1ESTOS son los que vinieron á David á Siclag, estando él aún encerrado por causa de Saúl hijo de Cis, y eran de los valientes ayudadores de la guerra. 2Estaban armados de arcos, y usaban de ambas manos en tirar piedras con honda, y saetas con arco. De los hermanos de Saúl de Benjamín: 3El principal Ahiezer, después Joas, hijos de Semaa Gabaathita; y Jeziel, y Pheleth, hijos de Azmaveth, y Beracah, y Jehú Anathothita; 4E Ismaías Gabaonita, valiente entre los treinta, y más que los treinta; y Jeremías, Jahaziel, Joanán, Jozabad Gederathita, 5Eluzai, y Jeremoth, Bealías, Semarías, y Sephatías Haruphita; 6Elcana, é Isías, y Azareel, y Joezer, y Jasobam, de Coré; 7Y Joela, y Zebadías, hijos de Jeroham de Gedor. 8También de los de Gad se huyeron á David, estando en la fortaleza en el desierto, muy valientes hombres de guerra para pelear, dispuestos á hacerlo con escudo y pavés: sus rostros como rostros de leones, y ligeros como las cabras monteses. 9Eser el primero, Obadías el segundo, Eliab el tercero, 10Mismana el cuarto, Jeremías el quinto, 11Attai el sexto, Eliel el séptimo, 12Johanán el octavo, Elzabad el nono, 13Jeremías el décimo, Machbani el undécimo. 14Estos fueron capitanes del ejército de los hijos de Gad. El menor tenía cargo de cien hombres, y el mayor de mil. 15Estos pasaron el Jordán en el mes primero, cuando había salido sobre todas sus riberas; é hicieron huir á todos los de los valles al oriente y al poniente. 16Asimismo algunos de los hijos de Benjamín y de Judá vinieron á David á la fortaleza. 17Y David salió á ellos, y hablóles diciendo: Si habéis venido á mí para paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón será unido con vosotros; mas si para engañarme en pro de mis enemigos, siendo mis manos sin iniquidad, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres, y demándelo. 18Entonces se envistió el espíritu en Amasai, príncipe de treinta, y dijo: Por ti, oh David, y contigo, oh hijo de Isaí. Paz, paz contigo, y paz con tus ayudadores; pues que también tu Dios te ayuda. Y David los recibió, y púsolos entre los capitanes de la cuadrilla. 19También se pasaron á David algunos de Manasés, cuando vino con los Filisteos á la batalla contra Saúl, aunque no les ayudaron; porque los sátrapas de los Filisteos, habido consejo, lo despidieron, diciendo: Con nuestras cabezas se pasará á su señor Saúl. 20Así que viniendo él á Siclag, se pasaron á él de los de Manasés, Adnas, Jozabad, Jediaiel, Michâel, Jozabad, Eliú, y Sillethai, príncipes de millares de los de Manasés. 21Estos ayudaron á David contra aquella compañía; porque todos ellos eran hombres valientes, y fueron capitanes en el ejército. 22Porque entonces todos los días venía ayuda á David, hasta hacerse un grande ejército, como ejército de Dios. 23Y este es el número de los principales que estaban á punto de guerra, y vinieron á David en Hebrón, para traspasarle el reino de Saúl, conforme á la palabra de Jehová: 24De los hijos de Judá que traían escudo y lanza, seis mil y ochocientos, á punto de guerra. 25De los hijos de Simeón, valientes y esforzados hombres para la guerra, siete mil y ciento. 26De los hijos de Leví, cuatro mil y seiscientos; 27Asimismo Joiada, príncipe de los del linaje de Aarón, y con él tres mil y setecientos; 28Y Sadoc, mancebo valiente y esforzado, con veinte y dos de los principales de la casa de su padre. 29De los hijos de Benjamín hermanos de Saúl, tres mil; porque aun en aquel tiempo muchos de ellos tenían la parte de la casa de Saúl. 30Y de los hijos de Ephraim, veinte mil y ochocientos, muy valientes, varones ilustres en las casas de sus padres. 31De la media tribu de Manasés, diez y ocho mil, los cuales fueron tomados por lista para venir á poner á David por rey. 32Y de los hijos de Issachâr, doscientos principales, entendidos en los tiempos, y que sabían lo que Israel debía hacer, cuyo dicho seguían todos sus hermanos. 33Y de Zabulón cincuenta mil, que salían á campaña á punto de guerra, con todas armas de guerra, dispuestos á pelear sin doblez de corazón. 34Y de Nephtalí mil capitanes, y con ellos treinta y siete mil con escudo y lanza. 35De los de Dan, dispuestos á pelear, veinte y ocho mil y seiscientos. 36Y de Aser, á punto de guerra y aparejados á pelear, cuarenta mil. 37Y de la otra parte del Jordán, de los Rubenitas y de los de Gad y de la media tribu de Manasés, ciento y veinte mil con toda suerte de armas de guerra. 38Todos estos hombres de guerra, dispuestos para guerrear, vinieron con corazón perfecto á Hebrón, para poner á David por rey sobre todo Israel; asimismo todos los demás de Israel estaban de un mismo ánimo para poner á David por rey. 39Y estuvieron allí con David tres días comiendo y bebiendo, porque sus hermanos habían prevenido para ellos. 40Y también los que les eran vecinos, hasta Issachâr y Zabulón y Nephtalí, trajeron pan en asnos, y camellos, y mulos, y bueyes; y provisión de harina, masas de higos, y pasas, vino y aceite, bueyes y ovejas en abundancia, porque en Israel había alegría.
1Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war. 2They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow: they were of Saul’s brothers of Benjamin. 3The chief was Ahiezer; then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite, 4and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite, 5Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite, 6Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites, 7and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor. 8Of the Gadites there separated themselves to David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes on the mountains; 9Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third, 10Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth, 11Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh, 12Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth, 13Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh. 14These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army: he who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand. 15These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west. 16There came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David. 17David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.” 18Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse: peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them, and made them captains of the band. 19Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle; but they didn’t help them; for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.” 20As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh. 21They helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the army. 22For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God. 23These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to Yahweh’s word. 24The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war. 25Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred. 26Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred. 27Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred, 28and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains. 29Of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul. 30Of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers’ houses. 31Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king. 32Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment. 33Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, with all kinds of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and who could command and were not of double heart. 34Of Naphtali one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand. 35Of the Danites who could set the battle in array, twenty-eight thousand six hundred. 36Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, forty thousand. 37On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle, one hundred twenty thousand. 38All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king. 39They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had made preparation for them. 40Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and cattle, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Israel.
1Dezen nu zijn het, die tot David kwamen naar Ziklag, toen hij nog besloten was voor het aangezicht van Saul, den zoon van Kis; zij waren ook onder de helden, die tot dien krijg hielpen. 2Gewapend met bogen, rechts en links met stenen werpende, en met pijlen schietende uit den boog; zij waren van de broederen van Saul, uit Benjamin. 3Het hoofd was Ahiezer, en Joas, zonen van Semaa, den Gibeathiet; daarna Jeziel en Pelet, zonen van Azmaveth, en Beracha, en Jehu, de Anathothiet. 4En Jismaja, de Gibeoniet, was een held onder de dertig, en over dertig gesteld; en Jirmeja, en Jahaziel, en Johanan, en Jozabad, de Gederathiet; 5Eluzai, en Jerimoth, en Bealja, en Semarja, en Sefatja, de Harufiet; 6Elkana, en Jissia, en Azareel, en Joezer, en Jasobam, de Korahieten; 7En Joela en Zebadja, de zonen van Jeroham, van Gedor. 8Ook scheidden zich van de Gadieten af tot David, in die vesting naar de woestijn, kloeke helden, krijgslieden ten oorlog, toegerust met rondas en schild; en hun aangezichten waren aangezichten der leeuwen; en zij waren als de reeen op de bergen in snelheid. 9Ezer was het hoofd; Obadja de tweede; Eliab de derde; 10Mismanna de vierde; Jirmeja de vijfde; 11Attai de zesde; Eliel de zevende; 12Johanan de achtste; Elzabad de negende; 13Jirmeja de tiende; Machbannai de elfde. 14Dezen waren van de kinderen van Gad, hoofden des heirs; een van de kleinsten was over honderd, en de grootste over duizend. 15Deze zelfden zijn het, die over de Jordaan gingen in de eerste maand, toen dezelve vol was aan al haar oevers; en zij verdreven al de inwoners der laagten, tegen het oosten en tegen het westen. 16Er kwamen ook van de kinderen van Benjamin en Juda op de vesting tot David. 17En David ging uit hun tegemoet, en antwoordde, en zeide tot hen: Indien gijlieden ten vrede tot mij gekomen zijt, om mij te helpen, zo zal mijn hart tegelijk over ulieden zijn; maar indien het is, om mij aan mijn vijanden bedriegelijk over te leveren, daar toch geen wrevel in mijn handen is, de God onzer vaderen zie het, en straffe het! 18En de Geest toog Amasai aan, den overste der hoofdlieden, en hij zeide: Wij zijn uw, o David, en met u zijn wij, gij, zoon van Isai. Vrede, vrede zij u, en vrede uw helperen; want uw God helpt u. Toen nam David hen aan, en stelde hen tot hoofden der benden. 19Er vielen ook van Manasse tot David, toen hij met de Filistijnen kwam, om tegen Saul te strijden, alhoewel zij hen niet hielpen; want de vorsten der Filistijnen verlieten hem met raad, zeggende: Met gevaar van onze hoofden zou hij tot Saul, zijn heer, vallen. 20Toen hij naar Ziklag toog, vielen tot hem uit Manasse: Adnah, en Jozabad, en Jediael, en Michael, en Jozabad, en Elihu, en Zillethai; hoofden der duizenden, die in Manasse waren. 21En dezen hielpen David mede tegen die benden; want alle dezen waren kloeke helden; en zij waren oversten in het heir. 22Want er kwamen er te dier tijd dag bij dag tot David, om hem te helpen, tot een groot leger toe, als een leger Gods. 23En dit zijn de getallen der hoofden dergenen, die toegerust waren ten heire, die tot David te Hebron kwamen, om het koninkrijk van Saul tot hem te wenden, naar den mond des HEEREN: 24Van de kinderen van Juda, die rondassen en spiesen droegen, waren zes duizend en achthonderd toegerust ten heire; 25Van de kinderen van Simeon, kloeke helden ten heire, zeven duizend en honderd; 26Van de kinderen van Levi, vier duizend en zeshonderd; 27En Jehojada was overste der Aaronieten; en met hem waren er drie duizend en zevenhonderd. 28En Zadok was een jongeling, een kloek held; en uit zijns vaders huis waren twee en twintig oversten; 29En van de kinderen van Benjamin, de broederen van Saul, drie duizend; want tot nog toe waren er velen van hen, die het met het huis van Saul hielden; 30En van de kinderen van Efraim, twintig duizend en achthonderd, kloeke helden, mannen van naam in het huis hunner vaderen; 31En van den halven stam van Manasse achttien duizend, die met namen uitgedrukt zijn, dat zij kwamen, om David koning te maken; 32En van de kinderen van Issaschar, die ervaren waren in het verstand van de tijden, om te weten wat Israel doen moest; hun hoofden waren tweehonderd, en alle hun broeders pasten op hun woord; 33Uit Zebulon, uitgaande in het heir, toegerust ten strijde met alle krijgswapenen, vijftig duizend; en om een slagorde te houden met een onwankelbaar hart; 34En uit Nafthali, duizend oversten, en bij hen met rondas en spies, zeven en dertig duizend. 35En uit de Danieten, ten strijde toegerust, acht en twintig duizend en zeshonderd; 36En uit Aser, uitgaande in het heir, om krijgsorde te houden, waren veertig duizend; 37En van gene zijde van de Jordaan, van de Rubenieten, en Gadieten, en den halven stam van Manasse, met allerlei krijgsgereedschap ten oorlog, honderd en twintigduizend. 38Al deze krijgslieden, die zich in slagorde konden houden, kwamen met een volkomen hart te Hebron, om David koning te maken over gans Israel. En ook was al het overige van Israel een hart, om David tot koning te maken. 39En zij waren daar bij David drie dagen lang, etende en drinkende; want hun broeders hadden voor hen wat toebereid. 40En ook de naasten aan hen, tot aan Issaschar, en Zebulon, en Nafthali, brachten brood op ezelen, en op kemelen, en op muildieren, en op runderen, meelspijs, stukken vijgen, en stukken rozijnen, en wijn, en olie, en runderen, en klein vee in menigte; want er was blijdschap in Israel.
