1 Timoteo 4

1Nguni't hayag na sinasabi ng Espiritu, na sa mga huling panahon ang iba'y magsisitalikod sa pananampalataya, at mangakikinig sa mga espiritung mapanghikayat at sa mga aral ng mga demonio, 2Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapaimbabaw ng mga tao na nagsisipagsalita ng mga kasinungalingan, na hinerohan ang kanilang mga sariling budhi ng waring bakal na nagbabaga; 3Na ipinagbabawal ang pagaasawa, at ipinaguutos na lumayo sa mga lamangkati, na nilalang ng Dios upang tanggapin na may pagpapasalamat ng mga nagsisisampalataya at nangakakaalam ng katotohanan. 4Sapagka't ang bawa't nilalang ng Dios ay mabuti, at walang anomang nararapat na itakuwil, kung tinatanggap na may pagpapasalamat: 5Sapagka't pinakababanal sa pamamagitan ng salita ng Dios at ng pananalangin. 6Kung ipaalaala mo sa mga kapatid ang mga bagay na ito, ikaw ay magiging isang mabuting ministro ni Cristo Jesus, na kinandili sa mga salita ng pananampalataya at ng mabuting aral na sinusunod mo hanggang ngayon: 7Datapuwa't itakuwil mo ang mga kathang masasama at walang kabuluhan. At magsanay ka sa kabanalan: 8Sapagka't sa pagsasanay ng katawan ay may kaunting pakinabang, nguni't ang kabanalang sa lahat ng mga bagay ay pinakikinabangan, na may pangako sa buhay na ito, at sa darating. 9Tapat ang pasabi, at nararapat tanggapin ng lahat. 10Sapagka't dahil dito ay nagsisipagpagal kami at nagsisipagsikap, sapagka't may pagasa kami sa Dios na buhay, na siyang Tagapagligtas sa lahat ng mga tao, lalong lalo na sa mga nagsisisampalataya. 11Ang mga bagay na ito'y iyong iutos at ituro. 12Huwag hamakin ng sinoman ang iyong kabataan; kundi ikaw ay maging uliran ng mga nagsisisampalataya, sa pananalita, sa pamumuhay, sa pagibig, sa pananampalataya, sa kalinisan. 13Hanggang ako'y pumariyan ay magsikap ka sa pagbasa, sa pangangaral, sa pagtuturo. 14Huwag mong pabayaan ang kaloob na nasa iyo, na sa iyo'y ibinigay sa pamamagitan ng hula, na may pagpapatong ng mga kamay ng kapulungan ng mga presbitero. 15Magsipag ka sa mga bagay na ito; tumalaga kang lubos sa mga ito; upang ang iyong pagkasulong ay mahayag sa lahat. 16Magingat ka sa iyong sarili, at sa iyong turo. Manatili ka sa mga bagay na ito; sapagka't sa paggawa nito ay ang iyo ring sarili ang ililigtas mo at pati ng mga nagsisipakinig sa iyo.

1But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, 2through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; 3forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. 5For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. 6If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed. 7But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness. 8For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come. 9This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance. 10For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11Command and teach these things. 12Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. 13Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching. 14Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. 15Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all. 16Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

1Doch de Geest zegt duidelijk, dat in de laatste tijden sommigen zullen afvallen van het geloof, zich begevende tot verleidende geesten, en leringen der duivelen, 2Door geveinsdheid der leugensprekers, hebbende hun eigen geweten als met een brandijzer toegeschroeid; 3Verbiedende te huwelijken, gebiedende van spijzen te onthouden, die God geschapen heeft, tot nuttiging met dankzegging, voor de gelovigen, en die de waarheid hebben bekend. 4Want alle schepsel Gods is goed, en er is niets verwerpelijk, met dankzegging genomen zijnde; 5Want het wordt geheiligd door het Woord van God, en door het gebed. 6Als gij deze dingen den broederen voorstelt, zo zult gij een goed dienaar van Jezus Christus zijn, opgevoed in de woorden des geloofs en der goede leer, welke gij achtervolgd hebt. 7Maar verwerp de ongoddelijke en oudwijfse fabelen; en oefen uzelven tot godzaligheid. 8Want de lichamelijke oefening is tot weinig nut; maar de godzaligheid is tot alle dingen nut, hebbende de belofte des tegenwoordigen en des toekomenden levens. 9Dit is een getrouw woord, en alle aanneming waardig. 10Want hiertoe arbeiden wij ook, en worden versmaad, omdat wij gehoopt hebben op den levenden God, Die een Behouder is aller mensen, maar allermeest der gelovigen. 11Beveel deze dingen, en leer ze. 12Niemand verachte uw jonkheid, maar zijt een voorbeeld der gelovigen in woord, in wandel, in liefde, in den geest, in geloof, in reinheid. 13Houd aan in het lezen, in het vermanen, in het leren, totdat ik kome. 14Verzuim de gave niet, die in u is, die u gegeven is door de profetie, met oplegging der handen des ouderlingschaps. 15Bedenk deze dingen, wees hierin bezig, opdat uw toenemen openbaar zij in alles. 16Heb acht op uzelven en op de leer; volhard daarin; want dat doende, zult gij en uzelven behouden, en die u horen.
