1Οι δε υιοί Ισραήλ κατά την απαρίθμησιν αυτών, οι αρχηγοί των πατριών και οι χιλίαρχοι και οι εκατόνταρχοι και οι αξιωματικοί αυτών οι υπηρετούντες τον βασιλέα, καθ' ύλην την τάξιν των διαιρέσεων, αίτινες εισήρχοντο και εξήρχοντο κατά μήνα εις πάντας τους μήνας του ενιαυτού, ήσαν εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες εις εκάστην διαίρεσιν. 2Επί της διαιρέσεως της πρώτης, διά τον πρώτον μήνα, ήτο Ιασωβεάμ ο υιός του Ζαβδιήλ· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού ήσαν εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 3Ούτος ήτο εκ των υιών του Φαρές, άρχων πάντων των αρχόντων των στρατευμάτων διά τον πρώτον μήνα. 4Και επί της διαιρέσεως του δευτέρου μηνός ήτο Δωδαΐ ο Αχωχίτης· και της διαιρέσεως αυτού άρχων ο Μικλώθ· εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού ήσαν ομοίως εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 5Ο τρίτος αρχηγός του στρατεύματος διά τον τρίτον μήνα ήτο Βεναΐας ο υιός του Ιωδαέ, πρώτος αξιωματικός· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού ήσαν εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 6Ούτος είναι ο Βεναΐας ο δυνατός μεταξύ των τριάκοντα και επί των τριάκοντα· και επί της διαιρέσεως αυτού ήτο Αμμιζαβάδ ο υιός αυτού. 7Ο τέταρτος διά τον τέταρτον μήνα Ασαήλ ο αδελφός του Ιωάβ, και μετ' αυτόν Ζεβαδίας ο υιός αυτού· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 8Ο πέμπτος αρχηγός διά τον πέμπτον μήνα Σαμούθ ο Ιεζραΐτης· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 9Ο έκτος διά τον έκτον μήνα Ιράς ο υιός του Ικκής ο Θεκωΐτης· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 10Ο έβδομος διά τον έβδομον μήνα Χελής ο Φελωνίτης, εκ των υιών Εφραΐμ· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 11Ο όγδοος διά τον όγδοον μήνα Σιββεχαΐ ο Χουσαθίτης, εκ των Ζαραϊτών· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 12Ο έννατος διά τον έννατον μήνα Αβιέζερ ο Αναθωθίτης, εκ των Βενιαμιτών· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 13Ο δέκατος διά τον δέκατον μήνα Μααραΐ ο Νετωφαθίτης, εκ των Ζαραϊτών· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 14Ο ενδέκατος διά τον ενδέκατον μήνα Βεναΐας ο Πιραθωνίτης, εκ των υιών Εφραΐμ· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 15Ο δωδέκατος διά τον δωδέκατον μήνα Χελδαΐ ο Νετωφαθίτης, εκ του Γοθονιήλ· και εν τη διαιρέσει αυτού εικοσιτέσσαρες χιλιάδες. 16Επί δε των φυλών του Ισραήλ, ο άρχων των Ρουβηνιτών ήτο Ελιέζερ ο υιός του Ζιχρί· των Συμεωνιτών, Σεφατίας ο υιός του Μααχά· 17των Λευϊτών, Ασαβίας ο υιός του Κεμουήλ· των Ααρωνιτών, ο Σαδώκ· 18του Ιούδα, ο Ελιού, εκ των αδελφών του Δαβίδ· του Ισσάχαρ, Αμρί ο υιός του Μιχαήλ· 19του Ζαβουλών, Ισμαΐας ο υιός του Οβαδία· του Νεφθαλί, Ιεριμώθ ο υιός του Αζριήλ· 20των υιών Εφραΐμ, Ιησούς ο υιός του Αζαζίου· της ημισείας φυλής Μανασσή, Ιωήλ ο υιός του Φεδαΐα· 21της ημισείας φυλής Μανασσή εν Γαλαάδ, Ιδδώ ο υιός του Ζαχαρία· του Βενιαμίν, Ιασιήλ ο υιός του Αβενήρ· 22του Δαν, Αζαρεήλ ο υιός του Ιεροάμ. Ούτοι ήσαν οι άρχοντες των φυλών του Ισραήλ. 23Πλην ο Δαβίδ δεν έλαβε τον αριθμόν αυτών από είκοσι ετών ηλικίας και κάτω· διότι ο Κύριος είπεν, ότι θέλει πληθύνει τον Ισραήλ ως τα άστρα του ουρανού. 24Ο Ιωάβ ο υιός της Σερουΐας ήρχισε να αριθμή, πλην δεν ετελείωσε, διότι έπεσε διά τούτο οργή κατά του Ισραήλ· όθεν δεν κατεχωρίσθη ο αριθμός μεταξύ των απαριθμήσεων εν τοις χρονικοίς του βασιλέως Δαβίδ. 25Επί δε των θησαυρών του βασιλέως ήτο Αζμαβέθ ο υιός του Αδήλ· και επί των θησαυρών των αγρών, των πόλεων και των κωμών και των φρουρίων, Ιωνάθαν ο υιός του Οζίου· 26και επί των εργαζομένων το έργον των αγρών διά την γεωργίαν της γης, Εζρί ο υιός του Χελούβ· 27και επί των αμπελώνων, Σιμεΐ ο Ραμαθαίος· και επί του εισοδήματος των αμπελώνων διά τας οινοθήκας, Ζαβδί ο Σιφμίτης· 28και επί των ελαιών και συκαμίνων των εν τη πεδινή, Βάαλ-ανάν ο Γεδερίτης· και επί των ελαιοθηκών, ο Ιωάς· 29και επί των βοών των βοσκομένων εν Σαρών, Σιτραΐ ο Σαρωνίτης· και επί των βοών των εν ταις κοιλάσι, Σαφάτ ο υιός του Αδλαΐ· 30και επί των καμήλων, Οβίλ ο Ισμαηλίτης· και επί των όνων, Ιεδαΐας ο Μερωνοθίτης· 31και επί των προβάτων, Ιαζίζ ο Αγαρίτης. Πάντες ούτοι ήσαν επιστάται των υπαρχόντων του βασιλέως Δαβίδ. 32Ο δε Ιωνάθαν, ο πατράδελφος του Δαβίδ, ήτο σύμβουλος, ανήρ συνετός και γραμματεύς· και Ιεχιήλ, ο υιός του Αχμονί, ήτο μετά των υιών του βασιλέως· 33και ο Αχιτόφελ, σύμβουλος του βασιλέως· και Χουσαΐ ο Αρχίτης, οικείος του βασιλέως· 34και μετά τον Αχιτόφελ, Ιωδαέ ο υιός του Βεναΐα και ο Αβιάθαρ· αρχιστράτηγος δε του βασιλέως ο Ιωάβ.

1Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers’ households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king, in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year—of every division were twenty-four thousand. 2Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 3He was of the children of Perez, the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month. 4Over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, and his division; and Mikloth the ruler: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 5The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest, chief: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 6This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and of his division was Ammizabad his son. 7The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 8The fifth captain for this fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 9The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 10The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 11The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 12The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 13The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites: and in his division were Twenty-four thousand. 14The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 15The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his division were twenty-four thousand. 16Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri the ruler: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah: 17of Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of Aaron, Zadok: 18of Judah, Elihu, one of the brothers of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael: 19of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah: of Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel: 20of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah: of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah: 21of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner: 22of Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the captains of the tribes of Israel. 23But David didn’t take the number of them from twenty years old and under, because Yahweh had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky. 24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but didn’t finish; and there came wrath for this on Israel; neither was the number put into the account in the chronicles of king David. 25Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the towers, was Jonathan the son of Uzziah: 26Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub: 27and over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: and over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite: 28and over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash: 29and over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai: 30and over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite: and over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite. 31All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s. 32Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons: 33Ahithophel was the king’s counselor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend: 34and after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the captain of the king’s army was Joab.

1Dit nu zijn de kinderen Israels naar hun getal, de hoofden der vaderen, en de oversten der duizenden en der honderden, met hun ambtlieden, den koning dienende in alle zaken der verdelingen, aangaande en afgaande van maand tot maand in al de maanden des jaars; elke verdeling was vier en twintig duizend. 2Over de eerste verdeling in de eerste maand was Jasobam, de zoon van Zabdiel; en in zijn verdeling waren er vier en twintig duizend. 3Hij was uit de kinderen van Perez, het hoofd van al de oversten der heiren in de eerste maand. 4En over de verdeling in de tweede maand was Dodai, de Ahohiet, en over zijn verdeling was Mikloth ook voorganger; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 5De derde overste des heirs in de derde maand was Benaja, de zoon van Jojada, den opperambtman; die was het hoofd; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 6Deze Benaja was een held van de dertig, en over de dertig; en over zijn verdeling was Ammizabad, zijn zoon. 7De vierde, in de vierde maand, was Asahel, de broeder van Joab, en na hem Zebadja, zijn zoon; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 8De vijfde, in de vijfde maand, was Samhuth, de Jizrahiet, de overste; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 9De zesde, in de zesde maand, was Ira, de zoon van Ikkes, de Thekoiet; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 10De zevende, in de zevende maand, was Helez, de Peloniet, uit de kinderen van Efraim; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 11De achtste, in de achtste maand, was Sibbechai, de Husathiet, van de Zerahieten; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 12De negende, in de negende maand, was Abiezer, de Anathothiet; van de Benjaminieten; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 13De tiende, in de tiende maand, was Maharai, de Nethofathiet, van de Zerahieten; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 14De elfde, in de elfde maand, was Benaja, de Pirhathoniet, van de kinderen van Efraim; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 15De twaalfde, in de twaalfde maand, was Heldai, de Nethofathiet, van Othniel; in zijn verdeling waren er ook vier en twintig duizend. 16Doch over de stammen van Israel waren dezen: over de Rubenieten was Eliezer, de zoon van Zichri, voorganger; over de Simeonieten was Sefatja, de zoon van Maacha; 17Over de Levieten was Hasabja, de zoon van Kemuel; over de Aaronieten was Zadok; 18Over Juda was Elihu, uit de broederen van David; over Issaschar was Omri, de zoon van Michael; 19Over Zebulon was Jismaja, de zoon van Obadja; over Nafthali was Jerimoth, de zoon van Azriel; 20Over de kinderen van Efraim was Hosea, de zoon van Azarja; over den halven stam van Manasse was Joel, de zoon van Pedaja; 21Over half Manasse, in Gilead, was Jiddo, de zoon van Zecharja; over Benjamin was Jaasiel, de zoon van Abner; 22Over Dan was Azarel, de zoon van Jeroham. Dezen waren de oversten der stammen van Israel. 23Maar David nam het getal van die niet op, die twintig jaren oud en daar beneden waren; omdat de HEERE gezegd had, dat Hij Israel vermenigvuldigen zou als de sterren des hemels. 24Joab, de zoon van Zeruja, had begonnen te tellen, maar hij voleindde het niet, omdat er deshalve een grote toorn over Israel gekomen was; daarom is het getal niet opgebracht in de rekening der kronieken van den koning David. 25En over de schatten des konings was Azmaveth, de zoon van Adiel; en over de schatten op het land, in de steden, en in de dorpen, en in de torens, was Jonathan, de zoon van Uzzia. 26En over die, die het akkerwerk deden, in de landbouwing, was Esri, de zoon van Chelub. 27En over de wijngaarden was Simei, de Ramathiet; maar over hetgeen dat van de wijnstokken kwam tot de schatten des wijns, was Zabdi, de Sifmiet. 28En over de olijfgaarden en de wilde vijgebomen, die in de laagte waren, was Baal-Hanan, de Gederiet; maar Joas was over de schatten der olie. 29En over de runderen, die in Saron weidden, was Sitrai, de Saroniet; maar over de runderen in de laagten, was Safat, de zoon van Adlai. 30En over de kemelen was Obil, de Ismaeliet; en over de ezelinnen was Jechdeja, de Meronothiet. 31En over het kleine vee was Jaziz, de Hageriet. Alle dezen waren oversten over de have, die de koning David had. 32En Jonathan, Davids oom, was raad, een verstandig man; hij was ook schrijver; Jehiel nu, de zoon van Hachmoni, was bij de zonen des konings. 33En Achitofel was raad des konings; en Husai, de Archiet, was des konings vriend. 34En na Achitofel was Jojada, de zoon van Benaja, en Abjathar; maar Joab was des konings krijgsoverste.
