1Ndipo nikapewa mwanzi uliokuwa kama ufito wa kupimia, nikaambiwa, “Nenda ukapime hekalu la Mungu pamoja na madhabahu, nawe uwahesabu wale waabuduo humo. 2Lakini usiupime ua wa nje wa Hekalu, uache, kwa sababu ua huo wamepewa watu wa Mataifa. Hao wataukanyagakanyaga mji mtakatifu kwa muda wa miezi arobaini na miwili. 3Nami nitawapa mashahidi wangu wawili uwezo, nao watoe unabii kwa muda wa siku 1,260, wakiwa wamevaa nguo za gunia.” 4Hawa ndio ile mizeituni miwili na vile vinara viwili vya taa visimamavyo mbele za Bwana Mungu wa dunia yote. 5Kama mtu yeyote akitaka kuwadhuru, moto hutoka vinywani mwao na kuwateketeza adui zao. Hivi ndivyo impasavyo kufa mtu yeyote atakayetaka kuwadhuru. 6Watu hawa wanao uwezo wa kufunga anga ili mvua isinyeshe wakati wote watakapokuwa wanatoa unabii wao. Nao watakuwa na uwezo wa kuyabadili maji kuwa damu na kuipiga dunia kwa kila aina ya mapigo mara kwa mara kama watakavyo. 7Basi watakapokuwa wamemaliza ushuhuda wao, yule mnyama atokaye katika lile Shimo atapigana nao vita, atawashinda na kuwaua. 8Maiti zao zitabaki katika barabara ya mji mkubwa, ambao kwa fumbo unaitwa Sodoma na Misri, ambapo pia Bwana wao alisulubiwa. 9Kwa muda wa siku tatu na nusu, watu wa kila kabila, jamaa, lugha na taifa wataziangalia hizo maiti zao na hawataruhusu wazikwe. 10Watu waishio duniani watazitazama kwa furaha maiti za hao manabii wawili na kushangilia kwa kupeana zawadi kwa sababu hao manabii waliwatesa watu waishio duniani. 11Lakini baada ya zile siku tatu na nusu, pumzi ya uhai kutoka kwa Mungu ikawaingia, nao wakasimama kwa miguu yao na wote waliowaona wakaingiwa na hofu kuu. 12Kisha wale manabii wawili wakasikia sauti kuu kutoka mbinguni ikiwaambia, “Njooni huku juu!” Nao wakapaa mbinguni katika wingu, wakati adui zao wakiwa wanawatazama. 13Saa iyo hiyo, kukatokea tetemeko kubwa la nchi na sehemu ya kumi ya mji ikaanguka. Watu elfu saba wakauawa katika tetemeko hilo, nao walionusurika wakaogopa sana, wakamtukuza Mungu wa mbinguni. 14Ole ya pili imekwisha kupita, tazama ole ya tatu inakuja upesi. 15Yule malaika wa saba akaipiga tarumbeta yake, pakawa na sauti kubwa mbinguni iliyosema: “Ufalme wa ulimwengu umekuwa ufalme wa Bwana wetu na wa Kristo wake, naye atatawala milele na milele.” 16Nao wale wazee ishirini na wanne, waliokuwa wameketi mbele za Mungu, kwenye viti vyao vya enzi, wakaanguka kifudifudi, wakamwabudu Mungu, 17wakisema: “Tunakushukuru, Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi, uliyeko na uliyekuwako, kwa kuwa umetwaa uweza wako mkuu na ukaanza kutawala. 18Mataifa walikasirika nao wakati wa ghadhabu yako umewadia. Wakati umewadia wa kuwahukumu waliokufa na kuwapa thawabu watumishi wako manabii na watakatifu wako pamoja na wale wote wanaoliheshimu Jina lako, wakubwa kwa wadogo: na kuwaangamiza wale wanaoiangamiza dunia.” 19Ndipo hekalu la Mungu lililoko mbinguni likafunguliwa, na sanduku la agano lake likaonekana humo ndani. Kukatokea mianga ya umeme wa radi, ngurumo, sauti za radi, tetemeko la nchi na mvua kubwa ya mawe.

1A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. 2Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. 3I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands, standing before the Lord of the earth. 5If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. 6These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. 7When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. 8Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 10Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. 11After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them. 12I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them. 13In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly. 15The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!” 16The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned. 18The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.” 19God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

1En mij werd een rietstok gegeven, een meetroede gelijk; en de engel stond en zeide: Sta op, en meet den tempel Gods en het altaar, en degenen, die daarin aanbidden. 2En laat het voorhof uit, dat van buiten den tempel is, en meet dat niet, want het is den heidenen gegeven; en zij zullen de heilige stad vertreden twee en veertig maanden. 3En Ik zal Mijn twee getuigen macht geven, en zij zullen profeteren duizend tweehonderd zestig dagen, met zakken bekleed. 4Dezen zijn de twee olijfbomen, en de twee kandelaren, die voor den God der aarde staan. 5En zo iemand die wil beschadigen, een vuur zal uit hun mond uitgaan, en zal hun vijanden verslinden; en zo iemand hen wil beschadigen, die moet alzo gedood worden. 6Dezen hebben macht den hemel te sluiten, opdat geen regen regene in de dagen hunner profetering; en zij hebben macht over de wateren, om die in bloed te verkeren, en de aarde te slaan met allerlei plage, zo menigmaal als zij zullen willen; 7En als zij hun getuigenis zullen geeindigd hebben, zal het beest, dat uit den afgrond opkomt, hun krijg aandoen, en het zal hen overwinnen, en zal hen doden. 8En hun dode lichamen zullen liggen op de straat der grote stad, die geestelijk genoemd wordt Sodoma en Egypte, alwaar ook onze Heere gekruist is. 9En de mensen uit de volken, en geslachten, en talen, en natien, zullen hun dode lichamen zien drie dagen en een halven, en zullen niet toelaten, dat hun dode lichamen in graven gelegd worden. 10En die op de aarde wonen, die zullen verblijd zijn over hen, en zullen vreugde bedrijven, en zullen elkander geschenken zenden; omdat deze twee profeten degenen, die op de aarde wonen, gepijnigd hadden. 11En na die drie dagen en een halven, is een geest des levens uit God in hen gegaan; en zij stonden op hun voeten; en er is grote vrees gevallen op degenen, die hen aanschouwden. 12En zij hoorden een grote stem uit den hemel, die tot hen zeide: Komt herwaarts op. En zij voeren op naar den hemel in de wolk; en hun vijanden aanschouwden hen. 13En in diezelfde ure geschiedde een grote aardbeving, en het tiende deel der stad is gevallen, en er zijn in de aardbeving gedood zeven duizend namen van mensen, en de overigen zijn zeer bevreesd geworden, en hebben den God des hemels heerlijkheid gegeven. 14Het tweede wee is weggegaan; ziet, het derde wee komt haast. 15En de zevende engel heeft gebazuind, en er geschiedden grote stemmen in den hemel, zeggende: De koninkrijken der wereld zijn geworden onzes Heeren en van Zijn Christus, en Hij zal als Koning heersen in alle eeuwigheid. 16En de vier en twintig ouderlingen, die voor God zitten op hun tronen, vielen neder op hun aangezichten, en aanbaden God, 17Zeggende: Wij danken U, Heere God almachtig, Die is, en Die was, en Die komen zal, dat Gij Uw grote kracht hebt aangenomen, en als Koning hebt geheerst; 18En de volken waren toornig geworden, en Uw toorn is gekomen, en de tijd der doden, om geoordeeld te worden, en om het loon te geven Uw dienstknechten, den profeten, en den heiligen, en dengenen, die Uw Naam vrezen, den kleinen en den groten; en om te verderven degenen, die de aarde verdierven. 19En de tempel Gods in de hemel is geopend geworden, en de ark Zijns verbonds is gezien in Zijn tempel; en er werden bliksemen, en stemmen, en donderslagen, en aardbeving, en grote hagel.
