1Ngươi cũng hãy viết cho thiên sứ của Hội thánh Sạt-đe rằng: Nầy là lời phán của Ðấng có bảy vì thần Ðức Chúa Trời và bảy ngôi sao: Ta biết công việc ngươi; ngươi có tiếng là sống, nhưng mà là chết. 2Hãy tỉnh thức, và làm cho vững sự còn lại, là sự hầu chết; vì ta không thấy công việc của ngươi là trọn vẹn trước mặt Ðức Chúa Trời ta. 3Vậy hãy nhớ lại mình đã nhận và nghe đạo thể nào, thì giữ lấy, và ăn năn đi. Nếu ngươi chẳng tỉnh thức, ta sẽ đến như kẻ trộm, và ngươi không biết giờ nào ta đến bắt ngươi thình lình. 4Nhưng, ở Sạt-đe, ngươi còn có mấy người chưa làm ô uế áo xống mình: những kẻ đó sẽ mặc áo trắng mà đi cùng ta, vì họ xứng đáng như vậy. 5Kẻ nào thắng, sẽ được mặc áo trắng như vậy. Ta sẽ không xóa tên người khỏi sách sự sống và sẽ nhận danh người trước mặt Cha ta, cùng trước mặt các thiên sứ Ngài. 6Ai có tai, hãy nghe lời Ðức Thánh Linh phán cùng các Hội thánh! 7Ngươi cũng hãy viết cho thiên sứ của Hội thánh Phi-la-đen-phi rằng: Nầy là lời phán của Ðấng thánh, chân thật, là Ðấng có chìa khóa của Ða-vít, mở thì không ai đóng được, đóng thì không ai mở được: 8Ta biết công việc ngươi; nầy, ta đã mở trước mặt ngươi một cái cửa không ai đóng được; vì ngươi có ít năng lực, mà đã giữ đạo ta, và chẳng chối danh ta. 9Nầy, ta ban cho ngươi mấy kẻ trong những kẻ thuộc về hội quỉ Sa-tan, chúng nó xưng mình là người Giu-đa, mà kỳ thực không phải, nhưng chúng nó nói dối; nầy, ta sẽ khiến chúng nó đến sấp mình xuống dưới chơn ngươi, và sẽ cho chúng nó biết rằng ta đã yêu ngươi. 10Vì ngươi đã giữ lời nhịn nhục ta, ta cũng sẽ giữ ngươi khỏi giờ thử thách, là giờ sẽ đến trong khắp thế gian, đặng thử những người ở trên đất. 11Ta đến mau kíp; hãy giữ điều ngươi có, hầu cho không ai cất lấy mão triều thiên của ngươi. 12Kẻ nào thắng, ta sẽ cho làm trụ trong đền Ðức Chúa Trời ta, và người sẽ không ra khỏi đó nữa; ta lại sẽ lấy danh Ðức Chúa Trời ta, danh của thành Ðức Chúa Trời ta, là Giê-ru-sa-lem mới từ trên trời, bởi Ðức Chúa Trời ta mà xuống, cùng danh mới ta, mà viết trên người. 13Ai có tai, hãy nghe lời Ðức Thánh Linh phải cùng các Hội thánh! 14Ngươi cũng hãy viết cho thiên sứ của Hội thánh Lao-đi-xê rằng: Nầy là lời phán của Ðấng A-men, Ðấng làm chứng thành tín chơn thật, Ðấng làm đầu cội rễ cuộc sáng thế của Ðức Chúa Trời: 15Ta biết công việc của ngươi; ngươi không lạnh cũng không nóng. Ước gì ngươi lạnh hoặc nóng thì hay! 16Vậy, vì ngươi hâm hẩm, không nóng cũng không lạnh, nên ta sẽ nhả ngươi ra khỏi miệng ta. 17Vả, ngươi nói: Ta giàu, ta nên giàu có rồi, không cần chi nữa; song ngươi không biết rằng mình khổ sở, khốn khó, nghèo ngặt, đui mù và lỏa lồ. 18Ta khuyên ngươi hãy mua vàng thử lửa của ta, hầu cho ngươi trở nên giàu có; mua những áo trắng, hầu cho ngươi được mặc vào và điều xấu hổ về sự trần truồng ngươi khỏi lộ ra; lại mua thuốc xức mắt đặng thoa mắt ngươi, hầu cho ngươi thấy được. 19Phàm những kẻ ta yêu thì ta quở trách sửa phạt; vậy hãy có lòng sốt sắng, và ăn năn đi. 20Nầy, ta đứng ngoài cửa mà gõ; nếu ai nghe tiếng ta mà mở cửa cho, thì ta sẽ vào cùng người ấy, ăn bữa tối với người, và người với ta. 21Kẻ nào thắng, ta sẽ cho ngồi với ta trên ngôi ta, như chính ta đã thắng và ngồi với Cha ta trên ngôi Ngài. 22Ai có tai, hãy nghe lời Ðức Thánh Linh phán cùng các Hội thánh!
1“And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: “He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things: “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God. 3Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you. 4Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. 7“To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things: 8“I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name. 9Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie. Behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name. 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. 14“To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of God’s creation, says these things: 15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. 17Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. 19As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. 21He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

Indien gij dan niet waakt, zo zal Ik over u komen als een dief, en gij zult niet weten, op wat ure Ik over u komen zal. 4Doch gij hebt enige weinige namen ook te Sardis, die hun klederen niet bevlekt hebben, en zij zullen met Mij wandelen in witte klederen, overmits zij het waardig zijn. 5Die overwint, die zal bekleed worden met witte klederen; en Ik zal zijn naam geenszins uitdoen uit het boek des levens, en Ik zal zijn naam belijden voor Mijn Vader en voor Zijn engelen. 6Die oren heeft, die hore wat de Geest tot de Gemeenten zegt. 7En schrijf aan den engel der Gemeente, die in Filadelfia is: Dit zegt de Heilige, de Waarachtige, Die den sleutel Davids heeft; Die opent, en niemand sluit, en Hij sluit, en niemand opent: 8Ik weet uw werken; zie, Ik heb een geopende deur voor u gegeven, en niemand kan die sluiten; want gij hebt kleine kracht, en gij hebt Mijn woord bewaard, en hebt Mijn Naam niet verloochend. 9Zie, Ik geef u enigen uit de synagoge des satans, dergenen, die zeggen, dat zij Joden zijn, en zijn het niet, maar liegen; zie, Ik zal maken, dat zij zullen komen, en aanbidden voor uw voeten, en bekennen, dat Ik u liefheb. 10Omdat gij het woord Mijner lijdzaamheid bewaard hebt, zo zal Ik ook u bewaren uit de ure der verzoeking, die over de gehele wereld komen zal, om te verzoeken, die op de aarde wonen. 11Zie, Ik kom haastelijk; houd dat gij hebt, opdat niemand uw kroon neme. 12Die overwint, Ik zal hem maken tot een pilaar in den tempel Mijns Gods, en hij zal niet meer daaruit gaan; en Ik zal op hem schrijven den Naam Mijns Gods, en de naam der stad Mijns Gods, namelijk des nieuwen Jeruzalems, dat uit den hemel van Mijn God afdaalt, en ook Mijn nieuwen Naam. 13Die oren heeft, die hore wat de Geest tot de Gemeenten zegt. 14En schrijf aan den engel van de Gemeente der Laodicensen: Dit zegt de Amen, de trouwe, en waarachtige Getuige, het Begin der schepping Gods: 15Ik weet uw werken, dat gij noch koud zijt, noch heet; och, of gij koud waart, of heet! 16Zo dan, omdat gij lauw zijt, en noch koud noch heet, Ik zal u uit Mijn mond spuwen. 17Want gij zegt: Ik ben rijk, en verrijkt geworden, en heb geens dings gebrek; en gij weet niet, dat gij zijt ellendig, en jammerlijk, en arm, en blind, en naakt. 18Ik raad u dat gij van Mij koopt goud, beproefd komende uit het vuur, opdat gij rijk moogt worden; en witte klederen, opdat gij moogt bekleed worden, en de schande uwer naaktheid niet geopenbaard worde; en zalf uw ogen met ogenzalf, opdat gij zien moogt. 19Zo wie Ik liefheb, die bestraf en kastijd Ik; wees dan ijverig, en bekeer u. 20Zie, Ik sta aan de deur, en Ik klop; indien iemand Mijn stem zal horen, en de deur opendoen, Ik zal tot hem inkomen, en Ik zal met hem avondmaal houden, en hij met Mij. 21Die overwint, Ik zal hem geven met Mij te zitten in Mijn troon, gelijk als Ik overwonnen heb, en ben gezeten met Mijn Vader in Zijn troon. 22Die oren heeft, die hore, wat de Geest tot de Gemeenten zegt.
