1Khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus ra khỏi đền thờ, đương đi, thì môn đồ đến gần để chỉ cho Ngài xem các nhà thuộc về đền thờ. 2Ngài phán rằng: Các ngươi có thấy mọi điều đó chăng? Quả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, đây sẽ không còn một hòn đá nào chồng trên một hòn khác mà không bị đổ xuống. 3Ngài đương ngồi trên núi ô-li-ve, môn đồ tới riêng cùng Ngài, và nói rằng: Xin Chúa phán cho chúng tôi biết lúc nào những sự đó sẽ xảy ra? và có điềm gì chỉ về sự Chúa đến và tận thế. 4Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Hãy giữ, kẻo có kẻ dỗ dành các ngươi. 5Vì nhiều người sẽ mạo danh ta ến mà nói rằng: Ta là Ðấng Christ; và sẽ dỗ dành nhiều người. 6Các ngươi sẽ nghe nói về giặc và tiếng đồn về giặc: hãy giữ mình, đừng bối rối, vì những sự ấy phải đến; song chưa là cuối cùng đâu. 7Dân nầy sẽ dấy lên nghịch cùng dân khác, nước nọ nghịch cùng nước kia; nhiều chỗ sẽ có đói kém và động đất. 8Song mọi điều đó chỉ là đầu sự tai hại. 9Bấy giờ, người ta sẽ nộp các ngươi trong sự hoạn nạn và giết đi; các ngươi sẽ bị mọi dân ghen ghét vì danh ta. 10Khi ấy cũng có nhiều kẻ sẽ sa vào chước cám dỗ, phản nghịch nhau, và ghen ghét nhau. 11Nhiều tiên tri giả sẽ nổi lên và dỗ dành lắm kẻ. 12Lại vì cớ tội ác sẽ thêm nhiều thì lòng yêu mến của phần nhiều người sẽ nguội lần. 13Nhưng kẻ nào bền chí cho đến cuối cùng, thì sẽ được cứu. 14Tin Lành nầy về nước Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ được giảng ra khắp đất, để làm chứng cho muôn dân. Bấy giờ sự cuối cùng sẽ đến. 15Khi các ngươi sẽ thấy sự gớm ghiếc tàn nát lập ra trong nơi thánh, mà đấng tiên tri Ða-ni-ên đã nói (ai đọc phải để ý), 16thì ai ở trong xứ Giu-đê hãy trốn lên núi; 17ai ở trên mái nhà, đừng xuống chuyên của cải trong nhà; 18và ai ở ngoài ruộng, đừng trở về lấy áo mình. 19Ðang lúc đó, khốn khó thay cho đờn bà có mang, và đờn bà cho con bú! 20Hãy cầu nguyện cho các ngươi khỏi trốn tránh nhằm lúc mùa đông hay là ngày Sa-bát; 21vì lúc ấy sẽ có hoạn nạn lớn, đến nỗi từ khi mới có trời đất cho đến bây giờ chưa từng có như vậy, mà sau nầy cũng không hề có nữa. 22Nếu những ngày ấy không giảm bớt, thì chẳng có một người nào được cứu; song vì cớ các ngươi được chọn, thì những ngày ấy sẽ giảm bớt. 23Khi ấy, nếu có ai nói với các ngươi rằng: Kìa Ðấng Christ ở đây hay là: Ở đó, thì đừng tin. 24Vì nhiều christ giả và tiên tri giả sẽ dấy lên, làm những dấu lớn, phép lạ, nếu có thể được thì họ cũng đến dỗ dành chính những người được chọn. 25Nầy, ta đã bảo trước cho các ngươi. 26Vậy nếu người ta nói với các ngươi rằng: Nầy, Ngài ở trong đồng vắng, thì đừng đi đến; nầy, Ngài ở trong nhà thì đừng tin. 27Vì như chớp phát ra từ phương đông, nháng đến phương tây, thì sự Con người đến sẽ cũng thể ấy. 28Nơi nào có xác chết, thì những chim ó sẽ nhóm tại đó. 29Sự tai nạn của những ngày đó vừa mới qua, thì mặt trời liền tối tăm, mặt trăng không sáng, các ngôi sao từ trên trời sa xuống, và thế lực của các từng trời rúng động. 30Khi ấy, điềm Con người sẽ hiện ra ở trên trời, mọi dân tộc dưới đất sẽ đấm ngực, và thấy Con người lấy đại quyền đại vinh ngự trên mây trời mà xuống. 31Ngài sẽ sai thiên sứ mình dùng tiếng kèn rất lớn mà nhóm lại những kẻ đã được lựa chọn của Ngài ở khắp bốn phương, từ cuối phương trời nầy cho đến tận phương kia. 32Hãy nghe lời ví dụ về cây vả, vừa lúc nhành non, lá mới đâm, thì các ngươi biết mùa hạ gần tới. 33Cũng vậy, khi các ngươi thấy mọi điều ấy, khá biết rằng Con người gần đến, Ngài đương ở trước cửa. 34Quả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, dòng dõi nầy chẳng qua trước khi mọi điều nầy chẳng qua trước khi mọi điều kia chưa xảy đến. 35Trời đất sẽ qua, nhưng lời ta nói chẳng bao giờ qua đi. 36Về ngày và giờ đó, chẳng có ai biết chi cả, thiên sứ trên trời hay là Con cũng vậy, song chỉ một mình Cha biết thôi. 37Trong đời Nô-ê thể nào, khi Con người đến cũng thể ấy. 38Vì trong những ngày trước nước lụt, người ta ăn, uống, cưới, gả như thường cho đến ngày Nô-ê vào tàu, 39và người ta không ngờ chi hết cho đến khi nước lụt tới mà đùa đem đi hết thảy, khi Con người đến cũng như vậy. 40Lúc ấy, sẽ có hai người nam ở trong một đồng ruộng, một người được đem đi, còn một người bị để lại; 41và có hai người nữ đương xay cối, một người được đem đi, còn một người bi để lại. 42Vậy hãy tỉnh thức, vì các ngươi không biết ngày nào Chúa mình sẽ đến. 43Hãy biết rõ, nếu người chủ nhà đã hay canh nào kẻ trộm sẽ đến, thì tỉnh thức, không để cho đào ngạch nhà mình. 44Vậy thì các ngươi cũng hãy chực cho sẵn, vì Con người sẽ đến trong giờ các ngươi không ngờ. 45Ai là đầy tớ trung tín và khôn ngoan, mà người chủ đặt cai trị đầy tớ mình, đặng cho đồ ăn đúng giờ? 46Phước cho đầy tớ đó, khi chủ đến thấy làm như vậy! 47Quả thật, ta nói cùng các ngươi, chủ sẽ đặt kẻ ấy coi sóc cả gia tài mình. 48Nếu, trái lại, là một đầy tớ xấu, nó nghĩ thầm rằng: Chủ ta đến chậm, 49bèn đánh kẻ cùng làm việc với mình, và ăn uống với phường say rượu, 50thì chủ nó sẽ đến trong ngày nó không ngờ và giờ nó không biết. 51Chủ sẽ đánh xé xương và định phần nó đồng với kẻ giả hình. Ðó là nơi sẽ có khóc lóc và nghiến răng.
1Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. 2But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.” 3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. 8But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. 9Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake. 10Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. 11Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. 12Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. 14This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house. 18Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes. 19But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! 20Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, 21for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. 22Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened. 23“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. 24For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25“Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. 27For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together. 29But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; 30and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. 32“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. 33Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Most certainly I tell you, this generationwill not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 36But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven,but my Father only. 37“As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, 39and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left; 41two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left. 42Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. 45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes. 47Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has. 48But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’ 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards, 50the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it, 51and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
1En Jezus ging uit en vertrok van den tempel; en Zijn discipelen kwamen bij Hem, om Hem de gebouwen des tempels te tonen. 2En Jezus zeide tot hen: Ziet gij niet al deze dingen? Voorwaar zeg Ik: Hier zal niet een steen op den anderen steen gelaten worden, die niet afgebroken zal worden. 3En als Hij op den Olijfberg gezeten was, gingen de discipelen tot Hem alleen, zeggende: Zeg ons, wanneer zullen deze dingen zijn, en welk zal het teken zijn van Uw toekomst, en van de voleinding der wereld? 4En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Ziet toe, dat u niemand verleide. 5Want velen zullen komen onder Mijn Naam, zeggende: Ik ben de Christus; en zij zullen velen verleiden. 6En gij zult horen van oorlogen, en geruchten van oorlogen; ziet toe, wordt niet verschrikt; want al die dingen moeten geschieden, maar nog is het einde niet. 7Want het ene volk zal tegen het andere volk opstaan, en het ene koninkrijk tegen het andere koninkrijk; en er zullen zijn hongersnoden, en pestilentien, en aardbevingen in verscheidene plaatsen. 8Doch al die dingen zijn maar een beginsel der smarten. 9Alsdan zullen zij u overleveren in verdrukking, en zullen u doden, en gij zult gehaat worden van alle volken, om Mijns Naams wil. 10En dan zullen er velen geergerd worden, en zullen elkander overleveren, en elkander haten. 11En vele valse profeten zullen opstaan, en zullen er velen verleiden. 12En omdat de ongerechtigheid vermenigvuldigd zal worden, zo zal de liefde van velen verkouden. 13Maar wie volharden zal tot het einde, die zal zalig worden. 14En dit Evangelie des Koninkrijks zal in de gehele wereld gepredikt worden tot een getuigenis allen volken; en dan zal het einde komen. 15Wanneer gij dan zult zien den gruwel der verwoesting, waarvan gesproken is door Daniel, de profeet, staande in de heilige plaats; (die het leest, die merke daarop!) 16Dat alsdan, die in Judea zijn, vlieden op de bergen; 17Die op het dak is, kome niet af, om iets uit zijn huis weg te nemen; 18En die op den akker is, kere niet weder terug, om zijn klederen weg te nemen. 19Maar wee de bevruchten, en den zogenden vrouwen in die dagen! 20Doch bidt, dat uw vlucht niet geschiede des winters, noch op een sabbat. 21Want alsdan zal grote verdrukking wezen, hoedanige niet is geweest van het begin der wereld tot nu toe, en ook niet zijn zal. 22En zo die dagen niet verkort werden, geen vlees zou behouden worden; maar om der uitverkorenen wil zullen die dagen verkort worden. 23Alsdan, zo iemand tot ulieden zal zeggen: Ziet, hier is de Christus, of daar, gelooft het niet. 24Want er zullen valse christussen en valse profeten opstaan, en zullen grote tekenen en wonderheden doen, alzo dat zij (indien het mogelijk ware) ook de uitverkorenen zouden verleiden. 25Ziet, Ik heb het u voorzegd! 26Zo zij dan tot u zullen zeggen: Ziet, hij is in de woestijn; gaat niet uit; Ziet, hij is in de binnenkameren; gelooft het niet. 27Want gelijk de bliksem uitgaat van het oosten, en schijnt tot het westen, alzo zal ook de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen wezen. 28Want alwaar het dode lichaam zal zijn, daar zullen de arenden vergaderd worden. 29En terstond na de verdrukking dier dagen, zal de zon verduisterd worden, en de maan zal haar schijnsel niet geven, en de sterren zullen van den hemel vallen, en de krachten der hemelen zullen bewogen worden. 30En alsdan zal in den hemel verschijnen het teken van den Zoon des mensen; en dan zullen al de geslachten der aarde wenen, en zullen den Zoon des mensen zien, komende op de wolken des hemels, met grote kracht en heerlijkheid. 31En Hij zal Zijn engelen uitzenden met een bazuin van groot geluid, en zij zullen Zijn uitverkorenen bijeenvergaderen uit de vier winden, van het ene uiterste der hemelen tot het andere uiterste derzelve. 32En leert van den vijgeboom deze gelijkenis: wanneer zijn tak nu teder wordt, en de bladeren uitspruiten, zo weet gij, dat de zomer nabij is. 33Alzo ook gijlieden, wanneer gij al deze dingen zult zien, zo weet, dat het nabij is, voor de deur. 34Voorwaar, Ik zeg u: Dit geslacht zal geenszins voorbijgaan, totdat al deze dingen zullen geschied zijn. 35De hemel en de aarde zullen voorbijgaan, maar Mijn woorden zullen geenszins voorbijgaan. 36Doch van dien dag en die ure weet niemand, ook niet de engelen der hemelen, dan Mijn Vader alleen. 37En gelijk de dagen van Noach waren, alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van den Zoon des mensen. 38Want gelijk zij waren in de dagen voor den zondvloed, etende en drinkende, trouwende en ten huwelijk uitgevende, tot den dag toe, in welken Noach in de ark ging; 39En bekenden het niet, totdat de zondvloed kwam, en hen allen wegnam; alzo zal ook zijn de toekomst van de Zoon des mensen. 40Alsdan zullen er twee op den akker zijn, de een zal aangenomen, en de ander zal verlaten worden. 41Er zullen twee vrouwen malen in den molen, de ene zal aangenomen, en de andere zal verlaten worden. 42Waakt dan; want gij weet niet, in welke ure uw Heere komen zal. 43Maar weet dit, dat zo de heer des huizes geweten had, in welke nachtwake de dief komen zou, hij zou gewaakt hebben, en zou zijn huis niet hebben laten doorgraven. 44Daarom, zijt ook gij bereid; want in welke ure gij het niet meent, zal de Zoon des mensen komen. 45Wie is dan de getrouwe en voorzichtige dienstknecht, denwelken zijn heer over zijn dienstboden gesteld heeft, om hunlieder hun voedsel te geven ter rechter tijd? 46Zalig is die dienstknecht, welken zijn heer, komende, zal vinden alzo doende. 47Voorwaar, Ik zeg u, dat hij hem zal zetten over al zijn goederen. 48Maar zo die kwade dienstknecht in zijn hart zou zeggen: Mijn heer vertoeft te komen; 49En zou beginnen zijn mededienstknechten te slaan, en te eten en te drinken met de dronkaards; 50Zo zal de heer van dezen dienstknecht komen ten dage, in welken hij hem niet verwacht, en ter ure, die hij niet weet; 51En zal hem afscheiden, en zijn deel zetten met de geveinsden; daar zal wening zijn en knersing der tanden.
