1Ikaw ay matuwid, Oh Panginoon, nang ako'y makipagtalo sa iyo; gayon ma'y makikipagmatuwiranan ako sa iyo: bakit gumiginhawa ang lakad ng masama? bakit nangatitiwasay silang lahat na nagsisigawa ng may lubhang kataksilan? 2Iyong itinanim sila, oo, sila'y nangagkaugat; nagsisitubo, oo, sila'y nangagbubunga: ikaw ay malapit sa kanilang bibig, at malayo sa kanilang mga puso. 3Nguni't ikaw, Oh Panginoon, nakakakilala sa akin; iyong nakikita ako, at tinatarok mo ang aking puso: itaboy mo silang gaya ng mga tupa sa patayan, at ihanda mo sila sa kaarawan ng pagpatay. 4Hanggang kailan tatangis ang lupain, at matutuyo ang mga damo sa buong lupain? dahil sa kasamaan nila na nagsisitahan doon, nilipol ang mga hayop, at ang mga ibon; sapagka't kanilang sinabi, Hindi niya makikita ang ating huling kawakasan. 5Kung ikaw ay tumakbo na kasama ng nangaglalakad, at kanilang pinagod ka, paano ngang makikipagunahan ka sa mga kabayo? at bagaman sa lupain ng kapayapaan ay tiwasay ka, gayon ma'y paano ang gagawin mo sa kapalaluan ng Jordan? 6Sapagka't ang iyong mga kapatid man at ang sangbahayan ng iyong magulang, ay nagsigawa ring may kataksilan sa iyo; nagsihiyaw rin ng malakas sa hulihan mo: huwag mong paniwalaan sila, bagaman sila'y nangagsasalita ng mga mabuting salita sa iyo. 7Aking pinabayaan ang aking bahay, aking itinakuwil ang aking mana; aking ibinigay ang giliw na sinta ng aking kaluluwa sa kamay ng kaniyang mga kaaway. 8Sa akin ang mana ko ay naging parang leon sa gubat: kaniyang inilakas ang kaniyang tinig laban sa akin; kaya't aking ipinagtanim siya. 9Ang akin bagang mana sa akin ay naging parang mangdadagit na ibong batikbatik? ang mga mangdadagit na ibon baga ay laban sa kaniya sa palibot? kayo'y magsiyaon, inyong pagpulungin ang lahat na hayop sa parang, inyong dalhin sila rito upang magsipanakmal. 10Sinira ng maraming pastor ang aking ubasan, kanilang niyapakan ng paa ang aking bahagi, kanilang ginawa ang aking mahalagang bahagi na ilang na sira. 11Kanilang ginawa, itong isang kagibaan; tumatangis sa akin, palibhasa'y sira; ang buong lupain ay nasira, sapagka't walang taong gumugunita. 12Mga manglilipol ay nagsidating sa lahat na luwal na kaitaasan sa ilang: sapagka't ang tabak ng Panginoon ay nananakmal mula sa isang dulo ng lupain hanggang sa kabilang dulo ng lupain walang taong may kapayapaan. 13Sila'y nangaghasik ng trigo, at nagsiani ng mga tinik: sila'y nangagpakahirap, at walang pinakikinabang: at kayo'y mangapapahiya sa inyong mga gawa, dahil sa mabangis na galit ng Panginoon. 14Ganito ang sabi ng Panginoon laban sa lahat na masama kong kapuwa, na nagsisigalaw ng mana sa aking bayang Israel, Narito, akin silang bubunutin sa kanilang lupain, at aking bubunutin ang sangbahayan ni Juda sa gitna nila. 15At mangyayari, na pagkatapos na aking mabunot sila, ako'y babalik at maaawa sa kanila; at aking ibabalik sila uli, bawa't tao ay sa kaniyang mana, at bawa't tao ay sa kaniyang lupain. 16At mangyayari, kung kanilang matutuhang masikap ang mga lakad ng aking bayan, ang pagsumpa sa pangalan ko, Buhay ang Panginoon; sa makatuwid baga'y gaya ng kanilang itinuro sa bayan ko na pagsumpa sa pangalan ni Baal: ay mangatatayo nga sila sa gitna ng aking bayan. 17Nguni't kung hindi nila didinggin, akin ngang bubunutin ang bansang yaon, na bubunutin at lilipulin sabi ng Panginoon.
1You are righteous, Yahweh, when I contend with you; yet I would reason the cause with you: why does the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they at ease who deal very treacherously? 2You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; they grow, yes, they produce fruit: you are near in their mouth, and far from their heart. 3But you, Yahweh, know me; you see me, and try my heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter. 4How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? for the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end. 5If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? and though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan? 6For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; even they have cried aloud after you: don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you. 7I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. 8My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest: she has uttered her voice against me; therefore I have hated her. 9Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field, bring them to devour. 10Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. 11They have made it a desolation; it mourns to me, being desolate; the whole land is made desolate, because no man lays it to heart. 12Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Yahweh devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh has peace. 13They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns; they have put themselves to pain, and profit nothing: and you shall be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce anger of Yahweh. 14Thus says Yahweh against all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them. 15It shall happen, after that I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them; and I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. 16It shall happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, As Yahweh lives; even as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of my people. 17But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it, says Yahweh.
1Gij zoudt rechtvaardig zijn, o HEERE! wanneer ik tegen U zou twisten; ik zal nochtans van Uw oordelen met U spreken; waarom is der goddelozen weg voorspoedig, waarom hebben zij rust, allen, die trouwelooslijk trouweloosheid bedrijven? 2Gij hebt ze geplant, zij zijn ook ingeworteld, zij gaan voort, ook dragen zij vrucht; Gij zijt wel nabij in hun mond, maar verre van hun nieren. 3Maar Gij, o HEERE! kent mij, Gij ziet mij, en proeft mijn hart, dat het met U is. Ruk ze uit als schapen ter slachting, en heilig ze tot den dag der doding. 4Hoe lang zal het land treuren, en het kruid des gansen velds verdorren? Vanwege de boosheid dergenen, die daarin wonen, vergaan de beesten en het gevogelte; dewijl zij zeggen: Hij ziet ons einde niet. 5Als gij loopt met de voetgangers, zo maken zij u moede; hoe zult gij u dan mengen met de paarden? Zo gij alleenlijk vertrouwt in een land van vrede, hoe zult gij het dan maken in de verheffing van de Jordaan? 6Want ook uw broeders en uws vaders huis, ook diezelve handelen trouwelooslijk tegen u; ook diezelve roepen u met volle stem achterna; geloof hen niet, wanneer zij vriendelijk tot u spreken. 7Ik heb Mijn huis verlaten, Ik heb Mijn erfenis laten varen; Ik heb de beminde Mijner ziel in de hand harer vijanden gegeven. 8Mijn erfenis is Mij geworden als een leeuw in het woud; zij heeft haar stem tegen Mij verheven, daarom heb Ik haar gehaat. 9Mijn erfenis is Mij een gesprenkelde vogel; de vogelen zijn rondom tegen haar; komt aan, verzamelt, al gij gedierte des velds, komt om te eten! 10Veel herders hebben Mijn wijngaard verdorven, zij hebben Mijn akker vertreden; zij hebben Mijn gewensten akker gesteld tot een woeste wildernis. 11Men heeft hem gesteld tot een woestheid, verwoest zijnde treurt hij tot Mij; het ganse land is verwoest, omdat er niemand is, die het ter harte neemt. 12Op alle hoge plaatsen in de woestijn zijn verstoorders gekomen, want het zwaard des HEEREN verteert van het ene einde des lands tot aan het andere einde des lands; er is geen vrede voor enig vlees. 13Zij hebben tarwe gezaaid, maar doornen gemaaid; zij hebben zich gepijnigd, maar niet gevorderd; wordt alzo beschaamd vanwege ulieder inkomsten, vanwege de hittigheid van den toorn des HEEREN. 14Alzo zegt de HEERE: Aangaande al Mijn boze naburen, die Mijn erfenis aanroeren, dewelke Ik Mijn volke Israel erfelijk gegeven heb; ziet, Ik zal hen uit hun land uitrukken, maar het huis van Juda zal Ik uit hunlieder midden uitrukken. 15En het zal geschieden, nadat Ik hen zal uitgerukt hebben, zo zal Ik wederkeren, en Mij hunner ontfermen; en Ik zal hen wederbrengen, een iegelijk tot zijn erfenis, en een iegelijk tot zijn land. 16En het zal geschieden, indien zij de wegen Mijns volks vlijtiglijk zullen leren, zwerende bij Mijn Naam: Zo waarachtig als de HEERE leeft! gelijk als zij Mijn volk geleerd hebben te zweren bij Baal, zo zullen zij in het midden Mijns volks gebouwd worden. 17Maar indien zij niet zullen horen, zo zal Ik diezelve natie ten enenmale uitrukken en verdoen, spreekt de HEERE.
