1Si Pablo at si Timoteo, na mga alipin ni Cristo Jesus, sa lahat ng mga banal kay Cristo Jesus na nangasa Filipos, pati ng mga obispo at ng mga diakono: 2Sumainyo nawa ang biyaya at kapayapaang mula sa Dios na ating Ama at sa Panginoong Jesucristo. 3Ako'y nagpapasalamat sa aking Dios, sa tuwing kayo'y aking naaalaala, 4Na parating sa bawa't daing ko, ay masayang nananaing ako na patungkol sa inyong lahat, 5Dahil sa inyong pakikisama sa pagpapalaganap ng evangelio, mula nang unang araw hanggang ngayon; 6Na ako'y may lubos na pagkakatiwala sa bagay na ito, na ang nagpasimula sa inyo ng mabuting gawa, ay lulubusin hanggang sa araw ni Jesucristo: 7Gaya ng matuwid na aking isiping gayon tungkol sa inyong lahat, sapagka't kayo'y nasa aking puso, palibhasa'y, sa aking mga tanikala at pagsasanggalang at sa pagpapatunay naman sa evangelio, kayong lahat na kasama ko ay may bahagi sa biyaya. 8Sapagka't saksi ko ang Dios, kung gaano ang pananabik ko sa inyong lahat sa mahinahong habag ni Cristo Jesus. 9At ito'y idinadalangin ko, na ang inyong pagibig ay lalo't lalo pang sumagana nawa sa kaalaman at sa lahat ng pagkakilala; 10Upang inyong kilalanin ang mga bagay na magagaling; upang kayo'y maging mga tapat at walang kapintasan hanggang sa kaarawan ni Cristo; 11Na mangapuspos ng bunga ng kabanalan, na ito'y sa pamamagitan ni Jesucristo, sa ikaluluwalhati at ikapupuri ng Dios. 12Ngayon ibig ko na inyong maalaman, mga kapatid, na ang mga bagay na nangyari sa akin ay nangyari sa lalong ikasusulong ng evangelio; 13Ano pa't ang aking mga tanikala kay Cristo ay nahayag sa lahat ng mga bantay ng pretorio, at sa mga iba't iba pa; 14At ang karamihan sa mga kapatid sa Panginoon, na palibhasa'y may pagkakatiwala sa aking mga tanikala, ay lalong nagkaroon ng tapang upang salitaing walang takot ang salita ng Dios. 15Tunay na ipinangangaral ng iba si Cristo sa kapanaghilian at sa pakikipagtalo; at ng mga iba naman sa mabuting kalooban: 16Ang isa'y gumagawa nito sa pagibig, palibhasa'y nalalaman na ako'y nalalagay sa pagsasanggalang ng evangelio; 17Datapuwa't itinatanyag ng iba si Cristo dahil sa pagkakampikampi, hindi sa pagtatapat, na ang iniisip ay dalhan ako ng kapighatian sa aking mga tanikala. 18Ano nga? gayon man, sa lahat ng paraan, maging sa pagdadahilan o sa katotohanan, ay itinatanyag si Cristo; at sa ganito'y nagagalak ako, oo, at ako'y magagalak. 19Sapagka't nalalaman ko na ang kahihinatnan nito'y sa aking ikaliligtas, sa pamamagitan ng inyong pananaing at kapuspusan ng Espiritu ni Cristo, 20Ayon sa aking maningas na paghihintay at pagasa, na, sa anoma'y hindi ako mapapahiya, kundi sa buong katapangan, na gaya ng dati, gayon din naman ngayon, ay dadakilain si Cristo sa aking katawan, maging sa pamamagitan ng kabuhayan, o sa pamamagitan ng kamatayan. 21Sapagka't sa ganang akin ang mabuhay ay si Cristo, at ang mamatay ay pakinabang. 22Nguni't kung ang mabuhay sa laman ay siya kong palad, ito'y magiging mabungang pagpapagal, na aywan ko nga kung ano ang aking pipiliin. 23Sapagka't ako'y nagigipit sa magkabila, akong may nasang umalis at suma kay Cristo; sapagka't ito'y lalong mabuti: 24Gayon ma'y ang manatili sa laman ay siyang lalong kinakailangan dahil sa inyo. 25At sa pagkakatiwalang ito, ay aking nalalaman na ako'y mananatili, oo, at mananatili ako na kasama ninyong lahat, sa ikasusulong ninyo at ikagagalak sa pananampalataya; 26Upang managana ang inyong pagmamapuri kay Cristo Jesus sa akin sa pamamagitan ng aking pagharap na muli sa inyo. 27Ang inyo lamang pamumuhay ay maging karapatdapat sa evangelio ni Cristo: upang, maging ako ay dumating at kayo'y makita, o wala man sa harap ninyo, ay mabalitaan ko ang inyong kalagayan, na kayo'y matitibay sa isang espiritu, na kayo'y mangagkaisa ng kaluluwa na nangagsisikap sa pananampalataya sa evangelio; 28At sa anoman ay huwag kayong mangatakot sa mga kaaway: na ito sa kanila ay malinaw na tanda ng kapahamakan, datapuwa't tanda ng inyong pagkaligtas, at ito'y mula sa Dios; 29Sapagka't sa inyo'y ipinagkaloob alangalang kay Cristo, hindi lamang upang manampalataya sa kaniya, kundi upang magtiis din naman alangalang sa kaniya: 30Yamang taglay ninyo ang pakikipagbuno na inyong nakita rin sa akin, at ngayo'y nababalitaan ninyong taglay ko.
1Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ; To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and servants: 2Grace to you, and peace from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3I thank my God whenever I remember you, 4always in every request of mine on behalf of you all making my requests with joy, 5for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now; 6being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. 7It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace. 8For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus. 9This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; 10so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ; 11being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. 12Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News; 13so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ; 14and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear. 15Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will. 16The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains; 17but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News. 18What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice. 19For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. 21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose. 23But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. 24Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake. 25Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 26that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again. 27Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News; 28and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God. 29Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf, 30having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.
1Paulus en Timotheus, dienstknechten van Jezus Christus, al den heiligen in Christus Jezus, die te Filippi zijn, met de opzieners en diakenen: 2Genade zij u en vrede van God, onzen Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 3Ik dank mijn God, zo dikwijls als ik uwer gedenk. 4(Te allen tijd in al mijn gebed voor u allen met blijdschap het gebed doende) 5Over uw gemeenschap aan het Evangelie, van den eersten dag af tot nu toe; 6Vertrouwende ditzelve, dat Hij, Die in u een goed werk begonnen heeft, dat voleindigen zal tot op den dag van Jezus Christus; 7Gelijk het bij mij recht is, dat ik van u allen dit gevoel, omdat ik in mijn hart houde, dat gij, beide in mijn banden, en in mijn verantwoording en bevestiging van het Evangelie, gij allen, zeg ik, mijner genade mede deelachtig zijt. 8Want God is mijn Getuige, hoezeer ik begerig ben naar u allen, met innerlijke bewegingen van Jezus Christus. 9En dit bid ik God, dat uw liefde nog meer en meer overvloedig worde in erkentenis en alle gevoelen; 10Opdat gij beproeft de dingen, die daarvan verschillen, opdat gij oprecht zijt, en zonder aanstoot te geven, tot den dag van Christus; 11Vervuld met vruchten der gerechtigheid, die door Jezus Christus zijn tot heerlijkheid en prijs van God. 12En ik wil, dat gij weet, broeders, dat hetgeen aan mij is geschied, meer tot bevordering van het Evangelie gekomen is; 13Alzo dat mijn banden in Christus openbaar geworden zijn in het ganse rechthuis, en aan alle anderen; 14En dat het meerder deel der broederen in den Heere, door mijn banden vertrouwen gekregen hebbende, overvloediger het Woord onbevreesd durven spreken. 15Sommigen prediken ook wel Christus door nijd en twist, maar sommigen ook door goedwilligheid. 16Genen verkondigen wel Christus uit twisting, niet zuiver, menende aan mijn banden verdrukking toe te brengen; 17Doch dezen uit liefde, dewijl zij weten, dat ik tot verantwoording van het Evangelie gezet ben. 18Wat dan? Nochtans wordt Christus op allerlei wijze, hetzij onder een deksel, hetzij in der waarheid, verkondigd; en daarin verblijd ik mij, ja, ik zal mij ook verblijden. 19Want ik weet, dat dit mij ter zaligheid gedijen zal, door uw gebed en toebrenging des Geestes van Jezus Christus. 20Volgens mijn ernstige verwachting en hoop, dat ik in geen zaak zal beschaamd worden; maar dat in alle vrijmoedigheid, gelijk te allen tijd, alzo ook nu, Christus zal groot gemaakt worden in mijn lichaam, hetzij door het leven, hetzij door den dood. 21Want het leven is mij Christus, en het sterven is mij gewin. 22Maar of te leven in het vlees, hetzelve mij oorbaar zij, en wat ik verkiezen zal, weet ik niet. 23Want ik word van deze twee gedrongen, hebbende begeerte, om ontbonden te worden en met Christus te zijn; want dat is zeer verre het beste. 24Maar in het vlees te blijven, is nodiger om uwentwil. 25En dit vertrouw en weet ik, dat ik zal blijven, en met u allen zal verblijven tot uw bevordering en blijdschap des geloofs; 26Opdat uw roem in Christus Jezus overvloedig zij aan mij, door mijn tegenwoordigheid wederom bij u. 27Alleenlijk wandelt waardiglijk het Evangelie van Christus, opdat, hetzij ik kom en u zie, hetzij ik afwezig ben, ik van uw zaken moge horen, dat gij staat in een geest, met een gemoed gezamenlijk strijdende door het geloof des Evangelies; 28En dat gij in geen ding verschrikt wordt van degenen, die tegenstaan; hetwelk hun wel een bewijs is des verderfs, maar u der zaligheid, en dat van God. 29Want u is uit genade gegeven in de zaak van Christus, niet alleen in Hem te geloven, maar ook voor Hem te lijden; 30Denzelfden strijd hebbende, hoedanigen gij in mij gezien hebt, en nu in mij hoort.
