1Dopo queste cose udii come una gran voce d’una immensa moltitudine nel cielo, che diceva: Alleluia! La salvazione e la gloria e la potenza appartengono al nostro Dio; 2perché veraci e giusti sono i suoi giudici; poiché Egli ha giudicata la gran meretrice che corrompeva la terra con la sua fornicazione e ha vendicato il sangue de’ suoi servitori, ridomandandolo dalla mano di lei. 3E dissero una seconda volta: Alleluia! Il suo fumo sale per i secoli dei secoli. 4E i ventiquattro anziani e le quattro creature viventi si gettarono giù e adorarono Iddio che siede sul trono, dicendo: Amen! Alleluia! 5E una voce partì dal trono dicendo: Lodate il nostro Dio, voi tutti suoi servitori, voi che lo temete piccoli e grandi. 6Poi udii come la voce di una gran moltitudine e come il suono di molte acque e come il rumore di forti tuoni, che diceva: Alleluia! poiché il Signore Iddio nostro, l’Onnipotente, ha preso a regnare. 7Rallegriamoci e giubiliamo e diamo a lui la gloria, poiché son giunte le nozze dell’Agnello, e la sua sposa s’è preparata; 8e le è stato dato di vestirsi di lino fino, risplendente e puro; poiché il lino fino son le opere giuste dei santi. 9E l’angelo mi disse: Scrivi: Beati quelli che sono invitati alla cena delle nozze dell’Agnello. E mi disse: Queste sono le veraci parole di Dio. 10E io mi prostrai ai suoi piedi per adorarlo. Ed egli mi disse: Guardati dal farlo; io sono tuo conservo e de’ tuoi fratelli che serbano la testimonianza di Gesù: adora Iddio! Perché la testimonianza di Gesù; è lo spirito della profezia. 11Poi vidi il cielo aperto ed ecco un cavallo bianco; e colui che lo cavalcava si chiama il Fedele e il Verace; ed egli giudica e guerreggia con giustizia. 12E i suoi occhi erano una fiamma di fuoco, e sul suo capo v’eran molti diademi; e portava scritto un nome che nessuno conosce fuorché lui. 13Era vestito d’una veste tinta di sangue, e il suo nome è: la Parola di Dio. 14Gli eserciti che sono nel cielo lo seguivano sopra cavalli bianchi, ed eran vestiti di lino fino bianco e puro. 15E dalla bocca gli usciva una spada affilata per percuoter con essa le nazioni; ed egli le reggerà con una verga di ferro, e calcherà il tino del vino dell’ardente ira dell’Onnipotente Iddio. 16E sulla veste e sulla coscia porta scritto questo nome: RE DEI RE, SIGNOR DEI SIGNORI. 17Poi vidi un angelo che stava in piè nel sole, ed egli gridò con gran voce, dicendo a tutti gli uccelli che volano in mezzo al cielo: 18Venite, adunatevi per il gran convito di Dio, per mangiar carni di re e carni di capitani e carni di prodi e carni di cavalli e di cavalieri, e carni d’ogni sorta d’uomini liberi e schiavi, piccoli e grandi. 19E vidi la bestia e i re della terra e i loro eserciti radunati per muover guerra a colui che cavalcava il cavallo e all’esercito suo. 20E la bestia fu presa, e con lei fu preso il falso profeta che avea fatto i miracoli davanti a lei, coi quali aveva sedotto quelli che aveano preso il marchio della bestia e quelli che adoravano la sua immagine. Ambedue furon gettati vivi nello stagno ardente di fuoco e di zolfo. 21E il rimanente fu ucciso con la spada che usciva dalla bocca di colui che cavalcava il cavallo; e tutti gli uccelli si satollarono delle loro carni.
1After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation, power, and glory belong to our God: 2for true and righteous are his judgments. For he has judged the great prostitute, who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” 3A second said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever.” 4The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying, “Amen! Hallelujah!” 5A voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!” 6I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns! 7Let us rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let us give the glory to him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.” 8It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” He said to me, “These are true words of God.” 10I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, “Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.” 11I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. 13He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.” 14The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen. 15Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. 16He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” 17I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the sky, “Come! Be gathered together to the great supper of God, 18that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, and small and great.” 19I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse, and against his army. 20The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came out of his mouth. All the birds were filled with their flesh.
1En na dezen hoorde ik als een grote stem ener grote schare in den hemel, zeggende: Halleluja, de zaligheid, en de heerlijkheid, en de eer, en de kracht zij den Heere, onzen God. 2Want Zijn oordelen zijn waarachtig en rechtvaardig; dewijl Hij de grote hoer geoordeeld heeft, die de aarde verdorven heeft met haar hoererij, en Hij het bloed Zijner dienaren van haar hand gewroken heeft. 3En zij zeiden ten tweeden maal: Halleluja! En haar rook gaat op in alle eeuwigheid. 4En de vier en twintig ouderlingen, en de vier dieren vielen neder, en aanbaden God, Die op den troon zat, zeggende: Amen, Halleluja! 5En een stem kwam uit den troon, zeggende: Looft onzen God, gij al Zijn dienstknechten, en gij, die Hem vreest, beiden klein en groot! 6En ik hoorde als een stem ener grote schare, en als een stem veler wateren, en als een stem van sterke donderslagen, zeggende: Halleluja, want de Heere, de almachtige God, heeft als Koning geheerst. 7Laat ons blijde zijn, en vreugde bedrijven, en Hem de heerlijkheid geven; want de bruiloft des Lams is gekomen, en Zijn vrouw heeft zichzelve bereid. 8En haar is gegeven, dat zij bekleed worde met rein en blinkend fijn lijnwaad; want dit fijn lijnwaad zijn de rechtvaardigmakingen der heiligen. 9En hij zeide tot mij: Schrijf, zalig zijn zij, die geroepen zijn tot het avondmaal van de bruiloft des Lams. En hij zeide tot mij: Deze zijn de waarachtige woorden Gods. 10En ik viel neder voor zijn voeten, om hem te aanbidden, en hij zeide tot mij: Zie, dat gij dat niet doet; ik ben uw mededienstknecht, en uwer broederen, die de getuigenis van Jezus hebben; aanbid God. Want de getuigenis van Jezus is de geest der profetie. 11En ik zag den hemel geopend; en ziet, een wit paard, en Die op hetzelve zat, was genaamd Getrouw en Waarachtig, en Hij oordeelt en voert krijg in gerechtigheid. 12En Zijn ogen waren als een vlam vuurs, en op Zijn hoofd waren vele koninklijke hoeden; en Hij had een naam geschreven, die niemand wist, dan Hijzelf. 13En Hij was bekleed met een kleed, dat met bloed geverfd was; en Zijn naam wordt genoemd het Woord Gods. 14En de heirlegers in den hemel volgden Hem op witte paarden, gekleed met wit en rein fijn lijnwaad. 15En uit Zijn mond ging een scherp zwaard, opdat Hij daarmede de heidenen slaan zou. En Hij zal hen hoeden met een ijzeren roede; en Hij treedt den wijnpersbak van den wijn des toorns en der gramschap des almachtigen Gods. 16En Hij heeft op Zijn kleed en op Zijn dij dezen Naam geschreven: Koning der koningen, en Heere der heren. 17En ik zag een engel, staande in de zon; en hij riep met een grote stem, zeggende tot al de vogelen, die in het midden des hemels vlogen: Komt herwaarts, en vergadert u tot het avondmaal des groten Gods; 18Opdat gij eet het vlees der koningen, en het vlees der oversten over duizend, en het vlees der sterken, en het vlees der paarden en dergenen, die daarop zitten; en het vlees van alle vrijen en dienstknechten, en kleinen en groten. 19En ik zag het beest, en de koningen der aarde, en hun heirlegers vergaderd, om krijg te voeren tegen Hem, Die op het paard zat, en tegen Zijn heirlegers. 20En het beest werd gegrepen, en met hetzelve de valse profeet, die de tekenen in de tegenwoordigheid van hetzelve gedaan had, door welke hij verleid had, die het merkteken van het beest ontvangen hadden, en die deszelfs beeld aanbaden. Deze twee zijn levend geworpen in den poel des vuurs, die met sulfer brandt. 21En de overigen werden gedood met het zwaard Desgenen, Die op het paard zat, hetwelk uit Zijn mond ging; en al de vogelen werden verzadigd van hun vlees.
