1Ούτω πας ο Ισραήλ απηριθμήθη κατά γενεαλογίας· και ιδού, είναι καταγεγραμμένοι εν τω βιβλίω των βασιλέων του Ισραήλ και Ιούδα. Μετωκίσθησαν δε εις την Βαβυλώνα διά τας ανομίας αυτών. 2Και οι πρώτοι κάτοικοι οι εν ταις ιδιοκτησίαις αυτών, εν ταις πόλεσιν αυτών, ήσαν οι Ισραηλίται, οι ιερείς, οι Λευΐται και οι Νεθινείμ. 3Και εν Ιερουσαλήμ κατώκησαν εκ των υιών Ιούδα και εκ των υιών Βενιαμίν και εκ των υιών Εφραΐμ και Μανασσή, 4Γουθαΐ ο υιός του Αμμιούδ, υιού του Αμρί, υιού του Ιμρί, υιού του Βανί, εκ των υιών του Φαρές υιού του Ιούδα. 5Και εκ των Σηλωνιτών, Ασαΐας ο πρωτότοκος και οι υιοί αυτού. 6Και εκ των υιών του Ζερά, Ιεουήλ και οι αδελφοί αυτών, εξακόσιοι ενενήκοντα. 7Και εκ των υιών Βενιαμίν, Σαλλού ο υιός του Μεσουλλάμ, υιού του Ωδουΐα, υιού του Ασενουά, 8και ο Ιεβνιά υιός του Ιεροάμ, και ο Ηλά υιός του Οζί, υιού του Μιχρί, και ο Μεσουλλάμ υιός του Σεφατία, υιού του Ραγουήλ, υιού του Ιβνιά· 9και οι αδελφοί αυτών, κατά τας γενεάς αυτών, εννεακόσιοι πεντήκοντα εξ. Πάντες ούτοι οι άνδρες ήσαν αρχηγοί πατριών, κατά τους πατρικούς οίκους αυτών. 10Και εκ των ιερέων, Ιεδαΐας και Ιωϊαρείβ και Ιαχείν 11και Αζαρίας ο υιός του Χελκία, υιού του Μεσουλλάμ, υιού του Σαδώκ, υιού του Μεραϊώθ, υιού του Αχιτώβ, άρχων του οίκου του Θεού· 12και Αδαΐας ο υιός του Ιεροάμ, υιού του Πασχώρ, υιού του Μαλχίου, και Μαασαί ο υιός του Αδιήλ, υιού του Ιαζηρά, υιού του Μεσουλλάμ, υιού του Μεσιλλεμίθ, υιού του Ιμμήρ· 13και οι αδελφοί αυτών, αρχηγοί των πατρικών οίκων αυτών, χίλιοι επτακόσιοι εξήκοντα, δυνατοί εν ισχύϊ, άξιοι διά το έργον της υπηρεσίας του οίκου του Κυρίου. 14και εκ των Λευϊτών, Σεμαΐας ο υιός του Ασσούβ, υιού του Αζρικάμ, υιού του Ασαβία, εκ των υιών Μεραρί· 15και Βακβακάρ, Ερές και Γαλάλ και Ματθανίας ο υιός του Μιχά, υιού του Ζιχρί, υιού του Ασάφ· 16και Οβαδία ο υιός του Σεμαΐα, υιού του Γαλάλ, υιού του Ιεδουθούν, και Βαραχίας ο υιός του Ασά, υιού του Ελκανά, ο κατοικήσας εν ταις κώμαις των Νετωφαθιτών. 17οι δε θυρωροί ήσαν Σαλλούμ και Ακχούβ και Ταλμών και Αχιμάν και οι αδελφοί αυτών· ο Σαλλούμ ήτο ο άρχων· 18ούτοι μέχρι του νυν ήσαν εν τη πύλη του βασιλέως κατά ανατολάς θυρωροί κατά τα τάγματα των υιών του Λευΐ. 19Και Σαλλούμ ο υιός του Κωρή, υιού του Εβιασάφ, υιού του Κορέ, και οι αδελφοί αυτού, εκ του οίκου του πατρός αυτού, οι Κορίται, ήσαν επί το έργον της υπηρεσίας, φύλακες των πυλών της σκηνής· και οι πατέρες αυτών, εν τω στρατοπέδω του Κυρίου, ήσαν φύλακες της εισόδου. 20Και Φινεές ο υιός του Ελεάζαρ, μετά του οποίου ήτο ο Κύριος, ήτο άρχων επ' αυτούς το πρότερον. 21Ζαχαρίας ο υιός του Μεσελεμία ήτο πυλωρός της θύρας της σκηνής του μαρτυρίου. 22Πάντες ούτοι, οι εκλελεγμένοι διά να ήναι πυλωροί των θυρών, ήσαν διακόσιοι δώδεκα. Ούτοι ήσαν απηριθμημένοι κατά γενεαλογίας εν ταις κώμαις αυτών, τους οποίους ο Δαβίδ και ο Σαμουήλ ο βλέπων είχον καταστήσει εις το υπούργημα αυτών. 23Και αυτοί και οι υιοί αυτών είχον την επιστασίαν των πυλών του οίκου του Κυρίου, του οίκου της σκηνής, διά να φυλάττωσι. 24προς τους τέσσαρας ανέμους ήσαν οι πυλωροί, προς ανατολάς, προς δυσμάς, προς βορράν και προς νότον. 25Και οι αδελφοί αυτών, οι εν ταις κώμαις αυτών, έπρεπε να έρχωνται κατά επτά ημέρας εις τους διωρισμένους καιρούς μετά τούτων. 26Διότι οι Λευΐται ούτοι, οι τέσσαρες αρχιπύλωροι, έμενον εις το υπούργημα αυτών και είχον την επιστασίαν των οικημάτων και των θησαυρών του οίκου του Θεού. 27Και διενυκτέρευον πέριξ του οίκου του Θεού, διότι η φυλακή ήτο επ' αυτούς, και αυτοί έπρεπε να ανοίγωσιν αυτόν καθ' εκάστην πρωΐαν. 28Και τινές εξ αυτών είχον την επιστασίαν των λειτουργικών σκευών, διότι κατά αριθμόν εισέφερον αυτά και κατά αριθμόν εξέφερον αυτά. 29Εξ αυτών έτι ήσαν διωρισμένοι επί των άλλων σκευών και επί πάντων των σκευών των ιερών και επί της σεμιδάλεως και του οίνου και του ελαίου και του θυμιάματος και των αρωμάτων. 30Και τινές εκ των υιών των ιερέων κατεσκεύαζον το μύρον το αρωματικόν. 31Και Ματταθίας, ο εκ των Λευϊτών, ο πρωτότοκος Σαλλούμ του Κορίτου, είχε την επιστασίαν των τηγανιζομένων πραγμάτων. 32Και άλλοι εκ των αδελφών αυτών, εκ των υιών των Κααθιτών, ήσαν επί των άρτων της προθέσεως, διά να ετοιμάζωσιν αυτούς κατά σάββατον. 33Και εκ τούτων ήσαν οι ψαλτωδοί, αρχηγοί πατριών των Λευϊτών, οίτινες έμενον εν τοις οικήμασιν ελεύθεροι· διότι ενησχολούντο εις το έργον τούτο ημέραν και νύκτα. 34ούτοι ήσαν οι αρχηγοί των πατριών των Λευϊτών, κατά τας γενεάς αυτών· ούτοι οι αρχηγοί κατώκουν εν Ιερουσαλήμ. 35Και εν Γαβαών κατώκησεν ο πατήρ Γαβαών, ο Ιεχιήλ, το δε όνομα της γυναικός αυτού ήτο Μααχά· 36και ο πρωτότοκος αυτού υιός ήτο Αβδών, έπειτα Σούρ και Κείς και Βάαλ και Νηρ και Ναδάβ 37και Γεδώρ και Αχιώ και Ζαχαρίας και Μικλώθ· 38και ο Μικλώθ εγέννησε τον Σιμεάμ. Και ούτοι έτι κατώκησαν μετά των αδελφών αυτών εν Ιερουσαλήμ, αντικρύ των αδελφών αυτών. 39Και ο Νηρ εγέννησε τον Κείς, και ο Κείς εγέννησε τον Σαούλ, και ο Σαούλ εγέννησε τον Ιωνάθαν και τον Μαλχί-σουέ και τον Αβιναδάβ και τον Εσ-βαάλ. 40Και ο υιός του Ιωνάθαν ήτο ο Μερίβ-βαάλ· και ο Μερίβ-βαάλ εγέννησε τον Μιχά. 41Και οι υιοί του Μιχά ήσαν Φιθών και Μελέχ και Θαρεά, 42και Άχαζ ο γεννήσας τον Ιαρά· και Ιαρά εγέννησε τον Αλεμέθ, και τον Αζμαβέθ και τον Ζιμβρί· και Ζιμβρί εγέννησε τον Μοσά. 43και Μοσά εγέννησε τον Βινεά· και Ρεφαΐα ήτο υιός τούτου. ο Ελεασά υιός τούτου· Ασήλ υιός τούτου. 44Ο δε Ασήλ είχεν εξ υιούς, των οποίων τα ονόματα είναι ταύτα· Αζρικάμ, Βοχερού και Ισμαήλ και Σεαρία και Οβαδία και Ανάν· ούτοι ήσαν οι υιοί του Ασήλ.

1So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience. 2Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim. 3In Jerusalem lived of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh: 4Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah. 5Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons. 6Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brothers, six hundred ninety. 7Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah, 8and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah; 9and their brothers, according to their generations, nine hundred fifty-six. All these men were heads of fathers’ households by their fathers’ houses. 10Of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, Jachin, 11and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house; 12and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer; 13and their brothers, heads of their fathers’ houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty; very able men for the work of the service of God’s house. 14Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari; 15and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph, 16and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites. 17The porters: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brothers (Shallum was the chief), 18who previously served in the king’s gate eastward: they were the porters for the camp of the children of Levi. 19Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent: and their fathers had been over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entry. 20Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and Yahweh was with him. 21Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the Tent of Meeting. 22All these who were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust. 23So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of Yahweh’s house, even the house of the tent, by wards. 24On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south. 25Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them: 26for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house. 27They lodged around God’s house, because that duty was on them; and to them pertained its opening morning by morning. 28Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out. 29Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices. 30Some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices. 31Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans. 32Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath. 33These are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service; for they were employed in their work day and night. 34These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these lived at Jerusalem. 35In Gibeon there lived the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife’s name was Maacah: 36and his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab, 37and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth. 38Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their brothers in Jerusalem, over against their brothers. 39Ner became the father of Kish; and Kish became the father of Saul; and Saul became the father of Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal. 40The son of Jonathan was Merib Baal; and Merib Baal became the father of Micah. 41The sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz. 42Ahaz became the father of Jarah; and Jarah became the father of Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza; 43and Moza became the father of Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son. 44Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.

Dezen waren in het geslachtsregister gesteld naar hun dorpen. David en Samuel, de ziener, hadden hen in hun ambt bevestigd. 23Zij dan en hun zonen waren aan de poorten van het huis des HEEREN, in het huis der tent, aan de wachten. 24Die poortiers waren aan de vier winden, tegen het oosten, tegen het westen, tegen het noorden, en tegen het zuiden. 25En hun broeders waren op hun dorpen, inkomende ten zevenden dage van tijd tot tijd, om met hen te dienen; 26Want in dat ambt waren vier overste poortiers, die Levieten waren; en zij waren over de kameren en over de schatten van het huis Gods. 27En zij bleven over nacht rondom het huis Gods; want op hen was de wacht, en zij waren over de opening, en dat allen morgen. 28En enigen van hen waren over de vaten van den dienst; want bij getal droegen zij ze in, en bij getal droegen zij ze uit. 29Want uit dezelve zijn er besteld over de vaten, en over al de heilige vaten, en over de meelbloem, en wijn, en olie, en wierook, en specerij. 30En uit de zonen der priesteren waren de bereiders van het reukwerk der specerijen. 31En Mattithja uit de Levieten, dewelke was de eerstgeborene van Sallum, den Korahiet, was in het ambt over het werk, dat in pannen gekookt wordt. 32En uit de kinderen der Kahathieten, uit hun broederen, waren enigen over de broden der toerichting, om die alle sabbatten te bereiden. 33Uit dezen zijn ook de zangers, hoofden der vaderen onder de Levieten in de kameren, dienstvrij; want dag en nacht was het op hen, in dat werk te zijn. 34Dit zijn de hoofden der vaderen onder de Levieten, hoofden in hun geslachten; dezen woonden te Jeruzalem. 35Maar te Gibeon hadden gewoond Jeiel, de vader van Gibeon; de naam zijner zuster nu was Maacha. 36En Abdon was zijn eerstgeboren zoon, daarna Zur, en Kis, en Baal, en Ner, en Nadab. 37En Gedor, en Ahio, en Zacharja, en Mikloth. 38Mikloth nu gewon Simeam; dezen woonden ook te Jeruzalem, tegenover hun broederen, met hun broederen. 39En Ner gewon Kis, en Kis gewon Saul, en Saul gewon Jonathan, en Malchi-sua, en Abinadab, en Esbaal. 40En Jonathans zoon van Merib-baal, en Merib-baal gewon Micha. 41De kinderen van Micha nu waren Pithon, en Melech, en Thaerea. 42En Achaz gewon Jaera, en Jaera gewon Alemeth, en Azmaveth, en Zimri; en Zimri gewon Moza; 43En Moza gewon Bina; wiens zoon was Refaja; wiens zoon was Elasa; wiens zoon was Azel. 44Azel nu had zes zonen, en dit zijn hun namen: Azrikam, Bochru, en Ismael, en Searja, en Obadja, en Hanan; dezen zijn Azels zonen.
