1Y ACONTECIÓ que como Jeremías acabó de hablar á todo el pueblo todas las palabras de Jehová Dios de ellos, todas estas palabras por las cuales Jehová Dios de ellos le había enviado á ellos mismos, 2Dijo Azarías hijo de Osaías, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los varones soberbios dijeron á Jeremías: Mentira dices; no te ha enviado Jehová nuestro Dios para decir: No entréis en Egipto á peregrinar allí. 3Sino que Baruch hijo de Nerías te incita contra nosotros, para entregarnos en mano de los Caldeos, para matarnos y para hacernos trasportar á Babilonia. 4No obedeció pues Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra, y todo el pueblo, á la voz de Jehová para quedarse en tierra de Judá; 5Antes tomó Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra, á todo el resto de Judá, que de todas las gentes adonde habían sido echados habían vuelto para morar en tierra de Judá: 6A hombres, y mujeres, y niños, y á las hijas del rey, y á toda alma que había dejado Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia con Gedalías hijo de Ahicam hijo de Saphán, y á Jeremías profeta, y á Baruch hijo de Nerías; 7Y entraron en tierra de Egipto; porque no obedecieron á la voz de Jehová: y llegaron hasta Taphnes. 8Y fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías en Taphnes, diciendo: 9Toma con tu mano piedras grandes, y cúbrelas de barro en un horno de ladrillos que está á la puerta de la casa de Faraón en Taphnes, á vista de hombres Judíos; 10Y diles: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo envío, y tomaré á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y pondré su trono sobre estas piedras que he escondido, y tenderá su dosel sobre ellas. 11Y vendrá, y herirá la tierra de Egipto: los que á muerte, á muerte, y los que á cautiverio, á cautiverio, y los que á cuchillo, á cuchillo. 12Y pondré fuego á las casas de los dioses de Egipto; y las quemará, y á ellos llevará cautivos; y él se vestirá la tierra de Egipto, como el pastor se viste su capa, y saldrá de allá en paz. 13Además, quebrará las estatuas de Beth-semes, que es en tierra de Egipto, y las casas de los dioses de Egipto quemará á fuego.
1When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of Yahweh their God, with which Yahweh their God had sent him to them, even all these words, 2then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, You speak falsely: Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, You shall not go into Egypt to live there; 3but Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon. 4So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn’t obey the voice of Yahweh, to dwell in the land of Judah. 5But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah; 6the men, and the women, and the children, and the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah; 7and they came into the land of Egypt; for they didn’t obey the voice of Yahweh: and they came to Tahpanhes. 8Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying, 9Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick work, which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah; 10and tell them, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them. 11He shall come, and shall strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death shall be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword. 12I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go out from there in peace. 13He shall also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
1En het geschiedde, als Jeremia geeindigd had tot het ganse volk te spreken al de woorden des HEEREN, huns Gods, met dewelke hem de HEERE, hun God, tot hen gezonden had, te weten al die woorden, 2Zo sprak Azaria, de zoon van Hosaja, en Johanan, de zoon van Kareah, en al de trotse mannen, zeggende tot Jeremia: Gij spreekt leugen; de HEERE, onze God, heeft u niet gezonden, om te zeggen: Gijlieden zult niet gaan in Egypte, om aldaar als vreemdelingen te verkeren. 3Maar Baruch, de zoon van Nerija, hitst u tegen ons op, opdat hij ons overgeve in de hand der Chaldeen, dat zij ons doden en ons gevankelijk naar Babel wegvoeren. 4Alzo gehoorzaamde Johanan, de zoon van Kareah, en al de oversten der heiren, en al het volk, der stem des HEEREN niet, om in het land van Juda te blijven. 5Maar Johanan, de zoon van Kareah, en al de oversten der heiren namen het ganse overblijfsel van Juda, die van al de heidenen, waar zij waren henengedreven, wedergekeerd waren, om in het land van Juda te wonen; 6De mannen, en de vrouwen, en de kinderkens, en des konings dochteren, en alle ziel, die Nebuzaradan, de overste der trawanten, bij Gedalia, den zoon van Ahikam, den zoon van Safan, gelaten had, ook den profeet Jeremia, en Baruch, den zoon van Nerija; 7En zij togen in Egypteland, want zij waren der stem des HEEREN niet gehoorzaam; en zij kwamen tot Tachpanhes. 8Toen geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot Jeremia te Tachpanhes, zeggende: 9Neem grote stenen in uw hand, en verberg ze in de klei in den ticheloven, die bij de deur van Farao's huis te Tachpanhes is, voor de ogen der Joodse mannen; 10En zeg tot hen: Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal henenzenden, en Nebukadrezar, den koning van Babel, Mijn knecht, halen, en Ik zal zijn troon zetten boven op deze stenen, die Ik verborgen heb; en hij zal zijn schone tent daarover spannen. 11En hij zal komen en Egypteland slaan: wie ten dood, ten dode; en wie ter gevangenis, ter gevangenis; en wie ten zwaard, ten zwaarde. 12En Ik zal een vuur aansteken in de huizen der goden van Egypte, en hij zal ze verbranden, en gevankelijk wegvoeren; en hij zal Egypteland aantrekken, gelijk als een herder zijn kleed aantrekt, en hij zal van daar uittrekken in vrede. 13En hij zal de opgerichte beelden van Beth-Semes, hetwelk in Egypteland is, verbreken; en hij zal de huizen der goden van Egypte met vuur verbranden.
