1At ngayon, Oh kayong mga saserdote, ang utos na ito'y sa inyo. 2Kung hindi ninyo didinggin, at kung hindi ninyo ilalagak sa inyong puso upang bigyang kaluwalhatian ang aking pangalan, sabi ng Panginoon ng mga hukbo, magpapasapit nga ako ng sumpa sa inyo, at aking susumpain ang inyong kapalaran; oo, akin na silang sinumpa, sapagka't hindi ninyo inilagak sa inyong puso. 3Narito, aking sisirain ang inyong binhi, at magsasabog ako ng dumi sa harap ng inyong mga mukha, sa makatuwid baga'y ng dumi ng inyong mga kapistahan; at kayo'y pawang ilalabas na kasama niyaon. 4At inyong malalaman na aking ipinasugo ang utos na ito sa inyo, upang ang aking tipan kay Levi ay manatili, sabi ng Panginoon ng mga hukbo. 5Ang aking tipan ay buhay at kapayapaan sa kaniya; at aking mga ibinigay sa kaniya upang siya'y matakot; at siya'y natakot sa akin, at siya'y nagpakababa sa aking pangalan. 6Ang kautusan tungkol sa katotohanan ay nasa kaniyang bibig, at ang kalikuan ay hindi nasumpungan sa kaniyang mga labi: siya'y lumakad na kasama ko sa kapayapaan at katuwiran, at inilayo sa kasamaan ang marami. 7Sapagka't ang mga labi ng saserdote ay dapat mangagingat ng kaalaman, at kanilang marapat hanapin ang kautusan sa kaniyang bibig; sapagka't siya ang sugo ng Panginoon ng mga hukbo. 8Nguni't kayo'y nagsilihis sa daan; inyong itinisod ang marami sa kautusan; inyong sinira ang tipan ni Levi, sabi ng Panginoon ng mga hukbo. 9Kaya't kayo'y ginawa ko namang hamak at pinakamababa sa harap ng buong bayan, ayon sa hindi ninyo pagkaingat ng aking mga daan, kundi tumangi kayo ng mga pagkatao sa kautusan. 10Wala baga tayong lahat na isang ama? hindi baga isang Dios ang lumalang sa atin? bakit tayo nagsisigawa ng paglililo bawa't isa laban sa kaniyang kapatid, na nilalapastangan ang tipan ng ating mga magulang? 11Ang Juda'y gumawa ng paglililo, at ang kasuklamsuklam ay nagawa sa Israel at sa Jerusalem; sapagka't nilapastangan ng Juda ang santuario ng Panginoon, na kaniyang iniibig, at nagasawa sa anak na babae ng ibang dios. 12Ihihiwalay ng Panginoon ang taong gumawa nito, ang gumigising at ang sumasagot, mula sa mga tolda ng Jacob, at ang naghahandog ng handog sa Panginoon ng mga hukbo. 13At ito'y muli ninyong ginagawa: inyong tinatakpan ang dambana ng Panginoon ng mga luha, ng tangis, at ng buntong hininga, na anopa't hindi na niya nililingap ang handog ni tinatanggap man sa inyong kamay na may lugod. 14Gayon ma'y inyong sinasabi, Bakit? Sapagka't ang Panginoon ay naging saksi sa iyo at sa asawa ng iyong kabataan, na ginawan mo ng paglililo, bagaman siya'y iyong kasama, at siyang asawa ng iyong tipan. 15At di baga siya'y gumawa ng isa, bagaman siya'y may labis na Espiritu? At bakit isa? Kaniyang hinanap ang lahing maka Dios. Kaya't ingatan ninyo ang inyong kalooban, at huwag nang manglilo laban sa asawa ng kaniyang kabataan. 16Sapagka't aking kinapopootan ang paghihiwalay, sabi ng Panginoon, ng Dios ng Israel, at siya na nagtatakip ng kaniyang damit na may karahasan, sabi ng Panginoon ng mga hukbo: kaya't ingatan ninyo ang inyong kalooban na huwag kayong magsalita na may paglililo. 17Inyong niyamot ang Panginoon ng inyong mga salita. Gayon ma'y inyong sinasabi, Sa ano namin niyamot siya? Na inyong sinasabi, Bawa't gumagawa ng kasamaan ay mabuti sa paningin ng Panginoon, at kaniyang kinalulugdan sila; o saan nandoon ang Dios ng kahatulan.
1“Now, you priests, this commandment is for you. 2If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies, “then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart. 3Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it. 4You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies. 5“My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name. 6The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity. 7For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of Armies. 8But you have turned aside out of the way. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies. 9“Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law. 10Don’t we all have one father? Hasn’t one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers? 11Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god. 12Yahweh will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Armies. 13This again you do: you cover the altar of Yahweh with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand. 14Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant. 15Did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. 16For I hate divorce”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously. 17You have wearied Yahweh with your words. Yet you say, ‘How have we wearied him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of Yahweh, and he delights in them;’ or ‘Where is the God of justice?’
1En nu, gij priesters! tot u wordt dit gebod gezonden; 2Indien gij het niet zult horen, en indien gij het niet zult ter harte nemen, om Mijn Naam eer te geven, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, zo zal Ik den vloek onder u zenden, en Ik zal uw zegeningen vervloeken; ja, Ik heb ook alrede elkeen derzelve vervloekt, omdat gij het niet ter harte neemt. 3Ziet, Ik zal u het zaad verderven; en Ik zal drek op uw aangezichten strooien, den drek uwer feesten, zodat men u met denzelven wegnemen zal. 4Dan zult gij weten, dat Ik dit gebod tot u gezonden heb; opdat Mijn verbond met Levi zij, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen. 5Mijn verbond met hem was het leven, en de vrede; en Ik gaf hem die tot een vreze; en hij vreesde Mij, en hij werd om Mijns Naams wil verschrikt. 6De wet der waarheid was in zijn mond, en er werd geen onrecht in zijn lippen gevonden; hij wandelde met Mij in vrede en in rechtmatigheid, en hij bekeerde er velen van ongerechtigheid. 7Want de lippen der priesters zullen de wetenschap bewaren, en men zal uit zijn mond de wet zoeken; want hij is een engel des HEEREN der heirscharen. 8Maar gij zijt van den weg afgeweken, gij hebt er velen doen struikelen in de wet, gij hebt het verbond met Levi verdorven, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen. 9Daarom heb Ik ook u verachtelijk en onwaard gemaakt voor het ganse volk, dewijl gij Mijn wegen niet houdt, maar het aangezicht aanneemt in de wet. 10Hebben wij niet allen een Vader? Heeft niet een God ons geschapen? Waarom handelen wij dan trouwelooslijk de een tegen den ander, ontheiligende het verbond onzer vaderen? 11Juda handelt trouwelooslijk, en er wordt een gruwel gedaan in Israel, en in Jeruzalem; want Juda ontheiligt de heiligheid des HEEREN, welke Hij liefheeft; want hij heeft de dochters eens vreemden gods getrouwd. 12De HEERE zal den man, die zulks doet, uitroeien uit de hutten van Jakob, dien, die waakt, en dien, die antwoordt, en die den HEERE der heirscharen spijsoffer brengt. 13Dit tweede doet gijlieden ook, dat gij het altaar des HEEREN bedekt met tranen, met wening en met zuchting; zodat Hij niet meer het spijsoffer aanschouwen, noch met welgevallen van uw hand ontvangen wil. 14Gij nu zegt: Waarom? Daarom dat de HEERE een Getuige geweest is, tussen u en tussen de huisvrouw uwer jeugd, met dewelke gij trouwelooslijk handelt; daar zij toch uw gezellin, en de huisvrouw uws verbonds is. 15Heeft Hij niet maar een gemaakt, hoewel Hij des geestes overig had? En waarom maar dien enen? Hij zocht een zaad Gods. Daarom, wacht u met uw geest, en dat niemand trouwelooslijk handele tegen de huisvrouw zijner jeugd. 16Want de HEERE, de God Israels, zegt, dat Hij het verlaten haat, alhoewel hij den wrevel bedekt met Zijn kleed, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen; daarom wacht u met uw geest, dat gij niet trouwelooslijk handelt. 17Gij vermoeit den HEERE met uw woorden; nog zegt gij: Waarmede vermoeien wij Hem? Daarmede, dat gij zegt: Al wie kwaad doet, is goed in de ogen des HEEREN, en Hij heeft lust aan zodanigen; of, waar is de God des oordeels?
