2 Samuele 22

1Davide rivolse all’Eterno le parole di questo cantico quando l’Eterno l’ebbe riscosso dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici e dalla mano di Saul. Egli disse: 2"L’Eterno è la mia ròcca, la mia fortezza, il mio liberatore; 3l’Iddio ch’è la mia rupe, in cui mi rifugio, il mio scudo, il mio potente salvatore, il mio alto ricetto, il mio asilo. O mio salvatore, tu mi salvi dalla violenza! 4Io invocai l’Eterno ch’è degno d’ogni lode, e fui salvato dai miei nemici. 5Le onde della morte m’avean circondato e i torrenti della distruzione m’aveano spaventato. 6I legami del soggiorno de’ morti m’aveano attorniato, i lacci della morte m’aveano còlto. 7Nella mia distretta invocai l’Eterno, e gridai al mio Dio. Egli udì la mia voce dal suo tempio, e il mio grido pervenne ai suoi orecchi. 8Allora la terra fu scossa e tremò i fondamenti de’ cieli furono smossi e scrollati, perch’egli era acceso d’ira. 9Un fumo saliva dalle sue nari; un fuoco consumante gli usciva dalla bocca, e ne procedevano carboni accesi. 10Egli abbassò i cieli e discese, avendo sotto i piedi una densa caligine. 11Cavalcava sopra un cherubino e volava ed appariva sulle ali del vento. 12Avea posto intorno a sé, come un padiglione, le tenebre, le raccolte d’acque, le dense nubi de’ cieli. 13Dallo splendore che lo precedeva, si sprigionavano carboni accesi. 14L’Eterno tuonò dai cieli e l’Altissimo diè fuori la sua voce. 15Avventò saette, e disperse i nemici; lanciò folgori, e li mise in rotta. 16Allora apparve il letto del mare, e i fondamenti del mondo furono scoperti allo sgridare dell’Eterno, al soffio del vento delle sue nari. 17Egli distese dall’alto la mano mi prese, mi trasse fuori dalle grandi acque. 18Mi riscosse dal mio potente nemico, da quelli che mi odiavano; perch’eran più forti di me. 19Essi m’eran piombati addosso nel dì della mia calamità, ma l’Eterno fu il mio sostegno. 20Egli mi trasse fuori al largo, mi liberò perché mi gradisce. 21L’Eterno mi ha retribuito secondo la mia giustizia, mi ha reso secondo la purità dello mie mani, 22poiché ho osservato le vie dell’Eterno e non mi sono empiamente sviato dal mio Dio. 23Poiché ho tenuto tutte le sue leggi davanti a me, e non mi sono allontanato dai suoi statuti. 24E sono stato integro verso di lui, e mi son guardato dalla mia iniquità. 25Ond’è che l’Eterno m’ha reso secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la mia purità nel suo cospetto. 26Tu ti mostri pietoso verso il pio, integro verso l’uomo integro; 27ti mostri puro col puro e ti mostri astuto col perverso; 28tu salvi la gente afflitta, e il tuo sguardo si ferma sugli alteri, per abbassarli. 29Sì, tu sei la mia lampada, o Eterno, e l’Eterno illumina le mie tenebre. 30Con te io assalgo tutta una schiera, col mio Dio salgo sulle mura. 31La via di Dio è perfetta, la parola dell’Eterno è purgata col fuoco. Egli è lo scudo di tutti quelli che sperano in lui. 32Poiché chi è Dio fuor del l’Eterno? E chi è Ròcca fuor del nostro Dio? 33Iddio è la mia potente fortezza, e rende la mia via perfetta. 34Egli rende i miei piedi simili a quelli delle cerve e mi rende saldo sui miei alti luoghi. 35Egli ammaestra le mie mani alla battaglia e le mie braccia tendono un arco di rame. 36Tu m’hai anche dato lo scudo della tua salvezza, e la tua benignità m’ha fatto grande. 37Tu hai allargato la via ai miei passi; e i miei piedi non hanno vacillato. 38Io ho inseguito i miei nemici e li ho distrutti, e non son tornato addietro prima d’averli annientati. 39Li ho annientati, schiacciati; e non son risorti; son caduti sotto i miei piedi. 40Tu m’hai cinto di forza per la guerra, tu hai fatto piegare sotto di me i miei avversari; 41hai fatto voltar le spalle davanti a me ai miei nemici, a quelli che m’odiavano, ed io li ho distrutti. 42Hanno guardato, ma non vi fu chi li salvasse; han gridato all’Eterno, ma egli non rispose loro; 43io li ho tritati come polvere della terra, li ho pestati, calpestati, come il fango delle strade. 44Tu m’hai liberato dalle dissensioni del mio popolo, m’hai conservato capo di nazioni; un popolo che non conoscevo m’è stato sottoposto. 45I figli degli stranieri m’hanno reso omaggio, al solo udir parlare di me, m’hanno prestato ubbidienza. 46I figli degli stranieri son venuti meno, sono usciti tremanti dai loro ripari. 47Viva l’Eterno! Sia benedetta la mia ròcca! e sia esaltato Iddio, la ròcca della mia salvezza! 48l’Iddio che fa la mia vendetta, e mi sottomette i popoli, 49che mi trae dalle mani dei miei nemici. Sì, tu mi sollevi sopra i miei avversari mi riscuoti dall’uomo violento. 50Perciò, o Eterno, ti loderò fra le nazioni, e salmeggerò al tuo nome. 51Grandi liberazioni egli accorda al suo re, ed usa benignità verso il suo unto, verso Davide e la sua progenie in perpetuo".

1David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: 2and he said, “Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine; 3God, my rock, in him I will take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence. 4I will call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from my enemies. 5For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid. 6The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me. 7In my distress I called on Yahweh. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears. 8Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry. 9Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Fire out of his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it. 10He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet. 11He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind. 12He made darkness pavilions around himself: gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies. 13At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled. 14Yahweh thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice. 15He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and confused them. 16Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of Yahweh, At the blast of the breath of his nostrils. 17He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters. 18He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. 19They came on me in the day of my calamity, but Yahweh was my support. 20He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me. 21Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands. 22For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 23For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I did not depart from them. 24I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity. 25Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight. 26With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect. 27With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd. 28You will save the afflicted people, But your eyes are on the haughty, that you may bring them down. 29For you are my lamp, Yahweh. Yahweh will light up my darkness. 30For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall. 31As for God, his way is perfect. Yahweh’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. 32For who is God, besides Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God? 33God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect. 34He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places. 35He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass. 36You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great. 37You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped. 38I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed. 39I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet. 40For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. 41You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me. 42They looked, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them. 43Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad. 44You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me. 45The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me. 46The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places. 47Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation, 48even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me, 49who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man. 50Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name. 51He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, forever more.”

1En David sprak de woorden dezes lieds tot den HEERE, ten dage als de HEERE hem verlost had uit de hand van al zijn vijanden, en uit de hand van Saul. 2Hij zeide dan: De HEERE is mij mijn Steenrots, en mijn Burg, en mijn Uithelper. 3God is mijn Rots, ik zal op Hem betrouwen; mijn Schild en de Hoorn mijns heils, mijn Hoog Vertrek en mijn Toevlucht, mijn Verlosser! Van geweld hebt Gij mij verlost! 4Ik riep den HEERE aan, Die te prijzen is, en ik werd verlost van mijn vijanden. 5Want baren des doods hadden mij omvangen; beken Belials verschrikten mij. 6Banden der hel omringden mij; strikken des doods bejegenden mij. 7Als mij bange was, riep ik den HEERE aan, en riep tot mijn God; en Hij hoorde mijn stem uit Zijn paleis, en mijn geroep kwam in Zijn oren. 8Toen daverde en beefde de aarde; de fondamenten des hemels beroerden zich, en daverden, omdat Hij ontstoken was. 9Rook ging op van Zijn neus, en een vuur uit Zijn mond verteerde; kolen werden daarvan aangestoken. 10En Hij boog den hemel, en daalde neder; en donkerheid was onder Zijn voeten. 11En Hij voer op een cherub, en vloog, en werd gezien op de vleugelen des winds. 12En Hij zette duisternis rondom Zich tot tenten, een samenbinding der wateren, wolken des hemels. 13Van den glans voor Hem henen werden kolen des vuurs aangestoken. 14De HEERE donderde van den hemel, en de Allerhoogste gaf Zijn stem. 15En Hij zond pijlen uit en verstrooide ze; bliksemen en verschrikte ze. 16En de diepe kolken der zee werden gezien, de gronden der wereld werden ontdekt, door het schelden des HEEREN, van het geblaas des winds van Zijn neus. 17Hij zond van de hoogte, Hij nam mij, Hij trok mij op uit grote wateren. 18Hij verloste mij van mijn sterken vijand, van mijn haters, omdat zij machtiger waren dan ik. 19Zij hadden mij bejegend ten dage mijns ongevals; maar de HEERE was mij een Steunsel. 20En Hij voerde mij uit in de ruimte, en rukte mij uit, want Hij had lust aan mij. 21De HEERE vergold mij naar mijn gerechtigheid; Hij gaf mij weder naar de reinigheid mijner handen. 22Want ik heb des HEEREN wegen gehouden, en ben van mijn God niet goddelooslijk afgegaan. 23Want al Zijn rechten waren voor mij, en Zijn inzettingen, daarvan week ik niet af. 24Maar ik was oprecht voor Hem; en ik wachtte mij voor mijn ongerechtigheid. 25Zo gaf mij de HEERE weder naar mijn gerechtigheid, naar mijn reinigheid, voor Zijn ogen. 26Bij den goedertierene houdt Gij U goedertieren; bij den oprechten held houdt Gij U oprecht. 27Bij den reine houdt Gij U rein; maar bij den verkeerde houdt Gij U verdraaid. 28En Gij verlost het bedrukte volk; maar Uw ogen zijn tegen de hogen, Gij zult hen vernederen. 29Want Gij zijt mijn Lamp, o HEERE, en de HEERE doet mijn duisternis opklaren. 30Want met U loop ik door een bende; met mijn God spring ik over een muur. 31Gods weg is volmaakt; de rede des HEEREN is doorlouterd; Hij is een Schild allen, die op Hem betrouwen. 32Want wie is God, behalve de HEERE, en wie is een rotssteen, behalve onze God? 33God is mijn Sterkte en Kracht; en Hij heeft mijn weg volkomen geopend. 34Hij maakt mijn voeten gelijk als der hinden, en stelt mij op mijn hoogten. 35Hij leert mijn handen ten strijde, zodat een stalen boog met mijn armen verbroken is. 36Ook hebt Gij mij gegeven het schild Uws heils, en door Uw verootmoedigen hebt Gij mij groot gemaakt. 37Gij hebt mijn voetstap ruim gemaakt onder mij; en mijn enkelen hebben niet gewankeld. 38Ik vervolgde mijn vijanden, en verdelgde hen, en keerde niet weder, totdat ik ze verdaan had. 39En ik verteerde hen, en doorstak ze, dat zij niet weder opstonden; maar zij vielen onder mijn voeten. 40Want Gij omgorddet mij met kracht ten strijde; Gij deedt onder mij nederbukken, die tegen mij opstonden. 41En Gij gaaft mij den nek mijner vijanden, mijner haters, en ik vernielde hen. 42Zij zagen uit, maar er was geen verlosser; naar den HEERE, maar Hij antwoordde hun niet. 43Toen vergruisde ik hen als stof der aarde; ik stampte ze, ik breidde hen uit als slijk der straten. 44Ook hebt Gij mij uitgeholpen van de twisten mijns volks, Gij hebt mij bewaard tot een hoofd der heidenen; het volk, dat ik niet kende, heeft mij gediend. 45Vreemden hebben zich mij geveinsdelijk onderworpen; zo haast als hun oor van mij hoorde, hebben zij mij gehoorzaamd. 46Vreemden zijn vervallen, en hebben zich aangegord uit hun sloten. 47De HEERE leeft, en geloofd zij mijn Rotssteen; en verhoogd zij God, de Rotssteen mijns heils! 48De God, Die mij volkomene wraak geeft, en de volken onder mij nederwerpt; 49En Die mij uitvoert van mijn vijanden; en Gij verhoogt mij boven degenen, die tegen mij opstaan; Gij redt mij van den man alles gewelds. 50Daarom zal ik U, o HEERE, loven onder de heidenen, en Uw Naam zal ik psalmzingen. 51Hij is een Toren der verlossingen Zijns konings, en Hij doet goedertierenheid aan Zijn gezalfde, aan David en aan zijn zaad, tot in eeuwigheid.
