Hosea 9

1Usifurahie, ee Israeli; usishangilie kama mataifa mengine. Kwa kuwa hukuwa mwaminifu kwa Mungu wako; umependa ujira wa kahaba kwenye kila sakafu ya kupuria nafaka. 2Sakafu za kupuria nafaka na mashinikizo ya kukamulia divai havitalisha watu, divai mpya itawapungukia. 3Hawataishi katika nchi ya Bwana, Efraimu atarudi Misri na atakula chakula kilicho najisi huko Ashuru. 4Hawatammiminia Bwana sadaka ya divai wala dhabihu zao hazitampendeza. Dhabihu kama hizo zitakuwa kwao kama mkate wa waombolezaji; nao wote wazilao watakuwa najisi. Chakula hiki kitakuwa kwa ajili yao wenyewe; kisije katika Hekalu la Bwana. 5Mtafanya nini katika siku ya sikukuu zenu zilizoamriwa, katika siku za sikukuu za Bwana? 6Hata ikiwa wataokoka maangamizi, Misri atawakusanya, nayo Memfisi itawazika. Hazina zao za fedha zitasongwa na michongoma, nayo miiba itafunika mahema yao. 7Siku za adhabu zinakuja, siku za malipo zimewadia. Israeli na afahamu hili. Kwa sababu dhambi zenu ni nyingi sana na uadui wenu ni mkubwa sana, nabii anadhaniwa ni mpumbavu, mtu aliyeongozwa na Mungu anaonekana mwendawazimu. 8Nabii, pamoja na Mungu wangu, ndiye mlinzi juu ya Efraimu, hata hivyo mitego inamngojea katika mapito yake yote, na uadui katika nyumba ya Mungu wake. 9Wamezama sana katika rushwa, kama katika siku za Gibea. Mungu atakumbuka uovu wao na kuwaadhibu kwa ajili ya dhambi zao. 10“Nilipompata Israeli, ilikuwa kama kupata zabibu jangwani; nilipowaona baba zenu, ilikuwa kama kuona matunda ya kwanza katika mtini. Lakini walipofika Baal-Peori, walijiweka wakfu kwa ile sanamu ya aibu, nao wakawa najisi kama kitu kile walichokipenda. 11Utukufu wa Efraimu utaruka kama ndege: hakuna kuzaa, hakuna kuchukua mimba, hakuna kutunga mimba. 12Hata wakilea watoto, nitamuua kila mmoja. Ole wao nitakapowapiga kisogo! 13Nimemwona Efraimu, kama Tiro, aliyeoteshwa mahali pazuri. Lakini Efraimu wataleta watoto wao kwa mchinjaji.” 14Wape, Ee Bwana, je, utawapa nini? Wape matumbo ya kuharibu mimba na matiti yaliyokauka. 15“Kwa sababu ya uovu wao wote huko Gilgali, niliwachukia huko. Kwa sababu ya matendo yao ya dhambi, nitawafukuza katika nyumba yangu. Sitawapenda tena, viongozi wao wote ni waasi. 16Efraimu ameharibiwa, mzizi wao umenyauka, hawazai tunda. Hata kama watazaa watoto, nitawachinja watoto wao waliotunzwa vizuri.” 17Mungu wangu atawakataa kwa sababu hawakumtii; watakuwa watu wa kutangatanga miongoni mwa mataifa.

1Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor. 2The threshing floor and the wine press won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her. 3They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria. 4They won’t pour out wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into Yahweh’s house. 5What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Yahweh? 6For, behold, they have gone away from destruction. Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents. 7The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great. 8A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God. 9They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins. 10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved. 11As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no one with child, and no conception. 12Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them! 13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer. 14Give them—Yahweh what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. 15“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels. 16Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.” 17My God will cast them away, because they did not listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.

1Verblijd u niet, o Israel! tot opspringens toe, gelijk de volken; want gij hoereert van uw God af; gij hebt hoerenloon lief, op alle dorsvloeren des korens. 2De dors vloer en de wijnkuip zal henlieden niet voeden; en de most zal hun liegen. 3Zij zullen in des HEEREN land niet blijven; maar Efraim zal weder tot Egypte keren, en zij zullen in Assyrie het onreine eten. 4Zij zullen den HEERE geen drankofferen doen van wijn, ook zouden zij Hem niet zoet zijn, hun offeranden zouden hun zijn als treurbrood; allen, die dat zouden eten, zouden onrein worden; want hun brood zal voor hun ziel zijn, het zal in des HEEREN huis niet komen. 5Wat zult gijlieden dan doen op een gezetten hoogtijdsdag, en op een feestdag des HEEREN? 6Want ziet, zij gaan daarhenen vanwege de verstoring; Egypte zal ze verzamelen, Mof zal ze begraven; begeerte zal er zijn naar hun zilver, netelen zullen hen erfelijk bezitten, doornen zullen in hun tenten zijn. 7De dagen der bezoeking zijn gekomen, de dagen der vergelding zijn gekomen; die van Israel zullen het gewaar worden; de profeet is een dwaas, de man des geestes is onzinnig; om de grootheid uwer ongerechtigheid is de haat ook groot. 8De wachter van Efraim is met mijn God, maar de profeet is een vogelvangersstrik, op al zijn wegen, een haat in het huis zijns Gods. 9Zij hebben zich zeer diep verdorven, als in de dagen van Gibea; Hij zal hunner ongerechtigheid gedenken, Hij zal hun zonden bezoeken. 10Ik vond Israel als druiven in de woestijn, Ik zag uw vaderen als de eerste vrucht aan den vijgeboom in haar beginsel; maar zij gingen in tot Baal-Peor, en zonderden zich af tot die schaamte, en werden gans verfoeilijk naar hun boelerij. 11Aangaande Efraim, hunlieder heerlijkheid zal wegvlieden als een vogel; van de geboorte, en van moeders buik, en van de ontvangenis af. 12Ofschoon zij hun kinderen mochten groot maken, Ik zal er hen toch van beroven, dat zij onder de mensen niet zullen zijn; want ook, wee hun, als Ik van hen zal geweken zijn! 13Efraim is, gelijk als Ik Tyrus aanzag, die geplant is in een liefelijke woonplaats; maar Efraim zal zijn kinderen moeten uitbrengen tot den doodslager. 14Geef hun, HEERE! Wat zult Gij geven? Geef hun een misdragende baarmoeder, en uitdrogende borsten. 15Al hun boosheid is te Gilgal, want daar heb Ik ze gehaat, om de boosheid van hun handelingen; Ik zal ze uit Mijn huis uitdrijven, Ik zal ze voortaan niet meer liefhebben; al hun vorsten zijn afvalligen. 16Efraim is geslagen, hunlieder wortel is verdord, zij zullen geen vrucht voortbrengen; ja, ofschoon zij genereerden, zo zal Ik toch de gewenste vruchten van hun buik doden. 17Mijn God zal ze verwerpen, omdat zij naar Hem niet horen; en zij zullen omzwervende zijn onder de heidenen.
