalanan: 4Upang ang kahilingan ng kautusan ay matupad sa atin, na hindi nangagsisilakad ayon sa laman, kundi ayon sa Espiritu. 5Sapagka't ang mga ayon sa laman ay nangagsisitalima sa mga bagay ng laman; datapuwa't ang mga ayon sa Espiritu ay sa mga bagay ng Espiritu. 6Sapagka't ang kaisipan ng laman ay kamatayan; datapuwa't ang kaisipan ng Espiritu ay buhay at kapayapaan. 7Sapagka't ang kaisipan ng laman ay pakikipagalit laban sa Dios; sapagka't hindi napasasaklaw sa kautusan ng Dios, ni hindi nga maaari: 8At ang nangasa laman ay hindi makalulugod sa Dios. 9Datapuwa't kayo'y wala sa laman kundi nasa sa Espiritu, kung gayo'y tumitira sa inyo ang Espiritu ng Dios. Datapuwa't kung ang sinoma'y walang Espiritu ni Cristo, siya'y hindi sa kaniya. 10At kung si Cristo ay nasa sa inyo, ang katawan ay patay dahil sa kasalanan; datapuwa't ang espiritu ay buhay dahil sa katuwiran. 11Nguni't kung ang Espiritu niyaong bumuhay na maguli kay Jesus ay tumira sa inyo, ang bumuhay na maguli kay Cristo Jesus sa mga patay ay magbibigay buhay naman sa inyong mga katawang may kamatayan, sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang Espiritu na tumitira sa inyo. 12Kaya nga, mga kapatid, mga may utang tayo, hindi sa laman, upang mabuhay ayon sa laman: 13Sapagka't kung mangabuhay kayo ng ayon sa laman, ay mangamamatay kayo; datapuwa't kung sa pamamagitan ng Espiritu ay pinapatay ninyo ang mga gawa ng laman, ay mangabubuhay kayo. 14Sapagka't ang lahat ng mga pinapatnubayan ng Espiritu ng Dios, ay sila ang mga anak ng Dios. 15Sapagka't hindi ninyo muling tinanggap ang espiritu ng pagkaalipin sa ikatatakot; datapuwa't tinanggap ninyo ang espiritu ng pagkukupkop, na dahil dito'y sumisigaw tayo, Abba, Ama. 16Ang Espiritu rin ang nagpapatotoo kasama ng ating espiritu, na tayo'y mga anak ng Dios: 17At kung mga anak, ay mga tagapagmana nga; mga tagapagmana sa Dios, at mga kasamang tagapagmana ni Cristo; kung gayon nga makipagtiis tayo sa kaniya, upang tayo'y lumuwalhati namang kasama niya. 18Sapagka't napatutunayan ko na ang pagtitiis sa panahong ito'y hindi karapatdapat maitumbas sa kaluwalhatiang mahahayag sa atin. 19Sapagka't ang maningas na pagmimithi ng buong nilalang ay naghihintay ng pagkahayag ng mga anak ng Dios. 20Sapagka't ang buong nilalang ay nasakop ng kawalang kabuluhan, hindi sa kaniyang kalooban, kundi dahil doon sa sumakop sa kaniya, sa pagasa 21Na ang buong nilalang naman ay magiging laya mula sa pagkaalipin ng kabulukan sa kalayaang maluwalhati ng mga anak ng Dios. 22Sapagka't nalalaman natin na ang buong nilalang ay humihibik at nagdaramdam na may kahirapan na kasama natin hanggang ngayon. 23At hindi lamang gayon, kundi pati naman tayo na mayroong mga pangunahing bunga ng Espiritu, sa makatuwid baga'y tayo nama'y nangagsisihibik din sa ating sarili, sa paghihintay ng pagkukupkop, na dili iba't, ang pagtubos sa ating katawan. 24Sapagka't tayo'y iniligtas sa pagasa: datapuwa't ang pagasa na nakikita ay hindi pagasa: kaya't sino nga ang umaasa sa nakikita? 25Datapuwa't kung nagsisiasa tayo sa hindi natin nakikita, kung magkagayo'y hinihintay nating may pagtitiis. 26At gayon din naman ang Espiritu ay tumutulong sa ating kahinaan: sapagka't hindi tayo marunong manalangin ng nararapat; nguni't ang Espiritu rin ang namamagitan dahil sa atin ng mga hibik na hindi maisasaysay sa pananalita; 27At ang nakasisiyasat ng mga puso'y nakakaalam kung ano ang kaisipan ng Espiritu, sapagka't siya ang namamagitan dahil sa mga banal alinsunod sa kalooban ng Dios. 28At nalalaman natin na ang lahat ng mga bagay ay nagkakalakip na gumagawa sa ikabubuti ng mga nagsisiibig sa Dios, sa makatuwid baga'y niyaong mga tinawag alinsunod sa kaniyang nasa. 29Sapagka't yaong mga nang una pa'y kaniyang nakilala, ay itinalaga naman niya na maging katulad ng larawan ng kaniyang Anak, upang siya ang maging panganay sa maraming magkakapatid: 30At yaong mga itinalaga niya, ay kaniyang tinawag naman: at ang mga tinawag ay inaring-ganap naman niya: at ang mga inaring-ganap ay niluwalhati din naman niya. 31Ano ang ating sasabihin sa mga bagay na ito? Kung ang Dios ay kakampi natin, sino ang laban sa atin? 32Siya, na hindi ipinagkait ang kaniyang sariling anak kundi ibinigay dahil sa ating lahat, bakit hindi naman ibibigay sa atin ng walang bayad ang lahat ng mga bagay? 33Sino ang magsasakdal ng anoman laban sa mga hirang ng Dios? Ang Dios ay ang umaaring-ganap; 34Sino ang hahatol? Si Cristo Jesus na namatay, oo, yaong nabuhay na maguli sa mga patay na siyang nasa kanan ng Dios, na siya namang namamagitan dahil sa atin. 35Sino ang maghihiwalay sa atin sa pagibig ni Cristo? ang kapighatian, o ang kahapisan, o ang paguusig, o ang kagutum, o ang kahubaran, o ang panganib, o ang tabak? 36Gaya ng nasusulat, Dahil sa iyo kami'y pinapatay sa buong araw; Kami ay nabilang na parang mga tupa sa patayan. 37Hindi, kundi sa lahat ng mga bagay na ito tayo'y higit pa sa mga mapagtagumpay sa pamamagitan niyaong sa atin ay umibig. 38Sapagka't ako'y naniniwalang lubos, na kahit ang kamatayan man, kahit ang buhay, kahit ang mga anghel, kahit ang mga pamunuan, kahit ang mga bagay na kasalukuyan, kahit ang mga bagay na darating, kahit ang mga kapangyarihan, 39Kahit ang kataasan, kahit ang kababaan, kahit ang alin mang ibang nilalang, ay hindi makapaghihiwalay sa atin sa pagibig ng Dios, na nasa kay Cristo Jesus na Panginoon natin.
1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 7because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. 9But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 10If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 15For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; 17and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. 18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us. 19For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. 23Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body. 24For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? 25But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience. 26In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. 27He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. 28We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. 31What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1Zo is er dan nu geen verdoemenis voor degenen, die in Christus Jezus zijn, die niet naar het vlees wandelen, maar naar den Geest. 2Want de wet des Geestes des levens in Christus Jezus heeft mij vrijgemaakt van de wet der zonde en des doods. 3Want hetgeen der wet onmogelijk was, dewijl zij door het vlees krachteloos was, heeft God, Zijn Zoon zendende in gelijkheid des zondigen vleses, en dat voor de zonde, de zonde veroordeeld in het vlees. 4Opdat het recht der wet vervuld zou worden in ons, die niet naar het vlees wandelen, maar naar den Geest. 5Want die naar het vlees zijn, bedenken, dat des vleses is; maar die naar den Geest zijn, bedenken, dat des Geestes is. 6Want het bedenken des vleses is de dood; maar het bedenken des Geestes is het leven en vrede; 7Daarom dat het bedenken des vleses vijandschap is tegen God; want het onderwerpt zich der wet Gods niet; want het kan ook niet. 8En die in het vlees zijn, kunnen Gode niet behagen. 9Doch gijlieden zijt niet in het vlees, maar in den Geest, zo anders de Geest Gods in u woont. Maar zo iemand den Geest van Christus niet heeft, die komt Hem niet toe. 10En indien Christus in ulieden is, zo is wel het lichaam dood om der zonden wil; maar de geest is leven om der gerechtigheid wil. 11En indien de Geest Desgenen, Die Jezus uit de doden opgewekt heeft, in u woont, zo zal Hij, Die Christus uit de doden opgewekt heeft, ook uw sterfelijke lichamen levend maken, door Zijn Geest, Die in u woont. 12Zo dan, broeders, wij zijn schuldenaars niet aan het vlees, om naar het vlees te leven. 13Want indien gij naar het vlees leeft, zo zult gij sterven; maar indien gij door den Geest de werkingen des lichaams doodt, zo zult gij leven. 14Want zovelen als er door den Geest Gods geleid worden, die zijn kinderen Gods. 15Want gij hebt niet ontvangen den Geest der dienstbaarheid wederom tot vreze; maar gij hebt ontvangen den Geest der aanneming tot kinderen, door Welken wij roepen: Abba, Vader! 16Dezelve Geest getuigt met onzen geest, dat wij kinderen Gods zijn. 17En indien wij kinderen zijn, zo zijn wij ook erfgenamen, erfgenamen van God, en medeerfgenamen van Christus; zo wij anders met Hem lijden, opdat wij ook met Hem verheerlijkt worden. 18Want ik houde het daarvoor, dat het lijden dezes tegenwoordigen tijds niet is te waarderen tegen de heerlijkheid, die aan ons zal geopenbaard worden. 19Want het schepsel, als met opgestoken hoofde, verwacht de openbaring der kinderen Gods. 20Want het schepsel is der ijdelheid onderworpen, niet gewillig, maar om diens wil, die het der ijdelheid onderworpen heeft; 21Op hoop, dat ook het schepsel zelf zal vrijgemaakt worden van de dienstbaarheid der verderfenis, tot de vrijheid der heerlijkheid der kinderen Gods. 22Want wij weten, dat het ganse schepsel te zamen zucht, en te zamen als in barensnood is tot nu toe. 23En niet alleen dit, maar ook wij zelven, die de eerstelingen des Geestes hebben, wij ook zelven, zeg ik, zuchten in onszelven, verwachtende de aanneming tot kinderen, namelijk de verlossing onzes lichaams. 24Want wij zijn in hope zalig geworden. De hoop nu, die gezien wordt, is geen hoop; want hetgeen iemand ziet, waarom zal hij het ook hopen? 25Maar indien wij hopen, hetgeen wij niet zien, zo verwachten wij het met lijdzaamheid. 26En desgelijks komt ook de Geest onze zwakheden mede te hulp; want wij weten niet, wat wij bidden zullen, gelijk het behoort, maar de Geest Zelf bidt voor ons met onuitsprekelijke zuchtingen. 27En Die de harten doorzoekt, weet, welke de mening des Geestes zij, dewijl Hij naar God voor de heiligen bidt. 28En wij weten, dat dengenen, die God liefhebben, alle dingen medewerken ten goede, namelijk dengenen, die naar Zijn voornemen geroepen zijn. 29Want die Hij te voren gekend heeft, die heeft Hij ook te voren verordineerd, den beelde Zijns Zoons gelijkvormig te zijn, opdat Hij de Eerstgeborene zij onder vele broederen. 30En die Hij te voren verordineerd heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook geroepen; en die Hij geroepen heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook gerechtvaardigd; en die Hij gerechtvaardigd heeft, dezen heeft Hij ook verheerlijkt. 31Wat zullen wij dan tot deze dingen zeggen? Zo God voor ons is, wie zal tegen ons zijn? 32Die ook Zijn eigen Zoon niet gespaard heeft, maar heeft Hem voor ons allen overgegeven, hoe zal Hij ons ook met Hem niet alle dingen schenken? 33Wie zal beschuldiging inbrengen tegen de uitverkorenen Gods? God is het, Die rechtvaardig maakt. 34Wie is het, die verdoemt? Christus is het, Die gestorven is; ja, wat meer is, Die ook opgewekt is, Die ook ter rechter hand Gods is, Die ook voor ons bidt. 35Wie zal ons scheiden van de liefde van Christus? Verdrukking, of benauwdheid, of vervolging, of honger, naaktheid, of gevaar, of zwaard? 36(Gelijk geschreven is: Want om Uwentwil worden wij den gansen dag gedood; wij zijn geacht als schapen ter slachting.) 37Maar in dit alles zijn wij meer dan overwinnaars, door Hem, Die ons liefgehad heeft. 38Want ik ben verzekerd, dat noch dood, noch leven, noch engelen, noch overheden, noch machten, noch tegenwoordige, noch toekomende dingen, 39Noch hoogte, noch diepte, noch enig ander schepsel ons zal kunnen scheiden van de liefde Gods, welke is in Christus Jezus, onzen Heere.
