Mathayo 24

1Yesu akatoka Hekaluni na alipokuwa akienda zake, wanafunzi wake wakamwendea ili kumwonyesha majengo ya Hekalu. 2Ndipo Yesu akawauliza, “Je, mnayaona haya yote? Amin, nawaambia, hakuna hata jiwe moja hapa litakalobaki juu ya jingine, bali kila moja litabomolewa.” 3Yesu alipokuwa ameketi kwenye Mlima wa Mizeituni, wanafunzi wake wakamjia faraghani, wakamuuliza, “Tuambie, mambo haya yatatukia lini, nayo dalili ya kuja kwako na ya mwisho wa dunia ni gani?” 4Yesu akawajibu, “Jihadharini, mtu yeyote asiwadanganye. 5Kwa maana wengi watakuja kwa Jina langu, wakidai, ‘Mimi ndiye Kristo,’ nao watawadanganya wengi. 6Mtasikia habari za vita na matetesi ya vita. Angalieni msitishike, kwa maana haya hayana budi kutukia. Lakini ule mwisho bado. 7Taifa litainuka dhidi ya taifa, na ufalme dhidi ya ufalme. Kutakuwa na njaa na mitetemeko ya ardhi sehemu mbalimbali. 8Haya yote yatakuwa ndio mwanzo wa utungu. 9“Ndipo mtasalitiwa, ili mteswe na kuuawa, nanyi mtachukiwa na mataifa yote kwa ajili yangu. 10Wakati huo, wengi wataacha imani yao, nao watasalitiana kila mmoja na mwenzake na kuchukiana. 11Watatokea manabii wengi wa uongo, nao watawadanganya watu wengi. 12Kwa sababu ya kuongezeka kwa uovu upendo wa watu wengi utapoa, 13lakini yule atakayevumilia hadi mwisho ataokolewa. 14Injili ya Ufalme itahubiriwa ulimwenguni kote kuwa ushuhuda kwa mataifa yote. Ndipo mwisho utakapokuja. 15“Hivyo mtakapoona lile ‘chukizo la uharibifu’ lililonenwa na nabii Danieli limesimama mahali patakatifu (asomaye na afahamu), 16basi wale walioko Uyahudi wakimbilie milimani. 17Yeyote aliye juu ya dari ya nyumba asishuke ili kuchukua chochote kutoka ndani ya nyumba. 18Aliye shambani asirudi nyumbani kuchukua vazi lake. 19Ole wao wenye mimba na wale wanaonyonyesha watoto siku hizo! 20Ombeni ili kukimbia kwenu kusiwe wakati wa baridi au siku ya Sabato. 21Kwa maana wakati huo kutakuwa na dhiki kuu ambayo haijapata kuwako tangu mwanzo wa dunia mpaka sasa: wala haitakuwako tena kamwe. 22Kama siku hizo zisingefupishwa, hakuna hata mtu mmoja ambaye angeokoka. Lakini kwa ajili ya wateule, siku hizo zitafupizwa. 23Wakati huo kama mtu yeyote akiwaambia, ‘Tazama, Kristo huyu hapa!’ Au, ‘Kristo yuko kule,’ msisadiki. 24Kwa maana watatokea makristo wa uongo na manabii wa uongo, nao watafanya ishara kubwa na maajabu mengi ili kuwapotosha, ikiwezekana, hata wale wateule hasa. 25Angalieni, nimekwisha kuwaambia mapema. 26“Kwa hiyo mtu yeyote akiwaambia, ‘Yule kule nyikani,’ msiende huko. Au akisema, ‘Yuko kwenye chumba,’ msisadiki. 27Kwa maana kama vile umeme utokeavyo mashariki na kuonekana hata magharibi, ndivyo itakavyokuwa kuja kwake Mwana wa Adamu. 28Kwa maana popote ulipo mzoga, huko ndiko wakusanyikapo tai. 29“Mara baada ya dhiki ya siku zile, “‘jua litatiwa giza, nao mwezi hautatoa nuru yake; nazo nyota zitaanguka kutoka angani, na nguvu za anga zitatikisika.’ 30“Ndipo itakapotokea ishara ya Mwana wa Adamu angani, na makabila yote ya dunia yataomboleza. Nao watamwona Mwana wa Adamu akija juu ya mawingu ya angani, katika uwezo na utukufu mkuu. 31Naye atawatuma malaika zake kwa sauti kuu ya tarumbeta, nao watawakusanya wateule wake kutoka pande zote nne za dunia, kutoka mwisho mmoja wa mbingu hadi mwisho mwingine. 32“Basi jifunzeni somo hili kutokana na mtini: Matawi yake yanapoanza kuchipua na kutoa majani, mnatambua kwamba wakati wa kiangazi umekaribia. 33Vivyo hivyo, myaonapo mambo haya yote, mnatambua kwamba wakati u karibu, hata malangoni. 34Amin, nawaambia, kizazi hiki hakitapita hadi mambo haya yote yawe yametimia. 35Mbingu na nchi zitapita, lakini maneno yangu hayatapita kamwe. 36“Kwa habari ya siku ile na saa, hakuna ajuaye, hata malaika walio mbinguni wala Mwana, ila Baba peke yake. 37Kama ilivyokuwa wakati wa Noa, ndivyo itakavyokuwa kuja kwake Mwana wa Adamu. 38Kwa maana siku zile kabla ya gharika, watu walikuwa wakila na kunywa, wakioa na kuolewa, mpaka siku ile Noa alipoingia katika safina. 39Nao hawakujua lolote mpaka gharika ilipokuja ikawakumba wote. Hivyo ndivyo itakavyokuwa atakapokuja Mwana wa Adamu. 40Watu wawili watakuwa shambani, naye mmoja atatwaliwa na mwingine ataachwa. 41Wanawake wawili watakuwa wanasaga pamoja, naye mmoja atatwaliwa na mwingine ataachwa. 42“Basi kesheni, kwa sababu hamjui ni siku gani atakapokuja Bwana wenu. 43Lakini fahamuni jambo hili: Kama mwenye nyumba angejua ni wakati gani wa usiku ambao mwizi atakuja, angekesha na hangekubali nyumba yake kuvunjwa. 44Kwa hiyo ninyi pia hamna budi kuwa tayari, kwa sababu Mwana wa Adamu atakuja saa msiyotazamia. 45“Ni nani basi aliye mtumishi mwaminifu na mwenye busara, ambaye bwana wake amemweka kusimamia watumishi wengine katika nyumba yake, ili awape chakula chao kwa wakati unaofaa? 46Heri mtumishi yule ambaye bwana wake atakaporudi atamkuta akifanya hivyo. 47Amin, nawaambia, atamweka mtumishi huyo kuwa msimamizi wa mali yake yote. 48Lakini kama huyo mtumishi ni mwovu, naye akasema moyoni mwake, ‘Bwana wangu atakawia muda mrefu,’ 49kisha akaanza kuwapiga watumishi wenzake, na kula na kunywa pamoja na walevi. 50Basi bwana wa mtumishi huyo atakuja siku asiyodhani na saa asiyoijua. 51Atamkata vipande vipande na kumweka katika sehemu moja pamoja na wanafiki, mahali ambako kutakuwa ni kulia na kusaga meno.

1Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. 2But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.” 3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. 8But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. 9Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake. 10Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. 11Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. 12Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. 14This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house. 18Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes. 19But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! 20Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, 21for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. 22Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened. 23“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. 24For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25“Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. 27For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together. 29But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; 30and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. 32“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. 33Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Most certainly I tell you, this generationwill not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 36But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven,but my Father only. 37“As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, 39and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left; 41two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left. 42Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. 45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes. 47Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has. 48But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’ 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards, 50the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it, 51and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.

1En Jezus ging uit en vertrok van den tempel; en Zijn discipelen kwamen bij Hem, om Hem de gebouwen des tempels te tonen. 2En Jezus zeide tot hen: Ziet gij niet al deze dingen? Voorwaar zeg Ik: Hier zal niet een steen op den anderen steen gelaten worden, die niet afgebroken zal worden. 3En als Hij op den Olijfberg gezeten was, gingen de discipelen tot Hem alleen, zeggende: Zeg ons, wanneer zullen deze dingen zijn, en welk zal het teken zijn van Uw toekomst, en van de voleinding der wereld? 4En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Ziet toe, dat u niemand verleide. 5Want velen zullen komen onder Mijn Naam, zeggende: Ik ben de Christus; en zij zullen velen verleiden. 6En gij zult horen van oorlogen, en geruchten van oorlogen; ziet toe, wordt niet verschrikt; want al die dingen moeten geschieden, maar nog is het einde niet. 7Want het ene volk zal tegen het andere volk opstaan, en het ene koninkrijk tegen het andere koninkrijk; en er zullen zijn hongersnoden, en pestilentien, en aardbevingen in verscheidene plaatsen. 8Doch al die dingen zijn maar een beginsel der smarten. 9Alsdan zullen zij u overleveren in verdrukking, en zullen u doden, en gij zult gehaat worden van alle volken, om Mijns Naams wil. 10En dan zullen er velen geergerd worden, en zullen elkander overleveren, en elkander haten. 11En vele valse profeten zullen opstaan, en zullen er velen verleiden. 12En omdat de ongerechtigheid vermenigvuldigd zal worden, zo zal de liefde van velen verkouden. 13Maar wie volharden zal tot het einde, die zal zalig worden. 14En dit Evangelie des Koninkrijks zal in de gehele wereld gepredikt worden tot een getuigenis allen volken; en dan zal het einde komen. 15Wanneer gij dan zult zien den gruwel der verwoesting, waarvan gesproken is door Daniel, de profeet, staande in de heilige plaats; (die het leest, die merke daarop!) 16Dat alsdan, die in Judea zijn, vlieden op de bergen; 17Die op het dak is, kome niet af, om iets uit zijn huis weg te nemen; 18En die op den akker is, kere niet weder terug, om zijn klederen weg te nemen. 19Maar wee de bevruchten, en den zogenden vrouwen in die dagen! 20Doch bidt, dat uw vlucht niet geschiede des winters, noch op een sabbat. 21Want alsdan zal grote verdrukking wezen, hoedanige niet is geweest van het begin der wereld tot nu toe, en ook niet zijn zal. 22En zo die dagen niet verkort werden, geen vlees zou behouden worden; maar om der uitverkorenen wil zullen die dagen verkort worden. 23Alsdan, zo iemand tot ulieden zal zeggen: Ziet, hier is de Christus, of daar, gelooft het niet. 24Want er zullen valse christussen en valse profeten opstaan, en zullen grote tekenen en wonderheden doen, alzo dat zij (indien het mogelijk ware) ook de uitverkorenen zouden verleiden. 25Ziet, Ik heb het u voorzegd! 26Zo zij dan tot u zullen zeggen: Ziet, hij is in de woestijn; gaat niet uit; Ziet, hij is in de binnenkameren; gelooft het niet. 27Want gelijk de bliksem uitgaat van het oosten, en schijnt tot het westen, alzo zal ook de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen wezen. 28Want alwaar het dode lichaam zal zijn, daar zullen de arenden vergaderd worden. 29En terstond na de verdrukking dier dagen, zal de zon verduisterd worden, en de maan zal haar schijnsel niet geven, en de sterren zullen van den hemel vallen, en de krachten der hemelen zullen bewogen worden. 30En alsdan zal in den hemel verschijnen het teken van den Zoon des mensen; en dan zullen al de geslachten der aarde wenen, en zullen den Zoon des mensen zien, komende op de wolken des hemels, met grote kracht en heerlijkheid. 31En Hij zal Zijn engelen uitzenden met een bazuin van groot geluid, en zij zullen Zijn uitverkorenen bijeenvergaderen uit de vier winden, van het ene uiterste der hemelen tot het andere uiterste derzelve. 32En leert van den vijgeboom deze gelijkenis: wanneer zijn tak nu teder wordt, en de bladeren uitspruiten, zo weet gij, dat de zomer nabij is. 33Alzo ook gijlieden, wanneer gij al deze dingen zult zien, zo weet, dat het nabij is, voor de deur. 34Voorwaar, Ik zeg u: Dit geslacht zal geenszins voorbijgaan, totdat al deze dingen zullen geschied zijn. 35De hemel en de aarde zullen voorbijgaan, maar Mijn woorden zullen geenszins voorbijgaan. 36Doch van dien dag en die ure weet niemand, ook niet de engelen der hemelen, dan Mijn Vader alleen. 37En gelijk de dagen van Noach waren, alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen. 38Want gelijk zij waren in de dagen voor den zondvloed, etende en drinkende, trouwende en ten huwelijk uitgevende, tot den dag toe, in welken Noach in de ark ging; 39En bekenden het niet, totdat de zondvloed kwam, en hen allen wegnam; alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van de Zoon des mensen. 40Alsdan zullen er twee op den akker zijn, de een zal aangenomen, en de ander zal verlaten worden. 41Er zullen twee vrouwen malen in den molen, de ene zal aangenomen, en de andere zal verlaten worden. 42Waakt dan; want gij weet niet, in welke ure uw Heere komen zal. 43Maar weet dit, dat zo de heer des huizes geweten had, in welke nachtwake de dief komen zou, hij zou gewaakt hebben, en zou zijn huis niet hebben laten doorgraven. 44Daarom, zijt ook gij bereid; want in welke ure gij het niet meent, zal de Zoon des mensen komen. 45Wie is dan de getrouwe en voorzichtige dienstknecht, denwelken zijn heer over zijn dienstboden gesteld heeft, om hunlieder hun voedsel te geven ter rechter tijd? 46Zalig is die dienstknecht, welken zijn heer, komende, zal vinden alzo doende. 47Voorwaar, Ik zeg u, dat hij hem zal zetten over al zijn goederen. 48Maar zo die kwade dienstknecht in zijn hart zou zeggen: Mijn heer vertoeft te komen; 49En zou beginnen zijn mededienstknechten te slaan, en te eten en te drinken met de dronkaards; 50Zo zal de heer van dezen dienstknecht komen ten dage, in welken hij hem niet verwacht, en ter ure, die hij niet weet; 51En zal hem afscheiden, en zijn deel zetten met de geveinsden; daar zal wening zijn en knersing der tanden.
