1SUBIÓ, pues, Abram de Egipto hacia el Mediodía, él, y su mujer, con todo lo que tenía, y con él Lot. 2Y Abram era riquísimo en ganado, en plata y oro. 3Y volvió por sus jornadas de la parte del Mediodía hacia Bethel, hasta el lugar donde había estado antes su tienda entre Bethel y Hai; 4Al lugar del altar que había hecho allí antes: é invocó allí Abram el nombre de Jehová. 5Y asimismo Lot, que andaba con Abram, tenía ovejas, y vacas, y tiendas. 6Y la tierra no podía darles para que habitasen juntos: porque su hacienda era mucha, y no podían morar en un mismo lugar. 7Y hubo contienda entre los pastores del ganado de Abram y los pastores del ganado de Lot: y el Cananeo y el Pherezeo habitaban entonces en la tierra. 8Entonces Abram dijo á Lot: No haya ahora altercado entre mí y ti, entre mis pastores y los tuyos, porque somos hermanos. 9¿No está toda la tierra delante de ti? Yo te ruego que te apartes de mí. Si fueres á la mano izquierda, yo iré á la derecha: y si tú á la derecha, yo iré á la izquierda. 10Y alzó Lot sus ojos, y vió toda la llanura del Jordán, que toda ella era de riego, antes que destruyese Jehová á Sodoma y á Gomorra, como el huerto de Jehová, como la tierra de Egipto entrando en Zoar. 11Entonces Lot escogió para sí toda la llanura del Jordán: y partióse Lot de Oriente, y apartáronse el uno del otro. 12Abram asentó en la tierra de Canaán, y Lot asentó en las ciudades de la llanura, y fué poniendo sus tiendas hasta Sodoma. 13Mas los hombres de Sodoma eran malos y pecadores para con Jehová en gran manera. 14Y Jehová dijo á Abram, después que Lot se apartó de él: Alza ahora tus ojos, y mira desde el lugar donde estás hacia el Aquilón, y al Mediodía, y al Oriente y al Occidente; 15Porque toda la tierra que ves, la daré á ti y á tu simiente para siempre. 16Y haré tu simiente como el polvo de la tierra: que si alguno podrá contar el polvo de la tierra, también tu simiente será contada. 17Levántate, ve por la tierra á lo largo de ella y á su ancho; porque á ti la tengo de dar. 18Abram, pues, removiendo su tienda, vino y moró en el alcornocal de Mamre, que es en Hebrón, y edificó allí altar á Jehová.
1Abram went up out of Egypt: he, his wife, all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South. 2Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. 3He went on his journeys from the South even to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4to the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first. There Abram called on Yahweh’s name. 5Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. 6The land was not able to bear them, that they might live together: for their substance was great, so that they could not live together. 7There was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived in the land at that time. 8Abram said to Lot, “Please, let there be no strife between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are relatives. 9Isn’t the whole land before you? Please separate yourself from me. If you go to the left hand, then I will go to the right. Or if you go to the right hand, then I will go to the left.” 10Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well-watered everywhere, before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar. 11So Lot chose the Plain of the Jordan for himself. Lot traveled east, and they separated themselves the one from the other. 12Abram lived in the land of Canaan, and Lot lived in the cities of the plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom. 13Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinners against Yahweh. 14Yahweh said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him, “Now, lift up your eyes, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, 15for all the land which you see, I will give to you, and to your offspring forever. 16I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then your seed may also be numbered. 17Arise, walk through the land in its length and in its breadth; for I will give it to you.” 18Abram moved his tent, and came and lived by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to Yahweh.
1Alzo toog Abram op uit Egypte naar het zuiden, hij en zijn huisvrouw, en al wat hij had, en Lot met hem. 2En Abram was zeer rijk, in vee, in zilver, en in goud. 3En hij ging, volgens zijn reizen, van het zuiden tot Beth-El toe, tot aan de plaats, waar zijn tent in het begin geweest was, tussen Beth-El, en tussen Ai; 4Tot de plaats des altaars, dat hij in het eerst daar gemaakt had; en Abram heeft aldaar den Naam des HEEREN aangeroepen. 5En Lot, die met Abram toog, had ook schapen, en runderen, en tenten. 6En dat land droeg hen niet, om samen te wonen; want hun have was vele, zodat zij samen niet konden wonen. 7En er was twist tussen de herders van Abrams vee, en tussen de herders van Lots vee. Ook woonden toen de Kanaanieten en Ferezieten in dat land. 8En Abram zeide tot Lot: Laat toch geen twisting zijn tussen mij en tussen u, en tussen mijn herders en tussen uw herders; want wij zijn mannen broeders. 9Is niet het ganse land voor uw aangezicht? Scheid u toch van mij; zo gij de linkerhand kiest, zo zal ik ter rechterhand gaan; en zo gij de rechterhand, zo zal ik ter linkerhand gaan. 10En Lot hief zijn ogen op, en hij zag de ganse vlakte der Jordaan, dat zij die geheel bevochtigde; eer de HEERE Sodom en Gomorra verdorven had, was zij als de hof des HEEREN, als Egypteland, als gij komt te Zoar. 11Zo koos Lot voor zich de ganse vlakte der Jordaan, en Lot trok tegen het oosten; en zij werden gescheiden, de een van den ander. 12Abram dan woonde in het land Kanaan; en Lot woonde in de steden der vlakte, en sloeg tenten tot aan Sodom toe. 13En de mannen van Sodom waren boos, en grote zondaars tegen den HEERE. 14En de HEERE zeide tot Abram, nadat Lot van hem gescheiden was: Hef uw ogen op, en zie van de plaats, waar gij zijt noordwaarts en zuidwaarts, en oostwaarts en westwaarts. 15Want al dit land, dat gij ziet, zal Ik u geven, en aan uw zaad, tot in eeuwigheid. 16En Ik zal uw zaad stellen als het stof der aarde, zodat, indien iemand het stof der aarde zal kunnen tellen, zal ook uw zaad geteld worden. 17Maak u op, wandel door dit land, in zijn lengte en in zijn breedte, want Ik zal het u geven. 18En Abram sloeg tenten op, en kwam en woonde aan de eikenbossen van Mamre, die bij Hebron zijn; en hij bouwde aldaar den HEERE een altaar.
