Lévitique 18

1L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit : 2Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras : Je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu. 3Vous ne ferez point ce qui se fait dans le pays d’Égypte où vous avez habité, et vous ne ferez point ce qui se fait dans le pays de Canaan où je vous mène : vous ne suivrez point leurs usages. 4Vous pratiquerez mes ordonnances, et vous observerez mes lois : vous les suivrez. Je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu. 5Vous observerez mes lois et mes ordonnances : l’homme qui les mettra en pratique vivra par elles. Je suis l’Éternel. 6Nul de vous ne s’approchera de sa parente, pour découvrir sa nudité. Je suis l’Éternel. 7Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ton père, ni la nudité de ta mère. C’est ta mère : tu ne découvriras point sa nudité. 8Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton père. C’est la nudité de ton père. 9Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta sœur, fille de ton père ou fille de ta mère, née dans la maison ou née hors de la maison. 10Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la fille de ton fils ou de la fille de ta fille. Car c’est ta nudité. 11Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la fille de la femme de ton père, née de ton père. C’est ta sœur. 12Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ton père. C’est la proche parente de ton père. 13Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère. Car c’est la proche parente de ta mère. 14Tu ne découvriras point la nudité du frère de ton père. Tu ne t’approcheras point de sa femme. C’est ta tante. 15Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta belle-fille. C’est la femme de ton fils : tu ne découvriras point sa nudité. 16Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton frère. C’est la nudité de ton frère. 17Tu ne découvriras point la nudité d’une femme et de sa fille. Tu ne prendras point la fille de son fils, ni la fille de sa fille, pour découvrir leur nudité. Ce sont tes proches parentes : c’est un crime. 18Tu ne prendras point la sœur de ta femme, pour exciter une rivalité, en découvrant sa nudité à côté de ta femme pendant sa vie. 19Tu ne t’approcheras point d’une femme pendant son impureté menstruelle, pour découvrir sa nudité. 20Tu n’auras point commerce avec la femme de ton prochain, pour te souiller avec elle. 21Tu ne livreras aucun de tes enfants pour le faire passer à Moloc, et tu ne profaneras point le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis l’Éternel. 22Tu ne coucheras point avec un homme comme on couche avec une femme. C’est une abomination. 23Tu ne coucheras point avec une bête, pour te souiller avec elle. La femme ne s’approchera point d’une bête, pour se prostituer à elle. C’est une confusion. 24Ne vous souillez par aucune de ces choses, car c’est par toutes ces choses que se sont souillées les nations que je vais chasser devant vous. 25Le pays en a été souillé ; je punirai son iniquité, et le pays vomira ses habitants. 26Vous observerez donc mes lois et mes ordonnances, et vous ne commettrez aucune de ces abominations, ni l’indigène, ni l’étranger qui séjourne au milieu de vous. 27Car ce sont là toutes les abominations qu’ont commises les hommes du pays, qui y ont été avant vous ; et le pays en a été souillé. 28Prenez garde que le pays ne vous vomisse, si vous le souillez, comme il aura vomi les nations qui y étaient avant vous. 29Car tous ceux qui commettront quelqu’une de ces abominations seront retranchés du milieu de leur peuple. 30Vous observerez mes commandements, et vous ne pratiquerez aucun des usages abominables qui se pratiquaient avant vous, vous ne vous en souillerez pas. Je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu.

1Yahweh said to Moses, 2“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘I am Yahweh your God. 3You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived: and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you; neither shall you walk in their statutes. 4You shall do my ordinances, and you shall keep my statutes, and walk in them: I am Yahweh your God. 5You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances; which if a man does, he shall live in them. I am Yahweh. 6“‘None of you shall approach anyone who are his close relatives, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yahweh. 7“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, nor the nakedness of your mother: she is your mother. You shall not uncover her nakedness. 8“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife. It is your father’s nakedness. 9“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home, or born abroad. 10“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness: for theirs is your own nakedness. 11“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, conceived by your father, since she is your sister. 12“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister: she is your father’s near kinswoman. 13“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister: for she is your mother’s near kinswoman. 14“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, you shall not approach his wife. She is your aunt. 15“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law: she is your son’s wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness. 16“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife. It is your brother’s nakedness. 17“‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are near kinswomen: it is wickedness. 18“‘You shall not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival, to uncover her nakedness, while her sister is yet alive. 19“‘You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness. 20“‘You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her. 21“‘You shall not give any of your children to sacrifice to Molech; neither shall you profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh. 22“‘You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable. 23“‘You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion. 24“‘Don’t defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations which I am casting out before you were defiled. 25The land was defiled: therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants. 26You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you; 27(for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land became defiled); 28that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. 29“‘For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people. 30Therefore you shall keep my requirements, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them. I am Yahweh your God.’”

1Verder sprak de HEERE tot Mozes, zeggende: 2Spreek tot de kinderen Israels en zeg tot hen: Ik ben de HEERE, uw God! 3Gij zult niet doen naar de werken des Egyptischen lands, waarin gij gewoond hebt; en naar de werken des lands Kanaan, waarheen Ik u brenge, zult gij niet doen, en zult in hun inzettingen niet wandelen. 4Mijn rechten zult gij doen, en Mijn inzettingen zult gij houden, om in die te wandelen; Ik ben de HEERE, uw God! 5Ja, Mijn inzettingen en Mijn rechten zult gij houden; welk mens dezelve zal doen, die zal door dezelve leven; Ik ben de HEERE! 6Niemand zal tot enige nabestaande zijns vleses naderen, om de schaamte te ontdekken; Ik ben de HEERE! 7Gij zult de schaamte uws vaders en de schaamte uwer moeder niet ontdekken; zij is uw moeder; gij zult haar schaamte niet ontdekken. 8Gij zult de schaamte der huisvrouw uws vaders niet ontdekken; het is de schaamte uws vaders. 9De schaamte uwer zuster, der dochter uws vaders, of der dochter uwer moeder, te huis geboren of buiten geboren, haar schaamte zult gij niet ontdekken. 10De schaamte der dochter uws zoons, of der dochter uwer dochter, haar schaamte zult gij niet ontdekken; want zij zijn uw schaamte. 11De schaamte van de dochter der huisvrouw uws vaders, die uw vader geboren is (zij is uw zuster), haar schaamte zult gij niet ontdekken. 12Gij zult de schaamte van de zuster uws vaders niet ontdekken; zij is uws vaders nabestaande. 13Gij zult de schaamte van de zuster uwer moeder niet ontdekken; want zij is uwer moeder nabestaande. 14Gij zult de schaamte van den broeder uws vaders niet ontdekken; tot zijn huisvrouw zult gij niet naderen; zij is uw moei. 15Gij zult de schaamte uwer schoondochter niet ontdekken; zij is uws zoons huisvrouw; gij zult haar schaamte niet ontdekken. 16Gij zult de schaamte der huisvrouw uws broeders niet ontdekken; het is de schaamte uws broeders. 17Gij zult de schaamte ener vrouw en harer dochter niet ontdekken; de dochter haars zoons, noch de dochter van haar dochter zult gij nemen, om haar schaamte te ontdekken; zij zijn nabestaanden; het is een schandelijke daad. 18Gij zult ook geen vrouw tot haar zuster nemen, om haar te benauwen, mits haar schaamte nevens haar, in haar leven, te ontdekken. 19Ook zult gij tot de vrouw in de afzondering van haar onreinigheid niet naderen, om haar schaamte te ontdekken. 20En gij zult niet liggen bij uws naasten huisvrouw ter bezading, om met haar onrein te worden. 21En van uw zaad zult gij niet geven, om voor den Molech door het vuur te doen gaan; en den Naam uws Gods zult gij niet ontheiligen; Ik ben de HEERE! 22Bij een manspersoon zult gij niet liggen met vrouwelijke bijligging; dit is een gruwel. 23Insgelijks zult gij bij geen beest liggen, om daarmede onrein te worden; een vrouw zal ook niet staan voor een beest, om daarmede te doen te hebben; het is een gruwelijke vermenging. 24Verontreinigt u niet met enige van deze; want de heidenen, die Ik van uw aangezicht uitwerpe, zijn met alle deze verontreinigd; 25Zodat het land onrein is, en Ik over hetzelve zijn ongerechtigheid bezoeke, en het land zijn inwoners uitspuwt. 26Maar gij zult Mijn inzettingen en Mijn rechten onderhouden, en van al die gruwelen niets doen, inboorling noch vreemdeling, die in het midden van u als vreemdeling verkeert. 27Want de lieden dezes lands, die voor u geweest zijn, hebben al deze gruwelen gedaan; en het land is onrein geworden. 28Dat u dat land niet uitspuwe, als gij hetzelve zult verontreinigd hebben; gelijk als het het volk, dat voor u was, uitgespuwd heeft. 29Want al wie enige van deze gruwelen doen zal, die zielen, die ze doen, zullen uit het midden van haar volk uitgeroeid worden. 30Daarom zult gij Mijn bevel onderhouden, dat gij niet doet van die gruwelijke inzettingen, die voor u zijn gedaan geweest, en u daarmede niet verontreinigt; Ik ben de HEERE, uw God!
