1Phải, trái tim tôi run sợ vì sự đó, Nó nhảy động dời khỏi chỗ nó. 2Khá nghe, khá nghe giọng vang dầy của tiếng Ngài, Và tiếng ầm ầm ra khỏi miệng Ngài! 3Ngài khiến nó dội dưới các từng trời, Và chớp nhoáng Ngài chiếu đến cùng trái đất. 4Kế liền có tiếng ầm ầm, Ngài phát tiếng oai nghi và sấm rền ra, Và khi nổi tiếng Ngài lên, thì không cầm giữ chớp nhoáng lại. 5Ðức Chúa Trời phát tiếng và sấm rền ra lạ kỳ; Ngài là những công việc lớn lao mà chúng ta hiểu không nổi? 6Vì Ngài phán với tuyết rằng: Hãy sa xuống đất! Và cũng phán vậy cho trận mưa mây và mưa lớn. 7Ngài niêm phong tay của mọi người, Ðể mọi người Ngài đã dựng nên biết được công việc của Ngài. 8Khi ấy các thú vật rừng rút trong hang nó, Và ở trong hầm của chúng nó. 9Từ các lầu các phương nam bão tuôn tới, Và gió bắc dẫn lạnh lẽo đến. 10Nước đá thành ra bởi hơi thở của Ðức Chúa Trời; Bề rộng của nước đông đặc lại. 11Ngài chứa nước trong mây, Và giăng ra các mây chớp nhoáng của Ngài; 12Nhờ Ngài dẫn dắt, nó bay vận khắp tứ phương, Ðặng làm xong công việc mà Ngài phán biểu nó làm trên khắp trái đất. 13Ngài sai mây hoặc để giáng họa, hoặc để tưới đất, Hoặc để làm ơn cho loài người. 14Hỡi Gióp, hãy nghe lời nầy, Khá đứng yên, suy nghĩ về các việc diệu kỳ của Ðức Chúa Trời. 15Ông có biết cách nào Ðức Chúa Trời sắp đặt các việc ấy chăng? Cách nào Ngài chiếu lòa chớp nhoáng của mây Ngài chăng? 16Ông có biết mây cân bình sao chăng? Có hiểu công việc diệu kỳ của Ðấng có trí huệ trọn vẹn sao chăng? 17Có biết cớ sao quần áo ông nóng, Khi Ngài lấy gió nam mà làm cho trái đất được an tịnh? 18Ông có thế trải bầu trời ra với Ðức Chúa Trời chăng? Nó vốn vững chắc như một tấm kính đúc. 19Hãy dạy cho chúng tôi biết điều chúng tôi phải thưa cùng Ngài; Vì tại sự dốt nát, chúng tôi chẳng biết bày lời gì với Ngài. 20Người ta há sẽ thuật với Ðức Chúa Trời rằng tôi muốn thưa với Ngài sao? Nếu ai nói với Ngài, quả hẳn sẽ bị nuốt đi. 21Bây giờ, người ta không thấy sự sáng chói lòa, nó đã ẩn trong mây; Nhưng gió thổi qua xô mây đi và trời trong trẻo lại. 22Ráng vàng từ phương Bắc đến; Nơi Ðức Chúa Trời có oai nghiêm đáng sợ thay! 23Luận về Ðấng Toàn năng, ta không tìm thấy đến Ngài được: Ngài vốn rất quyền năng, rất chánh trực và công bình cực điểm, không hề hà hiếp ai. 24Bởi cớ ấy nên loài người kính sợ Ngài; Ngài không đoái đến kẻ nào tưởng mình có lòng khôn ngoan.
1“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place. 2Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth. 3He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth. 4After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard. 5God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend. 6For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth;’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain. 7He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it. 8Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens. 9Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north. 10By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen. 11Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning. 12It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world, 13Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come. 14“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. 15Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine? 16Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge? 17You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind? 18Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror? 19Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness. 20Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up? 21Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them. 22Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty. 23We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress. 24Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
1Ook beeft hierover mijn hart, en springt op uit zijn plaats. 2Hoort met aandacht de beweging Zijner stem, en het geluid, dat uit Zijn mond uitgaat! 3Dat zendt Hij rechtuit onder den gansen hemel, en Zijn licht over de einden der aarde. 4Daarna brult Hij met de stem; Hij dondert met de stem Zijner hoogheid, en vertrekt die dingen niet, als Zijn stem zal gehoord worden. 5God dondert met Zijn stem zeer wonderlijk; Hij doet grote dingen, en wij begrijpen ze niet. 6Want Hij zegt tot de sneeuw: Wees op de aarde; en tot den plasregens des regens; dan is er de plasregen Zijner sterke regenen. 7Dan zegelt Hij de hand van ieder mens toe, opdat Hij kenne al de lieden Zijns werks. 8En het gedierte gaat in de loerplaatsen, en blijft in zijn holen. 9Uit de binnenkamer komt de wervelwind, en van de verstrooiende winden de koude. 10Door zijn geblaas geeft God de vorst, zodat de brede wateren verstijfd worden. 11Ook vermoeit Hij de dikke wolken door klaarheid; Hij verstrooit de wolk Zijns lichts. 12Die keert zich dan naar Zijn wijzen raad door ommegangen, dat zij doen al wat Hij ze gebiedt, op het vlakke der wereld, op de aarde. 13Hetzij dat Hij die tot een roede, of tot Zijn land, of tot weldadigheid beschikt. 14Neem dit, o Job, ter ore; sta, en aanmerk de wonderen Gods. 15Weet gij, wanneer God over dezelve orde stelt, en het licht Zijner wolk laat schijnen? 16Hebt gij wetenschap van de opwegingen der dikke wolken; de wonderheden Desgenen, Die volmaakt is in wetenschappen? 17Hoe uw klederen warm worden, als Hij de aarde stil maakt uit het zuiden? 18Hebt gij met Hem de hemelen uitgespannen, die vast zijn, als een gegoten spiegel? 19Onderricht ons, wat wij Hem zeggen zullen; want wij zullen niets ordentelijk voorstellen kunnen vanwege de duisternis. 20Zal het Hem verteld worden, als ik zo zou spreken? Denkt iemand dat, gewisselijk, hij zal verslonden worden. 21En nu ziet men het licht niet als het helder is in den hemel, als de wind doorgaat, en dien zuivert; 22Als van het noorden het goud komt; maar bij God is een vreselijke majesteit! 23Den Almachtige, Dien kunnen wij niet uitvinden; Hij is groot van kracht; doch door gericht en grote gerechtigheid verdrukt Hij niet. 24Daarom vreze Hem de lieden; Hij ziet geen wijzen van harte aan.
