Oseas 4

1Dinggin ninyo ang salita ng Panginoon, ninyong mga anak ni Israel; sapagka't ang Panginoon ay may pakikipagkaalit sa mga mananahan sa lupain, sapagka't walang katotohanan, ni kaawaan man, ni kaalaman man tungkol sa Dios sa lupain. 2Wala kundi pagsumpa at kawalan ng pagtatapat, at pagpatay, pagnanakaw, at pangangalunya; sila'y nagsisidaluhong, at nagkakabubuan ng dugo. 3Kaya't ang lupain ay tatangis, at bawa't tumatahan doon ay manglulupaypay, kasama ng mga hayop sa parang at ng mga ibon sa himpapawid; oo, ang mga isda rin naman sa dagat ay mangahuhuli. 4Gayon ma'y huwag makipaglaban ang sinoman, o sumuway man ang sinoman; sapagka't ang iyong bayan ay gaya ng nakikipaglaban sa saserdote. 5At ikaw ay matitisod sa araw, at ang propeta naman ay matitisod na kasama mo sa gabi; at aking papatayin ang iyong ina. 6Ang aking bayan ay nasira dahil sa kakulangan ng kaalaman: sapagka't ikaw ay nagtakuwil ng kaalaman, akin namang itatakuwil ka, upang ikaw ay huwag maging saserdote ko: yamang iyong nilimot ang kautusan ng iyong Dios, akin namang kalilimutan ang iyong mga anak. 7Kung paanong sila'y nagsidami, gayon sila nangagkasala laban sa akin: aking papalitan ng kahihiyan ang kanilang kaluwalhatian. 8Sila'y nagsisikain sa kasalanan ng aking bayan, at inilalagak ang kanilang puso sa kanilang kasamaan. 9At mangyayari, na kung paano ang bayan, gayon ang saserdote, at akin silang parurusahan dahil sa kanilang mga lakad, at aking gagantihin sa kanila ang kanilang mga gawa. 10At sila'y magsisikain, at hindi mangabubusog; sila'y magpapatutot, at hindi dadami; sapagka't sila'y nangagwalang bahala sa Panginoon. 11Ang pagpapatutot at ang alak at bagong alak ay nagaalis ng kaalaman. 12Ang aking bayan ay humingi ng payo sa kanilang tungkod, at ang kanilang tungkod ay nagpapahayag sa kanila; sapagka't ang pagpapatutot ay nagligaw sa kanila, at sila'y nagpatutot, na nagsisihiwalay sa kanilang Dios. 13Sila'y nangaghahain sa mga taluktok ng mga bundok, at nangagsusunog ng kamangyan sa mga burol, sa ilalim ng mga encina at ng mga alamo at ng mga roble, sapagka't ang lilim ng mga yaon ay mabuti: kaya't ang inyong mga anak na babae ay nagpatutot, at ang inyong mga manugang na babae ay nangangalunya. 14Hindi ko parurusahan ang inyong mga anak na babae pagka sila'y nagpatutot ni ang inyong mga manugang na babae man pagka sila'y nangangalunya; sapagka't ang mga lalake sa kanilang sarili ay nagsisiyaon kasama ng mga patutot, at sila'y nangaghahain na kasama ng mga patutot: at ang bayan na hindi nakakaalam ay nawawasak. 15Bagaman ikaw, Oh Israel, ay nagpapatutot, gayon ma'y huwag ipagkasala ng Juda: at huwag kayong magsiparoon sa Gilgal, ni magsisampa man kayo sa Bethaven, ni magsisumpa man, Buhay ang Panginoon. 16Sapagka't ang Israel ay nagpakatigas ng ulo, gaya ng isang matigas na ulo na guyang babae: ngayo'y pakakanin sila ng Panginoon na parang batang tupa sa isang malaking dako. 17Ang Ephraim ay nalalakip sa mga diosdiosan; pabayaan siya. 18Ang kanilang inumin ay naging maasim; sila'y nagpapatutot na palagi; iniibig na mabuti ng kaniyang mga puno ang kahihiyan. 19Tinangay siya ng hangin sa kaniyang mga pakpak; at sila'y mangapapahiya dahil sa kanilang mga hain.

1Hear Yahweh’s word, you children of Israel; for Yahweh has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land. 2There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed. 3Therefore the land will mourn, and everyone who dwells therein will waste away. all living things in her, even the animals of the field and the birds of the sky; yes, the fish of the sea also die. 4“Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest. 5You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children. 7As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. I will change their glory into shame. 8They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity. 9It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds. 10They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to Yahweh. 11Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding. 12My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God. 13They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery. 14I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin. 15“Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet don’t let Judah offend; and don’t come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beth Aven, nor swear, ‘As Yahweh lives.’ 16For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will Yahweh feed them like a lamb in a meadow. 17Ephraim is joined to idols. Leave him alone! 18Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way. 19The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.

1Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij kinderen Israels! want de HEERE heeft een twist met de inwoners des lands, omdat er geen trouw, en geen weldadigheid, en geen kennis van God in het land is; 2Maar vloeken en liegen, en doodslaan, en stelen, en overspel doen; zij breken door, en bloedschulden raken aan bloedschulden. 3Daarom zal het land treuren, en een iegelijk, die daarin woont, kwelen, met het gedierte des velds, en met het gevogelte des hemels; ja, ook de vissen der zee zullen weggeraapt worden. 4Doch niemand twiste noch bestraffe iemand; want uw volk is als die met den priester twisten. 5Daarom zult gij vallen bij dag, ja, zelfs de profeet zal met u vallen bij nacht; en Ik zal uw moeder uitroeien. 6Mijn volk is uitgeroeid, omdat het zonder kennis is; dewijl gij de kennis verworpen hebt, heb Ik u ook verworpen, dat gij Mij het priesterambt niet zult bedienen; dewijl gij de wet uws Gods vergeten hebt, zal Ik ook uw kinderen vergeten. 7Gelijk zij meerder geworden zijn, alzo hebben zij tegen Mij gezondigd; Ik zal hunlieder eer in schande veranderen. 8Zij eten de zonde Mijns volks, en verlangen, een ieder met zijn ziel, naar hun ongerechtigheid. 9Daarom, gelijk het volk, alzo zal de priester zijn; en Ik zal zijn wegen over hem bezoeken, en zijn handelingen hem vergelden. 10En zij zullen eten, maar niet zat worden, zullen hoereren, maar niet uitbreken in menigte; want zij hebben nagelaten den HEERE in acht te nemen. 11Hoererij, en wijn, en most neemt het hart weg. 12Mijn volk vraagt zijn hout, en zijn stok zal het hem bekend maken; want de geest der hoererijen verleidt hen, dat zij van onder hun God weghoereren. 13Op de hoogten der bergen offeren zij, en op de heuvelen roken zij, onder een eik, en populier, en iepeboom, omdat derzelver schaduw goed is; daarom hoereren uw dochteren, en uw bruiden bedrijven overspel. 14Ik zal over uw dochteren geen bezoeking doen, omdat zij hoereren, en over uw bruiden, omdat zij overspel doen; want zij zelven scheiden zich af met de hoeren, en offeren met de snoodste hoeren; het volk dan, dat geen verstand heeft zal omgekeerd worden. 15Zo gij, o Israel! wilt hoereren, dat immers Juda niet schuldig worde; komt gij toch niet te Gilgal, en gaat niet op naar Beth-Aven, en zweert niet: Zo waarachtig als de HEERE leeft. 16Want Israel is onbandig, als een onbandige koe; nu zal hen de HEERE weiden, als een lam in de ruimte. 17Efraim is vergezeld met de afgoden; laat hem varen. 18Hunlieder zuiperij is afvallig; zij doen niet dan hoereren; hun schilden (het is een schande!) beminnen het woord: Geeft. 19Een wind heeft hen gebonden in zijn vleugelen, en zij zullen beschaamd worden vanwege hun offeranden.
