1Après avoir autrefois, à plusieurs reprises et de plusieurs manières, parlé à nos pères par les prophètes, 2Dieu, dans ces derniers temps, nous a parlé par le Fils, qu’il a établi héritier de toutes choses, par lequel il a aussi créé le monde, 3et qui, étant le reflet de sa gloire et l’empreinte de sa personne, et soutenant toutes choses par sa parole puissante, a fait la purification des péchés et s’est assis à la droite de la majesté divine dans les lieux très hauts, 4devenu d’autant supérieur aux anges qu’il a hérité d’un nom plus excellent que le leur. 5Car auquel des anges Dieu a-t-il jamais dit : Tu es mon Fils, Je t’ai engendré aujourd’hui ? Et encore : Je serai pour lui un père, et il sera pour moi un fils ? 6Et lorsqu’il introduit de nouveau dans le monde le premier-né, il dit : Que tous les anges de Dieu l’adorent ! 7De plus, il dit des anges : Celui qui fait de ses anges des vents, Et de ses serviteurs une flamme de feu. 8Mais il a dit au Fils : Ton trône, ô Dieu, est éternel ; Le sceptre de ton règne est un sceptre d’équité ; 9Tu as aimé la justice, et tu as haï l’iniquité ; C’est pourquoi, ô Dieu, ton Dieu t’a oint D’une huile de joie au-dessus de tes égaux. 10Et encore : Toi, Seigneur, tu as au commencement fondé la terre, Et les cieux sont l’ouvrage de tes mains ; 11Ils périront, mais tu subsistes ; Ils vieilliront tous comme un vêtement, 12Tu les rouleras comme un manteau et ils seront changés ; Mais toi, tu restes le même, Et tes années ne finiront point. 13Et auquel des anges a-t-il jamais dit : Assieds-toi à ma droite, jusqu’à ce que je fasse de tes ennemis ton marchepied ? 14Ne sont-ils pas tous des esprits au service de Dieu, envoyés pour exercer un ministère en faveur de ceux qui doivent hériter du salut ?
1God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 3His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 5For to which of the angels did he say at any time, “You are my Son. Today have I become your father?” and again, “I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?” 6When he again brings in the firstborn into the world he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.” 7Of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire.” 8But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom. 9You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” 10And, “You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands. 11They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does. 12You will roll them up like a mantle, and they will be changed; but you are the same. Your years will not fail.” 13But which of the angels has he told at any time, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?” 14Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
1God, voortijds veelmaal en op velerlei wijze, tot de vaderen gesproken hebbende door de profeten, heeft in deze laatste dagen tot ons gesproken door den Zoon; 2Welken Hij gesteld heeft tot een Erfgenaam van alles, door Welken Hij ook de wereld gemaakt heeft; 3Dewelke, alzo Hij is het Afschijnsel Zijner heerlijkheid, en het uitgedrukte Beeld Zijner zelfstandigheid, en alle dingen draagt door het woord Zijner kracht, nadat Hij de reinigmaking onzer zonden door Zichzelven te weeg gebracht heeft, is gezeten aan de rechter hand der Majesteit in de hoogste hemelen; 4Zoveel treffelijker geworden dan de engelen, als Hij uitnemender Naam boven hen geerfd heeft. 5Want tot wien van de engelen heeft Hij ooit gezegd: Gij zijt Mijn Zoon, heden heb ik u gegenereerd? En wederom: Ik zal Hem tot een Vader zijn, en Hij zal Mij tot een Zoon zijn? 6En als Hij wederom de Eerstgeborene inbrengt in de wereld, zegt Hij: En dat alle engelen Gods Hem aanbidden. 7En tot de engelen zegt Hij wel: Die Zijn engelen maakt geesten, en Zijn dienaars een vlam des vuurs. 8Maar tot den Zoon zegt Hij: Uw troon, o God, is in alle eeuwigheid; de schepter Uws koninkrijks is een rechte schepter. 9Gij hebt rechtvaardigheid liefgehad, en ongerechtigheid gehaat; daarom heeft U, o God! Uw God gezalfd met olie der vreugde boven Uw medegenoten. 10En: Gij, Heere! hebt in den beginne de aarde gegrond, en de hemelen zijn werken Uwer handen; 11Dezelve zullen vergaan, maar Gij blijft altijd, en zij zullen alle als een kleed verouden; 12En als een dekkleed zult Gij ze ineenrollen, en zij zullen veranderd worden; maar Gij zijt Dezelfde, en Uw jaren zullen niet ophouden. 13En tot welken der engelen heeft Hij ooit gezegd: Zit aan Mijn rechter hand, totdat Ik Uw vijanden zal gezet hebben tot een voetbank Uwer voeten? 14Zijn zij niet allen gedienstige geesten, die tot dienst uitgezonden worden, om dergenen wil, die de zaligheid beerven zullen?
