1Après qu’on eut amené l’arche de Dieu, on la plaça au milieu de la tente que David avait dressée pour elle, et l’on offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices d’actions de grâces. 2Quand David eut achevé d’offrir les holocaustes et les sacrifices d’actions de grâces, il bénit le peuple au nom de l’Éternel. 3Puis il distribua à tous ceux d’Israël, hommes et femmes, à chacun un pain, une portion de viande et un gâteau de raisins. 4Il remit à des Lévites la charge de faire le service devant l’arche de l’Éternel, d’invoquer, de louer et de célébrer l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël. 5C’étaient : Asaph, le chef ; Zacharie, le second après lui, Jeïel, Schemiramoth, Jehiel, Matthithia, Éliab, Benaja, Obed-Édom et Jeïel. Ils avaient des instruments de musique, des luths et des harpes ; et Asaph faisait retentir les cymbales. 6Les sacrificateurs Benaja et Jachaziel sonnaient continuellement des trompettes devant l’arche de l’alliance de Dieu. 7Ce fut en ce jour que David chargea pour la première fois Asaph et ses frères de célébrer les louanges de l’Éternel. 8Louez l’Éternel, invoquez son nom ! Faites connaître parmi les peuples ses hauts faits ! 9Chantez, chantez en son honneur ! Parlez de toutes ses merveilles ! 10Glorifiez-vous de son saint nom ! Que le cœur de ceux qui cherchent l’Éternel se réjouisse ! 11Ayez recours à l’Éternel et à son appui, Cherchez continuellement sa face ! 12Souvenez-vous des prodiges qu’il a faits, De ses miracles et des jugements de sa bouche, 13Race d’Israël, son serviteur, Enfants de Jacob, ses élus ! 14L’Éternel est notre Dieu ; Ses jugements s’exercent sur toute la terre. 15Rappelez-vous à toujours son alliance, Ses promesses pour mille générations, 16L’alliance qu’il a traitée avec Abraham, Et le serment qu’il a fait à Isaac ; 17Il l’a érigée pour Jacob en loi, Pour Israël en alliance éternelle, 18Disant : Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan Comme l’héritage qui vous est échu. 19Ils étaient alors peu nombreux, Très peu nombreux, et étrangers dans le pays, 20Et ils allaient d’une nation à l’autre Et d’un royaume vers un autre peuple ; 21Mais il ne permit à personne de les opprimer, Et il châtia des rois à cause d’eux : 22Ne touchez pas à mes oints, Et ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes ! 23Chantez à l’Éternel, vous tous habitants de la terre ! Annoncez de jour en jour son salut ; 24Racontez parmi les nations sa gloire, Parmi tous les peuples ses merveilles ! 25Car l’Éternel est grand et très digne de louange, Il est redoutable par-dessus tous les dieux ; 26Car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles, Et l’Éternel a fait les cieux. 27La majesté et la splendeur sont devant sa face, La force et la joie sont dans sa demeure. 28Familles des peuples, rendez à l’Éternel, Rendez à l’Éternel gloire et honneur ! 29Rendez à l’Éternel gloire pour son nom ! Apportez des offrandes et venez en sa présence, Prosternez-vous devant l’Éternel avec de saints ornements ! 30Tremblez devant lui, vous tous habitants de la terre ! Le monde est affermi, il ne chancelle point. 31Que les cieux se réjouissent, et que la terre soit dans l’allégresse ! Que l’on dise parmi les nations : L’Éternel règne ! 32Que la mer retentisse avec tout ce qu’elle contient ! Que la campagne s’égaie avec tout ce qu’elle renferme ! 33Que les arbres des forêts poussent des cris de joie Devant l’Éternel ! Car il vient pour juger la terre. 34Louez l’Éternel, car il est bon, Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours ! 35Dites : Sauve-nous, Dieu de notre salut, Rassemble-nous, et retire-nous du milieu des nations, Afin que nous célébrions ton saint nom Et que nous mettions notre gloire à te louer ! 36Béni soit l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, D’éternité en éternité ! Et que tout le peuple dise : Amen ! Louez l’Éternel ! 37David laissa là, devant l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel, Asaph et ses frères, afin qu’ils fussent continuellement de service devant l’arche, remplissant leur tâche jour par jour. 38Il laissa Obed-Édom et Hosa avec leurs frères, au nombre de soixante-huit, Obed-Édom, fils de Jeduthun, et Hosa, comme portiers. 39Il établit le sacrificateur Tsadok et les sacrificateurs, ses frères, devant le tabernacle de l’Éternel, sur le haut lieu qui était à Gabaon, 40pour qu’ils offrissent continuellement à l’Éternel des holocaustes, matin et soir, sur l’autel des holocaustes, et qu’ils accomplissent tout ce qui est écrit dans la loi de l’Éternel, imposée par l’Éternel à Israël. 41Auprès d’eux étaient Héman et Jeduthun, et les autres qui avaient été choisis et désignés par leurs noms pour louer l’Éternel. Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours. 42Auprès d’eux étaient Héman et Jeduthun, avec des trompettes et des cymbales pour ceux qui les faisaient retentir, et avec des instruments pour les cantiques en l’honneur de Dieu. Les fils de Jeduthun étaient portiers. 43Tout le peuple s’en alla chacun dans sa maison, et David s’en retourna pour bénir sa maison.
1They brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 2When David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in Yahweh’s name. 3He dealt to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. 4He appointed certain of the Levites to minister before Yahweh’s ark, and to celebrate and to thank and praise Yahweh, the God of Israel: 5Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud; 6and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God. 7Then on that day David first ordained to give thanks to Yahweh, by the hand of Asaph and his brothers. 8Oh give thanks to Yahweh. Call on his name. Make his doings known among the peoples. 9Sing to him. Sing praises to him. Tell of all his marvelous works. 10Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. 11Seek Yahweh and his strength. Seek his face forever more. 12Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth, 13you seed of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones. 14He is Yahweh our God. His judgments are in all the earth. 15Remember his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, 16the covenant which he made with Abraham, his oath to Isaac. 17He confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, 18saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance,” 19when you were but a few men in number, yes, very few, and foreigners were in it. 20They went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people. 21He allowed no man to do them wrong. Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes, 22“Don’t touch my anointed ones! Do my prophets no harm!” 23Sing to Yahweh, all the earth! Display his salvation from day to day. 24Declare his glory among the nations, and his marvelous works among all the peoples. 25For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods. 26For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens. 27Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place. 28Ascribe to Yahweh, you relatives of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength! 29Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come before him. Worship Yahweh in holy array. 30Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can’t be moved. 31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns!” 32Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is therein! 33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth. 34Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever. 35Say, “Save us, God of our salvation! Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.” 36Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. All the people said, “Amen,” and praised Yahweh. 37So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, Asaph and his brothers, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required; 38and Obed-Edom with their brothers, sixty-eight; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers; 39and Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, before Yahweh’s tabernacle in the high place that was at Gibeon, 40to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in Yahweh’s law, which he commanded to Israel; 41and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Yahweh, because his loving kindness endures forever; 42and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate. 43All the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.
1Toen zij de ark Gods inbrachten, zo stelden zij ze in het midden der tent, welke David voor haar gespannen had; en zij offerden brandofferen en dankofferen voor het aangezicht Gods. 2Als David het brandoffer en de dankofferen geeindigd had te offeren, zo zegende hij het volk in den Naam des HEEREN. 3En hij deelde een iegelijk in Israel, van den man tot de vrouw, een iegelijk een bol broods, en een schoon stuk vlees, en een fles wijn. 4En hij stelde voor de ark des HEEREN sommigen uit de Levieten tot dienaars, en dat, om den HEERE, den God Israels, te vermelden, en te loven, en te prijzen. 5Asaf was het hoofd, en Zecharja de tweede na hem; Jeiel, en Semiramoth, en Jehiel, en Mattithja, en Eliab, en Benaja, en Obed-Edom, en Jeiel, met instrumenten der luiten en met harpen; en Asaf liet zich horen met cimbalen; 6Maar Benaja en Jahaziel, de priesters, steeds met trompetten voor de ark des verbonds van God. 7Te dienzelven dage gaf David ten eerste dezen psalm, om den HEERE te loven, door den dienst van Asaf, en zijn broederen. 8Looft den HEERE, roept Zijn Naam aan, maakt Zijn daden bekend onder de volken. 9Zingt Hem, psalmzingt Hem, spreekt aandachtelijk van al Zijn wonderwerken. 10Roemt u in den Naam Zijner heiligheid; dat zich het hart dergenen, die den HEERE zoeken, verblijde. 11Vraagt naar den HEERE en Zijn sterkte, zoekt Zijn aangezicht geduriglijk. 12Gedenkt Zijner wonderwerken, die Hij gedaan heeft, Zijner wondertekenen, en de oordelen Zijns monds; 13Gij, zaad van Israel, Zijn dienaar, gij, kinderen van Jakob, Zijn uitverkorenen! 14Hij is de HEERE, onze God; Zijn oordelen zijn over de gehele aarde. 15Gedenkt tot in der eeuwigheid Zijns verbonds, des woords, dat Hij ingesteld heeft tot in het duizendste geslacht; 16Des verbonds, dat Hij met Abraham heeft gemaakt, en Zijns eeds aan Izak; 17Welken Hij ook aan Jakob heeft gesteld tot een inzetting, aan Israel tot een eeuwig verbond; 18Zeggende: Ik zal u het land Kanaan geven, een snoer van ulieder erfdeel; 19Als gij weinige mensen in getal waart; ja, weinigen en vreemdelingen daarin. 20En zij wandelden van volk tot volk, en van het ene koninkrijk tot een ander volk. 21Hij liet niemand toe hen te onderdrukken; ook bestrafte Hij koningen om hunnentwil, zeggende: 22Tast Mijn gezalfden niet aan, en doet Mijn profeten geen kwaad. 23Zingt den HEERE, gij, ganse aarde, boodschapt Zijn heil van dag tot dag. 24Vertelt Zijn eer onder de heidenen, Zijn wonderwerken onder alle volken. 25Want de HEERE is groot, en zeer te prijzen, en Hij is vreselijk boven alle goden. 26Want al de goden der volken zijn afgoden; maar de HEERE heeft de hemelen gemaakt. 27Majesteit en heerlijkheid zijn voor Zijn aangezicht, sterkte en vrolijkheid zijn in Zijn plaats. 28Geeft den HEERE, gij, geslachten der volken, geeft den HEERE eer en sterkte. 29Geeft den HEERE de eer Zijns Naams, brengt offer, en komt voor Zijn aangezicht; aanbidt den HEERE in de heerlijkheid des heiligdoms. 30Schrikt voor Zijn aangezicht, gij, gehele aarde! Ook zal de wereld bevestigd worden, dat zij niet bewogen worde. 31Dat de hemelen zich verblijden, en de aarde verheuge zich, en dat men onder de heidenen zegge: De HEERE regeert. 32Dat de zee bruise met haar volheid, dat het veld huppele van vreugde, met al wat daarin is. 33Dan zullen de bomen des wouds juichen voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, omdat Hij komt, om de aarde te richten. 34Looft den HEERE, want Hij is goed, want Zijn goedertierenheid is tot in eeuwigheid. 35En zegt: Verlos ons, o God onzes heils, en verzamel ons, en red ons van de heidenen, dat wij Uw heiligen Naam loven, en dat wij ons Uws lofs roemen. 36Geloofd zij de HEERE, de God Israels, van eeuwigheid tot eeuwigheid! En al het volk zeide: Amen! en het loofde den HEERE. 37Alzo liet hij daar, voor de ark des verbonds des HEEREN, Asaf en zijn broederen, om geduriglijk te dienen voor de ark, naardat op elken dag besteld was. 38Obed-Edom nu, met hunlieder broederen, waren acht en zestig; en hij stelde Obed-Edom, den zoon van Jeduthun, en Hosa, tot poortiers; 39En den priester Zadok, en zijn broederen, de priesters, voor den tabernakel des HEEREN op de hoogte, welke te Gibeon is; 40Om den HEERE de brandofferen geduriglijk te offeren op het brandofferaltaar, des morgens en des avonds; en zulks naar alles, wat er geschreven staat in de wet des HEEREN, die Hij Israel geboden had. 41En met hen Heman en Jeduthun, en de overige uitgelezenen, die met namen uitgedrukt zijn om den HEERE te loven; want Zijn goedertierenheid is tot in der eeuwigheid. 42Met hen dan waren Heman en Jeduthun, met trompetten en cimbalen voor degenen, die zich lieten horen, en met instrumenten der muziek Gods; maar de zonen van Jeduthun waren aan de poort. 43Alzo toog het ganse volk henen, een iegelijk in zijn huis; en David keerde zich, om zijn huis te gaan zegenen.
