1A verdadeira sabedoria edificou sua casa; ela lavrou suas sete colunas. 2Ela sacrificou seu sacrifício, misturou seu vinho, e preparou sua mesa. 3Mandou suas servas, e está convidando desde os pontos mais altos da cidade, dizendo: 4Qualquer um que for ingênuo, venha aqui.Aos que têm falta de entendimento, ela diz: 5Vinde, comei do meu pão; e bebei do vinho que misturei. 6Abandonai a tolice; e vivei; e andai pelo caminho da prudência. 7Aquele que repreende ao zombador, toma desonra para si mesmo; e o que tenta corrigir ao perverso acaba sendo manchado. 8Não repreendas ao zombador, para que ele não te odeie; repreende ao sábio, e ele te amará. 9Ensina ao sábio, e ele será mais sábio ainda; instrui ao justo, e ele aumentará seu conhecimento. 10O temor ao SENHOR é o princípio da sabedoria; e o conhecimento dos santos é a prudência. 11Porque por mim teus dias serão multiplicados; e anos de vida a ti serão aumentados. 12Se fores sábio, serás sábio para ti; e se fores zombador, somente tu aguentarás. 13A mulher louca é causadora de tumultos; ela é tola, e não sabe coisa alguma. 14E se senta à porta de sua casa, sobre uma cadeira, nos lugares altos da cidade; 15Para chamar aos que passam pelo caminho, e passam por suas veredas, dizendo : 16Qualquer um que for ingênuo, venha aqui! E aos que tem falta de entendimento, ela diz: 17As águas roubadas são doces; e o pão escondido é agradável. 18Porém aquele que a ouve não sabe que ali estão os mortos; os convidados dela estão nas profundezas do mundo dos mortos.
1Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars. 2She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table. 3She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city: 4“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him, 5“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed! 6Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.” 7He who corrects a mocker invites insult. He who reproves a wicked man invites abuse. 8Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you. 9Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. 10The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased. 12If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it. 13The foolish woman is loud, Undisciplined, and knows nothing. 14She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, 15To call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways, 16“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” as for him who is void of understanding, she says to him, 17“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.” 18But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

Zij heeft Haar wijn gemengd; ook heeft Zij Haar tafel toegericht. 3Zij heeft Haar dienstmaagden uitgezonden; Zij nodigt op de tinnen van de hoogten der stad: 4Wie is slecht? Hij kere zich herwaarts! Tot de verstandeloze zegt Zij: 5Komt, eet van Mijn brood, en drinkt van den wijn, dien Ik gemengd heb. 6Verlaat de slechtigheden, en leeft; en treedt in den weg des verstands. 7Wie den spotter tuchtigt, behaalt zich schande; en die den goddeloze bestraft, zijn schandvlek. 8Bestraf den spotter niet, opdat hij u niet hate; bestraf den wijze, en hij zal u liefhebben. 9Leer den wijze, zo zal hij nog wijzer worden; onderwijs den rechtvaardige, zo zal hij in leer toenemen. 10De vreze des HEEREN is het beginsel der wijsheid, en de wetenschap der heiligen is verstand. 11Want door Mij zullen uw dagen vermenigvuldigen, en de jaren des levens zullen u toegedaan worden. 12Indien gij wijs zijt, gij zijt wijs voor uzelven; en zijt gij een spotter, gij zult het alleen dragen. 13Een zotte vrouw is woelachtig, de slechtigheid zelve, en weet niet met al. 14En zij zit aan de deur van haar huis, op een stoel, op de hoge plaatsen der stad; 15Om te roepen degenen, die op den weg voorbijgaan, die hun paden recht maken, zeggende: 16Wie is slecht? Hij kere zich herwaarts; en tot den verstandeloze zegt zij: 17De gestolen wateren zijn zoet, en het verborgen brood is liefelijk. 18Maar hij weet niet, dat aldaar doden zijn; haar genoden zijn in de diepten der hel.
