Ozeasza 4

1Słuchajcie słowa Pańskiego, o synowie Izraelscy! bo się Pan rozpiera z obywatelami tej ziemi, gdyż niemasz prawdy, ani żadnego miłosierdzia, ani znajomości Bożej w tej ziemi. 2Krzywoprzysięstwem, i kłamstwem, i mężobójstwem, i złodziejstwem, i cudzołóstwem wylewali z brzegów, a mężobójstwo mężobójstwa ścigało. 3Dlatego ziemia kwilić będzie, a zemdleje wszystko, co na niej mieszka; zwierz polny i ptastwo niebieskie, nawet i ryby morskie zginą. 4A wszakże niech się nikt z nimi nie spiera, ani ich kto strofuje; bo lud twój jest jako ci, którzy się z kapłanem wadzą. 5Przetoż upadniesz we dnie, upadnie też i prorok z tobą w nocy; zagładzę i matkę twoję. 6Lud mój wygładzony będzie dla nieumiejętności; a ponieważeś ty odrzucił umiejętność , i Ja też ciebie odrzucę, abyś mi kapłańskiego urzędu nie odprawował; a iżeś zapomniał zakonu Boga twego, Ja też zapomnę na synów twoich. 7Czem się więcej rozmnożyli, tem więcej grzeszyli przeciwko mnie; dlatego sławę ich odmienię w hańbę. 8Ofiary za grzech ludu mego jedzą: przetoż do nieprawości ich podnoszą duszę swoję. 9Przetoż stanie się jako ludowie, tak i kapłanowi; bo nawiedzę na nim drogi jego, a uczynki jego oddam mu. 10I będą jeść, wszakże się nie nasycą, nierząd płodzić będą, ale się nie rozrodzą; bo nie chcą mieć względu na Pana. 11Wszeteczństwo, i wino, i moszcz odejmuje serce. 12Lud mój drewna swego się pyta, a kij jego odpowiada mu; bo ich duch wszeteczeństwa w błąd prowadzi, aby nierząd płodzili, odstępując od Boga swego. 13Na wierzchach gór ofiarują, a na pagórkach kadzą pod dębiną i pod topoliną, i pod więziną, bo dobry jest cień ich; dlatego wszeteczeństwo płodzą córki wasze, a niewiasty wasze cudzołożą. 14Nie miałżebym nawiedzić córek waszych, gdy nierząd płodzą? i niewiast waszych, gdy cudzołożą? Albo gdy się i oni sami z nierządnicami odłączają, i z wszetecznicami ofiarują? Owszem, lud, który sobie tego w rozum nie bierze, upadnie. 15Jeźli nierząd płodzisz, ty Izraelu! niechże wżdy nie występuje Juda; przetoż nie chodźcie do Galgal, ani wstępujcie do Bet Awen, ani przysięgajcie mówiąc: Jako żyje Pan! 16Bo Izrael jest nieokrócony jako jałowica nieokrócona: zaprawdę Pan ich paść będzie, jako baranki na przestrzeństwie. 17Stowarzyszył się Efraim z bałwanami; zaniechaj go. 18Odpornymi ich czyni napój ich, nierząd ustawicznie płodzą; obrońcy jego z hańbą miłują dary. 19Zachwyci ich wiatr skrzydłami swemi, i będą zawstydzeni dla ofiar swoich.

1Hear Yahweh’s word, you children of Israel; for Yahweh has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land. 2There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed. 3Therefore the land will mourn, and everyone who dwells therein will waste away. all living things in her, even the animals of the field and the birds of the sky; yes, the fish of the sea also die. 4“Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest. 5You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children. 7As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. I will change their glory into shame. 8They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity. 9It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds. 10They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to Yahweh. 11Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding. 12My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God. 13They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery. 14I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin. 15“Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet don’t let Judah offend; and don’t come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beth Aven, nor swear, ‘As Yahweh lives.’ 16For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will Yahweh feed them like a lamb in a meadow. 17Ephraim is joined to idols. Leave him alone! 18Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way. 19The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.

1Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij kinderen Israels! want de HEERE heeft een twist met de inwoners des lands, omdat er geen trouw, en geen weldadigheid, en geen kennis van God in het land is; 2Maar vloeken en liegen, en doodslaan, en stelen, en overspel doen; zij breken door, en bloedschulden raken aan bloedschulden. 3Daarom zal het land treuren, en een iegelijk, die daarin woont, kwelen, met het gedierte des velds, en met het gevogelte des hemels; ja, ook de vissen der zee zullen weggeraapt worden. 4Doch niemand twiste noch bestraffe iemand; want uw volk is als die met den priester twisten. 5Daarom zult gij vallen bij dag, ja, zelfs de profeet zal met u vallen bij nacht; en Ik zal uw moeder uitroeien. 6Mijn volk is uitgeroeid, omdat het zonder kennis is; dewijl gij de kennis verworpen hebt, heb Ik u ook verworpen, dat gij Mij het priesterambt niet zult bedienen; dewijl gij de wet uws Gods vergeten hebt, zal Ik ook uw kinderen vergeten. 7Gelijk zij meerder geworden zijn, alzo hebben zij tegen Mij gezondigd; Ik zal hunlieder eer in schande veranderen. 8Zij eten de zonde Mijns volks, en verlangen, een ieder met zijn ziel, naar hun ongerechtigheid. 9Daarom, gelijk het volk, alzo zal de priester zijn; en Ik zal zijn wegen over hem bezoeken, en zijn handelingen hem vergelden. 10En zij zullen eten, maar niet zat worden, zullen hoereren, maar niet uitbreken in menigte; want zij hebben nagelaten den HEERE in acht te nemen. 11Hoererij, en wijn, en most neemt het hart weg. 12Mijn volk vraagt zijn hout, en zijn stok zal het hem bekend maken; want de geest der hoererijen verleidt hen, dat zij van onder hun God weghoereren. 13Op de hoogten der bergen offeren zij, en op de heuvelen roken zij, onder een eik, en populier, en iepeboom, omdat derzelver schaduw goed is; daarom hoereren uw dochteren, en uw bruiden bedrijven overspel. 14Ik zal over uw dochteren geen bezoeking doen, omdat zij hoereren, en over uw bruiden, omdat zij overspel doen; want zij zelven scheiden zich af met de hoeren, en offeren met de snoodste hoeren; het volk dan, dat geen verstand heeft zal omgekeerd worden. 15Zo gij, o Israel! wilt hoereren, dat immers Juda niet schuldig worde; komt gij toch niet te Gilgal, en gaat niet op naar Beth-Aven, en zweert niet: Zo waarachtig als de HEERE leeft. 16Want Israel is onbandig, als een onbandige koe; nu zal hen de HEERE weiden, als een lam in de ruimte. 17Efraim is vergezeld met de afgoden; laat hem varen. 18Hunlieder zuiperij is afvallig; zij doen niet dan hoereren; hun schilden (het is een schande!) beminnen het woord: Geeft. 19Een wind heeft hen gebonden in zijn vleugelen, en zij zullen beschaamd worden vanwege hun offeranden.
