Mga Hebreo 4

1Mangatakot nga tayo, yamang may iniwang pangako ng pagpasok sa kaniyang kapahingahan, baka sakaling sinoman sa inyo ay maging tulad sa di nakaabot niyaon. 2Sapagka't tunay na tayo'y pinangaralan ng mabubuting balita, gaya rin naman nila: nguni't hindi nila pinakinabangan ang salitang napakinggan, dahil sa walang kalakip na pananampalataya ang nangakarinig. 3Sapagka't tayong nagsisipanampalataya ay nagsisipasok sa kapahingahang yaon; gaya ng sinabi niya, Gaya ng aking isinumpa sa aking kagalitan, Sila'y hindi magsisipasok sa aking kapahingahan: bagama't ang mga gawa ay nangatapos mula nang itatag ang sanglibutan. 4Sapagka't sa isang dako ay sinabi niya ang ganito tungkol sa ikapitong araw, At nagpahinga nang ikapitong araw ang Dios sa lahat ng kaniyang mga gawa; 5At sa dakong ito ay muling sinabi, Sila'y hindi magsisipasok sa aking kapahingahan. 6Kaya't yamang may natitira pang ibang dapat magsipasok doon, at ang mga pinangaralan nang una ng mabubuting balita ay hindi nangapasok dahil sa pagsuway, 7Ay muling nagtangi siya ng isang araw, Ngayon pagkatapos ng ilang panahon na sinabi sa mga awit ni David (ayon sa sinabi na ng una), Ngayon kung marinig ninyo ang kaniyang tinig, Huwag ninyong papagmatigasin ang inyong mga puso. 8Sapagka't kung ibinigay sa kanila ni Josue ang kapahingahan, ay hindi na sana niya sasalitain pagkatapos ang ibang araw. 9May natitira pa ngang isang pamamahingang sabbath, ukol sa bayan ng Dios. 10Sapagka't ang pumasok sa kaniyang kapahingahan ay nagpahinga naman sa kaniyang mga gawa, gaya ng Dios sa kaniyang mga gawa. 11Magsipagsikap nga tayo ng pagpasok sa kapahingahang yaon, upang huwag marapa ang sinoman ayon sa gayong halimbawa ng pagsuway. 12Sapagka't ang salita ng Dios ay buhay, at mabisa, at matalas kay sa alin mang tabak na may dalawang talim, at bumabaon hanggang sa paghihiwalay ng kaluluwa at espiritu, ng mga kasukasuan at ng utak, at madaling kumilala ng mga pagiisip at mga haka ng puso. 13At walang anomang nilalang na hindi nahahayag sa kaniyang paningin: nguni't ang lahat ng mga bagay ay hubad at hayag sa harapan ng mga mata niyaong ating pagsusulitan. 14Yaman ngang tayo'y mayroong isang lubhang dakilang saserdote, na pumasok sa kalangitan, si Jesus na Anak ng Dios, ay ingatan nating matibay ang ating pagkakilala. 15Sapagka't tayo'y walang isang dakilang saserdote na hindi maaaring mahabag sa ating kahinaan, kundi isa na tinukso sa lahat ng mga paraan gaya rin naman natin gayon ma'y walang kasalanan. 16Magsilapit nga tayong may pagkakatiwala sa luklukan ng biyaya, upang tayo'y magsipagtamo ng awa, at mangakasumpong ng biyaya upang tumulong sa atin sa panahon ng pangangailangan.

1Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest. 2For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard. 3For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”; although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works”; 5and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.” 6Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience, 7he again defines a certain day, today, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” 8For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. 9There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. 11Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. 12For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. 14Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession. 15For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

1Laat ons dan vrezen, dat niet te eniger tijd, de belofte van in Zijn rust in te gaan nagelaten zijnde, iemand van u schijne achtergebleven te zijn. 2Want ook ons is het Evangelie verkondigd, gelijk als hun; maar het woord der prediking deed hun geen nut, dewijl het met het geloof niet gemengd was in degenen, die het gehoord hebben. 3Want wij, die geloofd hebben, gaan in de rust, gelijk Hij gezegd heeft: Zo heb Ik dan gezworen in Mijn toorn: Indien zij zullen ingaan in Mijn rust! hoewel Zijn werken van de grondlegging der wereld af al volbracht waren. 4Want Hij heeft ergens van den zevenden dag aldus gesproken: En God heeft op den zevenden dag van al Zijn werken gerust. 5En in deze plaats wederom: Indien zij in Mijn rust zullen ingaan! 6Dewijl dan blijft, dat sommigen in dezelve rust ingaan, en degenen, dien het Evangelie eerst verkondigd was, niet ingegaan zijn vanwege de ongehoorzaamheid, 7Zo bepaalt Hij wederom een zekeren dag, namelijk heden, door David zeggende, zo langen tijd daarna (gelijkerwijs gezegd is): Heden, indien gij Zijn stem hoort, zo verhardt uw harten niet. 8Want indien Jozua hen in de rust gebracht heeft, zo had Hij daarna niet gesproken van een anderen dag. 9Er blijft dan een rust over voor het volk Gods. 10Want die ingegaan is in zijn rust, heeft zelf ook van zijn werken gerust, gelijk God van de Zijne. 11Laat ons dan ons benaarstigen, om in die rust in te gaan; opdat niet iemand in hetzelfde voorbeeld der ongelovigheid valle. 12Want het Woord Gods is levend en krachtig, en scherpsnijdender dan enig tweesnijdend zwaard, en gaat door tot de verdeling der ziel, en des geestes, en der samenvoegselen, en des mergs, en is een oordeler der gedachten en der overleggingen des harten. 13En er is geen schepsel onzichtbaar voor Hem; maar alle dingen zijn naakt en geopend voor de ogen Desgenen, met Welken wij te doen hebben. 14Dewijl wij dan een groten Hogepriester hebben, Die door de hemelen doorgegaan is, namelijk Jezus, den Zoon van God, zo laat ons deze belijdenis vasthouden. 15Want wij hebben geen hogepriester, die niet kan medelijden hebben met onze zwakheden, maar Die in alle dingen, gelijk als wij, is verzocht geweest, doch zonder zonde. 16Laat ons dan met vrijmoedigheid toegaan tot den troon der genade, opdat wij barmhartigheid mogen verkrijgen, en genade vinden, om geholpen te worden ter bekwamer tijd.
