1Si Pablo, na apostol ni Jesucristo sa pamamagitan ng kalooban ng Dios, at ang kapatid nating si Timoteo, 2Sa mga banal at tapat na mga kapatid kay Cristo, na nangasa sa Colosas: Sumainyo nawa ang biyaya at kapayapaang mula sa Dios na ating Ama. 3Nagpapasalamat kami sa Dios, na Ama ng ating Panginoong Jesucristo, na kayo'y laging idinadalangin, 4Nang nabalitaan namin ng inyong pananampalataya kay Cristo Jesus, at ang pagibig ninyo sa lahat ng mga banal, 5Dahil sa pagasa na natataan para sa inyo sa langit, na nang una ay inyong narinig sa salita ng katotohanan ng evangelio, 6Na ito'y dumating sa inyo; gayon din naman kung paano sa buong sanglibutan na namumunga at lumalaganap, gaya rin naman sa inyo, mula nang araw na inyong marinig at maalaman ang biyaya ng Dios sa katotohanan; 7Ayon sa inyong natutuhan kay Epafras na aming minamahal na kasamang lingkod, na isang tapat na ministro ni Cristo, sa ganang atin; 8Na siya rin namang sa amin ay nagbalita ng inyong pagibig sa Espiritu. 9Dahil dito'y kami naman, mula nang araw na aming marinig ito, ay hindi kami nagsisitigil ng pananalangin at ng paghingi na patungkol sa inyo, upang kayo'y puspusin ng kaalaman ng kaniyang kalooban, sa buong karunungan at pagkaunawa ayon sa espiritu, 10Upang kayo'y magsilakad ng nararapat sa Panginoon, sa buong ikalulugod niya, at magsipamunga sa bawa't gawang mabuti, at magsilago sa kaalaman ng Dios; 11Na kayo'y palakasin ng buong kapangyarihan, ayon sa kalakasan ng kaniyang kaluwalhatian, sa buong pagtitiis at pagpapahinuhod na may galak; 12Na nagpapasalamat sa Ama, na nagpaging dapat sa atin upang makabahagi sa mana ng mga banal sa kaliwanagan; 13Na siyang nagligtas sa atin sa kapangyarihan ng kadiliman, at naglipat sa atin sa kaharian ng Anak ng kaniyang pagibig; 14Na siyang kinaroroonan ng ating katubusan, na siyang kapatawaran ng ating mga kasalanan: 15Na siya ang larawan ng Dios na di nakikita, ang panganay ng lahat ng mga nilalang; 16Sapagka't sa kaniya nilalang ang lahat na mga bagay, sa sangkalangitan at sa sangkalupaan, na mga bagay na nakikita at ang mga bagay na di nakikita, maging mga luklukan o mga pagsakop o mga pamunuan o mga kapangyarihan; lahat ng mga bagay ay nilalang sa pamamagitan niya at ukol sa kaniya; 17At siya'y una sa lahat ng mga bagay, at ang lahat ng mga bagay ay nangabubuhay dahil sa kaniya. 18At siya ang ulo ng katawan, sa makatuwid baga'y ng iglesia; na siya ang pasimula, ang panganay sa mga patay; upang sa lahat ng mga bagay, ay magkaroon siya ng kadakilaan. 19Sapagka't minagaling ng Ama na ang buong kapuspusan ay manahanan sa kaniya; 20At sa pamamagitan niya ay pakipagkasunduin sa kaniya ang lahat ng mga bagay, na pinapayapa niya sa pamamagitan ng dugo ng kaniyang krus; sa pamamagitan niya, sinasabi ko, maging mga bagay sa kalupaan, o mga bagay sa sangkalangitan. 21At kayo, nang nakaraang panahon ay nangahihiwalay at mga kaaway sa inyong pagiisip sa inyong mga gawang masasama. 22Gayon ma'y pinakipagkasundo niya ngayon sa katawan ng kaniyang laman, sa pamamagitan ng kamatayan, upang kayo'y iharap na mga banal at walang dungis at walang kapintasan sa harapan niya: 23Kung tunay na kayo'y mamamalagi sa pananampalataya, na nababaon at matitibay, at di makilos sa pagasa sa evangelio na inyong narinig, na ipinangaral sa lahat ng mga nilalang sa silong ng langit; na dito akong si Pablo ay ginawang ministro. 24Ngayo'y nagagalak ako sa aking mga hirap dahil sa inyo, at aking pinupunan sa akin ang kakulangan ng mga hirap ni Cristo sa aking laman dahil sa kaniyang katawan, na siyang iglesia; 25Na ako'y ginawang ministro nito, ayon sa pamamahala na mula sa Dios na ibinigay sa akin para sa inyo upang maipahayag ang salita ng Dios, 26Maging ang hiwaga na inilihim sa lahat ng panahon at lahi: datapuwa't ngayo'y ipinahayag sa kaniyang mga banal, 27Na sa kanila'y minagaling ng Dios na ipakilala kung ano ang mga kayamanan ng kaluwalhatian ng hiwagang ito sa gitna ng mga Gentil, na ito'y si Cristo na nasa inyo, na pagasa ninyo sa kaluwalhatian: 28Na siya naming inihahayag, na pinaaalalahanan ang bawa't tao at tinuturuan ang bawa't tao, sa buong karunungan, upang maiharap naming sakdal kay Cristo ang bawa't tao; 29Na dahil dito'y nagpapagal din naman ako, na nagpipilit ayon sa kaniyang paggawa, na siyang sa akin ay gumagawa na may kapangyarihan.
1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints, 5because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News, 6which has come to you; even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; 7even as you learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, 8who also declared to us your love in the Spirit. 9For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy; 12giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 13who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love; 14in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins; 15who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things are held together. 18He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him; 20and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things on the earth, or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross. 21You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works, 22yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him, 23if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, was made a servant. 24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly; 25of which I was made a servant, according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you, to fulfill the word of God, 26the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints, 27to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory; 28whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus; 29for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.
1Paulus, een apostel van Jezus Christus, door de wil van God, en Timotheus, de broeder, 2Den heiligen en gelovige broederen in Christus, die te Kolosse zijn: genade zij u en vrede van God, onzen Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 3Wij danken den God en Vader van onzen Heere Jezus Christus, altijd voor u biddende; 4Alzo wij van uw geloof in Christus Jezus gehoord hebben, en van de liefde, die gij hebt tot alle heiligen. 5Om de hoop, die u weggelegd is in de hemelen, van welke gij te voren gehoord hebt, door het Woord der waarheid, namelijk des Evangelies; 6Hetwelk tot u gekomen is, gelijk ook in de gehele wereld, en het brengt vruchten voort, gelijk ook onder u, van dien dag af dat gij gehoord hebt, en de genade Gods in waarheid bekend hebt. 7Gelijk gij ook geleerd hebt van Epafras, onzen geliefden mededienstknecht, dewelke een getrouw dienaar van Christus is voor u; 8Die ons ook verklaard heeft uw liefde in den Geest. 9Waarom ook wij, van dien dag af dat wij het gehoord hebben, niet ophouden voor u te bidden en te begeren, dat gij moogt vervuld worden met de kennis van Zijn wil, in alle wijsheid en geestelijk verstand; 10Opdat gij moogt wandelen waardiglijk den Heere, tot alle behagelijkheid, in alle goede werken vrucht dragende, en wassende in de kennis van God; 11Met alle kracht bekrachtigd zijnde, naar de sterkte Zijner heerlijkheid, tot alle lijdzaamheid en lankmoedigheid, met blijdschap; 12Dankende den Vader, Die ons bekwaam gemaakt heeft, om deel te hebben in de erve der heiligen in het licht; 13Die ons getrokken heeft uit de macht der duisternis, en overgezet heeft in het Koninkrijk van den Zoon Zijner liefde; 14In Denwelke wij de verlossing hebben door Zijn bloed, namelijk de vergeving der zonden; 15Dewelke het Beeld is des onzienlijken Gods, de Eerstgeborene aller kreaturen. 16Want door Hem zijn alle dingen geschapen, die in de hemelen en die op de aarde zijn, die zienlijk en die onzienlijk zijn, hetzij tronen, hetzij heerschappijen, hetzij overheden, hetzij machten; alle dingen zijn door Hem en tot Hem geschapen; 17En Hij is voor alle dingen, en alle dingen bestaan te zamen door Hem; 18En Hij is het Hoofd des lichaams, namelijk der Gemeente, Hij, Die het Begin is, de Eerstgeborene uit de doden, opdat Hij in allen de Eerste zou zijn. 19Want het is des Vaders welbehagen geweest, dat in Hem al de volheid wonen zou; 20En dat Hij, door Hem vrede gemaakt hebbende door het bloed Zijns kruises, door Hem, zeg ik, alle dingen verzoenen zou tot Zichzelven, hetzij de dingen, die op de aarde, hetzij de dingen die in de hemelen zijn. 21En Hij heeft u, die eertijds vervreemd waart, en vijanden door het verstand in de boze werken, nu ook verzoend, 22In het lichaam Zijns vleses, door den dood, opdat Hij u zou heilig en onberispelijk en onbeschuldiglijk voor Zich stellen; 23Indien gij maar blijft in het geloof, gefondeerd en vast, en niet bewogen wordt van de hope des Evangelies, dat gij gehoord hebt, hetwelk gepredikt is onder al de kreature, die onder den hemel is; van hetwelk ik Paulus een dienaar geworden ben; 24Die mij nu verblijd in mijn lijden voor u, en vervulle in mijn vlees de overblijfselen van de verdrukkingen van Christus, voor Zijn lichaam, hetwelk is de Gemeente; 25Welker dienaar ik geworden ben, naar de bedeling van God, die mij gegeven is aan u, om te vervullen het Woord Gods; 26Namelijk de verborgenheid, die verborgen is geweest van alle eeuwen en van alle geslachten, maar nu geopenbaard is aan Zijn heiligen; 27Aan wie God heeft willen bekend maken, welke zij de rijkdom der heerlijkheid dezer verborgenheid onder de heidenen, welke is Christus onder u, de Hoop der heerlijkheid; 28Denwelken wij verkondigen, vermanende een iegelijk mens, en lerende een iegelijk mens in alle wijsheid, opdat wij zouden een iegelijk mens volmaakt stellen in Christus Jezus; 29Waartoe ik ook arbeide, strijdende naar Zijn werking, die in mij werkt met kracht.
